Barca are a bit weird at the moment. They had a once in a lifetime group of players and are now quite meh, despite Messi and Suarez being there.

I think Dembele could have stayed another year or two at Dortmund as Barca look a bit of a shambles right now. I hope he does well though as I like him.

I think it's a combination of both the players getting older and leaving to chill in less competition, like all these players that go to New York, China or Abu Dabi and live there on these leagues where its less taxing on your body but you still making millions, and also, Barca directive being a mess with the contracts.

Messi will be gone soon I think, Pique will also retire and become a president or a trainer of Barca, Suarez still got some years... but yeah they need new people soon or their whole team will suffer.

3- Can you tell me what exchange can I use to dump that will allow me to create a new deposit address per transaction? That would be another additional 80 transactions to the exchange..
You can use https://shapeshift.io/ 80 times.
1- move BTC from address old1 to new1
2- move BCH from address old1 via Shapeshift to BTC on new1
3- wait some time for added privacy
4- repeat 80 times

This gives privacy and all your BTC balances get their own BCH value added.

Doesn't Shapeshift charge an extra? Also what I don't like is, I couldn't be able to set sell orders, just keep dumping at market prices... I wouldn't mind that if necessary but what about the fees compared to regular exchanges? I was told that Bitstamp allows you generate new deposit addresses, so I guess I need to compare Shapeshift with that option.

Btw.. im still stuck at 90%...im hoping that the post-fork blocks are faster. Aren't they ironically all smaller than the pre-fork blocks? they can't even fill 300kbs worth of transactions so it should download and verify faster.
843  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Doubts about BTC -> BCH process on: August 25, 2017, 04:04:20 PM
I would still do it if I was you. At that rate we will be hearing from you in Monday. It might get slower as you progress, since blocks increased over time, which means more transactions for your laptop to verify for each block and your progress is almost definitively shown in blocks, not transactions, so it is a bit misleading. You got a long way to go my friend.

Im at %78 right now, with an hourly increase of %0.30. This is indeed an act of insanity. The patience required is that of a Tibetan Monk to sync this sucker.

Honestly im considering installing ElectronCash on my laptop (which like I said, my laptop has no data that I would be paranoid about a hack from ElectronCash software and whatnot) and just export the private keys on there and get it done with.

But in a way I want to wait because what if we hit $1000 with BCH? that would be a hell of a profit.... needing to sync the full client forces you to wait, which may lead in selling for a better profit (or for worse if it dumps of course..)
844  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Chart of the Day on: August 25, 2017, 03:32:46 PM
Monero is experiencing another consecutive great increase in price. XMR/USD markets are currently rallying as trader respond to the upward price spike that pumped prices by around 20%.

chart source:
https://cryptocoincharts.info/pair/xmr/usd/bitfinex/10-days

Is this really all due the Bithumb exchange addition only? Is the Korean market this powerful? Everyone seems excited here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/6vwlfl/hello_im_korean/

Another positive new that could potentially be driving the price up:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/6vxnlj/localmoneroco_is_now_open_finally_moneros_own/

Other than these new exchanges, I can't find any reasons for the current pump, which leads me to ask... how much can these news sustain the pump?

I don't see any new major breakthroughs in technology or anything, just addition in two exchanges.

One year ago Dembele was bought by BVB for 10 mln,Mbepe who was Mbepeone year ago,Aubameyang yet another example.Whowas Inieste long time ago,Xavi and other top Barca player .Now educated by Barca Alcantara is playing for Bayern,Bartra for BVB,Thello for PSG etc, something not good is happening with Barca thay are loosing his style

Im hoping that Dembele is a decent enough replacement for Neymar. It is really unfortunate that Barca has lost Neymar. The executives dealing with contracts in Barca are really making one of the biggest mess ever. Messi rumors of leaving area also increasing every year.

Imagine in a couple of years Barca will have no Xavi, no Messi, no Iniesta, no Neymar... everyone will be gone, they need new elite players.

Ronaldo will be kicking ass for years to come as long as the tax problem doesn't become huge.

