Was really shitty to miss the over 2.5 goals in all late games yesterday. I actually bet on Lazio to win, so when Immobile put in that penalty I thought I was back in business. Then both teams proceeded to not really want to win the game haha.

Shame about not betting on PSG. I know they had Neymar and Mbappe on the lineup but I thought United were going to smash it. Even an own goal couldn't help them.

Glad I stuck to my guns on the away PSG win but it was risky. Shame I missed out on the correct score by one goal though. Not sure how Fred got away with just a yellow card for that pussy 'headbutt' players seem to like doing. Normally that's a straight sending off. I didn't watch the game but apparently VAR got involved and changed the card but didn't show that in the highlights so not sure if he initially gave the red or didn't give anything as it looks like he didn't see it. If he viewed it on the VAR monitor though I'm not sure how it wasn't a sending off. He got sent off in the second half for a second yellow but looked like he might have got the ball to me.

Just quickly put mine in as well, provisionally though. Still a lot of teams to play in the Champions and Europa leagues and of course any injuries or positive covid tests picked up from them. Apparently 5 Newcastle players and 2 staff have tested positive, but it doesn't say if they were symptomatic or not. I still don't really trust those tests. Doesn't seem like any professional athlete has suffered with the disease other than testing positive either.

Not sure I like the idea of 'concussion substitutes'. If there's doubt then just sub them off or keep them off pitch whilst the medical team decide whether they're ok or not. Teams would probably take advantage of this and claim any old flick to the head is possibly a concussion so they can get an extra sub out there and we all know how easy players go down when any part of the opposition team goes anywhere near their head.

Khabib's real meeting with Dana is to create a partnership with the UFC for the promotion of his new fighting league. It appears that he will never fight again in the octagon.



UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has made his first major move to continue his association with MMA after his retirement by buying Russian MMA promotion Gorilla Fighting Championship, according to reports.
The promotion, better known as GFC, operates out of Khabib's native Dagestan, and last staged an event, GFC 29, on October 16, with two more shows set to take place on Dec. 4 and 19 to round out its 2020 schedule.

But now, according to Russian journalist Azamat Bostanov, Khabib has purchased the GFC promotion, which will be renamed Eagle Fighting Championship (EFC). The purchase price? $1 million.

The news may shed some light on the "something interesting" Khabib plans to discuss with UFC president Dana White, with a partnership with the UFC to have the newly-branded EFC shows streamed worldwide on UFC Fight Pass a distinct possibility.

Interesting. Dana should probably try wrangle another fight out of him as part of the deal to broadcast the shows. Seems Khabib is more interested in trying to get MMA accepted by the Olympics right now though:

Don't forget tonight's games. A few decent match-ups tonight, but don't know whether to watch the Liverpool/Ajax game or ATL Madrid/Bayern one. I was gonna back Liverpool to win at home as they won 1-0 on the reverse fixture away but but they've been a bit shaky recently so not sure now. I think it will be narrow either way. Could be goals in the Bayern match. I'm looking forward to the Man U / PSG game tomorrow the most though. Man United surprised me with the 2-1 away win but not sure they'll do it again even at home but they're so wildly inconsistent it's hard to predict what team will turn up.

Well you certainly called that one. It was the highest scoring game of the night at 2-3. Didn't expect Inter to win though. Surprised Shaktar beat Real as well. Only got a mere three points for the exact Liverpool/Ajax score.

I've got three draws for the games tonight. Not sure what to go for the Man U game though. Had a PSG win away win but might change that to a draw. United will probably fall apart at some point like they usually do.

so we should be rude? and ungrateful? or just pad our posts with more nonsensical words so it does not get deleted? If the purpose of the thread is to do a raffle or a sale - then posts thanking the OP are befitting that thread. Sometimes instead of just saying "thank you" is a bullshit post, let's delete it - maybe look at why the person is saying thanks. Is it because they just spent 1.2 BTC buying an item - or is it because they said "thanks" because they simply read a post?

