821  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are your reasons for adopting cryptocurrency? on: August 30, 2023, 02:12:27 PM
To become financially free and to keep my money far away from the centralized banks and the government, Bitcoin fits my need that's why I enjoyed researching Bitcoin before I started investing in Bitcoin, I am just grateful that Bitcoin hasn't failed me, it was a very big battle for me, believing in something that hasn't been proven that it will survive in the future, I'm glad I believe in myself and I keep pursuing the goals.

Today my life gets better with Bitcoin and crypto investment compare to few years ago, and this is how I am able to live a good life presently, if I was out of Bitcoin I don't know what would be the foundation of my future today.

Fear of missing out is not the oy reason why people are investing in Bitcoin, what is there to miss out if you don't even know that Bitcoin existed? Many people want to make more money as their jobs isn't paying them enough, they look for means to invest too.
822  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Face unlock on bitcoin wallet devices on: August 30, 2023, 12:30:17 PM
Fingerprint is more secured than face recognition methods to unlocking your smartphones, and all together, it's not safe to rely on both when you have some Bitcoin in your mobile wallet, it's better to invest on a hardware wallet and move your Bitcoin out of your mobile wallet into the hardware wallet.

Mobile wallets are good for daily transactions and I only leave some few hundreds in dollars worth of Bitcoin on such wallets, even if something happens it's just $100+ worth of Bitcoin anyway.

Some people are trying so hard to avoid investing on a hardware wallet, my advice is it's not worth the risk, hardware wallet is the best place to keep your Bitcoin for long term, forget face ID locks and fingerprint security.
823  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can money be saved in gambling sites? on: August 30, 2023, 11:44:48 AM
When you start storing money on a online casino what type of agreement you signed with the platform owners? Are you given the blank check book for withdrawal whenever you are ready to withdraw? Are you given an ATM card? MasterCard or other Debit card? Nothing I guess, is there any Bank related with the casino name?

It's like you are an alien or a newborn baby that came out of space, you can't tell it to my face that you know nothing about this, that you don't know this is impossible, casinos have nothing to do with payment solutions platforms where you can use to shop online or anything, they are far away from Banks and online payment solutions.

I feel like OP is intentionally just messing with us, he pretends to be a fool all because he is out of ideas on what to post on the forum.
824  Economy / Gambling / Re: Cloudbet - account closure request not satisfacted on: August 30, 2023, 10:17:06 AM
I think you will forever be addicted to gambling, you decided to close your account and your wish was granted, later you yourself requested to open the account again and they did, why are you now blaming the online casino for opening the account again?

When you asked that your account should be closed, why not take your leave and never come back? The problem is inside of you, this is not a way to beat your gambling addiction, you want others to help you fight your addiction but what you don't understand is you are the only person that can beat the addiction.

I don't blame the online casino, I blame you for blaming the casino because they reopened your account, something you made them do, now you are using their ToS against them, you aren't getting out of your addiction, maybe never, because your habit show that you are the problem.
825  Economy / Gambling / Re: Thought's on many major fiat-crypto payment gateways ditching casino business's? on: August 29, 2023, 12:50:48 PM
Fiat payment on line casino is not necessary,  because most people don't use them for gambling, people prefer gambling off Fiat, they use other payment options via Crypto, haven't you heard that since crypto become a thing many numbers of new gamblers are now using crypto to gamble online, this has been ongoing since the last virus outbreak (covid19).

I have used some online casinos and the only payment options I choose are all crypto, Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Dogecoin, few don't even have any other payment options than crypto, so to me it doesn't matter, if you are planning to run an online casino, crypto payment is more than OK.
826  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Accepting btc of tuitions payments for College/students? on: August 29, 2023, 12:10:42 PM
So far, there is no schools or universities that accepts Bitcoin payment and this can only be possible through payment solution different payment companies, for example PayPal and others, but still I have my doubt about Bitcoin as a means of payment because it's the only project running on the blockchain that's true decentralized, I believe that the government still won't like how they are not in total control of the digital currency, this is the only reason why Bitcoin is still lacking behind, it's because the rulers are running a centralized world where everything must be controllable by them.
827  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: After all these years on: August 29, 2023, 11:23:58 AM
I don't think that Bitcoin will ever be used as a day-to-day payment solution because it's more valuable than ever, for something that adds more value than before people will want to keep and hold for the long term so that they can make money from it, using such valuable asset as payment will feel like a waste to many people.

I don't have any problem if Bitcoin never becomes a payment solution, What many want is more money and that's why they are in Bitcoin, as far as Bitcoin keeps adding more value then investors are very much satisfied.