@pereira4. Then maybe he was really taking steroids during training and he thought that he would get away with it. Who would take a steroid pill orally if it has to take weeks before he gets the effects?

Well if he knows about how steroids work, he wouldn't take it near fight time, but we don't know exactly what dose what found and we don't know exactly about the substance, was it an anabolic steroid or a PED or what?

I always knew Bones was roiding to get that physique. The guy has a super fast metabolism, he looked pretty jacked lately while still having a low BF. This is just not possible with that type of tall, lanky, fast metabolism bodytype..

We are looking at a 6'4'' guy, not some 5'9'' guy that even if he is skinny, can look bulky due the shorter muscles with natural training.
847  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Doubts about BTC -> BCH process on: August 24, 2017, 11:57:42 PM
I have doubts regarding how to obtain my BCH (to dump them)

I got all of my BTC on Bitcoin Core, so I was considering installing Bitcoin Cash full node on my secondary computer. Questions

1- What blockchain files can I reuse on the Bitcoin Cash folder to not download the damn thing from scratch?
2- Considering I have around 80 different addresses with BTC, I will need to do 80 different transactions into a brand new wallet.dat, then put the empty wallet.dat into the Bitcoin cash full node folder and once Bitcoin Cash client syncs, I should see my BCH and my BTC should be safe since the addresses no longer match. Can I now send the BCH to the exchange or do I need to also do another additional 80 transactions into 80 different addresses before sending it to an exchange?
3- Can you tell me what exchange can I use to dump that will allow me to create a new deposit address per transaction? That would be another additional 80 transactions to the exchange..

Now you understand why I haven't even bothered with getting my BCH yet. The time, and fee expenses on so many transactions is such a mess.

there is a much simpler way obtaining BCH:
1.create a separate instance,like a virtual machine
2.download and install electron cash BCH wallet   http://www.electroncash.org/
3.move all your coins out of your wallet, for added security
4.import your private keys into electron cash wallet
5.profit! you should have the same amount of BCC as you had bitcoins in your wallet
6.dump BCC Smiley

I did this more than a week ago and was able to sell BCC at 0.15 at Viabtc exchange, probably the only one accepting BCC at the time without a problem
transactions took almost a day to confirm, you require 1 confirmation to be able to trade
but 20+ confirmations to be able to withdraw traded BTC or whichever asset you traded into

I think I should have done that, but now it's too late, im at 73%, I guess I can wait, but man this is annoying, it's so slow, im sick of it. The progress is now 0.35% per hour. I just wanted to avoid exposing my private keys because that is a mistake, but I guess once I move my BTC to another wallet, I can export the private keys on the empty BTC wallet into the BCH wallet. I just wanted to avoid that but I realized now how incredibly annoying it is to sync the Bitcoin ABC node specially on my laptop.
848  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mayweather Vs McGregor: Info and prediction thread on: August 24, 2017, 11:35:25 PM
I saw the last press release and Floyd Mayweather was looking calm, collected and professional. Conor McGregor looked nervous and a bit out of place in my opinion.

Floyd can still talk really sharp, compared to most boxings his age, it shows how he is top shape both physical and mental condition.

McGregor is being overconfident.
There are reports that 95% of gamblers are betting on McGregor to win the game this weekend and even in spite of that Mayweather is still the favorite to win the bout, This isn't an MMA fight and i dont see how in any place in the multiverse will Connor McGregor win this fight, its not going to happen at all.

Nobody said that Trump could win, and he won. Nobody said Brexit would happen, and it happened.

Everyone was saying that LePen would lose, and she lost.

The predictable thing is that Mayweather will win. Im not willing to risk any money on McGregor winning. You might as well buy some lottery tickets.

Odds too good to miss the chance Cool Cool

Im more than agree with you. Although Floyd is big favourite in the fight, the crazy Viking Mcgregor can do it and win the fight.
Im with you in that bet.

I like your bet and it's possible that you can hit the nut with Conor. Good luck with your bet and I do believe also that Floyd is just a big talk. And they are in different stance of fighting and I love it more to see this fight win by Conor.

