841  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero (XMR) Speculation thread on: August 05, 2014, 06:19:10 PM
Every day that Monero is under Darkcoin is a day that gives you an opportunity to buy cheap coins.

What if one doesn't have Bitcoin with which to buy?

Nice too how some in the Drk forum are cheer leading the theft of the Mintpal coins, very classy.

That statement is patently ridiculous.
844  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [CLOAK] Cloakcoin | No Premine | X13 | Decentralized Market and PoSA on: August 05, 2014, 06:12:49 PM
Just a question... not trying to start up a Darkcoin vs Cloakcoin jerk-o-thon.  Is there any guarantees in the Darkcoin system that a masternode can just keep your coins?  I don't know a whole lot about masternodes... it's just a honest question.  Is there some form of m-of-n escrow?

It's done with a cold wallet.  So perfectly safe.

You should post this in the darkcoin thread Smiley

I'm going back and reading up on the system now. =)  I think the question is covered in the FAQ.

His question doesn't appear to be related to the MN's own coins, but rather whether the opportunity exists for the node to be a bad actor and take the senders' coins.

To answer, Masternodes cannot steal coins. They simply coordinate a group signing; the sender will not sign the resultant TX unless it is agreeable to him.

This is better answered elsewhere though, as stated above.

Carry on!  Cool

Ppl were talking about that coin, that's why, but I'll delete it in a sec, sorry , didn't mean to offend anyone or the topic.

I deleted my response as well.

In the future, if you really want answers to these types of questions (and don't simply desire to troll/spread FUD), ask them in the appropriate thread(s), or start your own.

Posting in the manner you did (now deleted) only contributes to inciting these stupid "wars".
846  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Say Buy or Bye to XPM on: August 05, 2014, 03:31:08 PM
Do we have a working open source GPU miner for this coin yet? Last good GPU miner I used took 10% off the top for the developer.

Alll GPU miners are closed source afaik.

Thought so, I stopped mining this because of this very reason. XPM needs open source GPU miners.

It needs more than that. Buyers would be a good start.
847  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XMR] rpietila Monero Economics thread on: August 04, 2014, 09:13:11 PM
Someone needs to purchase the first XMR pizza of course. Has it happened yet?

10,000 mXMR for the first 2 pizzas delivered hot in the cigar room of Malla castle.

There is already a pizza thread. Unfortunately, last I knew, most or all of the "winners" haven't come forward with the necessary info to complete the deal. (I'm the true winner of course, but not if no one will take my pizza! Smiley)

Nothing changes including our imminent demise from global  warming...

Three themes are emerging from the newly released emails:
(1) prominent scientists central to the global warming debate are taking measures to conceal rather than disseminate underlying data and discussions;
(2) these scientists view global warming as a political “cause” rather than a balanced scientific inquiry and
(3) many of these scientists frankly admit to each other that much of the science is weak and dependent on deliberate manipulation of facts and data.
http://www.forbes.com/sites/jamestaylor/2011/11/23/climategate-2-0-new-e-mails-rock-the-global-warming-debate

keep denying..deny when there is huge tsunami headed

Strong rebuttal.

Just an interesting fact that a few people might have forgotten

Daily new coin generation for litecoin:
28800

Daily new coin generation for monero:
21916

And don't forget that Monero is dropping its block reward every day, Litecoin isn't.

I always bring up this stat when people say that the Monero reward isn't sustainable even now, that is pure FUD, it was sustainable from day 1 even if Monero were price over $20.

I don't agree with this. The market decides whether it's sustainable or not. If you have the buying interest of LTC, then sure it's sustainable at a similar price. Obviously that hasn't been the case so far.
850  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] LOGICOIN [LOGIC] X11 PoW | Android Wallet | Merchant Friendly | No Premine on: August 01, 2014, 04:01:17 AM
What's up logicoin community,

My thought on POS for Logicoin: I am going to say NO to POS although it would be a plus for me as the biggest holder (http://chainz.cryptoid.info/lgc/address.dws?49790.htm). In the longterm, POS bores me and mining is still in my blood.

I think after thinking for 2 weeks, the best route is to be like DarkCoin and do a annual decrease in coins per year after the first initial 6 months of POW OR change the block generation time OR maybe both. I think DarkCoin is currently 7% and 2.5 minutes for block generation but we can work on that number since we have less coins. Math on this is extremely important. Timing is everything.