To say that both situations are the same and to delete posts as such is not logical. So much trash is allowed on the forums, scammers, ban evaders, bounties and such yet what is deleted? Common courtesy and gratitude.

If you want something changed then petition the admins. This can be done both for requesting new mods and rule changes. Just create threads in Meta about each issue and maybe theymos will take note or act on them. Theymos doesn't like to have rules set in stone anyway and hence why they're the "unofficial" ones. With that being said, rules are always open to interpretation by each staff member as well. One mod may see them as unsubstantial and unnecessary whilst another may not be bothered by them and either ignore them or mark them as bad (though the latter probably wouldn't be appropriate unless the rules are changed). I see both arguments as valid though and mprep didn't do anything wrong by the rules, but I do think it's harsh removing them and maybe there are certain rules that should be amended or changed. At the end of the day it's common courtesy to thank someone and not doing so could seem rude or ungrateful. I think people should be allowed to thank people for something without writing an essay also, but I also see how it could be an issue if there's just pages and pages of people just writing 'thanks' etc and we saw this abuse in the alt coin section with aidrops and giveaways etc. Maybe there needs to be more discussion on this topic or a thanks button or something implemented. I think that would be a better solution personally.

Yes, mods can see who reported the post, but we cannot see who handled it. Only an admin has that info. Reports can only be handled, marked as bad or 'ignored' but ignoring them is just for that individual mod and the others can still act on them. If they're left in the queue for a while eventually they're expunged and the report will be left as unhandled to that person. The only way to remove reports from the queue is to mark them as handled or bad. Personally I would just ignore these sorts of ones but others may not. I can see how they could be considered bumps but they have relevant information to be left up as well so I guess you're going to have to try find the mod that removed them and state your case. Try PM the mods of that sub and the other globals or wait for them to hopefully post here.

Ah, very good point. I wasn't aware teams were already through. I'll probably skip the Bayern game then unless they surprise me with the line-ups. They're playing second in the league RB Leipzig on Saturday as well so they might rest a lot of players. Liverpool/Ajax it is then since they're fighting it out for first place and Atalanta are join third with Ajax on 7 points so it's pretty close in that group.

LTU_btc & famLFC have yet to make their picks and there's two early kick offs happening in less than an hour.

In any case, OP, if you want to thank someone in a post (and I hate to even suggest this), perhaps try padding the post a little bit with more content.  At least then it's not likely to get reported and deleted.  And yes, moderation here is strict as far as low-value posts go.

This is even worse in my opinion and it's what we saw when campaigns started requiring minimum character counts on their posts. Users will just fluff their posts to meet the minimum making their posts even more unsubstantial and spammy when it should be analysed on the content of the post.

I see it simply as a means to ensure some lazy mod gets paid. And by lazy - I do not necessarily mean they do nothing but that that what they are doing is being done lazily - without actually understanding what is being done - simple "hey they said thank you - delete that fucking spam!" - is maybe suitable elsewhere on the forums but it is not that cut/dry here in collectibles.

And if they do not understand that - then they should not be moderating this area of the forums. Let them get paid for deleting spam elsewhere.

I doubt that this is the case. Staff aren't paid on a per deleted post basis and you could probably delete a thousand posts and it wouldn't make a difference to their pay. It's more about how many reports you handle and given that these weren't even reported then it's a moot point. There's more than enough reports to handle and staff really don't need to go looking for extra things to do. I agree that these sorts of thank you posts should probably be left alone though as they're not doing any harm. I don't think just giving them merit is ideal either. Not everyone has that much merit to go around but anyone could build up a lot of merit just by doing giveaways and I'm sure people do that already, but it would become more prevalent if merit became the common way to thank people for a giveaway. Maybe we need some sort of thank you button or something here instead.

A self-moderated thread wouldn't exclude it from being moderated by staff or abiding by the forum rules. Self-modded just means that the thread started can moderate it how they want and to be aware of that, but mods can and will enforce the rules there.

