For example, and I've mentioned it before on this thread: do you think it's acceptable to shrug off the fact that DiguSign returns errors when trying to search for signed embedded documents? That was first reported at the end of January. I've reported several other issues as well, just not here on this thread, not yet anyway, since I'm really curious to see if there is anyone else actually using the products and coming across these issues.

You consider this drama? The drama is the situation where 1/2 functional products are developed and nobody cares, and then everyone gets in a huff when someone brings up real issues that should be fixed in priorty fashion.

I think you've got the world turned upside down, but hey, that's just my opinion and you're entitled to continue thinking as you please.

We all make our own choices, and we're also responsible for our decisions.

As for me, I'll continue to bring serious thinking to this thread, even if it means pointing out flaws, since they can never be fixed if not first seen and identified. Again, anyone who feels the need to clearly let the world know that they have no interest in improving shortcomings, by all means, be our guest, and when frivolity fails, keep moaning and groaning and letting the insults and attacks flow against those who want something better than half-baked.

Please note we are constantly reading the forum and taking input from people through PM's, tweets, emails etc as this is our best way of discovering issues. We have a new version of DiguSign thats been under development for some time addressing these issues and more. Thank you everyone for giving feedback on multiple platforms and helping us iron out some of these issues.

Knowing that you (and the rest of the core group) received my late January reports directly via PM and email, I must be honest and say that this is the first I've heard about the new version of DiguSign. Sounds good. Is that being developed alongside the new gaming wallet by any chance? Speaking of which, how's that going?

Being your friend must be tough, you always manage to see the bad side of even positive news. Try smiling or even laughing from time to time Smiley

Oh, he decided to go against the community because no-one wanted to answer his sneaky questions.
People are working hard in the dev team I guess, and he got upset and required answers, like a customer would ask to a provider.

And since the drama is over, but the guy is still negative.. he kinda deserve the troll award too now :p

Your post is meant to suggest that you feel victimized? Is that what you wished to express to the world?

It has nothing to do with infantile concepts like going "against the community", and that kind of simplistic thinking only makes more evident the lack of ability to tackle serious issues.

The difference is between childish games and serious business.

I this is HUUUUGE, why is this not promoted?

Good question.

Could a possible answer be the fear of success? Or just the need to keep accumulating DGB on the cheap? Or ...? Truth is, they're pretty much leaving it up to people's imaginations (not just with this - it happens all the time, witness the most recent example in South Africa), with the exception of a few dots that the well informed and studious can connect . . .

Or because its not completed yet and there seems to be no way to earn any Digibytes from playing it yet??

I've just linked mine and my sons steam accounts, so we will see if there are any payouts

Edit
My son played CSGO for a few hours this morning and so far, no stats have updated on the digibyte gaming site.

Yep. That's typical too. How many products do we have that are only 1/2 functional?

. . . with a lackadaisical, as if it doesn't matter, attitude.

The KEY with GAMERS is getting them to mine when they're not gaming.

That's where the real win-win is: paid to play is unsustainable promo, whereas mining when not playing generates real income for them while also strengthening the network for everyone at the same time.

Some Chart TA for those who are interested in the market outlook:

https://www.coinigy.com/s/i/56ddc07a/

We are seeing higher lows - a steady increase in price since the bottom.

With all the new volume entering into the alternative coin markets, we are already seeing a major increase in price of many premium coins like MAID, FCT, DASH...etc. I have already seen an increase in buy support from 40BTC to ~60BTC in the past few days - without any major price increase. The pressure may begin to lift price over time - continuing with the positive trend.

The Reward over risk looks very good - nearing 12.0. What many investors look for are a ratio of at least 2.0 or greater. The only throw off from the charts are the periodic spikes. We need to continue to see the gradual price increase over time to help aid in washing out those ugly bull trap spikes.

Why do we get these spikes? Well, the sell book is pretty thin - and whenever we have any news of any sort, you have a hoard of people FOMO buying the 2-5BTC sell orders per satoshi. It is realtively easy to break past these barriers.

What DGB really needs is an increase in marketcap + liquidity to help stabilize the price.

In summary, DGB is a premium coin w/o the premium market cap. This may be due to some "lack" of communication here on the Bitcointalk forum -however, this may be for a very good reason - and for those who wait, they may be rewarded in a big way.

Rock on DGB Holdings!

Nicely summed up! I really couldn't have said it better. Really!

Somebody big is accumulating DGB on the cheap for as long as they can with an aggressive bid - a long term buyer that only buys on the bid, but is willing to raise his/her bid with the market to surprising levels.

We just need one thing and that one thing is the video of that conference when Jared starts talking and when Jared finishes his talk.
AND THEN we can say "JARED IS KILLING IT!"  Cool

Or just the PDF of his presentation, or outline . . .

Presumedly it was a prepared presentation, and it would only take a couple of minutes to post that basic info to the blog and then tweet it . . .

. . . just saying.

Not even a tweet? Tina and Andrew and the entire gang are all out on the town too?

