861  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarket.io | New, self-moderated support and news thread. on: March 27, 2014, 11:13:18 AM
I heard about this incident on btc-e trollbox and came to have a look.

On the homepage it now has this message which is a good sign.

Please do not deposit any kind of coins.

Please cancel all orders and request a withdrawal.

CoinMarket.io will be shut down when the problems are solved.

With regards to exchanges and I have been involved in a couple, (even investigated doing my own) security is a big concern. There is 2 coins hackers and scammers are concerned with
and that is bitcoins and litecoins. Don't listen to the noise regarding alt coins. Every exchange that has been "hacked" have given back alt coins. This is includes freshmarket.io, openex etc and everytime
the hacker is demanding ransom in order to have btc/ltc returned which does not make any sense at all.

With the Poloniex hack where 12.3 btc was stolen it only affected the btc that was in the system at that time. IE Lets says I had btc on poloniex before the hack then I would be affected, however btc deposited after the hack was not affected.

What remains a mystery is the plan for the bitcoins that were deposited after the hack like others are starting to query. Coinmarket has made it clear that they are involved in negotiations for btc
that was deposited during and before the exploit.

So possible reasons why btc deposited after the hack haven't been returned?

1. They plan on using all btc to lessen the damage to the rest of the people that had btc stolen. So everyone gets a smaller amount back even if you deposit btc now.
2. They are going to return all btc back once the negotiations for making up the lost btc has been concluded.
3. You will never get your btc back.

Does anyone know how much bitcoins have been stolen?

This is a really interesting scenario playing out here and definitely will come back to read updates. Lets hope this story ends well for everyone and that the bitcoins are returned.

What is your personal thoughts on this matter since you experience with exchanges?

Well you have to look at the facts and the facts point to the exchange being a scam to me, a scam to steal bitcoins. Below are my reasons:

1. Taken way way way too long to sort out with no information about the incident until now.
2. Only when Kenneth's identity was exposed was some action taking place, when Kenneth was no longer able to take the pressure on his own he pointed out the other person involved.
3. Since this person Kiur has been exposed a lot more action has taken place in the last couple days then in the last month.
4. The Alt coins were always there to give back, why only now?
5. Bitcoins deposited after the hack/scam took place have not been given back to the traders, exchange owner keeps dodging this question.

I think your bitcoins are gone personally and I am 99% sure I won't be proven wrong which is unfortunate for everyone here.

Honestly if we don't get a valid explanation to point 5 above then I think it's time to take this problem to the media.
862  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarket.io | New, self-moderated support and news thread. on: March 26, 2014, 08:20:22 PM
This is great news, but for the life of me I can't understand why you guys didn't deal with the bitcoin situation first? It would of cleared up a lot of the complaints.
We have announced (on page ~146 or near it) that there may be multiple ways to get additional BTC from other sources - to fund stuck BTC withdrawals.
The negotiations for that are still ongoing. Meanwhile, we are going to process as many altcoin withdrawals as requested. This is not the end of the story.

People who throw accusations at us have zero proof. Its simple to come up with theories.
CoinMarket.io can provide any kind of proof of innocence that you guys want.
You should redirect your energy towards finding the real thieves - we can definitely help with that.

We have reasons to believe that the main person behind the exploits has registered his first account with this email: dima1236@mail.ru
There is some rather intresting data on him on google and he may be associated with 0daycoins.
He tried to blackmail us and claimed hacking 0daycoins and "several other exchanges" - but that may not be the case.
Another user who was definitely in on the scam used an username of summergaoteng and this email: 97046128@qq.com

Please ignore all bullshit that is posted by users not named coinmarket.io - exactly.
These are just some pathetic people trying to escalate our problems.

So I take it the btc deposited after the trades stopped around 26th Feb will be returned to those people and the rest will hopefully get there btc back after the negotiations have taken place?

Yeah any deposits made in March would not be affected obviously. That will be a small amount though compared to the btc that would of been on the exchange already.
Those people are lucky they didn't deposit before the 24th Feb

Coinmarket I take it All bitcoin deposits made after 1st March will get there bitcoins back now?

I would also like to hear the real answer to this question. Lets be honest everyone in the back of their minds has been wondering about the bitcoins. Even the pretender knows this and that's why he is trying
to get a reaction from us.

Thanks coinmarket.io for returning some of the alts, but I have to admit bitcoin desposits after trade was stopped should also be returned as part of the altcoin batch, this will raise suspicion for me and I am sure a lot of others.
863  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICN] iCoin - Fast. Simple. Secure. Now on Coinpayments --> Android Wallet on: March 26, 2014, 03:05:20 PM
I hope you will still have a plain .zip file for download for those who don't want to run the installer.