Well I got the Villa loss prediction right but nobody saw Leicester losing. Only one person backed the draw as well.

Ridiculous round this week. 6 people sharing the last place with a mere one point seems unfair to give the wooden spoon to trofo  Grin. Luckily VAR gave me some valuable points on the West Ham game. I didn't watch it but when I got the notification that Villa had scored and equalised in the last minutes of injury time I was pretty annoyed that I'd be robbed of some well needed points from this round then good old VAR cancelled it. Just watched the highlights and looks like another tight VAR controversy:



I'd love to see the view from the linesman. It looks like another one of those that if you were looking straight down the line it might actually be onside. The VAR always looks from behind and often it's a bad angle.

Can you believe west Ham are now fight in the table? They snook up there. The league is still really open so far. No team has overly impressed me so far.

I don't know what you define as an exit scam but if that was his intention from the start he probably wouldn't have paid the other loans back or made some repayments on this one. As for the account, I don't really know how much they go for these days but I'd assume a decent Legendary with a bit of trading history and feedback could get upwards of $1000. Taking out loans is probably easier and safer than selling your account though.

Is it just me thinking that if you take more than a couple of loans there is probably something wrong with you? What were the reasons given for all those loans?

Some people just do them because it makes their life a bit easier in the real world, and some people probably take them because they're a gambling addict, but I reckon most of the loans taken here aren't needed at all and people just do them to easily build up feedback by taking them out and repaying them straight away. Some people will do it for legitimate reasons (if you can call it that) because they want to appear more trustworthy and others will do it for the long con. Taking out small loans to gain trust is probably the easiest way to scam someone as you build up trust with the person bit by bit, slowly but surely and they're lulled into a false sense of security. I don't know whether that happened here or not but as I said before lending money, especially in bitcoin, is a very risky business and if they run into issues in the real world or the price rises as it has done it will become next to impossible to pay it back and the only ramifications for disappearing are a ruined account.

We'll he's certainly the strong favourite but so he was for the Ruiz fight and look what happened there. I'll be watching the fight for sure. Luckily it's on Dazn so I don't have to pay the £25 for PPV.

A pretty unpredictable round this week. I'm on a mere 2.5 points so far but it seems about 3.5 was the average score this week. Might even be able to get the yellow cap though if I get tonight's two game's scores right (and the ones above me don't). I thought I was going to get the 2-1 Southampton win but then they went and blew it. Looks like Ollie is saved yet again. I think Arteta might be the first to go the way Arsenal are playing right now.

Just started watching Arsenal - Wolves and immediately there was a bad injury to Jimenez, not sure if he is even conscious. It looks really bad and physios/doctors are administering help for more then 5 minutes now. Hopefully it is nothing serious, keeping my fingers crossed.

I did not see what happened exactly, looks like head collision with David Luiz. Luiz seems to be fine with bad cut on the head.

Didn't watch the game but caught the highlights. They didn't even show the incident or comment on it.

He/She managed to pay another past due loan to @harizen when he/she came back and joined the Duelbits campaign. There were other instances of delays but he still paid. Although the loans he/she took in our local lending isn't as huge as what's owed to you, I'm more inclined to believe that @asu is really in a tight spot but he/she still has the intention of paying you back.

Lending people money in bitcoin can turn honest people into dishonest ones pretty quickly. They might have every intention of paying it back but if they're unable to or the price rises significantly then it's all too easy to just disappear as there's probably little to no real world ramifications and the only damage done to them is a ruined account. That's what it looks like has happened here as he popped back to make repayments when he could have just disappeared but if he's under financial difficulty in real life then its going to be very difficult to make repayments back and would be far easier to just go awol.

Lending people money here is incredibly risky and doesn't really seem worth it in my opinion because all it takes is one person to run off with a decent chunk and your business will probably be in the red overall. You have to remember this question: why are they lending it in the first place? It's either because obviously they don't have sufficient money, which is already a red flag, or they're just borrowing to pay it back and build feedback up. Some will do this for legitimate reasons and others will do it for the long con

I'd assume that his account is more likely to be hacked given the recent wave of inactive accounts that have been taken over.
When you say "taken over" do you mean they've become active after a long period of inactivity, or has there been a proven hack?  I would think that when bitcoin shot up past $19k, that would incentivize quite a few members (and/or their alt accounts) to come back and try to get into a signature campaign.

