I will make sure not to, how did you get such a file? That may help users to know not to get files stolen. I hope you didn't lose anything and best of luck!
862  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is Newbie Status Really That Hard? on: May 05, 2013, 07:52:53 PM
I understand the process but their must be a better way. Many people join the forum when a pool problem occurs and feel the need to post within the pool's section but are unable to because of the 5 post restriction (4 hours is easy), but finding worthwhile posts to reply to are harder to come by.
Maybe a trial period in the pools forum only would be better, the moderators do hang out there as well.

I agree, people will just get pissed off when they can't post.
I wonder what anyone is gaining with these rules?

The think the forum is gaining is that they can limit all of their 'spam' theoretically to one sub-forum. The thing I've noticed is the newbie forum seems to have more moderators than other forums and I think that in a sense is to help limit their spam. I agree though with maybe a trial period in the pools forum but I posted by pools forum questions in the newbie section and they were answered quickly.

It is a small price to pay if it keeps the forums advertisement/Spam free Tongue

it creates more spam in the newbie forums, which makes it kind of frustrating to view.  Why not add phone number or e-mail verification to improve status faster, and then add a Captcha on each post.... wouldn't that make more sense to prevent spam bots?

That's true, but at least all the spam is restricted to one sub-forum. I'm pretty sure you need an e-mail to register and e-mail verification doesn't make a big difference since it takes 3 minutes to create an email these days. I wouldn't like a phone number verification though because I don't like giving out my phone number. Captcha in each post would prevent spam bots but could get annoying for non spam bots.

For someone who mostly lurks, the 5 posts requirement is a tough one.

The 5 posts is pretty easy, there are quite a few decent threads in here.

Regards,

Martin.

+1, I always thought that the 4 hour requirement, not the 5 posts requirement would be the hard one. There are at least several good threads and I think if someone wanted too they could get 5 posts in 10 minutes tops. Though that's just how it was for me.
865  Economy / Services / Re: Free instagram followers. YES... they are REAL people. on: May 05, 2013, 06:43:47 PM
Nice service. I don't have an instagram yet, so its kind of useless for me, however I can see the value it provides to other people who use instagram. Thanks for doing this for the community and best of luck!
866  Economy / Services / Re: Someone needs a gambling site on: May 05, 2013, 06:42:31 PM
Why don't you just post the job here rather than linking to it. I also think that you could probably make the title of the post better, I was not sure of what it was up until the point I clicked the link. Best of luck!
867  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Chinese will take over the Bitcoin Market. on: May 05, 2013, 06:40:54 PM
And when the value skyrockets, some people will cash in before everyone figures out that the value has skyrocketed and its profitable to mine, and then everyone will start mining and the difficulty will skyrocket. Oh well:) I support Bitcoin as a currency and would like to see the Chinese adopting it.
868  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is anyone still CPU mining? on: May 05, 2013, 06:39:06 PM
I'm doing it on my laptop just to test how everything works (for a few days) before I look into getting high level GPU rigs since I'm just starting out. I think I get around 40kh/s mining Litecoins which isn't good but I have my laptop running anyway. When I figure out how everything works I'll switch to a GPU rig.
869  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Vircurex Referral Code on: May 05, 2013, 03:44:17 AM
Vircurex, unlike Mt. Gox where you can only trade BTC, allows you to trade all types of coins, and as a result, if you mine multiple coins like I do, is your number one trade user. When signing up Vircurex asks you for a referral code, and I was confused by what that meant (a simple google searched helped me out), but anyway, if you need a referral code, here's mine:)

140-25314

Others can feel free to post theirs too.
870  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If any one needs a Vircurex.com Referal Code on: May 05, 2013, 03:42:21 AM
I know when I signed up at Vircurex.com I had trouble finding a code.  With a referal code you save 0.05% per trade.  Anyway, If you need one, the code is: 260-146
Also a referal link: https://vircurex.com/register?referral_id=260-146

If you like trading Altcoins, it does offer more options and coins then any other site.

Signed up under you. Thanks for the code!
871  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mining Rig - reasonable? problematic? on: May 05, 2013, 03:02:48 AM

This should run cooler and I can monitor the temp.  I'm not quite ready for the totally open approach.

Running cooler is always a good thing. If you are not quite ready for the totally open approach they maybe try a light open case with still some covering. It is great for cooling, and I was wondering why are you against this?
872  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mining Rig - reasonable? problematic? on: May 05, 2013, 03:01:53 AM
Cooling is the primary concern..I have a pretty crappy computer I pulled out of work (single core sempron at 1.8 Ghz) and shoved a 7950 in there along with a box fan. It is some compaq computer with no fans so it isn't exactly the king of cooling..450 watt PSU powers this thing.

Lol neat:). Does it make enough so that it is worth the power?
873  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Port forwarded, but no incoming connections on: May 05, 2013, 03:01:01 AM
You may want to try and understand what caused the problem so that it doesn't catch you unawares later.
874  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Creating multiple new addresses on: May 05, 2013, 02:18:18 AM
Just wondering, what do you need that many addresses for? Are you planning on selling something and using a different address for everyone or something like that?
875  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: PayPal's Stance on BitCoin Sales on: May 05, 2013, 02:14:52 AM
Paypal has always had that stance on exchanging currencies as long back as I can remember so I don't see it as anything new. Still, its interesting that they take such a harsh stance on things like that, I personally don't think its a good thing for them to do, but they still do it.
876  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where are my coins? on: May 05, 2013, 02:12:31 AM
You need to try pool mining. Google pools for the coin your trying to mine and then join one and use it. You will see the coins in your account for that pool and you can withdraw them to your wallet.
877  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: k everyone. time to buy. on: May 05, 2013, 01:48:31 AM
450 by the end of the year is too high I think, however I don't have any funds right now so owell:) At 450 by the end of the year unless difficulty goes up 4x, GPU could be profitable:) how many have you bought?
878  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How many alts. are created every week..? on: May 05, 2013, 01:47:08 AM
There are a ridiculous amount of currencies out there but I'm assuming no figure on how many are created every week. I would guess that most die and fail after a few months/weeks.
879  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Just bought an Amazon gift card to trade for BTC. This is stupid. on: May 04, 2013, 10:50:38 PM
Have you tried the various legit markets?
Lol.

+1 Most helpful reply ever  Tongue

Coinbase & Mt. Gox are the best so far which I have found. Contact them & try and ask them why they are not accepting you.