Out of curiosity, whats the matter with the installer?

Trojans can be wrapped in a exe, I have checked it out and no problems.

So far everything about iCoin has been done without issues and the premine up until now is being used to benefit the coin from what I can see.

864  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarket.io | New, self-moderated support and news thread. on: March 26, 2014, 03:00:35 PM
holy crap my noble also went through  Huh 5x 1million noble received.
only waiting for 0.998 btc.

Yeah that is the problem, imo bitcoins should of been done first.

They have put the ZIP version on the ANN.
866  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarket.io | New, self-moderated support and news thread. on: March 26, 2014, 02:49:54 PM
CoinMarket.io ‏@CoinMarketio  9 min
All pending (not confirmed) LEAF, USDE & NOBL requests processed. PENG is next. A full report & more good news will be posted on the thread.

Holy shit they're actually doing it, my stuck NOBL withdrawal just went through!

Why not the bitcoins? Smiley

That's the real test here.
867  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICN] iCoin - IPO for Mintpal votes, N-Scrypt Testing Underway on: March 26, 2014, 08:03:44 AM
We have a big announcement to make, Captainhook and the dev team is busy testing N-Scrypt change which will make iCoin more ASIC resistant. Smiley

The IPO for Mintpal vote has been increased to 100 000 iCoin.

We have made a general annoucement for this.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=530655

I would like to make a suggestion, don't implement N-Scrypt until we see the impact ASICs will have. The one advantage ASICs will give to a currency is a more secure network and also people buying ASIC's generally have a lot of money to invest compared to your GPU miners.

I see this as a window of opportunity to get iCoins name out there before they release these beasts onto the market. In many ways this could have a positive impact on the price but it will only
be a few currencies that will benefit from price inflation and I am sure LTC will be one of them.

I obviously believe iCoin price is far too low currently as I have worked out the figures, the block reward halving might help later this but having N-Scrypt as a backup is going to instill confidence
in the community.

868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarket.io | New, self-moderated support and news thread. on: March 25, 2014, 02:20:45 PM
What a scam exchange  Roll Eyes whoever is responsible should get locked up for this shit

Please review Viperbass post above

Well, here is what you want...

Real name: Kiur Köster
Phone number: +372 5598 1119
Skype name: error.420
IRC name (for what its worth) on Freenet: Inception

I dont have his address, but he Lives in Jarvamë-area in Tallinn city, country Estonia.
He also often uses the nickname/username "thekiur". I dont have any e-mail address of him, most of our communication has been through skype or phone.

His picture is here , most like hes much older now.

http://www.etelaranta.com/our-team/

The lack of response from the community on this new information shows we are fucked. Being from Estonia he could rape about 10 woman in the middle of the street and still get away with it.
869  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarket.io | New, self-moderated support and news thread. on: March 24, 2014, 05:33:59 PM
We are testing the new code and are going to process stuck withdrawals tonight. We will post a list of processed withdrawals when it happens.
Before that, all stuck deposits will be credited. We are very sorry that this has taken too much time.

PS: we are trying to get IP address information from CloudFlare, regarding the users who exploited us.

Thanks , please can the bitcoins be dealt with first and then the alt coins.

This! please don't fuck around in giving tiny amounts of alt coins back, we want our BTC back!!!!
870  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICN] iCoin - Fast. Simple. Secure. Now on Coinpayments --> Android Wallet on: March 24, 2014, 05:29:46 PM
Hey All,

Just to let you know 2 people have taken the IPO so far for Mintpal, thanks so much.

So still looking for 3 more people to put in 0.075 btc for 5000 iCoin, you can send proof to me or TeamICoin along with your iCoin address

In other news I know the details of the real owner of Coinmarket.io now, He is from Estonia and we believe he should be returning our btc by tonight.

Please let me know if your iCoin or BTC has not been returned.

Viperbass I am very happy to hear this, I see you have been actively involved in trying to get to the bottom of this mess. Respect!

I am willing to put .75 btc towards the mintpal votes if I get my btc back from coinmarket, so if you can get 50k iCoin I will gladly put .75 btc towards the mintpal vote.

This is btc I considered gone, the rest I will use to buy up on cryptorush and poloniex. Smiley
871  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarket.io | New, self-moderated support and news thread. on: March 23, 2014, 05:51:36 AM

The only question remains if Kenneth is the scammer, if I was a betting man I would say he is def involved.
872  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][2 Exchanges Added] iCoin - The coin of the future, available today on: March 23, 2014, 05:35:42 AM
Interesting post about scam coins recently.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=444549.20

I have asked a few people in the crypto circles to analyse ICOIN and after reading through these 42 pages they are concerned about the ICOIN developer.

