821  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or Altcoin hold, sell or trade?? on: February 14, 2023, 07:05:42 PM

that's why many people say that trading is not as simple as selling at high prices and buying at low prices.

Anyone will tell you that trading is not as simple as one might think.
Trading is very complex and has many decisions to be made.

Quote
~snip~ the problem is if you don't do research on the altcoin you choose to hold for a long period of time and the price goes to zero. this also happened to me. This made me realize that every decision we make in trading, whether it's buying, selling, trading, or holding, requires speculation and in-depth research.

OP's mistake was not holding Bitcoin or Altcoin which already had good development. OP holds altcoins that are not clear how they developed to zero when held for several years. Try if 4 years ago OP held bitcoin, held and sold at this time, of course OP would have a lot of profit exceeding the capital he used. It is necessary to do research in order to know the future potential of the coin to be selected.
822  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People will choose bitcoins more if the number of cryptocurrency option is less. on: February 14, 2023, 04:51:57 PM
But this does not happen to all Altcoins, I think only certain Altcoins can be used in situations to benefit from Altcoin Volatility, in general both choices between Bitcoin and Altcoins can be profitable, when the method used is wise.
There are a lot of altcoins, and of course, if there were fewer of them, then people would be more likely to pay attention to bitcoin, but I see that there are old-timers on the forum who don’t care how many altcoins there are and how many more new ones will appear, they don’t care and they buy only bitcoin.

Indeed, this is an easy alternative when there are not too many Altcoin selection menus and will make people tend to choose Bitcoin, and this is one of the factors that will increase interest and adoption of Bitcoin, but especially for those who already understand Bitcoin, of course it will stay consistent with bitcoin, everyone is aware of this, the risks that arise will not be the same as Altcoins which are very volatile.

Bitcoin is the best investment choice for the long term and not for altcoins, because altcoins still depend on the state of bitcoin. The risks that arise will not be the same, and are more likely to be at risk for altcoins. Bitcoin has a stronger price and will not be influenced by altcoins. People who already believe in bitcoin, will not switch to an altcoin that has no future. Maybe there are some who choose altcoins, but altcoins still have the potential for development in the future.
823  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 14, 2023, 04:16:33 PM
...
I'm not sure if Neymar will leave PSG in the mid-year transfer market because PSG currently still need his role in attack. Maybe there really is a problem with the club regarding the recent decline in performance for PSG. Even if Neymar leaves PSG, of course there will be many top European clubs who will try to negotiate with him, is it possible that he will come to an EPL club? we know there is very competitive and can be a new challenge for Neymar.

Neymar is a very competitive football player, I think the same thing in this regard.  The only problem is that he has a quick injury problem.  Everyone knows that he is a top player.  If he is to leave Psg, there may be dozens of top teams willing to sign him.  Of course he can go to EPL too.  Maybe Manchester United can try their luck in this matter or Chelsea can add it to the high money they spend.
It is possible that if his choice is to go to the EPL I think he will come to Manchester United rather than Chelsea. We know that at Manchester United there are other Brazilian players such as Casemiro, Fred and Antony. I think he will adapt more quickly if he is with other Brazilian players. On the other hand, even though Neymar has a right winger position it can be a good option for Erik ten hag and of course Rashford will be shifted to become the main striker, we know that so far Weghorst has made little contribution to the red devils.

PSG's obsession is the Champions League, and even with 3 players who are at the top, Mbappé, Neymar and Messi, they still haven't got it, and to tell you the truth, they won't get it this year either.
Neymar and Mbappé don't get along and it's very visible, these ego disputes are really hurting the team. The managers will have to make a decision if they want to keep Mbappé or Neymar.
Although you guys say that there are several clubs wanting Neymar, I don't believe this, he is too problematic, too much drama.
I will write down the team that I believe he could go to if he leaves PSG: Chelsea.

I'll put a note here to remember in a few months.

But not with Mbappé, Neymar also criticized some of his teammates.
Not without reason Neymar did this, he was deeply disappointed with the results of the match against Monaco, who had lost by a score of 3-1.
PSG have suffered three defeats and one draw in the last seven matches on the Ligue 1 stage. In addition, PSG also had to accept the fact that they were eliminated from the French Cup after losing to Marseille. Because PSG is not used to losing, Neymar began to express his emotions of disappointment.

Because of his uncontrollable behavior, the PSG manager will finally include Neymar in the PSG Sell list,.

