HR as far as I understand it 20% of the blocks are ASIC, 20% are Scrypt, 60% are GPU (I do not know if these are equally distributed).

That's not the issue. The block find distribution is 20/20/20/20/20. About that there is no doubt.

The question is how does MultiShield adjust each algo's diff and as a function of exactly what? We know that before the most recent hardfork, global network hashrate (that is the combined total of the 5 algos) was key, and that all the algos diffs adjusted in response to changes in aggregate hashrate. The question is how much did that change? To what precise degree are the algos currently independent, and to what degree are they still inter-dependent?

I suggest reading the source code. ...with basic coding skills and the source code mentioned (that is freely available to the public), anyone can confirm it.

Forgive me mental, your post was just brought to my attention.

Read the code to find your answer? Are you off your rocker?

Could anyone imagine someone from Ubuntu saying something like that? From Redhat? SUSE? Any of the principal distros?

Could anyone imagine that such important, critical and key information isn't even documented in the first place?

And then, when someone asks, the answers are first to ignore, second to be flippant, third to seriously suggest it's not important, fourth to disqualify and personally attack the person asking . . .

Does that sound normal to everyone?

We, the end users should read the code to answers central questions about how DigiByte works?

Are you serious? (And don't play coy by saying I didn't quote your entire post - the rest was superfluous, and certainly didn't answer the questions.)

Again, is there anyone on the DigiByte team professional enough to start that basic documentation that everyone can understand by putting the following code in layman's terms instead of suggesting we all need to learn to code? (I make that a general question to all, not just to you, since Jared did the same thing, albeit more indirectly and with much more obfuscation.

Code:
//Global retarget
CBigNum bnNew;
bnNew.SetCompact(pindexPrevAlgo->nBits);

bnNew *= nActualTimespan;
bnNew /= nAveragingTargetTimespanV4;

//Per-algo retarget
int nAdjustments = pindexPrevAlgo->nHeight + NUM_ALGOS - 1 - pindexLast->nHeight;
if (nAdjustments > 0)
{
for (int i = 0; i < nAdjustments; i++)
{
bnNew *= 100;
bnNew /= (100 + nLocalTargetAdjustment);
}
}
else if (nAdjustments < 0)//make it easier
{
for (int i = 0; i < -nAdjustments; i++)
{
bnNew *= (100 + nLocalTargetAdjustment);
bnNew /= 100;
}
}

How many people are truly interested in something like this? My guess is there's not that many and our time is best spent elsewhere but if that proves to be wrong I'm sure we could sort something out.

I would just like to add that HR's tone and way of communicating isn't very inviting. Your not really motivating anyone by demanding answers (as none of us work for you etc.) with the way your asking your questions. Maybe if you had been nicer this would've all been answered and resolved ages ago.

P.S. I think in the 21st century everyone should no at least a tiny lil bit of code Tongue

Quite honestly, the lack of explanation about how the difficulty retargeting works, in a clear and understandable way that everyone can understand, doesn't give a very good impression, and I don't think anyone would say that repeatedly asking for a yet to be given answer is a reason for not giving it, much less for not being "nicer".

Of course, if someone had said that there still is no answer adequately formulated and that it's being worked on, or something of the sort, then impatient insistence might be a basis for criticism . . .

Thankfully the code is very nicely commented, but I still don't agree that we should insist on ordinary users having to read the code.

In any event, since the most effective way to promote activity on this thread when everything is quiet is to bring the subject up again, not all is lost. Grin

BTW: what's the deal with Esotericizm?

As far as I'm concerned we've settled this. I'm not going to take out time to go through code I haven't written, in a language I'm not fluent in to answer a question for you, I'm sorry. I won't respond any further so please don't insist.

Sorry? Can you show me where I specifically asked you to do anything? Other than accept my 50,000 DGB donation to your telegraph project?

The question was a general question directed at the people who have the knowledge to respond WITHOUT reading anything given the fact that they WROTE the code.