And signed embedded documents still can't be searched? Maybe they're feverishly working on that for Barclays.  Cheesy

Really painful.

Oh well, maybe next time. When's the next conference?

Is DigiByteTip withdrawal broken? I've got an "Awaiting transaction response" that's been sitting there since Feb. 17 . . .

This was reported for the first time on this thread on the 20th, but since there's been no response either public or private, I ask again.

Please check the logs for pending withdrawals awaiting transaction response.

TIA

Hmm i dont know HR and last month Jared and team are very busy preparing for the events next friday and end of the month

All will be sorted out asap.

I just tried to withdraw a lesser amount - I was trying to withdraw my entire balance without success - and it went through, so it looks like it's working okay as long as it's not the entire balance.

Edit: looking at my balance, it looks like there was a 2 DGB fee that was charged, and that's most likely the reason the entire amount for withdrawal was being held up even though there was no message alerting to that fact.

As far as I'm concerned we've settled this. I'm not going to take out time to go through code I haven't written, in a language I'm not fluent in to answer a question for you, I'm sorry. I won't respond any further so please don't insist.

Sorry? Can you show me where I specifically asked you to do anything? Other than accept my 50,000 DGB donation to your telegraph project?

The question was a general question directed at the people who have the knowledge to respond WITHOUT reading anything given the fact that they WROTE the code.

It's another thing entirely that other people feel the need to step up with comments like everyone should know how to read a little bit of code in the 21st century . . . and then have such little sense of humor when someone so cordially disagrees.

Well, at least you didn't say I wasn't nice. Grin

BTW, Comments on those scamming allegations against Esotericizm? (Talking about someone who is an example of being nice!)

HR as far as I understand it 20% of the blocks are ASIC, 20% are Scrypt, 60% are GPU (I do not know if these are equally distributed).

That's not the issue. The block find distribution is 20/20/20/20/20. About that there is no doubt.

The question is how does MultiShield adjust each algo's diff and as a function of exactly what? We know that before the most recent hardfork, global network hashrate (that is the combined total of the 5 algos) was key, and that all the algos diffs adjusted in response to changes in aggregate hashrate. The question is how much did that change? To what precise degree are the algos currently independent, and to what degree are they still inter-dependent?

I suggest reading the source code. ...with basic coding skills and the source code mentioned (that is freely available to the public), anyone can confirm it.

Forgive me mental, your post was just brought to my attention.

Read the code to find your answer? Are you off your rocker?

Could anyone imagine someone from Ubuntu saying something like that? From Redhat? SUSE? Any of the principal distros?

Could anyone imagine that such important, critical and key information isn't even documented in the first place?

And then, when someone asks, the answers are first to ignore, second to be flippant, third to seriously suggest it's not important, fourth to disqualify and personally attack the person asking . . .

Does that sound normal to everyone?

We, the end users should read the code to answers central questions about how DigiByte works?

Are you serious? (And don't play coy by saying I didn't quote your entire post - the rest was superfluous, and certainly didn't answer the questions.)

Again, is there anyone on the DigiByte team professional enough to start that basic documentation that everyone can understand by putting the following code in layman's terms instead of suggesting we all need to learn to code? (I make that a general question to all, not just to you, since Jared did the same thing, albeit more indirectly and with much more obfuscation.

Code:
//Global retarget
CBigNum bnNew;
bnNew.SetCompact(pindexPrevAlgo->nBits);

bnNew *= nActualTimespan;
bnNew /= nAveragingTargetTimespanV4;

//Per-algo retarget
int nAdjustments = pindexPrevAlgo->nHeight + NUM_ALGOS - 1 - pindexLast->nHeight;
if (nAdjustments > 0)
{
for (int i = 0; i < nAdjustments; i++)
{
bnNew *= 100;
bnNew /= (100 + nLocalTargetAdjustment);
}
}
else if (nAdjustments < 0)//make it easier
{
for (int i = 0; i < -nAdjustments; i++)
{
bnNew *= (100 + nLocalTargetAdjustment);
bnNew /= 100;
}
}

How many people are truly interested in something like this? My guess is there's not that many and our time is best spent elsewhere but if that proves to be wrong I'm sure we could sort something out.

I would just like to add that HR's tone and way of communicating isn't very inviting. Your not really motivating anyone by demanding answers (as none of us work for you etc.) with the way your asking your questions. Maybe if you had been nicer this would've all been answered and resolved ages ago.

P.S. I think in the 21st century everyone should no at least a tiny lil bit of code Tongue

Quite honestly, the lack of explanation about how the difficulty retargeting works, in a clear and understandable way that everyone can understand, doesn't give a very good impression, and I don't think anyone would say that repeatedly asking for a yet to be given answer is a reason for not giving it, much less for not being "nicer".

Of course, if someone had said that there still is no answer adequately formulated and that it's being worked on, or something of the sort, then impatient insistence might be a basis for criticism . . .

Thankfully the code is very nicely commented, but I still don't agree that we should insist on ordinary users having to read the code.

