841  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to determine if solo mining is appropriate on: May 05, 2013, 11:00:01 PM
I wouldn't recommend joining pools to mine lesser known crypto-currencies. Solo mining isn't really appropriate unless you have a large setup however you can potentially get rewarded more and more BTC. I would recommend if your new go with a more known coin than BQB and try pool mining. Best of luck though!
842  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: devcoins, ixcoins, litecoins, etc on: May 05, 2013, 10:58:50 PM
If I had a large system I would mine all types of coins, but for now I mainly stick to BTC, LTC, and TRC. LTC and TRC I think I'm going to keep as I get them from mining, however I'm not so sure about BTC. I'm definitely not planning to keep the funds inside my pool especially after what recently happened in another pool when 30% of everyone's funds were taken.

Huh? I didn't get this post or the title? Were you supposed to write 'Oops... I broke bter.com'? Well anyway good luck and keep refreshing since that's the only help you have right now    Tongue

wow that avatar is the most depressing thing i have ever seen.

ha ya and us drill baby drill is the cause of it. truth hurts huh.

and yes i posted hundreds of times just so i can do that. go to speculation....jr members are getting ripped to pieces. just saying. but in the end my PA is pointless and is on deaf ears. oh well i tried.

How is drilling for oil responsible for killing polar bears? im not saying it isn't i just wanna understand the mechanism.

Drilling for oil really isn't all that much, directly. Oil spills are, moreso.

I think in general "fossil fuels" being used is blamed for the warming, which then melts the ice. The ice causes:

1. dens to collapse on hibernating bears
2. less ice for bears to hunt from = more bear conflict in that area
3. less ice for bears to hunt from = less food at the ice
4. bears using ice that then melts in the time it takes them to swim out and back exhausts the bears that might have nowhere to rest.
5. younger bears dying off more due to their lack of self sustaining.

That about covers it.

ah yea well some warming is bound to be a bad thing for polar bears. The good news is that a healthy amount of warming is probably a good thing for most animals, ourselves including. The earth has been cooler than is optimal for quite a while now in my opinion =).

I live in California and I think the temperature of the Earth has been quite optimum, even to high sometimes for us:). Maybe we should create regional global warming, warm some areas and cool others:)

I think that it could happen however the hard part is getting the word out to all of those people. Great job at the party and way to spread the weard about BTC even if you were drunk. You know now that I think about it you could have profitied. Write your own ebook explaining all the fundamentals of BTC and then tell them its the number one BTC guide in existance and sell a copy to each of them for like $10:)... you know what new idea, I'm going to go write a beginners ebook for BTC.
846  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hey on: May 05, 2013, 10:43:45 PM
Welcome to the forum. You stop being a newbie after being online for 4 hours and having 5 posts. However, I think you can still read other forums just not post on them. Best of luck learning everything about BTC and have fun!
847  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is PPC undervalued? on: May 05, 2013, 10:34:05 PM
Coins wouldn't lose value over time, they are the same as every other coin. However, the supply may be too high but the supply is a steady and known amount for all crypto-currencies I believe. And you realize when you ask if the demand is to low, or is the supply to high they are basically the same question when you look at it. I don't know why the demand is low, maybe people want other cryto-currencies.

Things like this are only worth what someone will pay for them. If the price isn't high its because someone won't pay that much for it. My guess is the price is based of how hard it is to get because if you take your GPU rig and use it to mine ppc and get 3x as much then everyone would do that, or most people would. From what I know its much harder to get 1 BTC than to get 1 ppc from mining which may reflect the price.

If your looking to get advice to see if you should purchase some and try and make some profit, than that decision is up to you.

inel pentium4 2.66ghz
758mb ram

No offense, but I think its way to slow to really do anything with it unless it has like 8 graphics card slots to mine.
849  Economy / Goods / Re: 200-250 BTC for borrowing your Avalon on: May 05, 2013, 10:06:58 PM
I'm not interested in doing this (namely because I don't have an Avalon on me right now), however I just wanted to point out, it amazes me what the people who purchased the Asic's early can get. I mean if you got it as part of the first batch, you paid $1500, and now you are getting $20,000 to lend it out for 90 days... and then you can still mine with it. Good luck and free bump!