For those expecting Bitcoin to be friends with banks and centralized companies around the world let's not forget that Bitcoin will remain decentralized, I don't think it will be easy to see this happen, it's under probability.
828  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Still not a safe practice even if it works on: August 29, 2023, 10:34:19 AM
You will never know, they might use it on you if you one day win a jackpot, I am not saying stake.com is capable of such an act but you will never know.

If you want to gamble on any online casino it's better to always play safe, VPN will one day ruin your gambling experience for you because.

Even premium VPN servers do some silly things too.

IP Address do change as time goes on.

Even DNS can change while you are still connected to a certain location.

Here is my question regarding VPN and casinos, are there some countries where you can't use a VPN to operate a casino? How will anyone know that I am connected via VPN to any online casino? If this is possible, then the government is spying on his on people, but which country upholds such laws?
829  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Am I using the right plan? on: August 28, 2023, 04:43:24 PM
I don't think they will listen to your idea, there is something you are not getting and I will make you understand.

1. It is possible that they know it's a scam strategy or Ponzi scheme, so you telling them is like getting on their nerves.

2. They will surely prefer this over Bitcoin invest, why? Most people likes and prefer something that turns into money in a very short period of time.

3. It's not about the interest they will make or they are making, the question is how the money is generating more money, how is the money been put to work? This is what I always ask those that invest in such Ponzi and they mostly walk away because they don't have an answer.

It's clear and easy to know if something is scam, it's not easy to make money, yet a platform request you to make deposit and double your money in a week or two, no, nothing works in such way, unfortunately, many understand and still choose to keep doing it.
830  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I go with Bitcoin or Altcoins for the upcoming bull run cycle? on: August 28, 2023, 03:35:23 PM
There is money to be made from both, but you will expose yourself to more risks with altcoins, I just feel like this is the best time to start accumulating altcoins too, some will be 100x and some will be 1000x but many more will not survive on the long run, just understand that investing in altcoins has a big disadvantage over investing in Bitcoin.

The volatility of the crypto market affects altcoins more than Bitcoin, so invest less into altcoins since they are more risky and invest more in Bitcoin.

I invested 60% of my money into Bitcoin and 40% into altcoins, and I keep this going since I am still accumulating both every weeks and months.
831  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Importance of Gambling to the society on: August 28, 2023, 02:10:14 PM
This board has a lot of topic that comprises with the negativity about gambling addiction. Let’s change it for now to support the casino we are promoting here.

Gambling is important to the society because it provides huge taxes that government use on hospitals, infrastructure and other projects to help its citizens. Monacco country is popular with their casino but they don't allow its citizen to play. This shows how important gambling in their country because they still allowed to operate it even though they don't want citizens to be involved.

In our country, Our lottery use the proceeds to donate on the health center that provides free health service to our citizens.

Even if gambling commonly view as negative by commoner. Many didn't notice how big is the contribution of gambling to the society.

What is the benefits of gambling to your society?
I won't how many online casinos are paying taxes and helping the country of operation to grow, I find it hard to believe because many casinos that are running online are not doing anything, many just turned to scam out of no where, if the government is benefiting from such online casinos the government should be able to take responsibility and find them out where ever they run to, but that's not what's happening.

I think it's better to say that all offline casinos are paying taxes but not the online, there are reasons why many scam casinos are running for years until they decide to run away with users assets and money, if they are really registered and regulated where will they run to?

Most benefits that comes from casinos into the country they are running the projects from are offline casinos, I believe that only few online casinos are paying their dues and helping the government.
832  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hypothetical Question on: August 28, 2023, 12:53:34 PM
If someone told you a guaranteed sports bet that had a 100% chance of winning, how much would you bet on it?

If you had a $10,000 bankroll, would you go all in? We’re talking 100% can’t lose bet.

Would you take out a loan? How would you go about acquiring a large sum of money if you didn’t have the capital.

Let’s say the match is starting 24 hours from now, what would be your plan to maximize your profit?

Asking for a friend  Wink
There is no such thing, this is just a misuse of words and it's not safe, even if someone knows the best bet on a game there is still a chance that it is wrong, not until the game is over and you see the end result.

So I won't advice anyone to use big money they can't afford to lose to place a bet because they believe someone is a pro at prediction, the truth is it's still prediction.

Also even if that person is very good at prediction they won't always make the right decision, there will be times where they will be wrong, what happens if you use a large amount of money that you aren't ready to lose and that bet comes unlucky? That means you lose it all.

