Why does cryptsy drop me after literally 15 seconds, (I can still watch trades, just can't do anything unless I re-log back in)

Dude it's like you're inside my head.

Nothing to add. That's what I meant.

I prefer coinedup.com

A little slow but other than that you can always count on them. Always doing updates on twitter.
Support is fantastic. Etc..

Oh and if you want to get it under 0.01 then the next day or two will be your last chance.
Trending upward.

A very humble prediction as it is a pretty wild market but I do not forsee .01 lasting through the night. Another test of .015 once it falls.

what u mean?

I think Jballs is implying that he thinks even though the market is all over the place with low-volume trading (it might be high BTC, but its low VTC realative to how much is being held) That through theese up and down cycles weak hands are selling to strong hands and it will only take a little more push to double our value or more and make .015+ the new playing field.

Seeing how there is only 1.5M+ of these coins, there is no reason with enough community and investment it cannot be trading at a higher value than LTC at some point.

Network Hash rate: 5009.26 Mhash/s

That is 10 GH of normal GPU.

It was 1/10th that 24 hours ago.

That is INsane,  did this surpass Litecoin?

Coin supply from mining is going to be EXTREMELY low per Mhs.   Price would have to go up!
825  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VTC] Vertcoin - Adaptive N-factor in Scrypt - No more ASICs on: February 05, 2014, 10:44:35 PM
Im just pissed that im still so shit at this....ended up panic buying at 90 when everything was taking off.... Huh

i feel you

i wonder where the bottom is, gona move in with 0.1 or 0.2 soon  Cool

0.005/0.006 is probably going to be the bottom.

.005 was taken, when we had a fraction of the exposure.   This current dump is volumeless,  hardly any BTC buys us up past .01 again.

My deposit went in after about 50 mins and so did hundreds of others, your spouting crap.

Im at 7+ hours,  and counting.  I've got 220+ confirms on my end.
827  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VTC] Vertcoin - Adaptive N-factor in Scrypt - No more ASICs on: February 05, 2014, 07:25:33 AM
Guys,

R u holding or selling ?

Strong hold,   not even volume to sell 500+ vtc anyway unless you low-ball market, but then it climbs right over that price once sold.
828  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VTC] Vertcoin - Adaptive N-factor in Scrypt - No more ASICs on: February 05, 2014, 07:10:32 AM
Vert is so volatile right now, but none the less. Even the most experienced trade would sell at .015btc.

You could of bought back in right now at .012-.013 btc if you have THAT much faith in vert

Not if there is no volume to support it, look at the numbers.   I guess this works if you have 50 vtc,  not if you have 3,000. Its a gamble to play that game until volume stablizes
829  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VTC] Vertcoin - Adaptive N-factor in Scrypt - No more ASICs on: February 05, 2014, 06:50:21 AM
People dumping on cryptsy are inbred...
I'd dump at .015, if I had any. You'd be brain dead not to.

nope,  go watch the market,   I'm going to hear the same crap tomorrow I've been hearing all day "omg, I sold yesterday at X and now its Y"    Sure at some point it has to stop.  But 2/3rds of crypto doesn't even know about this coin yet, its 'hardly' on cryptsy without even a real announcement yet.  Anyone wanting to cash out is watching it like a hawk and cashing out, and the market is inhaling the coins.

I don't see how this could possibly go down dramatically unless several ten thousands of vtc are in limbo waiting to be insta-dumped, and even then,  it might only take a few hours/days at this rate to gooble them up,   then what will happen?

I'm not saying its going to be $50, but I've been watching this for 16 hours a day the last week, and its the juggernaut.

Trend analysis for Vertcoin on Google.

how the crap does google track this?!
831  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VTC] Vertcoin - Adaptive N-factor in Scrypt - No more ASICs on: February 05, 2014, 05:33:34 AM

dude VTC is far from innovative. Asic prevention will only kick in in about two years, according to the chart on the OP (lol.) By then we will have moved on seomthing much better
I fail to see why ppl arent dumping it.