PSG management is said to have no longer been able to defend Neymar's performance. The 31-year-old striker's game itself was called inconsistent after the 2022 World Cup title.
This season he has played 27 times in all competitions. He has contributed 17 goals and 16 assists so far.
I don't know which club will accept Neymar, the player with uncontrolled emotions. But if he is accepted at Chelsea, maybe he will become the new mascot for Chelsea.
824  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers theory on BEGINNERS LUCK. on: February 14, 2023, 02:46:03 PM
The first win will be an unforgettable experience and a moment where you will believe that you will continue to be lucky.
Even though that is only the beginning and will be a trigger for you to gamble again with the winning money.
Luck is not just for beginners, but luck is random for anyone. If we do gambling in an online casino, then beginner's luck has been set in the online casino system to take advantage of the psychology of beginners to put in larger amounts of money. Make a winner at the beginning of the game, and when they have made many deposits, they will lose everything or no more wins.
825  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When to sell bitcoin before the next bear market starts? on: February 13, 2023, 11:05:44 PM
Selling is depending on your limitation you need to set a limit to avoid unnecessary loss, sometimes crypto is very hard to understand  i experience so many situation like continuous dropping of price after we buy and rising of price after we sell so many regrets and so many wrong decision it is normal for we don't know when the price rise or when it fall the important thing is that we have limit on when we sell our holdings it is better to earn small amount than nothing.
There will be times when you need to cut loss. Setting a limit will help you cut those losses before you entirely wipe out your balance based on the market's move.
And knowing when to sell your bitcoin, you've got to plan it out. As we approach to another month and we're already half of February, there could be a lot of changes in the pricing. Sometimes we think that we shouldn't sell when we're at a total loss but that's okay when you manage to cut loss when you're unsure to avoid further losses.

Setting a limit can under some circumstances also be a strategy that is prone to mistakes. What about a situation where some unexpected event creates huge positive price momentum but you set a limit? I think that everyone is well advised to keep a close eye other investments and relevant microeconomic and macroeconomic events as much as possible. Not everyone has the time to nonstop watch their investments and analyze everything and then setting limits is the least you can do. But especially when we are talking about Bitcoin there are so many things that can happen and that have an impact on the price that taking a bare minimum of time to analyze some content of the most relevant industry sources is advisable.

When there is a positive price momentum that is beyond prediction and makes the price increase very high, of course it will be a good opportunity to start selling. But when we have set a limit, it will only cut profits. But after all it depends on the initial strategy used. If the redemption limit is the price that is actually agreed upon and is the goal of profit then there is nothing wrong and nothing to regret, the important thing is that there is no loss.
Some strategies that can help you determine the selling price of Bitcoin include Technical Analysis and fundamental analysis. Fundamental analysis looks at factors such as adoption rates, regulation, and developments in the cryptocurrency ecosystem, while technical analysis looks at price charts and technical indicators to predict future price trends.
Bitcoin is more recommended for long-term investments, so the selling price of bitcoin will be more variable and more profitable in the long run. If we buy now and set the selling price at the new ATH at $100k, it is already a good target price.
826  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: In need of good trading teaching video link for beginner on: February 13, 2023, 10:41:43 PM
YouTube gives you the freedom to choose what videos you want to watch. The choice of the right video certainly depends on yourself. If you are still new and don't understand the basics of trading, then look for videos that teach tutorials on basic trading and some understanding for beginners. If you are still confused, then you need to focus on continuing to learn and try to understand what is being taught in the video.
The bitcointalk forum is just a place for you to ask questions and get the information you need. There is a lot of material to learn for beginners as well as many useful video tutorials.
827  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people don't adopt Bitcoin - they don't understand Expected Value on: February 13, 2023, 10:20:19 PM
Not many want to try an opportunity to be able to produce something bigger than they imagined. They tend not to dare to take risks and choose to do things they are used to doing before. As an investment, bitcoin can give them the opportunity to make a lot of money, but maybe people can't accept the risks, namely bitcoin price changes that are too fast, investment values are always changing or something else. Many persist with what they have done even though they have seen concrete evidence of bitcoin but it still doesn't interest them to accept something new.

a lot are still blind when it comes to crypto market. what i mean here is that, they may have heard, seen, read about bitcoin or other crypto-related news, but the grasp of understanding it is still not there. definitely, if you have no knowledge about a certain thing, you don't want to take risk. hence, a lot are still preferring the traditional banking method and other payment methods. but once some of these people educate themselves what crypto or bitcoin is, they will slowly calm down and not against about it. it is only a matter of educating yourself about a certain matter to understand what's going on. if you don't know what's going on, surely, you wouldn't want to do anything about it.