Logicoin is basically a baby darkcoin and I rather we take that route. I am going to leave all the features (anonymous / darksend-logicsend-logicpay) up to the devs from now on and I'll focus on the web related stuff.

Here's some updates about what I've been working on for Logicoin's web side,
1. I received some funding and donation to run ads for our Logicoin Wallet APP on Facebook and Twitter. So, I just need the devs to make sure that this app works perfectly.
Here's a screen shot I saw on Facebook: https://i.imgur.com/rW3sLhu.png

2. Working on an easy way for people to purchase Logicoin Giftcards via an ecommerce site accepting credit card or paypal. The site should be ready in August: www.buylogicoin.com

3. Logicoin store is being created where you can buy products with Logicoin. This might include giftcards going the other way. Logicoin -/> $$$ (www.logicoinstore.com)

4. This one is my favorite idea so far. I'm talking to a group of guys who had the thought of creating a fund for logicoin. Basically the idea is building multiple niche game sites and using ads like Google Adsense to make revenue / profit by getting support from the community. How would this work? Any profit made via ADS will go into purchasing Logicoin to stabilize it. Similar to the Nautiluscoin stabilization fund but the ad revenue will be used to stabilize Logicoin.

My only question is, Is there any plans for the LOGICOIN Multi-pool to be created?
The domain was purchased but there is no talks about it. I have access to: www.logicoinpool.com
I need help with building this pool so if you have any developers interested, contact me.

TICKER (LOGIC) needs to be changed on here, all the other forums and especially on POLONIEX (contact@poloniex.com).

That's all I got for now, but more new coming soon.

Well, shoot, you've beaten me (I haven't been paying attention). At least mine have more "age". Cheesy

The price!

Are you shitting me?

Litecoin is Nr.2 to Bitcoin. Bitcoin is brand leader, the gold standard, first out of the gate with that first mover advantage thing going on.

So WTF has Litecoin got to offer now we're getting mixing out of the box, and IP Obfuscation? Nothing. Nada. Zero, Zilch, Zip.

It's been a long wait, but it's worth it.

*IP obfuscation 12 May 2014

So now, those that have been lurking and were afraid to ask why IP Obfuscation is soooooooooo important on the inter web, you've got your answer.

Hi gang.  can someone please explain who and why posts are getting deleted? i thpught thus was an unmoderated forum?!?

appearently it is not.. got some posts of mine removed as well. Appearently some bitcoin forum moderators are dickheads

The forum owner can delete any post they want.  It's their forum and they're doing people a favor by allowing them to use their forum for free.

If I was the owner of this forum I would ban you for calling me a dickhead and then blacklist every IP you've ever connected from.

You don't like the way this forum is run then go start your own.  Pretty simple solution isn't it?

My posts have been deleted as well.  But I understand that I am using this forum for free so I am not going to complain about the owners deleting my posts from THIER forum.

A reply of yours, quoted below, was deleted by a Bitcoin Forum moderator. Posts are most frequently deleted because they are off-topic, though they can also be deleted for other reasons. In the future, please avoid posting things that need to be deleted.

First, the moderators are most likely not owners.
Second, I'm grateful you're not the forum owner. Though, if you were, it seems likely this forum would be dead, and users would've migrated to a better one.
Third, agreed. Not too much to gain by complaining.
854  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where to invest? on: July 30, 2014, 03:27:25 PM
Hello everybody!

I just thinking of investing my btc into something. Where are you guys investing your coin? Is it worth to invest in mining at cex.io or any other site?

Just buy some altcoins on Poloniex. You will double your BTC stash in no time.

Wow, that is incredibly stupid advice/expectation.

<snip>

b.t.w. Here is my street for those who want a bit of entertainment in the form of geographical puzzles. Where is this ? (Hereafter known as "The Street that serves as a market template for the future of privacy coins" Smiley )

Surely it's here: https://www.google.com/maps/@55.876424,-4.292443,3a,75y,233.35h,80.16t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1s9hGHt73wSkb8jNh_z5et-g!2e0!6m1!1e1

I guess a lot must have changed since 2008? (I haven't read past your post yet to see if anyone figured it out.)

