821  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Should I buy bitcoin ETF now? on: December 18, 2023, 12:28:30 PM
I'd say that it's better to buy BTC itself. But it feels kinda strange to see someone asking stuff like this when they have $4,626,720.67.
Have you been reading what people are posting on this thread? You can clearly understand that the OP is talking about a presale coin and not his own money. But it is true that it is better to buy bitcoin instead. But bitcoin ETF token is not related to bitcoin at all.

Look at the ETF's nature: it provides Bitcoin access without the actual of owning Bitcoins. ETFs are easy, but they dont offer the same control or potential benefits as owning Bitcoin directly. You invest in an ETF that tracks the price, not the asset.
OP is talking about a token, not bitcoin ETF.

Because United States has not approved bitcoin spot ETF, that does not mean other countries like Canada and some European countries has not approved it. There are countries that have bitcoin spot ETF.

What you are referring to are only bitcoin future ETF.

If you love Bitcoin, why not buy it directly? This  helps the Bitcoin ecosystem and promotes bitcoin ownership. Direct investing provides a closer relationship with the asset, worth considering.
You are right, it is better to buy bitcoin directly. With that you will have complete control on your coins.
822  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jpg monkeys are making the fees impossible? Just use a meme coin! on: December 18, 2023, 12:21:59 PM
@OP you're wrong, we're in Bitcointalk where we must talk about Bitcoin and only use Bitcoin as a currency because Bitcoin is a decentralized currency. We don't care about the fees, we want Bitcoin is accepted and become legal tender in every country and Bitcoin will save the world economy /s.
You want countries to make bitcoin a legal tender? That can not be possible. But most countries can be bitcoin friendly. Infact, nearly all countries are accepting bitcoin because they are friendly with it.

Bitcoin can not save the economy. The government are the ones responsible for economy and they are the one to do something that will help the economy.
823  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jpg monkeys are making the fees impossible? Just use a meme coin! on: December 17, 2023, 05:43:21 PM

So why not just use fiat and a Visa card if you're going for a centralized not regulated shitcoin not FDIC insured crap that can be shut down tomorrow or that can seize your funds depending what CZ ate yesterday and how much time he has spent on the toilet afterwards?
I mean just for little amount of bitcoin. I will still prefer to hold bitcoin with it stored on bitcoin blockchain. But in time like this, if I want to convert to fiat and spend money, I can not use it but the altcoins.

Smiley
What's mini wallet? Never heard of it!
My bad, it is a mistake. I think my keyboard changed it from Muun to Mini. I was referring to Muun wallet. I have corrected it.
824  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jpg monkeys are making the fees impossible? Just use a meme coin! on: December 17, 2023, 05:25:10 PM
For little amount of bitcoin, lightning network can be used. Wallet of Satoshi and Mini Muun wallet can be used if you can not open channel. If channel is not opened, no on chain transaction fee that eiuld be paid.

Also for small amount of coins, you can still use those altcoins pegged to bitcoin price. There are many of them like those on Binance Smart Chain. They are not reliable like bitcoin but no option in time like this.

Bitcoin fee is too high. What are bitcoin developers doing. They need to do something about this.
825  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you confident betting on handicap for heavy favorites or heavy underdog? on: December 17, 2023, 07:03:51 AM
I have not seen Handicap to be this high before, probably because I go for big leagues and the handicap that I have seen are not more than two goals down or two goals more. I do not like to go for handicap in football betting which is the sport betting that I gamble with most. I prefer to go for other ones like straight win or sometime I can go for first half win.
826  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have a "gambling problem" which you can sometimes control for years? on: December 16, 2023, 10:21:04 PM
Let's start with the simple choice: Do you consider yourself to have a gambling problem affecting your happiness, security, relationships, finances, etc? (Yes or No)
Now, here is something a bit different: Do you have a "gambling problem" which you can sometimes control for years? Either you make enough income to call it "adult play", so you do not have real problems, and/or you simply stop for a long time. Then - months or years later - it gets worse again and you are in trouble.
I stop the addiction and it never came back. My gambling activities has severely reduced.

