841  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICN] iCoin - On Swisscex, C-Cex, Bittrex exchange on: May 16, 2014, 09:34:41 PM
At one stage I was VERY serious about taking over iCoin but now it looks to be a lost cause, it's become clear what was keeping this coin alive aslong as it was and that was the efforts of the iCoin team. I am also sad this coin did not make it, however if it makes anyone feel any better 90% of the coins have less use then iCoin, at least it's still on coinpayments.

i don't understand why the price was higher when the coin was actually broken, and now that a whole new dev team has come in and fixed the coin, the price and volume goes lower. it doesnt make any sense to me.

Because the new dev team isn't as good at fake pumps and trades Sad

Hey Guys

I am confused which color coin should I be investing in, I was hoping MaroonCoin would be out by now but typical my fucking fav color is not a coin yet, guess I will have to wait 2 weeks.
844  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarket.io | New, self-moderated support and news thread. on: May 06, 2014, 11:14:44 AM
I am not condoning racism but I think the point is more about two things: laws of the land and economics.

It is certainly harder to attempt to prosecute someone who pulls this kind of shit in Estonia than it is in the United States for example. That isn't prejudice that is a fact. Just as it is harder to go after someone for software piracy in certain countries.

The second point is that, yes, stealing X amount of BTC is certainly going to be more of a temptation to someone in a lower income area than someone in a higher income area. Why people are saying that isn't true is beyond me. That seems like basic logic to me. Most "thieves" are not rich (excluding whatever they have made from stealing of course.)

your first point counters your second point.

it is the lack of law enforcement and or punishment that make it easier for people to steal shit and commit crimes. not the poverty.

there is very little law enforcement going on around crypto in general that is why crooks from all walks of life are stealing from newbies on daily basis.
Was Mark Karpeles a poor man living in a poor country? how about Ross Ulbricht, Trendon Shavers or Charlie Shrem?

most people who work for big banks and corporations know that if they do anything wrong at work their organisation will pay a fine so they aren't too worried about the law
even governments act with the same mentality.

so no there is no cause and effect correlation between poverty and crime in general.. the idea that "most people who commit crimes are poor" has more to do with the fact that most people "are" poor. If everyone was rich I'm sure you would have similar crime rates and if you look at the crime statistics for rich countries vs poor countries I think you will find that borne out in the numbers.

Honestly man if I knew the exchange owner was Estonian I would never have risked putting money into the exchange, I would never touch that new Comkort exchange either. That is a disaster waiting to happen. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me, no Estonian fucker is going to scam me again.
845  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICN] iCoin - IPO live now on: May 05, 2014, 09:54:30 AM
Great to see the premine is in more hands now! I hope the btc will be used to help grow the coin more and the IPO investors have plans to help captainhook promote the coin. I didn't take the IPO because I have enough iCoins and it needed to get into more hands for it to have a future. You guys got the iCoin for a absolute steal compared to what others including myself did.
846  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Exchanges only care about money INCLUDING mintpal on: May 01, 2014, 04:30:16 AM
Recently I have been hearing a lot of complaints about high profile exchanges that only add the latest scam pump and dump coins and not honest coins with a bright future, while this may be the case at the end of the day most exchanges only care about making btc through high trade volumes.
A lot of people were surprised when mintpal added whitecoin, infact there was plenty jokes going around about whitecoin being created after blackcoin on btc-e and poloniex troll boxes because we knew it would start the color coin revolution and today we have a lot of colors to choose from.

None of these coins will add any value besides the enjoyment of playing the pump and dump game. Most of these coins won't add real value outside the crypto world and most certainly won't contribute to growing the industry. We all know for a fact 99% of these colour coins will be a distant memory in 1 year from now.

Why Mintpal is smart is because they ride the high trade volumes for new coins added and then will remove them when volumes dip under a certain amount, hell at the end of the day exchanges don't give a shit about crypto currencies that will have a use but low trade volumes, it's just business. Scam coins have matured and need a lot of btc to get listed onto exchanges now, also scam coins need to show some form of "innovation" to make some btc. This is a good thing because it kills off shitcoins and scam coins with no btc behind it.