It's another thing entirely that other people feel the need to step up with comments like everyone should know how to read a little bit of code in the 21st century . . . and then have such little sense of humor when someone so cordially disagrees.

Well, at least you didn't say I wasn't nice. Grin

BTW, Comments on those scamming allegations against Esotericizm? (Talking about someone who is an example of being nice!)

I used to mine alot of Digibytes, however I just found my very first DGB buy order!
I wanted to share it with you guys ^^

Ofc at the time, on Litebite.eu it was x1000 the amount you were buying for DGB, so 1000 was 1,000,000.
What a great deal then, wish we could buy more at this price.

Even BTC price was around -400€ then. Damn these crypto rocks xD

DGB is on a good road, and this community will keep helping alot!

Stop these Hype money, get in DGB!

Why all the drama in this topic, can't we talk about the conference that's happening in a couple of days? You know, the one where Jared gets to speak? Because, wake up, wake up: this thread is about DGB. You know, the coin? The one with an amazing future ahead of it?

Bunch of negative nancy's. What are you, women?

Well you quoted my post that's why I felt like I needed to respond. The allegations against Eso are doctored photoshopped public defamation and fraudulent allegations (which frankly I believe is illegal).

Due to the lack of regulation and guarantees in this business, everyone is good until they are proven otherwise! In this case the association with Cryptsy and the people behind that failed business is far too strong for my liking so I will not be supporting or encouraging any member of our community to use it for the time being. For all I know, the dgb being sold off this site could have been stolen from some of our community members already.

We would all like to see DigiByte being exchanged and represented in China but not at any cost! However, DigiByte cannot dictate to any exchange, give or remove permission to buy and sell our coin, this is entirely up to the exchange and the people that use it.

I guess it is not entirely impossible that someone in China bought this enterprise as a good to go business before what we all know about Cryptsy now, came to light. It would be very unfortunate for them if that was the case but the onus is now on them alone to prove that this is what actually happened and disassociate themselves from crooks and this mess. I would like to see, at least, a concerted and believable attempt at doing that before I reconsider.

Project investors is Pauls company... its just a face that gets screwed so he doesn't like all companies. He's run off to china with his mistress and he has just migrated a site he has in usa to a new customer base. No smart chinese company would have someone else register and run their domain under their banner. They'd need a bloody good explanation for that one.

Ask them what the company registered's name is that "bought" the exchange off cryptsy. Some searches on ownership would report likely Paul's chinese girlfriend or him direct. Thats why bitebi9 is registered by project investors and ceo paul vernon... its in his control.

So how'd he manage to divorce his wife... have no income only debts... have his exchange hacked losing funds yet still afford a 1.4 million dollar beach house in this time... then wait for it sell that to his wife for $10 in transfer as divorce proceedings. His wife has no job and income and wants $6600 a month in maintenance. She wouldn't take a property onboard if it was a debt... it would be sold in settlement.

Its all very well planned and bitebi9 is pauls... there is nothing they could show to prove otherwise but people are entitled to make their own mind up but should read everything. They lied for a year and a half on the hacks saying its never happened... attacked coinfire, sent c&d's everywhere and then later come forward and say they lied... i wouldn't trust them now on that history alone Smiley.
I wholeheartedly agree with you if this is a Paul Vernon company, I want nothing to do with it. The guy has proven himself unworthy of the trust of this community!
Looks like we have been able to withdraw our support from this site, so maybe the other coin communities should attempt this as well!

Is DigiByteTip withdrawal broken? I've got an "Awaiting transaction response" that's been sitting there since Feb. 17 . . .

This was reported for the first time on this thread on the 20th, but since there's been no response either public or private, I ask again.

Please check the logs for pending withdrawals awaiting transaction response.

TIA

I just tried to withdraw a lesser amount - I was trying to withdraw my entire balance without success - and it went through, so it looks like it's working okay as long as it's not the entire balance.

Edit: looking at my balance, it looks like there was a 2 DGB fee that was charged, and that's most likely the reason the entire amount for withdrawal was being held up even though there was no message alerting to that fact.
