821  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Dot-BIT project / Namecoin website on: May 10, 2011, 02:07:41 PM
So, I registered a domain, and set the nameservers to ns1.slicehost.net, ns2.slicehost.net, and  ns3.slicehost.net. How do I add a dns record for a .bit website?
822  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Dot-BIT project / Namecoin website on: May 10, 2011, 05:46:18 AM
So, are domains registered through namecoin anonymous, seeing as it's just a modified bitcoin? Would this be considered a darknet, like .onion or .i2p sites? I don't quite know what I'm talking about, but I'm just wondering.

Lol, how do I get my namecoin address? I'm not used to the console version.
825  Other / Obsolete (selling) / Re: Selling Namecoins for BTC (Volume Pricing) on: May 10, 2011, 02:58:28 AM
Sent. Also, I got it working already. Smiley I'm on linux, so I was having a lot of trouble compiling it.
826  Economy / Marketplace / Re: The Million Bitcoin Homepage! on: May 10, 2011, 01:08:13 AM
I, for one, think that is a great use of the page! XD I never thought bitcoin would eventually lead me to goatse!
827  Other / Obsolete (selling) / Re: [SELL] Namecoins for BTC on: May 09, 2011, 11:58:31 PM
500 namecoins please. Smiley First, I need to figure out how to get namecoind running, though. Think you could guide me through this?
828  Other / Obsolete (selling) / Re: Selling Namecoins, 75 for 1 BTC! on: May 09, 2011, 11:42:13 PM
I'm not completely sure what this is, but it sounds like I can use these to get domain names? If so, I've got ฿1 for you.

EDIT:
Actually, I've got ฿5 for you
EDIT:
Found another seller, sorry. Sad

Cheesy Ordering as soon as I can!
830  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: adf.ly is so annoying! on: May 09, 2011, 05:52:11 AM

You now know, I voted "thumbs-down", but it is only my opinion.
I could have kept quiet, played it safe, and not risked "making enemies", but that is not easy for me to do.   Tongue

I do not see you as an enemy, but as a friend who is trying to warn me about possible outcomes of my project. Smiley I like to take everyones opinions into consideration, and I definitely see the reasoning behind yours. Your opinion is valid, and even though it hasn't completely changed my mind, I have not disregarded it.
831  Other / Obsolete (selling) / Re: Steel Chainmail Armor (and more) for BTC on: May 09, 2011, 05:28:09 AM

I have 1 trust rating on #bitcoin-otc, and there is a few people on this forum I have done business with that I could ask to vouch for me if you're worried.
834  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: adf.ly is so annoying! on: May 09, 2011, 04:35:49 AM
IMO:
If you are a "cold, heartless, selfish money-grabber" (which you do have every right to be) who does not care about people, then go ahead and introduce this horrible plan into the Bitcoin community.

If you understand this fact:
Quote
warning about clicking on adf.ly links. that site is used to shorten links BUT also makes money for the person who provided the link by forcing you to view an ad before seeing actual content. this person is wasting your time and using you to make money.
~Source
Then please consider not doing the project, thank you.
I personally haven't actually used adf.ly yet, but I first discovered it when people were using it to redirect to the downloads of their mods on the minecraft forum. These people were not using people to make money. They had made great, free mods that people really liked, and people using their adf.ly links was just kind of like something to help them out a little. Yes, people have to go through an annoying ad, but they were getting something back. I understand that some users will just start spamming adb.tc links everywhere for money, but I think this can also be a way to help out developers who give freely to the community, but maybe just want a little bit in return. Is anyone else opposed to this? If I get enough people to say so on this thread, I'll put an end to this project, but I personally think this may become something good.

Someone start living in Ventura, California! I want to turn my cash to Bitcoins without going through the bank!
836  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: adf.ly of Bitcoin on: May 09, 2011, 03:22:27 AM
Still looking for what you guys would like to see in terms of pricing. I should have this up pretty soon after the prices are decided. Is there anyone who would like to be one of the first advertisers?

Off topic, but man! This turned out great! Wish i could've been more of a part of it! Smiley Good job.
838  Other / Obsolete (selling) / Re: SSH accounts on my slicehost vps - Ⓑ2/month on: May 08, 2011, 09:32:43 PM
Still offering this. Anyone have question or anything?
839  Other / Meta / Re: Having a user rating system without feedback.... on: May 08, 2011, 08:59:44 PM

Makes me sad that I have a -1 rating. Not necessarily because of the rating itself, but because I can't find out why. I want to know what I did wrong, and I want to fix it, and make sure that it doesn't happen again.  Sad

Don't worry, dude.  Someone was in a crappy mood this morning and decided to hand out -1 to anyone who didn't share his viewpoints.  He's probably a Facebook dumbass who recently made 250 posts, and who thinks reputation means like/dislike.  What a cunt.

Cheers,
Lol! That  actually made me  feel a lot better! XD
