I think it's more of Top Rank doesn't want to work with Nonito or his handlers that time Probellum because Arum believed that their backer is a Mafia. Nonito has moved as well, Richard Schaefer bolted out of Probellum already.
Part of it might also be that uncle Bob is afraid that his ward will fall to the old Nonito Donaire as the latter still got the killer instinct and there kid has no chance of winning against Donaire hehe. And with that Moloney chooses to go on the other direction, but still have the chance to fight for the belt. However, he might still choose the wrong path as he will be facing another Filipino, maybe not as big as Nonito Donaire's name, but equally impressive fighter and rising in the ranks as well in Vincent Astrolabio. So he shouldn't feel the any advantage here, on the other hand, this could be as tough as facing Nonito because Vincent has power. So clearly, I will have Vincent here by ML since he is a slight underdog in this fight. He just need to really focus and train 100% and let's see if we will have another Filipino champion, following Tapales big win just 4 lbs higher division.
The last two fight of Astrolabio were impressive for me, got a knockout win against a tough Potapov and a unanimous win against Rigo which for me if you beat this guy, you must be good. Though in terms of talent/skill, Vincent is a little lower to that of Moloney but with that Filipino heart and against the odds, i have high hope that this would be another upset in the making. I'm waiting for how much we will win if we bet for Astrolabio via KO/TKO, that would be juicy i think. |

Lost my bet on the Grizzlies vs Lakers, but it was fun to watch though. Memphis has nothing to offer.
So there's no Celtics for Ja, no "I'm fine in the West", and the biggest irony of them all, Brooks not respecting Lebron and until someone game him 40? Now he got that 40, 125-85 is the final score. And with that series extended between the Kings and the Warriors, at least the Lakers will have some day-off while waiting for their next opponent. The Warriors are still the slight favorite going into the final game of their series.
That may be the reason why Lebron didn't shake hands with the Grizzlies as he went to the dugout before the buzzer sounded. Just the other year I thought that the young Grizzlies would be a team to beat in the West but I think these guys lack the championship mentality that a superstar must have, can't believe that they were ousted by the Lakers led by the old man hehe. Speaking of the Warriors, I'll be backing them on game 7, a pressure-pack game for the Kings that I think their knees would buckle. |

Every boxer always believed in themselves that they can beat the fighter in front of them. Just look at Ryan Garcia's confidence going into the Tank Davis fight. He said this and that, but during the fight it's a complete opposite. I'm not saying that John Riel will not win here, but just believing in yourself is not enough. You need to execute everything in perfection even it this fight is so called tune up for him.
Sometimes being too confident/cocky is just a way of selling the fight to the public and we know that well. Ryan Garcia agreed to all the terms that Davis threw at the negotiating table maybe because they badly needed the fight as a win against the Tank could skyrocket his stocks. I'm a believer that there is no such thing as an easy fight in boxing but with the recent opponent of Casimero, i could say that this one will not go the distance because Ngitumbwa doesn't have the experience and first time to fight outside his country, this would be tough for him and Casimero is really training hard for this one. Meanwhile, tickets for this fight were already sold-out per report, well that's expected because the venue is not that big and if I'm not mistaken this could only hold a few thousand guests. |

@Boafeng, @bisdak40. Is there a rematch clause for Fulton and Inoue? It appears that this has not been made clear in the news. I cannot find anything that mentions a rematch clause in my hard 10 seconds of searching hehehe. I will do more searching on google later, however, this should be easy to find but is not.
It would also be good for the division if there was no rematch clause. Tapales vs. Akhmadaliev had none and Tapales does not have any mandatory defenses. This implies that he will be given the freedom to fight for a unification against either Fulton or Inoue.
Have not found also this rematch clause being mentioned in this fight and I'm inclined to believe that there is non because Fulton is the champion and he is not so vocal about the money, I mean he is there to fight and prove to us that he has the tool to tame the Japanese Monster. Might even be that if ever he loses this one he might move up in weight as there are talks before that he is heading that way. I hope that there will be a unification for all the belts here but with the date moved to July I don't think that WBA and IBF can wait for a December showdown with Inoue/Fulton as they might order a mandatory defense for Tapales on either belt. |