Some ordinary people who still haven't studied bitcoin and cryptocurrency will of course only generalize that bitcoin and other crypto are the same, there is no difference. it is caused indeed due to a lack of knowledge about bitcoin and what benefits it will provide. They don't understand what the advantages of bitcoin are compared to other altcoins.
Due to the lack of understanding of bitcoin, many people still do not understand how bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies work, which makes them feel uncomfortable and distrustful of using them.
and also the price of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies is very volatile and can experience big changes in a short time, which makes people feel uncomfortable and distrustful of investing.
828  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: do you check feedbacks score of traders? on: February 12, 2023, 07:03:21 PM
When you sell your cryptocurrency in exchange do you care to check the review of the trader or you are only interested in selecting lower rate of buying and higher rate of selling.  What makes you want to sell your coin to a particular trader in crypto exchange,  do you care about review of traders or you go for the best rate to buy and sell?
Ofcourse price rate is crucial and also the rating is the most important one since you gonna use that as basis if the person is trusted enough to deal with your crypto or transactions. If you gonna do a big sell off then pick those high rating and good feedback cause that means they are really giving whats right during their pricing. They dont wanna messed up their record to continue a great reputation on buying and selling.

Traders who are trusted enough will be the choice as well as looking at the price level and ratings recommended by others. Especially if making a big sale as you mentioned, then feedback and ratings will be the main criteria. as well as how fast they can process it. there are many merchants who have good feedback, but some processing is too slow. and for big sales make sure everything is safe.
Don't choose p2p traders with low ratings and also have negative feedback, and there are also some p2p traders who play prices without being able to process transactions that will be made. Can set a filter to get the right merchant.
829  Other / Off-topic / Re: SMS phishing attack (smishing) on: February 12, 2023, 06:14:13 PM

I think the sender has a number and his identity is unknown to the Op unlike the kind of unknown number you mean that has no identity or number, that can only happen for calls, I've not received an SMS from an unknown number without any ID. However, it's certain that Op would receive lots of these messages and the sender may not be targeting his crypto it could be some marketers using bulk SMS to market their app. But to be safe it's better not to download the file. Secondly, Op, shouldnt drop his numbers on public forums or social media where these people scrape numbers for bulk SMS.

Marketers who use bulk SMS will not provide document files like the SMS that OP gets. In general, bulk SMS for marketing purposes will have the identity of the business owner sender and some attractive offers.
The SMS that OP got in my opinion is quite dangerous because there are document files that need to be downloaded. I would suggest deleting it and blocking it if you can.  It is possible that those who sent the SMS got the number randomly, but it could also be because the OP entered his personal number on a website or forum which eventually became a hacking target.
830  Economy / Speculation / Re: My fear in fall of Bitcoin. on: February 12, 2023, 05:39:18 PM
~snip~Facts: those with negative thoughts and doubts who do not get victory in Bitcoin, hesitate to back down, there is no compulsion in any form of behavior towards Bitcoin, those who are brave and confident are the ones who succeed, regardless of whether Bitcoin goes up or down.

Some of these facts occur due to several factors that affect the price of Bitcoin, such as demand and supply, regulatory issues, and macroeconomic factors. People who do not understand the technology and the cryptocurrency market may feel hesitant to invest. Before deciding to invest, it is important to do your research and understand the risks involved. Portfolio diversification can also help minimize the risk of loss.
And for those who dare to believe that bitcoin will provide profits even though the bitcoin market is falling at the lowest price, even that will be a good opportunity to continue investing and increase bitcoin assets.
831  Economy / Speculation / Re: What happens next if Bitcoin drops to zero? on: February 12, 2023, 05:05:48 PM
~snip~ We're talking about decades before something like this happens. The last BTC will be mined by 2100, so we have plenty of time to enjoy it during our lifetimes. Remember, diversifying your investment is the key to minimizing as much risks of loss as possible. As long as you don't put all of your eggs in one basket, you'll have nothing to worry about. Just my thoughts Grin

