841  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is NOT mathematically limited to twenty one million bitcoins on: July 28, 2017, 08:44:55 PM
It's like asking if it would be possible for BTC to be official currency of Mars.

That's already been asked multiple times on this forum.  Here's an example from 2014:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=724884.0

Some day in the future we will have human settlements in Mars can they use bitcoin?
This... might be one of the best responses I have ever seen! Thank you for the great laugh on a Friday afternoon here. We have just been swapping dank memes here in the office.
842  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MSI Z170A GAMING M5 - 7 GPU [SOLVED] on: July 28, 2017, 08:30:27 PM
hello,

i'm having high cpu utilization, mostly due to system interrupts.

using z170 gaming m5, and GTX 1060 3GB cards, 7 gpu, 6 gpu, 5 gpu, same issue, tried both windows 10 and NVoc with same issue of very high CPU, and mining crashes.

tried Claymore 9.7 9.4, Ethminer, same issue again.
tried recent nvidia driver, older driver, same issue.

anyone had such an issue, would appreciate the help, it's driving me crazy.  Huh Huh

As I have found out on my board, this is due to the PCIe version. Go into the UEFI and manually set the PCIe version from "Auto" down to "1.0" - this resolved my high cpu load issues.

It took me forever to trace this down because sometimes boots would work great and other times they would do what you are experiencing. Thanks to GPUZ I was able to discover this fix.
843  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Altcoin - Mining only for people on: July 28, 2017, 05:59:08 PM
Yes, there would be a lot of interest in this for anyone with a simple hobby mining setup. However as soon as it was profitable anyone with a larger setup would take it on. There is really nothing you can do to stop bigger farms from mining it.

CPU mining? Botnets

Un-poolable? Multiple wallets per machine/per card/per whatever

Hashrate limit? See above

Limited emission? Less profitable for the smaller miners so no interest

If you really do have something it will be extremely cool so I hope you can, but those problems are pretty hard to overcome.
844  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help me choose PSU for 12 GPU's on: July 28, 2017, 05:46:49 PM
Why not three PSU?

Since you already have 860 and 750, I would add another 750 or 860 and get a better night sleep knowing that you have plenty of headroom and better PSU efficiency.

You can sync them all using something like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072K8F6GZ

-SCSI
Why do people use stuff like this? It's very simple to use them all together, you simply need to short the green pin to any black pin in the ATX connector and the PSU will be on and providing power. Here is a very simple guide: http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-power-up-an-ATX-Power-Supply-without-a-PC/

It even shows using a switch, but I just prefer using the power switch on the back of the PSU. I have been doing this since 2014 with no issues ever.
845  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC rally is premature - 4 days left on: July 28, 2017, 05:43:53 PM
I too am very confused by this Thursday/Friday explosion. I was anticipating Monday to be the big fireball with fallout until Wednesday. It seems Monday would cause a giant spike in interest and a flurry of activity before most places shutdown transfers. I'm also curious what this will do to alts on Tuesday. Will they skyrocket as everyone has their BTC locked up? Will they skyrocket on Wednesday when everyone is trying to get back into alts again? This will be so interesting.
846  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Traders: Would you have made more money if you just bought and held? on: July 28, 2017, 05:27:13 PM
I think my new goal should be to simply aim for a 1% gain in my portfolio per day. While that sounds quite small.. it is probably pretty achievable and would massively increase my totals within a few years.. compound interest is an amazing thing.

Maybe I should write that kind of tracker.. something that helps you stay on top of that and points in to up-swinging coins in an attempt to grab a few more percents off of them.
847  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which are promising projects in development? on: July 28, 2017, 03:42:59 PM
There's this very good coin called Bitcoin out there. Seems to have a lot of value and it's going through some decent development on top of it. It's also up like 6% today.
848  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is NOT mathematically limited to twenty one million bitcoins on: July 28, 2017, 02:25:11 PM
A change may be required in many years, however with BTC being easily and totally usually down to 8 decimal places, I don't see this need arising for a while. It's simply the human mentality of liking whole numbers and numbers >1. An easy solution is to adopt the mBTC as some did back when BTC first touched $1,000
849  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BCC market value on: July 28, 2017, 01:50:19 PM
Initially Bitcoin Cash will dump to almost nothing due to everyone getting "free money" and just selling. Then there will be the speculative investors who pick it up at a very low price and hold it. From there, it may rise slightly, it may not. People disagree with SegWit and people disagree with the centralized BCC. These times are interesting to say the least.
850  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help me choose PSU for 12 GPU's on: July 28, 2017, 01:47:24 PM
parallelminer.com

any of their server psu's with breakout boards have been great to me.
I cannot recommend them. They took over 1 month to ship my PSU and cables to me. I did, however, get the 2400w Deltas and they are tanks. If you can source them from other locations, I would say go that route.
851  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fifth alt coin thread last four got too big. on: July 28, 2017, 01:45:02 PM
Anyone else excited for Vega this sunday? People have gotten 37mh/s eth on the FE editions and if the cutdown chip goes for $350-$400, we got a new contender.

37mh/s eth, despite poor optimizations + close to 1080ti compute performance. It will be a beast.

Currently I sold all BTC. Only hold ETH, small amounts of various other coins, gear and cash. After Vega release and bitcoin fork issues,if coins has a big dip, I'll buy in BTC.

Else if Vega is priced right, spend cash on vega. Otherwise spend cash on more 1080tis and sit pretty till volta next year. Because I will max out my warehouse's electricity with this expansion. Need to rent a proper industrial unit for future expansion.
While I am excited for the Vega release, shortages will probably be immense at release. Plus with the additional hashrate and ETH still dropping, I'm doubting they'll see much of an ROI ever.. sure if you already have ROI from previous farms and just roll the coins into new hardware it will probably be good.. otherwise.. who knows?

I don't believe Bittrex asked me for anything of the sort.. then again I've been using it for like 3 years so I may not be remembering correctly..
854  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I like the Bitcoin Cash idea... so please bring more like this... on: July 27, 2017, 05:27:42 PM
Temporarily. In that time you can buy cheap BTC. After that it will sky rocket to $10,000 - you heard it here first Cheesy
I've been hearing that for years.
855  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Traders: Would you have made more money if you just bought and held? on: July 27, 2017, 01:00:39 PM
I'd have several million if I had just held onto everything. But I've been doing this since 2012.
856  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: July 27, 2017, 12:07:02 PM
Does anyone have an example on how to get started with the C# interfaces? I've been doing C# for a couple years but getting started with new tools is always a problem..

EDIT: Grrr the documentation appears to be totally out of date. The documented example of

Code:
    private ContextProvider Context = ScriptManager.Context;

Says that SriptManager does not exist. I even tried referencing all the AwesomeMiner DLLs in addition to the ScriptInterface. Nada. Hopefully dev can reply soon..
Bumping to next page.. still stuck Sad

Man, how is this not more popular? This coin has nice features and looks like actively developed.. meanwhile page 1 is nothing but ICOs  Roll Eyes

I fired up CPU mining on my desktop here, will look into further!
859  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinTracking - Profit/Loss Portfolio and Tax Reporting for Digital Currencies on: July 26, 2017, 12:22:07 PM
This is fantastic. I was dreading trying to figure out how to report my taxes next year, this service has made things so much easier! I will certainly be buying an upgrade come 2018.

How did you guys know to jump on SIGT ? What indicators or resources do you use to jump into situations like that?
Follow the hype. To be honest I have no idea why it took off.. maybe because the "new" algo spiked interest and people couldn't immediately all slam it? Who knows... All I know is I wish I had jumped on sooner with more cards!