How is "Floyd" just all all talk? Floyd is one of the best boxers ever, I think it is pretty obvious. You can't say it's all talk. Most likely Floyd will win and you will lose your 0.19 BTC, BUT what im saying is... it is impossible that the miracle happens? Nope, because we have seen things that go against all odds actually happening before, so good luck to you, but Floyd isn't going to let his legacy get ruined at all.
849  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 214: Cormier vs Jones 2 Info and Prediction Thread on: August 24, 2017, 11:32:17 PM
But why would Jon take the oral steroids? To what purpose was it for? If he is proven guilty and that he is removed from being the UFC's light heavyweight champion, then maybe we should organize a shame walk for him like in the Game of Thones. hehehe

Well the whole story is very strange. If he did it, then why, and if he didn't then who would put an oral steroid in his food or whatever? or was it in a drink? it's very strange... who would risk getting caught by putting drugs in a top elite athlete? This is all weird. I think both parties are lying. We will find out soon what happened.
850  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is the HD wallet format backwards compatible? on: August 24, 2017, 02:39:48 PM

Yes. When you relaunch it, be sure that you do not have --reindex or --reindex-chainstate in your command as those will cause it to restart the reindex. When you start it again without those options, it will pick up where it left off.

Well thanks for that, I knew that I did the right thing.. I was about to close my computer and run it again later, I just wanted to hive my poor laptop some breathing, it has been working 4 days in a row now and it's summer, im still at 70%...

Unfortunately you can't. Older versions of Bitcoin Core do not know what to do with the HD wallets, so they will refuse to start with one.

On that case, I guess I can always download pre-0.13.0 Bitcoin Core and generate a new wallet.dat file there to still stay with the old wallet format.

I just don't see any positives going into a format that's not backwards compatible. HD wallet doesn't seem that important, it's not like you can save a seed and generate the wallet like you do with Electrum, so I don't see it as being a "must have". You need to keep making backups everytime you create new addresses, but that forces you keep making said backups and stay alert and keep an eye on your wallet files.

Sorry Jon Jones fans but your guy cheated once again.  I honestly did not expect this and I thought he looked good in his second bout vs Cormier, but no.  He failed the drug test.  He hasn't been stripped off the title yet, but he might be.

He's the Lance Armstrong of MMA, basically.  Grin

UFC STATEMENT ON JON JONES
http://www.ufc.com/news/UFC-Statement-On-Jon-Jones-08-22-17

I was just looking at this right now... what the hell man?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WeqnoYs4LIM

Jon Jones talen it indisputable, but at this point, how much % is drugs, and how much % is himself in the wins?

Maybe Daniel Cormier predicted future in his latest post-fight interview, and they will meet for a third time? But I think Dana White is going to be too pissed off to ever let him again... but money is money.

A third rematch between Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones would be another success no matter what.

Im sure DC is feeling good now, because Jones victory is not 100% clear. But it's unfortunate that the rematch may not happen due USADA suspending him for 4 years.

But let's wait, maybe Jones gets lucky and USADA reveals something in favor of Jon Jones, but it's not looking good.
854  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is the HD wallet format backwards compatible? on: August 23, 2017, 03:31:22 PM
Oh man, I have been trying to sync this thing for a couple of days now. Im at %60, with %0.80 hourly increase on average.... so it's going to take me a couple days more.

Can I at least turn the computer off for a while and continue where I left at? Im worried that if I launch the client again with the -reindex-chainstate options.

Consensus has nothing to do with this. If the wallet software is based off of Bitcoin Core 0.13.0+, then it should be able to use the HD wallets.

Well, I would like to be able to run older software if I choose to. The paranoid in me feels like it's not a good idea to lose compatibility with older clients. Who knows if you ever need to go back for some reason?
855  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2017 Football Summer Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 23, 2017, 12:25:18 PM
Josep Maria Bartomeu should leave Barca immediately. He is a total mess and is making everyone confused with Messi's contract. He has been saying months ago that Messi signed the contract for 2018, but other members of the executive are saying that the contract has not been signed. This is not professional, some people say one thing, others say another, meanwhile Barca fans are on panic mode at the thought of Messi leaving to another team, and spanish football fans in general don't want to lose Messi from the spanish league. I think this is why Neymar left, they seem like a mess when dealing with the contracts.