I do not believe that anyone is a professional gambler and they don't used to losing, the only way to be a professional gambler is to manage to stay safe.
833  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What does it take to play casino? on: August 27, 2023, 04:50:02 PM
It must have capital Cry

However, which one should you be more dependent on when it comes to making money from the casino!

Is it really good luck for you?
Which basic technique to use?
I don't think there is any basic technique you can use to become a better gambler than understanding your limit, and make sure you don't use any means necessary to gamble, like taking loan or borrowing some money.

The biggest warning I have for you about gambling is depending on it to bring you financial freedom, you will find yourself in a place you never dreamt of, gambling is very risky and new gamblers need to be careful about how to gamble.

It takes a couple rounds of games to find out that gambling is all about luck, I don't need to keep warning people how risky gambling is, if they think all warnings are fads they should give it a try, they will get the result faster.
834  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: August 27, 2023, 03:46:43 PM
Many individuals with gambling addictions harbor an optimistic bias that "the next bet will be the one." It's heart-wrenching to witness gambling overshadowing all other aspects of their lives. I've personally seen friends sacrifice jobs and relationships because of this addiction. Yet, I've also observed people who gamble casually and genuinely enjoy the experience. Ultimately, gambling serves as a profound test of self-control.

Gambling is not worth the sacrifice, such people will end up regretting later when they look back on the whole effort and sacrifice they made and yet they haven't gotten anywhere, That's the most scary part of gambling, the chances of not getting anywhere is very high that's why it's better to divert your attention into something that will still keep you in good shape even if you haven't achieved your dream yet.

The sickness of gambling addiction is the boldness to forget gambling and move on, those who get addicted find it hard to do something new especially the those type that you need to start from scratch, because they have lived in a fantasy world for a while, believing that gambling is the only surest way.
835  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A must read if you are running Crypto wallet on PC on: August 27, 2023, 02:55:16 PM
If Winzip or winrar is vulnerable to attacks then why not use different app that works the same as both apps you mentioned like 7zip or better go to the original website of winrar or winzip to download the app rather than downloading from a source that you yourself are not even sure if it's safe or not. That's the problem to some people where they downloaded the app from other source even though there's an original source where you can download the file. Well, if you are sure with your desktop then there are other ways to have a wallet that isn't vulnerable to hacks or attacks.
The vulnerability affected the old versions and they are available on the official website, there is no point using other softwares since the solution to this problem is updating the software and the most important lesson for readers here is no always make sure they use up to date softwares on their PC, it doesn't have to be files extracting softwares like WinRar or Winzip, it can be other softwares, hackers spend time with versions that are old and they try to find ways to breach its security, newer updates always guarantee more security layer and better patches than the previous version.

836  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Appropriate percentage of income for gambling on: August 27, 2023, 10:51:21 AM
I use 5% of my weekly income to gamble and I can not go more than that. Sometimes I can be busy and I can spend less. If a week favours me, I will save my profit and the remaining (5% last week income) for next week gambling. According to what I heard, people spend up to 12% of their weekly income on gamble. I think it is not bad but that gives me the thinking to make a post like this on this forum. What percentage of weekly income do you think is right for gambling?
Every gambler comes from a family so the biggest part of their income must be used for the family. Gamblers usually try to spend a large portion of the money for family and other necessary expenses. But here is another thing we have to consider that this gambling may be different for those who have higher income. But overall I agree with you that if someone spends 5 percent of his income on gambling it will not be a burden for anyone. But in this case, even if it is 7 percent to 10 percent that will be acceptable.
A gambler must keep the family expenses in mind if he gambles under a family. After meeting the family's expenses, he has to keep a certain portion to participate in gambling later. In this case, if a gambler participates in gambling professionally and earns without facing any losses, he can save a certain portion of his income. And if the gambler faces losses rather than gains then most of his income has to be spent on gambling leaving aside family support for which he later lives in poverty.

That's right, family life imposes very large expenses on the player. Imagine that you have your own expense items, and in addition there are unforeseen expense events - a tooth ached, a shoe broke, and so on. If you are a family man, then the expenses for your wife are also imposed on you - after all, she is most likely on maternity leave, and her income is very small. Well, plus to all this, there is a child whose expenses are almost impossible to plan, they are chaotic and large.

Therefore, if a family man wants to continue gambling, his income must be huge. Because in family life, you never know how much money you will have left in a week.
When you start having children they will be a big change on how you save money and how you invest, there is no thing as budget for the family, you will keep spending and spending and there won't be anything to keep the account about your spending, the only way to stay ahead is to double how much your are originally making before you get married and start having kids, up your game and there will be enough for investments and savings.