A lot of these devs get people to work hard for their coins only to dump it when it goes onto the major exchanges.

Should this developer turn out to be a scammer I have got a team ready to create a brand new ICOIN from scratch and will be willing to replace your current ICOINs
if you have proof. The name is top class, the block specifications are brilliant, so we will keep most of it the same.

Viperbass and the rest of the ICOIN team will be invited to join us excluding the developers.

Get away BS!

Viperbass himself has clearly stated in this ANN that he does not know who the developer is. With us we will provide all these details to the community, we having nothing to hide.

I am also willing to support this coin by creating a Android wallet and offering help to the current dev team if they turn out to be legitimate.

I would just like to remind everyone if captainhook dies tomorrow in a car accident I have already organised the exact same specifications for iCoin.

I have a lot of iCoin as I am sure many of you do too and trust me when I say the iCoin name will live on. Except it would be a new coin on a new block chain and we will swop your old iCoins for new iCoins, the premine will also be a lot smaller then the current premine. For amounts over 100 000 we will verify manually as we wouldn't want Captainhook raising from the dead and swoping the 3 million premine out.

I am just mentioning the above so you know I have a plan in place for iCoin no matter what happens, the current iCoin team excluding Captainhook will still be used in the event he dies.

Once the iCoin premine is under 200 000 left to spend then it doesn't matter what Captainhook does , iCoins destiny wont be in his hands anymore.

Right now I trust everything is going according to plan and the iCoin team has been honest. imo

I will start doing Mintpal votes today.
873  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarket.io | New, self-moderated support and news thread. on: March 22, 2014, 11:40:05 AM
Alright so we at least have confirmation the exchange is a scam.

Now it's whether or not Kenneth is the scammer, did anyone get the details of the registered owners for CryptoEX.cc before it was changed, it was basically a replica site of coinmarket except they made a mistake of adding the trollbox, people weren't able to withdraw straight away and scam was written all over the trollbox which is why it was shut down quickly.

Right now if you have to tweet to Coinmarket being a scam the site won't be up much longer.

874  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarket.io | New, self-moderated support and news thread. on: March 21, 2014, 12:14:53 PM
To the users of CoinMarket.

I got in touch with the owner of CM through IRC last year on a completely different subject than CM.
The owner (a developer from Estonia) contacted me and he had this idea to develop a new altcoin exchange service. And on this subject I was asked if I wanted to help provide a server and networking platform for him to develop on. I agreed to this, as the
project sounded exciting and challenging, and I had the capacity to deliver this platform. This included registration of the domain name and setup of DDOS protection (Cloudflare).

My background is pure technical server, networking and infrastructure, no coding knowledge or experience what so ever, so it would be impossible for me to develop something like CM. This also means that I have no knowledge of the site, and I cannot in any capacity be helpfull with anything related to the content of CM.

The CM website is still running on my servers, and they will be until March 31, 2014, 23:59 GMT+1. The owner is well aware of this, and I have given him plenty of time to resolve the issues his users are experiencing. The above mentioned date is final. The owner will still have access to the server data after this date.

The owner is a developer from Estonia. I dont want to publish his name to the public, but if the CM users would elect one person to communicate with me, I will be open to talk about the actual owner with this person.

I want the person representing the users to PM me, and a couple of other persons PM me the username of that representative to vouch for him/her. Please dont spam me with other PMs. I will be checking these messages about once per day, so please be aware that it might be some time before I answer. I'm also going away for the weekend, so dont expect any replies until sunday.

I must admit that getting involved with this project might be one of the worst decissions in my life. My biggest mistake in all this was of course registering the domain name for this person. Again, I entered this project in a purely technical capacity. All accounts related to CM is transferred to the actual owner, and I will not have any further contact with this person.

This has been extremely though on myself and my family. We dont feel safe, we are getting threats and accusations against us that is false. This is extremely stressfull, and has affected our possibilty to function in our daily lives. The last days I spent talking with lawyer and the police about my situation, and getting some advice on how to get out of this. My only priority now is to get my life back to normal, and to make sure myself and my family again feels safe.

Im asking and begging that the CM users be understanding of my situation, please dont call or msg me outside this forum. Also, I'm not following the thread and PM will be my only point of contact. Again, please dont spam me with messages. I primarily want to get in touch with a representative for the CM users.

My hope is that this statement will clear up some unanswered questions, and give the users a possibilty to take any outstanding issues with the owner themselves.

I will be away this weekend, so dont expect any replies from me until sunday.