Thanks. I thought it was Will Take Bitcoin    lol

Lol... I can see that starting to be used in the market.
851  Economy / Goods / Re: Credit card shaped 16GB USB sticks with engraved Bitcoin logo (Batch 1) on: May 05, 2013, 10:00:15 PM
What a great idea. I would love to purchase one but I simply don't have the BTC/paypal to get one right now. Congratz on getting more than the 24 orders you were originally looking to get and best of luck in the future Smiley.

Plus a free bump Cheesy
852  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why 'satoshi' word is banned as a valid nickname on: May 05, 2013, 09:57:22 PM
Maybe we are taking our admiration too far. Or maybe they don't want people registering with names like: BitcoinManager, or SatoshiManager, BitcoinCreator, or something that could be deceiving to brand new newbies and use that to try and scam them because the newbie believes that the person is a reputable person associated with Bitcoins/Satoshi because of their username. I'm guessing Bitcoins are banned as a username too...

853  Other / Archival / Re: I sold everything at $158/159 this morning on: May 05, 2013, 09:55:32 PM
Best of luck with your BTC purchases lol:). If BTC hit below $30-$40, unless I thought they would continue down for a long time, I would buy quite a few, however, I'm not going to put in a buy offer and wait, I'd rather have the money in my hand and risk missing a quick drop than leave the money in an exchange with my by offer and hope it completes during a quick drop.
854  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I´m Salling My BMW 330 ci Cabrio 2001 239cv on: May 05, 2013, 09:52:46 PM
Good luck on selling your car, however, I'm pretty sure this doesn't belong in the newbies section and instead belongs in the marketplace section  Wink If I was interested in a car I would consider it but I'm in the US so shipping wouldn't be cheap. O'well, best of luck selling your car!
855  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Trojan Wallet stealer be careful on: May 05, 2013, 08:15:16 PM
I hardly keep any value in wallet no more than few dollars because I'm just starting out. I plan on encrypting it and such if I ever get a large amount in there, but if I'm just starting out, is it necessary that I encrypt my wallet, or is the hassle not worth the potential reward. What do you recommend?
856  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mining LTC options on: May 05, 2013, 08:00:07 PM
GPUs are by far the best way to mine LTC coins. Compared to CPU, GPU is more efficient per watt and per dollar. Plus you can put 3+ GPU in a lower end but not to shabby motherboard, there are no lower end or even mid/high end mother boards I know of where you can put 3+ CPU, 2 seems to be the max for many, unless you start looking into servers and even there 2 is pretty close to the max.
857  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Im Buying XRP Ripple coins! on: May 05, 2013, 07:58:09 PM
I've seen more and more people buying ripple coins, what exactly are these ripple coins used for? I think I'm going to try and go get some, they don't seem that hard to get and also seem to have a pretty good reward so...  Roll Eyes

I know very little about ripple actually xD But im trying to get a wide range of cryto coin types.
You can open a wallet and found out more here: https://ripple.com Once you open a wallet, it should link you get a thread that offers free xrp coins too!
I haven't got my free ones yet, but hopefully soon.
Good Luck!

Oh, ok. Thanks for the advice, I'll check it out!
858  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Problem with Junkcoin on: May 05, 2013, 07:57:34 PM
This is the BitcoinTalk.org forums, these forums exsist to talk about bitcoins, and the things related to them, If you want help with Junkcoins, Goto the Alt-Coins section of this forum
Or better yet, Ask the creator of Junkcoins why you are out of sync with what he created

I didn't get your picture:)... but if you noticed the guy only has two posts, so he can't post in the Alt-Coins section, (still refrained to the newbie section) and I think he may be able but not necessarily ask the creator of Junkcoins anything.
859  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Problem with Junkcoin on: May 05, 2013, 07:55:44 PM
I don't know why its out of sync, but I would recommend staying away from those new coins. At first they may be able to get you more money but they can also cause you to lose it all. Stick with the more popular new coins like terracoin and feathercoin & maybe even litecoin, but I wouldn't call that a new coin.