"Adaptive N-Factor" such BS branding. oh lawd

Wrooong. It's already ASIC proof against any scrypt asic that's why verts hashrate right now is just 50% of litecoins.
Also the schedule isn't fixxed, the devs can always fork if asics WOULD come for a specific N before N changes which would render them useless and would be a huge money waste because they couldn't mine a day.
It is and will be asic proof.

We'll have moved to something much better?
What do you think should be done better?
If you have constructive cirtics to improve this coin just tell us your ideas. VTC is open to changes.

Right now I see no problems with Vertcoin technically.

I think the crappers are missing the point.   N-factor *already* makes asics cringe.    Why do you think our GPU's have such a hard time with this? a Generic Scrypt ASIC for LTC will not mine VTC well.   Perhaps not even as close as GPU's mine VTC now due to the memory requirement.    Memory is one of the highest cost aspects of ASIC.  SHA256 requires very little, scrypt,  *much* more,  N-factor is magnitudes above that.
In its current form, unless N-factor coins become more common even at a billion dollar Market cap, it may take a long time for someone to develop N-factor asics that are superior to AMD's next-gen chips.
833  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VTC] Vertcoin - Adaptive N-factor in Scrypt - No more ASICs on: February 05, 2014, 04:51:07 AM
Some advice,  If you ARE going to sell on cryptsy... Please earn more $ for yourself by selling at a set price instead of selling 'at market'  You will make more $ and keep the value up.

also,  Please don't sell coins, until there has been at least a little bit of time after some kind of a official announcement.   The price is going up without most of cryptsy's traders even knowing VTC is live!

hooooooooooolddddddddddddddd
834  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VTC] Vertcoin - Adaptive N-factor in Scrypt - No more ASICs on: February 04, 2014, 01:48:33 AM
In the cryptocoin world a coin philosophy is everything. Good philosophy + right time = success. Scrypt ASISc are coming. Graphics cards will become useless for script mining. But graphics cards must be working. VTC is the solutions. More miners ->  harder to get a coin -> its value raises.

I was only thinking of selling some in order to put together a mining rig in order to get more coins, but think i will now keep my coins and get the cash together another way. This is flying!

When I was mining BTC in 2010/2011.   Everytime I sold BTC to buy more equipment I lost in the end.   I paid 56 BTC to buy 7gh's Jalepenos.       Think about that.
836  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VTC] Vertcoin - Adaptive N-factor in Scrypt - No more ASICs on: February 04, 2014, 01:10:19 AM
HOLD HOLD HOLD HOLD,  F'ING HOLD people.

I "STILL" think this coin is undervalued!  Greatly undervalued.

Its insanely hard to mine,
Extremely ASIC resistant
CPU Viable (slow but viable)
Nvidia Viable (not as slow, actually not bad!)
Zero Premine
Active devs that just introduced KGW into the formula making the coin even stronger.
Better coin-distribution than most other cryptos
The best/most fair launch I have ever witnessed that actually favored the 'little' miner.
This launch also included countless opportunities to buy in with BTC/LTC on coined up just a short time after release.

I think this coin is at $2.00 USD where bitcoin was at $20.00.    The question for me is not IF but when.

VTC is renewing interest and passion into crypto at a time when many professional miners ard investors are looking at the meme coins, and scrypt asics with a sour stomach and uncertainty about the future.   After hard fought battles to get Bitcoin into the realm of legitimacy in a world fixated on old ideas, and old methods.

MINE, HOLD and take care of your family later, as a reward for all this damn time we spend here obsessing over this crap.

"Long Live the Fighters!"

I checked out what the coin distribution is like address wise in Vertcoin, at least no one has 100k+ (highest single balance is 40009 vtc) in one address Tongue

How do you find out these numbers? Would be interesting to see for a whole lot of other coins as well.

