We need constant updates on this thread.

Yea, the developers don't seem to post here at all anymore, I guess mostly after constant trolling about how the block reward and other things should be changed. It's not even clear who is still actually working on the project though; boristhespider hasn't posted for like 2+ months, a413321 seems still active on basecamp, jedigras occasionally chimes in on reddit, and othe is always lurking on irc, but I agree would be nice to have someone chime in here once in a while and keep the first post up to date.

Yeah, if there is roadmap, I'd like to see it in this thread.
842  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore CryptoNote GPU Miner v6.1 on: September 10, 2014, 11:38:16 AM
QUESTION: Miner has no GPU temperature control feature yet, what software do you use for it in Linux? If it's a problem, I'll have to implement this feature at first.

Check sgminer/sph-sgminer/cgminer sources, ADL_SDK required. Heat control is necessary, I tried to mine bbr on linux but without temp and fun control I am afraid to run my GPUs. There is also amdconfig utility, but it does not work for me (can't set fan speed).

Linux miner?

Not in the foreseeable future.

Not true, Claymore said "Linux version is almost ready".

When the 0.1 fee will be fixed ?

When we replace it with per-kb fees.

Just please make the fees high enough that the blockchain is not sold out too cheaply. It is possible to lower them when the price rises. The recent decision to up them by 20x did not lead to price crashing.

Would you pay all pool payout fees? I'm loosing more than 10% of my income processing payouts with 0.1 tx fee every hour.
I already said that 0.1 is ridiculous, then said it's a joke, because I realised that you have no clue how it works at all and probably it's a waste of time to start explanations.
Me and another people should not suffer losses because you have no enough money to keep price at desired level.

It does you no good to run a Monero pool if the blockchain becomes too large and the coin becomes impractical to use at all.

If (some of) your payout transactions are <20k then you will likely benefit from per-kb fees.

Also I know some of the pools have switched to 3 hour payments. You might consider something like that.

Ultimately the market will have to find the right equilibrium between speed of pool payments and cost.

BTW, you aren't doing your users any service by making very small payouts to them. It makes their transactions much larger when they try to spend.

Obviously, this high fee proposal related to manipulations, not to blockchain size. It's just insane that someone saying that 0.7% of block reward for transaction is no enough. Let's see how it will be accepted. Tx-size based fees would be cool, I was never against.

846  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [BBR] Boolberry GPU Miner Discussion - AMD & Nvidia - OpenCL & CUDA on: September 09, 2014, 01:20:48 PM
Is there any trick to set target temperature on linux for AMD GPUs? I tested cpuminer-multi-opencl and my cards were hot like a hell without fan action at all.

Is aticonfig --pplib-cmd "set fanspeed 0 50" the one and only way? It does not work.

A few days ago I transfer from my wallet a few coin transactions on bittrex. The two transactions are not reached and I do not see them in blokcheyne, it is about 25 coins. Dear developers, help me find moent. transactions  24264b00e715d25e1dbc5a8e3d0f30fcdaf28165894976db6c58547bf1440a92   and 3bf10c4cbafba43dd091359a8959579ed9eb4a11f86310714b78f6d7cbc66797.

P.S. wallet i am already update, but i dont see any coins them and on bittrex.

Try to delete your wallet.bin cache (backup wallet.bin.keys before) and then run simplewallet --wallet-file wallet.bin to rescan blockchain, your coins might come back to your wallet if you sent after fork issue. If not, contact support.

Hello, I created homebrew formula for Boolberry https://github.com/sammy007/homebrew-cryptonight

Usage:

Tap repo: brew tap sammy007/cryptonight

Compile: brew install --HEAD boolberry

If you don't want GUI and love old-school console.

I'm really impressed by the DEVS response to the attack.
I would want that  DEVS make XMR Wallet work as before...  Sad

Wallet works, stop it. Just created new one on osx.
850  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore CryptoNote GPU Miner v6.1 on: September 07, 2014, 03:24:49 PM
Honestly with a linux miner out there the difficulty rate will sky-rocket for all these coins.

There are mega-farms that only mine using linux due to its simplicity, if there is a linux miner out there, profitability will go out the window like it did with x11/x13 coins.

It's already not profitable for GPUs imo. Barely 1 USD per day with R9 290. I miss winter profits.
851  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency (mandatory upgrade) on: September 07, 2014, 01:24:57 PM
I've updated to v0.8.8.4 on OS X 10.9.4 (via Homebrew), and it sync'd nicely. Great work!

I intermittently get this message: "[P2P3][sock 21] Some problems at write: Broken pipe:32". (The sock # varies.)

I was getting the same error message on v0.8.8.3, but I don't recall seeing it before the past week or two.

Is it related to the attack? Is my local copy of the blockchain corrupted? Or is this nothing to worry about?

No it's ok. One of many peers just go down or have connection problems.

Is there blockchain bootstrap for osx? I'll die before sync complete Sad

Does everything go well now?
If so,I'll mine xmr again.

It go well all the way. You lost time by stopped mining.

anyone having issues with extremehash.com pool?
Close to 3 XMR sitting in pending and growing.

This is Monero thread. Use #monero-pools @freenode.net or monero mining thread (link in OP). Contact your pool op using support page.

This fork guard script is a bullshit. Period. It's PR guide. I'll stay away from these results, script obviously made with another purpose, just like stratum proxy locked to his pool. That's fucking funny how your block height is always higher than everyone's on the list.

Remove my pool from it.
856  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency (mandatory upgrade) on: September 05, 2014, 04:41:38 PM
Why not run Windows VM with 30 days old blockchain, run Linux VM with up to date blockchain, block everything on firewall on Windows VM except Linux VM, then set up Linux VM as primary node on Windows VM. Sync safely.
857  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency (mandatory upgrade) on: September 05, 2014, 01:58:01 PM
Seems people have many troubles with downloading blockchain. Still can't understand why devs won't upload blockchain to mega as a mirror. I'll never download blockchain from untrusted source these days and ever.

Pool mining on right fork, I'll be in touch.

You forgot to call people to hodl. Really, dude, people will launch coins for quick buck, miners will mine it for a chance to instamine and dump, exchanges will still list these coins for a chance to get fees. Morons will buy coins in first minutes on exchange for 100x higher price. Life.
860  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: *COMING SOON* the Monero t-shirt! [XMR] on: August 28, 2014, 06:41:26 AM
100% white text on Black

Also consider white text on (Dark or Navy) Blue.
(lots of tshirt shops sell white text on blue color shirts, it looks good.)

Good effort btw.

i agree with dewded on that. Smiley blue/orange are nice complementary colors.

if you make a blue one, you can count me in!

Yeah, navy font color will be nice. I wish I can receive some anonymous shipping address along with XMR address one day :-P
