821  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Is Syan a real deal? on: October 17, 2017, 04:42:11 PM
It is kinda ridiculous that they only have that 1 working miner in a lab......
822  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: UNDER clock Antminer S9 on: October 17, 2017, 04:37:56 PM
So, it cannot be done, even now?

Downclock it abit would be nice

Not as far as I know.

I got tired of the noise and sold the damn things.

I see. Another option would be to try soundproof the room but it cost quite abit.
823  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Do u use anti-static mat for your antminer shelf? on: October 17, 2017, 04:09:55 PM
Noted on the surge. Thanks

But u sure esd mat is so cheap?
Still gotta ground the esd mat right?

If u have links for a good one, pls advise

825  Bitcoin / Mining support / Is it really ok to have antminer S9 operating at over 80 degrees celcius? on: October 17, 2017, 01:34:30 PM
Is that really ok?
Do u have antminers S9 running for over a year under 90 degrees?

My D3 running up to 72 degrees celcius and my S9 up to 81 degrees.

Wat temperature do u run your machines at?
Bitmain manual says it will stop at 125 to 135 degrees celcius but that is really high...
826  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Do u use anti-static mat for your antminer shelf? on: October 13, 2017, 01:04:02 AM
Lol, haven't touched those in years, I see no reason for the anti-static protection, but for what, $2, I suppose it could never hurt. I would worry more about heat and dust, and the abuse of simply using them. That is where the biggest faults seems to come from.

Agreed but I read info that there is ESD damage to circuits that we cannot see. Is that true?

It should cost more than 2 bucks imo.
827  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Is Syan a real deal? on: October 11, 2017, 01:34:23 PM
Well, likely scam. Anyone email them to at least make a simple youtube video of the machine working? That takes a couple of minutes or so only. Hmmm also 6200 rpm fan should be pretty noisy for home i think.
828  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Is Syan a real deal? on: October 11, 2017, 03:17:37 AM
I've been emailing the customer support to ask about the next batch and the payment options. here is their response:

Thank you for writing.
PSU, board and chips all come with a 5 year warrenty for defects.
I can fully appreciate your concern. I have also been mining for a number of years and I'm fully aware that many companies have failed to deliver. It is always a concern with a new company.
Our preferred payment option is obviously BTC since we aim to support the network wherever we can. However, we also will be accepting fiat payments via our escrow provider.
If you have any doubts at all, you could always wait and place an order for batch 2.
Please let me know if you have anymore questions.
Best regards,
Clive.

5 years? Really?
Hmmm also, doesnt vega sound like AMD to u
Also if the chip is 25% more efficient than the current best in class S9 you would think they would be plastering advertisements whereever they could. They could completely take over the bitcoin hardware game if these machiens were legit.

The S9 isn't best in class - Bitfury was showing similar efficiency to what Syan is claiming on their demo - and there have been "upgrades" to both GF and TSMC processes since then that make the efficiency claims of the Syan unit reasonable.

That doesn't mean they are NOT a scam - it just means that *IF* they are a scam, they're a well thought out scam.

They're also not the first company to come "out of nowhere" with a new miner - a few of which have proven to be legit....

U managed to buy any of that bitfury?
829  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Do u use anti-static mat for your antminer shelf? on: October 10, 2017, 03:29:09 AM
I guess it is not a problem since the machine is in casing.

U only need to stand on the mat when u are handling the device?
It only applies to handling the device on the inside right
830  Bitcoin / Mining support / Do u use anti-static mat for your antminer shelf? on: October 10, 2017, 02:12:46 AM
Do u put an anti-static ESD mat for your antminer shelf? Pls advise.

I wondering if needed.

Will it help in any way? Increase lifespan of mining equipment or safer?

I notice no topics on this lol
831  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: first bitmain antminer S10 speculation thread (probably) on: August 07, 2017, 03:10:50 PM
So, anymore speculation on this? Anyone hear anything new?
832  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: ASICs / Humidity levels on: August 03, 2017, 10:12:25 PM
I'm pretty sure that every ASIC-based miner I've seen specified up to at least 80% RH in it's operating specs.

Even with *2* evaps running in my current space though, I'm only getting to low 30ish at the miner intakes and perhaps 55 right at the output of each evap.

I see. Will rust be an issue after a few or several months of mining?
It should be ok right??
833  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Is 65-70% Humidity ok for antminer? on: August 03, 2017, 10:09:12 PM
Might check this thread  I started a couple days ago on the same topic.   seems the consensus is you're ok.

I got a good look. Question is, will rust be an issue after a few months at high humidity?
It should be ok right?

835  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Is 65-70% Humidity ok for antminer? on: August 02, 2017, 10:11:56 AM
Yes. It works between 20%-90% relative humidity. Keep humidity between these numbers at all times. When humidity will be reaching almost threshold, think about air dryer or wetter. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bitcoin-Miners-BTC-Mining-Antminer-S9-13-5th-s-APW3-Power-Supply-In-Stock-/172551882825

Hi Vice. Thats the specs for the PSU only. Can be found here  https://shop.bitmain.com/productDetail.htm?pid=00020170627175024105t4k8SjM5067C  .

As for the antminer itself, anyone operated it in a high humidity area before? I cant seem to find it on the antminer specs.

Vice, wat humidity do u run then at?
836  Bitcoin / Mining support / Is 65-70% Humidity ok for antminer? on: August 02, 2017, 08:24:11 AM
Anyone use it at that humidity and without problems? My location has 31 temp, 65-70% humidity.

I will be using fans to remove the hot air in the room after ducting the outlet through a wall. However, with fans, there will be pretty high airflow and thus, dehumidifier will not work so well yes.
Thus, is it ok to let it run at 65-70% humidity?

Iceland has higher humidity at 85% from wat i see in google.
837  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [EON] EXSCUDO - ICO successfully finished! on: July 17, 2017, 06:10:06 PM
This is just taking too long. Still not launched yet right?

Nope, They claimed to launch testnet at the end of July, hope they can deliver it. Also it might be good that the EON coin skips theis bear period of the market

I see. I hope nothing goes wrong. It has been a long wait...

840  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How do u get a place that has the electricity requirements to start mining? on: June 29, 2017, 08:50:59 PM
I would not put more than 5 Antminer S9s into a 40 amp  230 v circuit.  Don't forget to derate 80% if you are following NEC; you don't want to trip the breakers, or worse cause an electrical fire if the breakers aren't sized properly.  Hire an electrician to determine if there is more available power, get permits from the city, and also keep in mind the ventilation requirements to keep the equipment from overheating.

Does somehow pulling the electricity out from nearby cost alot. Any rough guidelines?

Is there any rental location in a city where there tends to be more availability of AMP for more use? :s11:
Or some kind of service that caters to these type of electrical needs? Juz look for industrial areas?

Too new for answering this question. I'm actually needing answer to these questions as I might get into mining if I start understanding it.

Hang around here then buddy.

I haven't knew there is this amp limit. What is different from having a building with thousands of pc with many more amps? Probably the noise would be to Lound anyway?

There is only so much a socket can handle.
The problem is u can have even 5-6 sockets in a room and it could be such that all 5-6 can only handle up to 40ampere max....