Edit: looks like a couple people did. Smiley
856  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Monero XMR large trade OTC on: July 29, 2014, 09:58:09 PM
Did you mean 0.0025 ?

selling 5000 XMR @ 0.025 BTC each!

lol, one would think the facetiousness was implied. I'm sure he does want to sell 5,000 at that price. Heck, I want to sell 20,000 at that price.

Darkcoin will only be used for P2P transactions and purchasing from underground nefarious websites similar to the now defunct Silk Road.  So unless you're buying illegal drugs off the internet there will not be many places to actually spend Darkcoin.

I don't think you've got any more idea than the next person about how anonymous networks will feature in a future cryptoeconomy.

Who are you??

Welcome back!
858  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | RC4 Testing on: July 29, 2014, 03:44:09 PM
This has to be the most heavily trolled thread on the entire Internet by now.

Gotta be in the running, lol.

I've read every single page of this thread since around page 800 (I read inconsistently before then). It does take a while, but *eventually* I think you (we/I) can get to a point where it's like water on a duck -- you don't even really get annoyed anymore (my ignore list is still completely empty).
859  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | RC4 Testing on: July 23, 2014, 09:34:32 PM
camosoul your website is missing one of these.  Tongue

That's the kind of porn I approve of around here.
I've repeatedly lodged solicitations for the kind of checkout system I'd want. Also design and SEO. But, nobody has stepped up and I don't want to spam the thread.

I also had an interesting problem with Darksend+

Goes like this:

With BitCoin, a person can send a specific amount of BTC to an address. They can then export the associated private key, cut-and-paste it into their message/order/address in notepad, save it, gpg the .txt, then make a QR Code from the resulting gpg .asc output and print it on paper. They can mail it to me (no return address, or my address as both) and there was never any data stored on a computer other than their own, which better damn well have been encrypted storage media. I receive the paper in the mail, they hold the private key in case it gets lost in the mail or destroyed. No one can steal it because it's encrypted. I de-gpg it, import the key, re-send so that the previous key they hold no longer has coins and they can also tell I've got the money as a result and to expect their order soon. I pull the inventory, mail it, burn everything they sent me. Go ahead, send a subpoena for information I don't have. Subpoenas are not retroactive. Go ahead, check my shared host's database. Guess what's in it? Nada. Try to go over my head or around my security. You can't get that which was never there. Even if they get a warrant to open my mail, big fat encrypted QR code. Check outgoing mail? Which Post Office did I send it from? How do they know which box was sent from me? Thumbs up their asses, thumbs up their asses...

But that breaks with Darksend+. Since the thing re-commits sends in the background to a buttload of random addresses that even the owner isn't sure has what where on it... Sender would send to an address, and while the paper is in the mail, it's getting mixed. I receive useless paper as the privkey no longer holds anything.

Most people still use FRNs... They have the derp and can't do what I described above. I took down my GPG key because all I ever got with it were Feds asking questions and making requests that only a moron would fall for... Most people are still too dumb and lazy for it anyway. They want PayPal and Bankster Cards. You couldn't force-feed them a gallon of water if they were dying of thirst in Death Valley. They just plain refuse to stop being slaves... Really de-motivated my interest in the business. I thought I was making a difference, but people crave slavery, too fucking lazy and stupid to do anything else...

Won't be able to use anything but FRNs and BitCoin... DRK won't work. Advantage BTC; the address is what it is, no comms with MNs for scattering required. Mix through exchanges, dedicated mixers, and darknet market wallets in random quantities and intervals. No less secure and anonymous than DRK...

I'm just not sure why you'd need/want to do this?
860  Economy / Economics / Re: Either/Or on: July 23, 2014, 04:26:57 PM
I think all taxes on all income should be replaced with the fair. What you earn is yours and the government has no right to decide how much they'll let you keep. No corp taxes, no hidden taxes and every citizen is allowed the exact same basic deduction which is truly fair. Those who have will buy and pay the tax and the more they buy the more they pay. In the meantime those who can't afford to buy much will be able to buy more once the hidden taxes are removed from the price of goods we pay state sales tax on.

I agree, remove all taxes on income. Repeal the 16th Amendment.

However (the US at least), while we have a taxing problem for sure, we have more of a spending problem. No tax reform can really do that much to help us while we're spending more than we can possibly hope to make by any method.