The accounts that have been spreading the 'Ethereum pill' malware. There's hundreds of them. You might not have noticed them if you haven't gone in the alt coin board though as they mainly seem to post in the eth thread there. They're all very old accounts that have been inactive for years so they probably just targeted ones with weak passwords and bruteforced them. Kinda stupid really because they get banned straight away and they could have probably made more money just by selling the accounts as there's a lot of decently ranked ones there.

Agreed.  As I said before, I've had a suspicion that nullius is Lauda's alt account, but it's just that: a suspicion, with no evidence.  But Lauda had been a part of bitcointalk for a very long time, and I do find it hard to believe that he'd just abandon his account for good.  We'll see, I guess.

I really doubt that nullius is lauda's alt. I don't think lauda is gone though. I'm sure he's on another account. Nullius just seems the same sort of autist that timelord is, but more pretentious.

Thought the Leeds game was gonna be another 0-0 thriller like it was with Arsenal last week but Leeds went and got the goal late on. I thought they dominated the first half and deserved the win, even though I backed them to lose. At least Leeds aren't conceding a ridiculous amount like they were, but these last two games shorelines really haven't been indicative of their performances.

Just popping on to say what a joke the PL officiating is atm. VAR is ruining the game, I’m so fed up with it. Every week something screws us, getting so annoying. You can’t even celebrate a goal any more because there’s always a good chance VAR are going to **** you.

The last penalty was harsh, even though there was minor contact. Had he not purposely gone down with the amateur dramatics it wouldn't have been given. Not surprisingly nobody backed the draw but two people did go with the 1-0 home win.

Thank you for your reply.  No, I would not mind being seen at work or otherwise publicly looking at a Courbet painting.  Neither would the employees at the museum where it is on public display.  Neither would anyone else who is not an ignorant rube.  Indeed, it is hilariously ridiculous to suggest that this forum has higher standards than this workplace:

This forum isn't a museum. A 16-man gangbang is a place of work but it doesn't belong in the office, nor do images of it even if they were painted by Courbet or any other French painter. You can certainly browse as many pictures as you want in your office if that so pleases you, but a lot of people here don't work in a museum or the Vatican and a lot of users likely won't want to be caught with vaginas on their screen - art or not - not to mention a lot of bosses and co-workers probably wouldn't appreciate it either. Sadly, I'm sure just calling them 'ignorant, uncultured rubes' wouldn't save them from their jobs or a disciplinary warning either.

In my professional life, and socially for me, it has also always been unacceptable to call someone “a cunt”.

It's not against the rules, but trolling and being a nuisance is so you can't just start screaming racial abuse at people just to try rile them up. It's probably an ad hominem most of the time and likely off-topic in most threads anyway. Abusing people based on their race tells me a lot about them though and these people usually aren't worth your time and if this sort of thing offends someone they should just utilise the ignore button and problem solved. This whole cancel culture trying to silence anyone who says something they don't like is getting out of hand and it's a very slippery slope (hope I just didn't offend Vietnamese now: https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=slope).

Most people here are pseudononymous, if people know you're of a race, you've probably told them (and potentially too much).

I think most of the abuse here is generated towards groups or nationalities with derogatory terms like pajeet etc and most forum member's nationality probably isn't a secret most of the time.

That being said: I love that it's allowed to say (almost) anything you want on Bitcointalk. It's up to each user how they handle that freedom.

You have super thick skin, so you never get mad when people say you are a dirty bot, but some people may consider racist calling someone a bot.
And don't even get me started about gender topic, and the fact that  we have two genders in forum profile settings, but maybe people will ask to add all other 6538 invented new age genders.