847  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarket.io | New, self-moderated support and news thread. on: May 01, 2014, 04:08:55 AM
As most of you know by now I have been trolling, but I thought I would just get the msg out there for those members without a sense of humor.
It is sad times but your funds have been stolen by Kiur and Kenneth, even though they were caught red handed, the crypto world allows for them to get away with murder so to speak, I personally would never trust a exchange run by Estonians although this wasn't clear at the time. In terms of ratio they are the Nigerians of the interwebs, basically the scum of the internet and should never be trusted as was the case with coinmarket.io

Also anyone trading on Comkort has seriously big balls or don't give a fuck about losing the btc they have on that exchange when it eventually goes the same route in 3-4 months.

Honestly if I knew the exchange was being run by a Estonian I would never have transferred btc to it, 1 btc worth is like retirement package for most Estonians so really it was just way too much temptation for this guy to steal our bitcoins and now use the funds to move to a decent country.
We got no hope of catching Kiur Koster and he knows it, the police force are still 20 years behind most first world countries and would never catch this guy in a million years even if he admits to the crime
they won't know what the fuck he is talking about.

If it is indeed Kenneth B then he played us well because the Norway Police would actually catch him.

Poloniex Exchange @Poloniex
The following markets will be delisted on April 19th: eTOK/BTC, FRQ/BTC, ICN/BTC, MEOW/BTC

Well...

This is a blessing in disguise, ever since iCoin has been on poloniex it has gone downhill with price like a lot of other coins that get listed on there. Bittrex has more volume overall then poloniex now and it will be easier to establish a better price for iCoin on less exchanges.

Bluestreet you said you would start a new iCoin if things go bad? Is this option now?
How would you give iCoin to right people?

I would rather give Captainhook another month to see if he is not too busy with his other scam alts, if he starts taking this coin seriously and do something with the premine then we can look at things.
After looking at things again, there is no ways in hell this is captainhooks only coin because no creator would be so lazy with such a high potential coin.

There is 3 options the community has.

1. I take over iCoin and actually do work on it like noble/pot/digibyte devs but captainhook will still have premine.
2. Create a completely new iCoin from start but as POS/POW with X11 algorithm, this will be the most fair option but everyone will lose money and time.
3. Create a completely new iCoin from start but with Premine to replace current community coins. This will require A LOT of work.

The best way fwd for everyone is captainhook spending the premine, my guess though we won't hear much from him , maybe a update once a month with him hoping someone takes over while he has the premine.

Seen this happen with many coins in the past.
849  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarket.io | New, self-moderated support and news thread. on: April 18, 2014, 04:00:29 AM
Our new exchange is called comkort.

We needed the btc you donated to build it, this exchange will be a proper exchange run by us Estonians.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=550598

Please come support us, we have better security now and a lot more funding thanks to coinmarket.io , no reason to accept more btc funding.

Guys, very strange message. Comkort and CoinMarket.io - are not the same projects with different teams and developers.

MODERATOR: Please, clean these posts with our name from this thread.

Honestly m8 I will never trust another Estonian again in my life, this exchange owner is really going to fuck things up for your exchange.

hey coinmarket.io Smiley

as i said i will make your life harder - and i will post your full current adress here if u dont send my btc

im not kidding and for prof of it i can say that u moved to Australia so.. better just send my btc that u stolen from me - yes you stolen because i deposited it after someone stole btc from other ppl ...
your choice - my acc name rizardek

Excellent, that would make it much easier for me to speak with their police departments. No interpretation needed.  Feel free to drop me any further unformation you have on this guy and Ill see if the Aussie police want to talk to me Smiley

Hello icoiners,
Its really sad to see some of icoin team members leaving the scene or no longer involve in icoin. I personally worked with them to create the icoin video which will be released soon, these ppl are honest and nice to work with. Hopefully, we will have more great people to join the team.  Smiley

Initial users didn't left. I think that iCoin has future.