Something will always be replaced and some technologies will continue to develop, including Bitcoin and Blockchain technology. Bitcoin is even still new in the world of digital assets and this is still a first step for bitcoin. We will not be able to see how the development of bitcoin after bitcoin has been mined. We only need to focus on the remaining times with bitcoin fluctuations that occur. Going to zero is hope for those who are hopeless, but for those of us who continue to support bitcoin, bitcoin will continue to grow and evolve over time, becoming a payment technology that remains decentralized.
and By diversifying, it is possible to spread the risk of loss across different types of assets so that not all money is exposed to the same risk. and it is strongly recommended not to only invest in one type of asset, especially if you are just starting to invest in bitcoin or other crypto assets.
832  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Withdrawing Bitcoin off the radar on: February 11, 2023, 11:43:23 PM
It's pretty crazy to see a 24% tax, is that real? because in my country crypto tax is only imposed on a centralized exchange and not on every user.
When you want to avoid centralized exchanges and banks, I'm sure you can avoid them all. Maybe you can avoid centralized exchanges with P2P transactions with people who accept crypto exchange services, but then the funds will be transferred to your bank account, obviously you can't avoid banks. Currently we still rely on centralized exchanges and banks to convert to fiat, but if bitcoin adoption takes place in your country, you can immediately use bitcoin as payment provided someone wants to accept bitcoin payments.
and for Bitcoin ATMs, it does use KYC and transaction fees are quite expensive.
833  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading as wealth. on: February 11, 2023, 11:05:26 PM

Trading is simple, but not as simple as one might think. I am very clear about this assumption because basically anyone can buy anything and at any price, it is free for everyone. But analysis can help traders buy at prices that tend to be more profitable where low prices are the main target for starting entry. However, analysis is not as easy as we speak, it is much more difficult for beginners or still difficult for anyone who does not want to learn even if they have been involved in this space for many years.
Between trading and long-term investment, both have advantages and disadvantages, it all depends on how we manage these long-term trades and investments. Those professional traders can make a lot of profit from trading and those who patiently buy gradually for long-term investments also do not lose and have a lot to gain when they cut their profits.

Quote
No matter how simple trading is, it is not as good as long-term investing. Bitcoin is one of the most profitable assets in the long term, and anyone can do it.
Bitcoin long term is also beyond doubt, highly recommended.

Health is wealth too which I heard atleast million times but where I can trade it?

The point is whoever wants to trade crypto trading is engaging in it and same goes with everyone on other trading for example stocks and gold which is rarely traded as physical either digital bonds backed by gold can be traded.

Concept of trading is simple but everyone can achieve their goals and keep doing it consistently, no!

The concept of cryptocurrency trading is simple. In trading, you buy cryptocurrency at a low price and sell it at a higher price. However, although this concept is simple, achieving consistency in trading can be very difficult. There are many factors that affect the price of a cryptocurrency, and it is important for traders to understand the market and make good analyses before making trading decisions.
In addition, emotional control is also very important in cryptocurrency trading. Many traders are tempted to make uncontrolled trading decisions based on their emotions, such as greed or fear. This can result in major losses and it is important for traders to be able to control their emotions and remain focused on their pre-determined trading strategy. Therefore, although cryptocurrency trading can be a source of wealth, it is important for traders to understand the market and make good analyses, as well as control their emotions to ensure consistency in trading.
836  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you consider spreading FUD to be unethical? on: February 10, 2023, 04:06:43 PM

You are correct but it is not as easy to check a source sometimes you find a rabbit hole of sources where a lot of them are fake and they are quoting other bad quality sources. A lot of the time these fud machines have many websites they own and they will create similar headlines and similar content and link to each other to try and make their fud look like it is real. A lot of people fall for this because most people do not check the sources but when they do they will only check the linking source and will not look for verifiable information or sources which are known to be trustworthy.

Unreliable sources of FUD usually come from sources with a specific motive, such as marketing or propaganda, or sources that do not have sufficient knowledge and do not verify their information before publishing it. Some examples of unreliable FUD sources include media outlets that have a specific agenda, individuals or groups that have a vested interest in influencing market prices, and websites that are unverified or not reputable. To avoid FUD, it is important to do your research and verify information from reliable sources that have accurate and up-to-date information. Also, it is important not to be unduly influenced by unverifiable opinions or information and to stay focused on verified data and facts.