(Second question) Either way, when it's time to stop, how exactly do you do it? (For example) Change other habits, go new places, exercise more, stop drinking, simply "swear off" gambling... How exactly do you stop? Thank you.
If you know your gambling addiction has started again, the best is to just quit gambling. Do not gamble again. Fill your life with other things that you can think of and do not gamble again at all.

It is good to quit before it is too late.
827  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does match fixing concern you often? on: December 16, 2023, 07:51:24 PM
The reason I do not gamble with small leagues is because of match fixing, although I do not know if truly it is existing frequently there. I go for top leagues like the EPL, Seria A, Bundesliga, French Lique 1 and those like that.

But I guess match fixing could also be a big issue in big countries with popular leagues because there the stakes for betting are even higher.
Not a problem there. Just do not go for small leagues.

Do not try to think you can see some fixed matches, they are very hard to know and some people are using it to scam people.
828  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Prove me wrong: Gambling is both more relaxing and entertaining than trading! on: December 16, 2023, 12:48:23 PM
I gamble to have just fun.

I do not trade to have fun but to make money. Although I also use small amount of money to trade, just like gambling but a little bit more higher.

If asking which one is more entertaining, trading is not entertaining but exhausting.
829  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin community are in support of BRC20 on: December 16, 2023, 12:13:08 PM
I'm not sure about it, so I'm genuinely asking: can Ordinals be banned somehow? Can something be introduced to make new Ordinals impossible, for example? I'm thinking of something like a SegWit event (in a sense of introducing major changes). Is the problem that it's technically impossible or that there's lack of agreement to do it, so it's practically impossible?
I sincerely hope that the interest will naturally die out, but it's unfortunate that all we can do is wait it out.
Yes, all that would be done are left to bitcoin developers to remove Ordinals and it is even a simple step according to what I have read about it online. But this can not be done because of the ways ordinals are. If something like the removal is proposed, it may divide the bitcoin community or the Ordinals would win because with the existence of Ordinals, bitcoin miners are making more money on transaction fee and it would be what they will like.
830  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bybit collateral deduction on: December 16, 2023, 10:14:20 AM
Bybyt Unified Trading Account (https://www.bybit.com/en/promo/events/unified-trading-account) is like all in one with Isolated Margin, Cross Margin, Portfolio Margin. With those types, they will charge you trading fees when you let your positions open and open longer, you will have to pay more trading fees.

Do you think if you let your position opens for 2 months, will the increase of that token price be enough to cover your trading fee?
After the trading fee is charged based on percentage of the amount that you want to trade, no other trading fee is charged. The only other fee is the funding fee which might be given you or charged you and it is every 8 hours.

With margin, you might be in a hilarious situation. You hold ETH and use it as your margin collateral but when you see ETH rises a lot, you open a Short position. The funny but painful story is here: ETH rises, your portfolio value increases but you are in loss and can be liquidated with your Short position.
Trade with the amount of money that you can afford to lose. This is not holding but trading.

I think there won't be any deduction so far you are not losing much. But once it is getting to the point of liquidation, the negative USDC or USDT balance will be deducted from the bitcoin or other coin used as collateral.
831  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The best decision you can take on: December 16, 2023, 09:14:35 AM
A good and Skill trader must know that in other to stay long and profitable in the market,
it very important we know when to stay off the market
This is right. Traders should not be greedy. As traders is winning during the day, he may be greedy and wants to win more. But at the end, he may find himself losing overall before the day is over. Also if a trader is losing, they should have a limit to their loss, once the limit is exceeded, they should stop trading. Losing is when traders are vulnerable to lose more.