With the series of upsets by a non so popular Filipino boxers, i think this one we should not miss. Vincent Astrolabio will go against Moloney for the vacant WBO bantamweight title, the latter chooses this path as he thinks that this is an easier path to a title rather than facing Nonito Donaire for that WBC version. But we know how risky it is if you are facing a Filipino pug, especially on this stage because we all know that Filipino boxers will bring their all just to win this fight. Can this game-fixing allegation affect your betting behavior on the game we love in the Philippines guys? Saw this news too but decided not to share it here because I have lots of questions that will make my mind blow and since the news only stated a few and lack of information, what we will have here is only guesses and speculation. Some of my concern is, even though Sangalang intentionally takes part in it, if his teammates don't know what will be the supposed scenario, therefore, how Sangalang can even control the supposed flow of the game? As for the question of yours kabayan, no, it won't affect my betting behavior in the PBA as one mistake by a player, for let's say it was confirmed, won't generalize the overall behavior of the whole league. Still, I do see most games are fair and square regardless if it's between sister teams or not. That's also what I'm thinking kabayan, it's very hard to pull the job if you are alone, and just like what Sangalang said that he won't risk his career on that few hundred thousand of pesos if ever they do that. This will be just another accusation that will die a natural death as this is very hard to prove. Good thing that you still believe in our PBA kabayan hehe. What do you think is better - Loma via KO or Loma via decision? Personally, even though the odds for a decision are higher, I still prefer the probability of him winning via knockout because it's more exciting to watch and people will be impressed with his performance.
I haven't put a bet yet for this fight as i planned to put some maybe 2 days before fight night. To avoid the complications, that ML odds of 2.95 is the way to go though I will put some money on Loma by decision. That Loma by KO is very juicy though but with both fighters a technical one, I doubt that there would be a knockout. His KO rate isn't that high, so it's a great strategy for Loma to attack early. However, I hope he'll be able to hit Haney with clean shots because if he doesn't, he'll just get tired and eventually, Haney will take advantage of that.
In that Lopez fight, Loma was so hesitant to attack or maybe Loma was just a slow starter but in my mind, I think he has so much respect on the power of Lopez that he thought that if he attack early and got caught with one power punch, he is done. Knockout may happen if there is an opening but i doubt one will happen because Haney is not a KO artist and Loma is fighting a bigger opponent which is hard to KO. I just hope here that Loma will be aggressive early to accumulate some points and ultimately win the fight via decision. |

Not seems because Lomachenko is indeed not the favorite in this fight and actually he is a 3:1 underdog, that's how the bookies list him. Can't even blame them because Loma disappeared from the scene and when he got back, he was not the kind of Loma that we used to see anymore, many of us are curious why and what happened to him.
Against Ortiz maybe we could say that he deteriorated a bit but before that, his fight against Nakatano and Commey were outstanding as he performed way better than expected. One factor that really affects his performance against Ortiz was the invasion of Russia of his country but let's also give credit to Ortiz as he performed very well on that night, he won't be called the Technician for nothing. But for all Loma supporters out there, this is already a good timing to support him while his odds are much crazier as who knows it might decline in the coming weeks because, after all, Loma is a live underdog.
Current odds for Loma is 3.17 and to win via decision is 4.20
Good odds indeed for Loma's fans like me hehe. He may be the underdog for the bookies but for me, this is a 50-50 fight because Loma has the upper hand here on experience. Loma's previous opponents' skill level are up a notch compared to the opponents of Haney. The good thing I see here is that Haney is not a one-punch KO artist like Lopez where Loma was hesitant to brawl. The government should have a law about this but knowing how corrupt our government system, I don't think any law pertaining to this one will be implemented because almost all of the owners of gambling platforms like jueteng or even cockfight arenas, were owned by politicians. They run for government offices so as to protect their personal interest or they paid politicians to protect their businesses, sad truth that is happening in the Philippines. This politician that you are talking about was paying the police or having control of the police in his town so we can't expect a lawful province if this politician is still in office but that event (killing of the governor) might be a blessing in disguise as he is now hunted by the government and i think he won't win in an election because of this incident. |

You are right. I just realized that this fight still has no exact date and venue until now. I believe both Donaire and Santiago are now in their final few weeks of preparations. They were expected to have started their training camps in early March or even late February so this fight badly needs a venue and a May date ASAP. I don't know if Donaire is now serious about his training right as his fight with Santiago is still in limbo, not definite yet as they have not released a date. I tried to listen to his interview but the volume of his microphone was so slow that we could not understand what he was saying. There were rumors that Ryan Garcia just quit on this fight, specially after that 2nd round knockout of his. But I'm looking at the replay of the body shot he got from Tank, and it seems legit, it has power behind that punch and his body was exposed, very vulnerable for a body shot.
And with that win, I shoot up Tank to be my #1 p4p list, followed by Naoya Inoue.

That's a legit knockout there because that's some sort of expected, I mean when you cut your weight you are just vulnerable to body shots. That round 2 knockdown temporarily zaps out the confidence of Garcia and he fought a defensive fight after that but got careless again in rounds 6 and 7 and got aggressive which what was Davis is waiting for, him to commit mistakes and the rest is history . For me, that's a status quo, I mean he stays in the ranking wherever he is because that fight is not fought in a fair field. They took the only advantage of Garcia which is his size and nothing is left for him to brag about but still a good fight for Tank though. If he could beat the winner of Haney vs Loma then I could say that he will go up in the rankings as that could be a legit fight for him or if he could beat Shakur Stevenson that I could say that he is a dog in the lightweight division. |

Not the way I thought this fight would go. I thought Garcia would be able to get the better of Tank but he didn’t seem to be able to use his advantages to his benefit. I wonder if they really did sign contracts to bet the entire purse or what is going to happen with that drama now.
That's purely talking to hype the fight but in the end, Ryan Garcia backed out of his statement that the winner will take all the purse money, that's what I have read in my social media feed about a month ago. Garcia lost with a same punch like he did against Luke Campbell.
Also, the same punch that Loma used to finish Linares, and if my memory serves me right, that's what also happened to Ryan's boss (Oscar) in the hands of Hopkins. |