Quote
Removing emotion is 1 of the hardest things to do when you are invested in something. This feeling increases the more you have invested. It is hard and I do feel for newbies that fall for these traps because it is not their fault. I wish this forum removed FUD to stop newbies getting hurt because I think it is very unethical and should be removed.

Sometimes emotions are a serious obstacle when making an investment. If emotions are not controlled, the investment that should get a profit, in the end must get a loss.
837  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why hoard your knowledge about a subject. on: February 09, 2023, 07:55:28 PM
Not always storing information or knowledge is a bad thing. Sometimes, there are situations where storing information or knowledge is the best thing that can be done. For example, when the information is confidential and harmful if shared.
However, in other situations, sharing knowledge and information is important for the advancement of individuals and society. Knowledge can help people understand new things, solve problems, and create innovations. Therefore, sharing knowledge and information can help advance individuals and society as a whole.
And in the end, sharing or not sharing information and knowledge is a personal decision that must be made based on the situation and context at hand.
838  Other / Off-topic / Re: White Card entered in Football !!! on: February 09, 2023, 07:43:00 PM
I was reading more about this White Card, and the main question I have in mind is:

Do we really need it?

I mean, it doesn't make any difference, is only like a clap for the fair game, but I don't feel like we need them. And what I don't have clear is if that white card is a local thing for Portugal, or if FIFA will adopt it a make it a global thing.

In some cases, a white card can help the referee control play and ensure that play is fair and fair. there are also different views on the need for a white card in a soccer game. Some argue that white cards make the game too tight and limit players' freedom to play in their own style.
Others argue that white cards are essential to ensure that the game is fair and safe for all players. white cards are still needed in football games to help the referee control the game and ensure that acts that break the rules are penalized. However, the level of need for a white card in each game can vary depending on the situation and the preference of the referee.

Quote
Another thing that I don't like at all, is the referee giving cards to a non-player, for me feels like nonsense.

According to soccer rules, non-players must obey the same rules as players and be responsible for their actions. Therefore, dealing cards to non-players is part of the effort to ensure that games are fair and respect the rules. If you feel that this is nonsense, then it may differ from your view. However, it is part of the official rules in the game of football and must be respected by all parties.
839  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you consider spreading FUD to be unethical? on: February 09, 2023, 07:00:05 PM
Maybe in the eyes of the majority here in the cryptocurrency community, the spread of Fud is not good, but if you look at it from a different angle, you can also see and measure the extent of your knowledge in this industry.

This is also where we can find out for ourselves whether our knowledge is deep or shallow. And you will also see the different opinions and views of others which one you think is right or wrong.
I think people are just focusing too much on "fake" fud spreading and that is why they are so sure about the situation and why they think it is bad.

The reality is that we are talking about a situation that is much worse and there are situations where it is just people who think that it is actually dropping and that's why they are telling it, which is definitely not an easy thing to say because we don't really know if it will go up or not, but the reality is that we are just unsure about it. That is why I believe that we shouldn't be shocked about it and just accept that FUD is not done for a fake fear type of thing all the time, sometimes it's real.

But it's hard to distinguished in the beginning if that the news is fake or real, that is the problem. We have to read between the lines, who are the source, have the crypto news outlet validated it or not?

That's why still on us, to whether believed on it or not, or make our decisions based on that news. So maybe it's unethical, maybe it's not. We don't have control on who is going to read it, or what will be their reaction is.

There are several ways you can do to distinguish whether the information is FUD or not, such as:

  • Check the source of the information and make sure that the source is reliable and trustworthy.
  • Make sure that the information received has a strong basis and is supported by concrete evidence.
  • Don't rush to conclusions and read the full information to understand the context and true meaning.
  • Get opinions from various independent and reliable sources to get a better picture.
  • Don't be swayed by emotions and strive to make rational, fact-based decisions
840  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Features in Crypto Casinos for the Elderly on: February 09, 2023, 02:04:40 PM
The casino system for the elderly is a controversial issue and can have negative implications for the social and financial well-being of the elderly. Some countries ban casinos for the elderly's usage as they view it as a form of exploitation and misuse of social funds allocated to assist the elderly.
However, there are also other arguments that say that casinos for the elderly can be a source of entertainment and a useful social activity for the elderly. Some elderly-specific casinos offer assistance and training for those unfamiliar with casino games so they can play safely and wisely.
Before deciding to create a casino system for the elderly, it is very important to consider all aspects and implications that may occur and ensure that the elderly involved will be protected and not disadvantaged in any way
