Additionally, having people not satisfy their every minuscule needs and desires and going back to subsistence living isn't exactly a great way to live.

Yeah - not consuming every resource on this planet to produce shit you don't need is a bad thing. No more SUV's, overpriced designer shit and similar - what a tragedy  Cheesy

When it was about $1.20 I thought I'll wait a little while and it will settle at about $1.00 and then I'll buy. Look now what happened - it's trading at nearly $1.40. Just don't know what to do

Actually, i see both same & i don't understand anything.
Can anyone explain why i got same thing both time or what is wrong in mine?

There's nothing wrong with yours - it's working flawlessly. Read a little about how networks work and what port forwarding does - you'll understand  Wink

Would you mind grabbing a copy of http://miniupnp.tuxfamily.org/files/download.php?file=upnpc-exe-win32-20110418.zip and running upnpc-static.exe -a YourInternalIPv4 8333 8333 tcp and posting the output?

Sorry about the delay. After seeing the error message I realized what happened. I had manually forwarded 8333 on my router to another computer running bitcoin client. I now deleted the rule and it works ok.

Code:
C:\Users\peter>upnpc-static.exe -a 192.168.1.5 8333 8333 tcp
upnpc : miniupnpc library test client. (c) 2006-2011 Thomas Bernard
Go to http://miniupnp.free.fr/ or http://miniupnp.tuxfamily.org/
for more information.

After this I installed the new client on the other machine. When I turned "Map port using UPnP" the first machine's port forwarding was dropped by the router. How would I go about setting up multiple machines running bitcoin client behind 1 router?
849  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Please help test: Bitcoin version 0.3.21 release candidate on: April 20, 2011, 11:49:09 PM
I don't have an account with GitHub, so here goes:

UPnP doesn't seem to work. I checked "Map port using UPnP" and restarted the client but still stuck at 8 connections.
I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 32bit in VMware Fusion 3.1. utorrent UPnP works fine in the same environment.

Also, might be just me, but I think "Send" and "Cancel" buttons are too small in "Send Coins"(in Windows 7 default theme)
850  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The faucet should be giving ~0.003 BTC per person. on: April 20, 2011, 03:58:22 PM
I don't think the size of the blocks is the limiting factor, or at least I hope it is not, because IMO, higher number of transactions is exactly what we are aiming for. The way I understand it, fees are inbuilt into the system to supplement the amount awarded to the miners for the cpu/gpu cycles after difficulty increases to the point when it's no longer profitable.

If I understand it correctly and the fee is not necessary/the amount is too high at the moment, it should be lowered sooner rather than later.

Censorship won't ever get rid of CP. Hunting down and destroying people who harm children is another story though.

I second that. To solve a problem one has to address the cause not the symptom.

The most sought after in this system are the ones with submisive personality traits, incapable of independent thought and just smart enough to operate the machines.
The most capable and innovative individuals are kept from any influential positions at a miles length because otherwise it introduces instability

I believe this problem is being addressed as it is becoming a real issue in p2p community. Temporary solution is here: http://torrentfreak.com/firefox-add-on-undoes-u-s-government-domain-seizures-110414/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+Torrentfreak+%28Torrentfreak%29

Ahh, utopian societies  Smiley I often think about it and would like to believe that it is possible, but the current state of affairs is the best indication how fucked up we are. Whoever wrote that blog had good intentions at heart, so don't be too hard on them.

What gives me a warm feeling however, is that people are finally realizing that something is wrong.