That is good to know! I take it a lot of the users behind iCoin don't actually post on this ANN.

I have had my doubts in the past but the team has always delivered, I don't think I have seen one complaint from the community where something wasn't given.

The web designer didn't even post on the forums much, only teamicoin, viperbass and sometimes bigridg7.
Yet I would rather have captainhook posting then any of the above because he is the one that gets to decide how the premine gets spent and until that premine is spent he does have all the power and it doesn't matter what any support person says.
852  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICN] iCoin - 15 Merchants, Updated Android Wallet. Video to be released on: April 14, 2014, 02:33:07 PM
Blackcoin is pretty amazing story. Just by having multi pool backing it to keep the price up it has attracted lot of investment. Currently 74 million coins and trading at 50000 and iCoin with 10 million coins
is trading at 460. That just shows what amazing investment iCoin could be if the team could do something to attract buyers. It would take less btc then blackcoin to get price up.

I am convinced the premine is what holding this coin back like everyone says.

The thing that made blackcoin successful is that it was the first hybrid PoW/PoS making it much better distributed that something like nextcoin (1 week of mining vs. 70 initial investors). I feel recent decreased mining profitability is going to be a lasting trend making energy efficiency a premium.

I think the best strategy is to make icoin a hybrid PoW/PoS and utilize x11 during the mining phase. You could keep the original coin release schedule and once the block rewards hit 3 icn (the minimum block reward) switch it over to PoS. At this point, there would be roughly 30M coins in circulation. From there, every account would receive interest equal to what a 3 icn block reward would bring to the market each year for the remainder of the 900 year coin release schedule. All of the premine would have to be used prior to the switch to PoS.

This plan would make icoin a unique technology and it would still have the best name in the crypto market.

This plan is a good one.

Can the community come up with ideas to spend the premine? It needs to go!

pending BTC withdraw ...........idahosk

Your btc has been stolen, you can spam this chat a million times and it will not appear in your wallet. Please read Bitari's post and lets take this to the Police, if we don't we deserve to have our bitcoins stolen for not having a fucking backbone.
858  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarket.io | New, self-moderated support and news thread. on: April 04, 2014, 10:35:12 AM
Thanks Bitari, I will be doing up a mail later today so these scamming fucknuts are brought to justice, if it wasn't for Holzer who captured Kenneths details this site would be long gone.

Even though my personal btc was deposited before the exploits it's clear that this is a scam because of the btc deposits that users did after the exploits have not been given back. So everyone lets get together and give these scamming keyboard warriors a reality check.
859  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICN] iCoin - IPO for Mintpal votes, N-Scrypt Testing Underway on: April 01, 2014, 11:14:38 PM
Anyone noticed the "pump" on https://poloniex.com/exchange an hour ago?  ICN briefly went up by 300% and peaked at 0.00002112.
Stood on first place on coinwarz. Net hashrate also spiked... still up at 300 MH.

It's only the start. It will go back to 3000 in next week. First... It will be third N-scrypt after VertCoin and ExeCoin and people will start to mine it more and more. And second... Is CryptoCurrency convention that will be at 6th april.

That was only the spike... Nothing more, but stable growth will be in next week.

Guys just remember if iCoin gets onto a high volume exchange like Mintpal then the price can really go up a lot higher.

We still have the IPO for Mintpal votes at a rate of 1500. 0.075 btc for 5000 iCoin and seeing as the price spiked above 2000 today this isn't such a bad deal.

Please pm Viperbass or I with the proof and we will send the 5000 iCoin to your wallet ASAP.

MintPal is a great exchange, judging by the votes though we need to be doing more to get the coin higher up the league table. Please keep voting if you are a MintPal member, if not sign up, and remember the IPO to vote with BTC and receive iCoin

KC

Poloniex lowest sell order is slightly over 1500 as I am writing up this post, so the IPO for mintpal vote is a great option right now.