The truth is this won't be easy for many people, as they are basically living on their salary earnings, this is why I am not a fan of working under someone and earning a salary every month, the room for growth won't be wide enough to do as you please.

As for those who are not salary earners, maybe those who have their own business it's easier to work on something new that can start generating you extra income every month, the difference is you will have the time to learn something new, there will be no boss waiting for you at the office door to talk trash on you about why you are late.
837  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A must read if you are running Crypto wallet on PC on: August 25, 2023, 06:43:33 PM
If you have Crypto above $10k, you should just buy a separate device with Linux on it to just operate your Wallet. Keep it disconnected from the Internet and just connect once you want to do a transaction or something. This way you can save a lot of money and prevent most of these attacks. You cannot be up to date with every new attack going on in the Cryptospace, so keeping your system generally safe should be the priority.
yeah even 5k is enough to have a wallet only pc.
Phillipma1957 you know better about crypto wallets, and you know that some coins can't be kept on hardware wallet because they are not supported yet, for example, this new PoW coins like IronFish and few others, they have their separate blockchain and requires running their own windows wallet to receive your the coins from the exchange or through mining them.

Also many people like running Nodes themselves to make more money, we can't do without windows PC when it comes to making money even if you have a hardware wallet, few things will keep making you to go back.
838  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A must read if you are running Crypto wallet on PC on: August 25, 2023, 06:19:30 AM

Before you freak out, there is a fix and it's the simplest of all, just update your WinRar to the latest version and you are good.

I have just one question; if I should download the old version that’s prone to attacks from the official website. Will I still be open to those attacks or is it the the free versions from unknown sources.

I know that download softwares from unofficial sites are not advisable as they could contain softwares that were altered or softwares that contains malware that poses security risks to your system, so I just want to know if the official versions still have the bug or not.
Go to the official website and download the latest version, stay away from every old versions either through other third party websites or the official website, what you want to look for it's the latest version of Winrar.

Right now the latest version of WinRar is 6.23 and the vulnerability is already been patched on this 6.23 version.
839  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My dream is coming close. on: August 24, 2023, 10:10:21 AM
You are not alone, I also have the dream of getting some Bitcoin before 2025, but I believe the chances of making a fortune with Bitcoin is now very slim compared to years back, I know many people don't want to hear this but it's a fact, i do not expect Bitcoin to bring me x15 or x20 like other risky projects, it's not possible anymore, until a wider ray of hope shined down on Bitcoin adoption, maybe in some several years to this time. I am only using Bitcoin to leverage my crypto portfolio, to stay on a more safer side, Bitcoin investment is more safer than every other coins in crypto space but many other coins will get people rich than Bitcoin, this is why we have to expose ourselves to some risks, I don't see why anyone will say no to this, many are into gambling anyway and they take risks here and there, I'd say it's worth the risk.
840  Other / Beginners & Help / A must read if you are running Crypto wallet on PC on: August 24, 2023, 09:07:03 AM
There is a new danger lurking around PC users that many may not know about, especially those that store Bitcoin and coins on PC wallets, please spare me a little bit of your precious time.

The first set of free softwares we like installing on a PC when we just installed a Windows OS or when we just buy a new laptop or Desktop PC is WinZip and WinRAR, there is something going on lately that I need you to know about, though it's been a month old.

It's easier to just go online and search for Winrar, either it's old version or not, we don't care, they all work very well for extracting files.

Well there is catch, WinRar software is vulnerable to attacks now, there is a problem in this software that lets remote attackers to execute some codes through the affected version on RarLab Winrar.

This vulnerability get your PC compromised without you having a clue.

Before you freak out, there is a fix and it's the simplest of all, just update your WinRar to the latest version and you are good.

Possible Threats if you leave this unfixed

1. Attackers can use this vulnerability to execute codes in the context of the current process.

2. If you don't get rid of left over software on your PC they could be used as a path to get to your files, e.g passwords and crypto-related things on your PC.

3. You can be monitored without you knowing, all your typing like seed phrases and co can easily be known by the attackers, and not even your DEX activities can secure your wallet from getting compromised.

Bonus Advice

4. 7Zip is open source and it should be your primary choice.

The lesson I personally learned from this is to always keep your software updated, and always get rid of software you don't use anymore, since you don't use them anymore it's easier to feel like you don't need to update them, and vulnerability like this mostly happens with old or outdated software, New Patches gets rid of the biggest problems on computers, it's not something to joke with.