In any event, since the most effective way to promote activity on this thread when everything is quiet is to bring the subject up again, not all is lost. Grin

BTW: what's the deal with Esotericizm?

Latest screens:

I've noticed that the Play Store shows only 10-15 installs. This product looks good to go. What could be done to get the word out to as wide an audience as possible? Would a new ANN thread specific to Noble Pay be appropriate? Could be a nice start.

Removed it for the time being, until this is cleared up o0o0. As much as I like this idea, I would have trouble supporting it after everything that has happened to customers of cryptsy, if what you say is true!

Just saying check all the topics out... its a hot conversation piece.... bitebi9 was registered by project investors which is paul vernon. He's run a series of other ventures that fell on their ass... penny auction sites, think there was some adult entertainment in there too. Paul vernon was also conversing with josh garza and cryptsy was gifted a prime controller. Josh garza was using cryptsy as his dumping grounds of choice... paul knew all about it... xpy was added rather fast to the exchange on release. Paul's fingers are in a lot of out of date expired pies...

He lied to customers for years about no hacks... shot down coinfires allegations when he knew some of their comments had merit and their head of investigations Horus is now in hiding (Horus btw owned the cryptsy.ca canada arm of it... site is now down). Its one big clusterfuck.

With digibyte branching into gaming and other such ventures i don't recommend any advertising of things that can give negative publicity considering all the effort you guys put in.

I don't have any digibyte anymore cleared out a while a go but i do like the coin still.

I urge Jared or whoever is using the Digibyte forum account here to look into bitebi9 and paul vernon of cryptsy and modify the post as required so its not quoted and relinked.. i'll modify mine.

o0o0,

Thanks for the heads up!

Can you post links to get people who want to be better informed on this pointed in the right direction?

TIA

a little flaw is that its doesnt stake at all if its closed for to long
it should stake but with zero rewards because the system want to reward just active wallets

so i think use magi XMG ruleset for rewards is fine but for weight (which affect chance to mint) its wrong

the goal from usability side should be always no micromanagement needed

a zero reward stake would create no need for micromanagement

if for some reason u where offline a month ur first day u stake for zero rewards but next day u start earning normal

Makes sense. Could you please create bounty for this? Not sure how much work is needed for this but we should definitely track interesting concepts like this. Thanks!

Would sure be great to see this fixed, if anything to keep angry users who think the reason why they can't stake is due to something more serious (which isn't entirely their fault since the error message is erroneous) and flame the board a la Pringles. Can't be that hard to do - just take the reward down to zero after n confirmations . . .

Or does that sound too negative for you?

How are you going to convince any new person into crypto to invest in something thats bringing 3btc worth in circulation daily?

Mining is very important ... This is what will drive the value ... because people will always have coins that they acquired for less ... but there is only so many so the price should creep upwards ...
Do you think you've addressed the question adequately?

The 3 btc is not really relevant ...
Is that an slight of hand disqualification?

Mining does serve its purpose that is not the argument. Its the inflation.
... you should ... you should ... you should ...
After 4-5 lines, again, without addressing the issue, you end with a succession of "you shoulds".

Is it really that difficult to treat things seriously, and people with respect? In this case you might have begun by recognizing that the issue is of long standing concern, and then cite the reasons why the pros have won out over the cons, for example, perhaps by even posting links to those previous conversations. You could also make some of those old comparisons like that with DOGE to underscore the uncertainty regarding whether a cut in total coin supply would really help or not. You could also mention long term M2 money supply comparisons that have been made and are there for the reading . . . In short, the question could be dealt with in a serious and respectful manner.

I understand the need to feel like we have things under control, but life isn't always so kind. Glib and frivolous responses may give a momentary sensation of perfect normality, but long term the result is the opposite. People with serious questions who seek open dabate and interchange of ideas with others are driven away when that discourse is stifled.

Why is so difficult to have real open honest, and, yes, even serious and intelligent discussions on this thread? And you know by now Jumbley, that this question is not limited to you as my "journeys" of the last few weeks have clearly shown that this issue goes right to the top.

Why is it so difficult to stand back and let others engage in conversations instead of always jumping in "to give a final solution" precisely where final solutions often don't exist? And where they do exist, is it so difficult to discuss and give them in an understadable and serious way? From the most highly technical, to the promotional, to the most basic of user usabilty?

Since I have also discovered that things need to be dealt with clearly and one at a time, please treat all my rhetorical questions and examples as something used to support the need to formulate this main question: The idea behind a community bulletin board like this is to promote interaction in a professional and serious manner that inspires confidence, and not cut it off with frivolousness (magic knights might be a good way to explain things to young children, but it doesn't have the same effect with adults), to engage people, and not to alienate, don't you agree?

BTW, that's a yes/no question too. Wink

Like I've said, very few will insist like I have - most will immediately desist.

^^ It was the ONLY question I've been asking.

Take note that the related "unequal" payout aspect of the issue is now a moot point having this central and key aspect of algo difficulty to mine question finally answered.

Cheers