I Do not know either and would like to. This is a thread showing bitcoin's distribution

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=394221.0

Anyone here care to input the VTC numbers on OP's equation I would love to see what that looks like at present. Don't know if he has a working model or not but worth looking a look.

I think that VTC's distribution will change "rapidly" in the coming days.   I think the temptation to turn a few days mining into 1.3 BTC  for those early-adopting-GPU miners will prove too hard to resist.   I suspect that VTC's wealth distribution will crumble downward into many more addresses as we fully breach the .001 barrier and start moving into the .001x territory.   Not many people can resist these levels of return if they had been buying VTC's  back before .0001    My 2cents.

Check this:

My first coin launch but that is the first horizontal wall I have seen. Implicit is price seems not much of a factor in selling  decision. Yes that will change but the 100 sell wall is just a fencepost, there is no volume above it.

How do we zoom in these charts?  They are good charts, but I cannot see them well!

This is really great morning Cheesy

I bought for 1 btc at night @ 0.0007 and even this was trementous investment Cheesy
I bet even now hard buying will bring extreme profits in future.. this coin just burns!

Anyway

WHAT IS WITH KILOVOLT???
I have it as primary pool but it is just reconnecting to bitcrush Sad(

I still think this is a amazing time to BUY,  we are hitting .001x right now,  Litecoin is valued at .022,  roughly valued at 22X that of Vertcoin.   I think VTC will continue to close this gap.   Perhaps in one month I will say the same thing,  "This is a great time to BUY!  VTC is only valued at .01,  Litecoin is valued at 11X that of VTC, Buy now!"

Actually I am pretty sure I've said in numerous posts at much lower prices that everyone should buy!

Smiley

Here is hoping!

I'm pretty sure the 2016 block adjustment + extremely low difficulty setting was ONLY chosen so that the dev (and whoever was there on the first day) could make a killing in number of coins minted. You guys are aware that almost 10.000 blocks or 500.000 VTC and hence about HALF of all coins in existence were mined on the first day because of these "unfortunate" and "accidental" settings? http://explorer.vertcoin.org/chain/Vertcoin?hi=9499&count=500

In other words, about 17 days worth of coin creation happened within 15h. This would have not been possible if VTC had a fast difficulty adjustment. So I think this setting was intentional at the beginning. But it can/should be changed now. Wink

Eh. Wrong!! to bad your too late for the party, but I found out about this coins a days or so after it came out.
It was on 1 difficulty for like 4 days. Anyone could have grabbed some serious coins those first few days. I did pretty good seeing as I have only have one GPU.

Care to substantiate your claim?

And by serious coin you surely mean 1000-5000 coins, but nothing like the 500.000 that were handed over in the first 15h. Just look at the block explorer link I've posted - difficulty started at <0.000x and was still <=0.038 after 15h.

I don't really mind if the dev gets some easy coin as an incentive for his work - work that hopefully occurs in the past and future. I hold some coin as well. What I dislike is the dishonesty saying that it was "not" premined at all. A low difficulty at the beginning is similar to a premine, so vertcoin has an effective premine of at least 0.5%. We should be at block ~8000 but we are at ~23000.

It's not similar to a premine at all. Anyone watching this forum could have jumped on mining Vertcoin when it was launched Jan 11th. A premine locks out anyone other than the devs and whoever else he gives the wallet to.

This coin is the opposite of any kind of a premine,

It was announced days in advance,  Launched fairly with ANN post bumps,  I showed up a couple hours late to the party and the competition was FIERCE,  with 2 fast desktop CPU's and 4 cloud servers I only mined 300 coins in the first day and a half.

After that I was even half a day late to the GPU party and I put my GPU's on that and that is where the majority of my coins came from.

I have amassed more VTC than most have just by being a casual miner who has been aggressive about sticking with it.

I wasn't even close to being first out of the gate.