But now Barcelcona FC is sueing Neymar for the sum of 8.5M euro for leaving early in his contract and now want him to return a renewal bonus he was paid when he signed a new five-year deal.
Source: http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/41014149

Also Messi wants to leave Barca too for Manchester United?
Might fill the void that the Swede King has left while healing from his injury received during last season.

Looks like Neymar doesn't care from his instragram photos posted by Messi himself after the trade was done.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4813916/Neymar-reunited-former-Barcelona-team-mates.html

The Messi rumor is that Machensted United is paying 300M for him for 2018, it has not been confirmed by anyone, it's just a rumor. I am looking forward to see what finally happens with Messi. If Barca loses then Barca is going to be in massive problems, the team is losing so many good players and no new players of similar level replacing them.

Hristo Stoichkov said in an interview that Barca is doing a mess with player's contracts.

857  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Doubts about BTC -> BCH process on: August 22, 2017, 02:27:38 PM
The most important thing to worry about, is to move your bitcoin to a different address first. You will be exposing your private keys for the bch, which are the exact same private keys for your btc at the time of the fork. Unfortunately because of the way it sounds like you have it set up, it will be long and tedious with all the transactions and fees from so many different addresses.

I need, it will be a long and tedious process, and im not even started yet, im still syncing the Bitcoin ABC node on my laptop. I had my laptop on all day and all night, and im still at 38%, it says indexing headers or something lik that, so I guess it's just processing all the blocks folder that I copy-pasted from my Bitcoin Core folder (oh and this took hours to copy too, it was 127 GB) so now the laptop is processing all of that and creating the chainstate files.

If I don't dump the BCH immediately I may move my BCH to that ElectronCash wallet which apparently is like Electrum for BCH. I can't deal with running 2 nodes. Also, at what rate does the BCH chain grows? im worried that my laptop will run out of space.
858  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2016/17 on: August 22, 2017, 01:48:02 PM
Andres Iniesta is a vert tactic player, he doesn't need to have top stamina to play at high levels. It's similar to Xavi, he could still be playing at top level in Barca if he wanted to but I guess he was tired of the stress of top level football.

I hope Iniesta stays. Otherwise in a couple of years all the great players in spanish teams will be gone. Hopefully new starts will come. Isco is looking great in Real.
yes it's true that Iniesta similar just like a brain of Barcelona itself and i have to says he already being the next Xavi with very well so if he leave Barcelona after expired contract i think Barcelona have to discover the player who has a type of play like himself but in spanish team this country was never lack of the players like this and every generation always appear

Yeah the selection of players for the spanish team was pretty solid, spain is the only country to ever win an eurocup, a worldcup, and then another eurocup all three in a row, that was a hell of a team, but they underperformed lately. Some of the players got too old, Casillas is no longet the goalkeeper, they of course lost Xavi, and Torres used to be a killer but it has been underperforming too in the past few years. Iniesta is still solid.

Probably Isco will become the next Villa. I remember when Villa was scoring tons of goals. It's unfortunate that his career in Barca went so bad.
859  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2016/17 on: August 22, 2017, 12:17:18 PM
A very solid performance by Neymar in his first match with Paris St Germain, it is unfortunate that the Spanish League has lost this player, and now im hearing that maybe Messi is going to leave Barca for 300 million dollar deal for Manchester United. It would be devastating for Barca and Spanish League as a whole to lose the best player. I hope Ronaldo is not next.. and he was close to leaving this year.
There reports that Andrés Iniesta is considering leaving Barcelona when his current contracts expires, the current board of directors at the time has brought this upon themselves,  the internal wrangling between then has been bad for the team especially the deal in which Neymar joined the team.
Yeah he was getting old and he want to still play so it's natural he want to move to other club for get much time to play and other reason he can compete against young player that have much energy than him.