Sometimes, a trader can be sure of the market, enter the market and the market will go in the opposite direction against the position opened by the trader. It is good for traders to know that they should not trade with the money that they can not afford to lose.
832  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you take time to read the terms and conditions of casinos before registering? on: December 15, 2023, 11:21:39 PM
If you have taken your time to read the terms of service of a casino or other gambling sites before, reading another gambling site terms of service will just be like you are glancing through it. I do not take time to read much anymore. I prefer to read the important part which are:

1. KYC requirement needed or not
2. Restricted countries
3. Deposit and withdrawal

After checking those, I will later find time to read the ToS in full anytime that I am less busy, but when I am already using the site.
833  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can I ask for refund if casino game has bugs? on: December 15, 2023, 08:45:13 PM
Never heard of it as well.
We have discussed about this on this forum before and it it happened in real life. The casino was unable to pay the full money but pay part of the money.

If the casino is unable to pay, let it lead to court and let court decide.
834  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin community are in support of BRC20 on: December 15, 2023, 12:18:28 PM
I have a question, what qualify someone to be bitcoin people? Just owning Bitcoin?
I am referring to those early adopters, miners and developers. Two developers surfaced on the news about how Ordinals and BRC20 tokens are spamming the mempool and that they should be removed, but there are still others developers that will support it. I do not believe anymore that Ordinals existence which some people called vulnerability was not knowingly introduced by bitcoin developers. It is now too late, there is nothing that can be done than to work on how to reduce mempool congestion.
835  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin community are in support of BRC20 on: December 15, 2023, 08:43:43 AM
Can you see the mempool? Very congested.

Who are the ones pumping SATS and RATS? I can see CATS on Polonix pumped 400% today. Probably they will bounce on it to pump it more.

You know the funniest thing? No presale, no social media, no advertisement for these tokens.

SATS pumped almost 10 times in 2 weeks. Having over $1.75 billion now in marketcap.
RATS almost pumped 30 times in 3 or 4 weeks
CATS pumped 4 times today.

Who are pumping them? I do not want to believe it is not bitcoin people.
836  Other / Archival / Re: New strategy for casinos! on: December 15, 2023, 06:52:34 AM
So after mixers got banned, there will be a need to fill their empty space, soon we shall see new casinos coming in to play to compete with current services
No. If gambling sites come to this forum, it is just as usual as it was before. Casinos or other gambling sites are not the same or similar to mixers, they are also still gambling sites. If the sites are not gambling site and see this forum signature campaign to be profitable for them, that is different and that is when what your said is valid.
837  Economy / Exchanges / Bybit collateral deduction on: December 14, 2023, 11:15:52 AM
I do not know if I should open this on exchanges or trading discussion, because this is about Bybit unified trading account, using unstable coins as collateral.

If you have bitcoin as collateral and you are losing using the USDC or USDT margin on the exchange, you will see negative balance in USDC or USDT respectively on your unified account.

If your assets have been liquidated, it will become zero. But if not liquidation, your assets will all still be seen and going in the direction your coin price is going. If the position opened is left for months, will you asset won't be deducted from? So far you have your position still opened without liquidation?
838  Economy / Gambling / Re: Does anyone find the spate of online casinos a bit uninspired? on: December 14, 2023, 08:31:16 AM
Be careful because casinos that clearly copy another are very often simple scams!!!
With what I have noticed, not all are scam. There was a gambling site that copied another gambling site lite version source code but with little differences, it is a local casino. In the neighboring country, I noticed a gambling site also copied the lite version source code and it is also a legit site. I make further research, they are all gambling sites that are registered and regulated and they are fiat casino. I used the one in my country before I joined this forum. Later the casino they copy change the interface of his own gambling site. But a cloned gambling site is likely to be a scam.
839  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If You don't have Mind to Face Loses Then Don't Gamble. You Might End Your Life. on: December 14, 2023, 08:16:00 AM
It is still the same story as this: A gambler takes his own life after a loss.. We discussed about it yesterday.
840  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The need for mental section or public orientation for new gamblers. on: December 13, 2023, 07:41:30 PM
It would be good if we see a pinned thread that is about how not to be addicted while gambling. But to create a board for it, it is not necessary. We can discuss about addiction on gambling discussion board.

I still like the way it is, gambling addictions threads are often created on this board.

Correct me if I am wrong ..
What do you mean by this? This is all you post. Or is this a mistake?