I thank you for understanding,
Best regards,
Kenneth

It's about time Kenneth, this guy is screwing up your life big time. We just need to make sure the name you give to the community is legit, unfortunately being young as you are you probably wouldn't of known to never trust a Estonian, they are the 2nd biggest scammers on the internet after Nigerians and god help us all when Nigerians enter the crypto market.

http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/02/01/net-us-fraud-internet-idUSBRE9101CB20130201

We are pretty fucked to say the least, the only honest Estonian I have met is a dead one, so yes we not getting our coins back. Time to move on and goodluck to those trying to catch this guy in Estonia, the police service is also fucking terrible.
875  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarket.io | New, self-moderated support and news thread. on: March 20, 2014, 05:17:02 PM
Alright I am going to put my cock on a block here and say this is unacceptable from coinmarket.io , enough is enough!!!

All we want is a plan of action from there point. Even if it means taking 10% off everyones btc to cover the lost bitcoins, I think everyone could agree to this even if they
are scamming us.

If I treated my customers this way my company would of closed down long time ago, if we treated the iCoin community like this I wouldn't expect iCoin to have a community at all.

Whatever coinmarkets plan is they need to let us know now and we can all move on, the silence on the matter is terrible and leaves a lot of open speculation from the crypto community.

I am giving coinmarket.io until Sunday to reveal a plan to the community and action it immediately thereafter. I am a patient person by nature and my patience has now worn out.

I have enough proof that these matters should of been resolved a lot quicker then it currently has.

UNACCEPTABLE

+1 to this!!!!
876  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICN] iCoin - Fast. Simple. Secure. Now on Coinpayments --> Android Wallet on: March 20, 2014, 09:18:30 AM
I went to sleep thinking, yes! I'll buy some more at 500 tomorrow, woke up and its now at 3000, damn sleep!!!!! DAMN SLEEP!!!!

Happy Thursday folks Smiley

If you want to make quick in and out, best price is on poloniex atm. I am just too paranoid about exchanges to risk it.

We should do some trade on mintpal so we can get iCoin on this exchange, all it takes is 1 trade and if you go btc/ltc trade that is a safe trade to enable the voting.

877  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarket.io | New, self-moderated support and news thread. on: March 20, 2014, 06:09:27 AM
Just in case you guys are wondering if this is a scam exchange, let me introduce you to the freshmarket.io scam claiming to be a hack.

This is where a portion of LTC was "stolen" around 40% as this was a LTC exchange also only interested in new alt coins, we going to hear a similar sad story with coinmarket
about how much btc those hackers stole from the exchange ...awwww so sad it breaks my heart, let all as a community give % of our btc to help this poor exchange
administrator, awwww shame...

Thanks for sharing, a classic scam. Besides all the vapid lip service, Coinmarket is now looking even more like fraud.

The list of 2500 transactions provided (which by no means includes all BTC deposits or even withdrawals) totals over 700 BTC.
We can assume coinmarket.io  managed BTC into the thousands, if not tens of thousands.

Think about it... the opportunity to walk away with millions in equivalent fiat with complete anonymity.
Totally life changing money.

I am just taken back at how many naive individuals there are expecting a miracle return of there btc excluding the obvious scam users accounts claiming they on the list.
878  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICN] iCoin - Fast. Simple. Secure. Now on Coinpayments --> Android Wallet on: March 20, 2014, 05:59:59 AM
The first problem to tackle is the low trading volume; icoin needs to be on an exchange where you don't have to place an order and wait 24 hours to see if it went through (Mintpal or Cryptsy?).

Once this is in place, mining capacity has to be raised. Icoin is becoming very poorly distributed (15 kH/s will grab you 25% of all coins produced daily atm). Poor distribution and a large premine scare away would be investors as the coin is highly susceptible to large dumps.

Once mining capacity has increased you will see a price increase as icoin becomes more difficult to acquire.

Mintpal would be a great option for iCoin, I would trade on that exchange.

Speaking of Premine, I see Captainhook has not logged into his account since the 10th March, is he still alive?

Also, i have to say, that site now is still in BETA, so use it on your own risk.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=449796.0

At least freshmarket.io returned most the alt coins within 5 days, they only cared about the LTC and tried to get 10 BTC claiming the hackers wanted that in order to get the funds returned.lol

Welcome to the world of scumbaggery at it's finest with coinmarket.io being the latest and greatest scam, a tribute to the human attribute of greed.

880  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICN] iCoin - Fast. Simple. Secure. Now on Coinpayments --> Android Wallet on: March 20, 2014, 05:13:27 AM
Was reading theme about FlutterCoin:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=509499.0

And it's very interesting:
1. FlutterCoin started at 10th march, iCoin started at 10th january.
2. FlutterCoin Hashrate is 11000 MH/s, iCoin is 50 MH/s.
3. FlutterCoin is already on good exchanges like MintPal, BTer. iCoin is on CrytpoRush and some not so good exchanges.
4. FlutterCoin is not so good name. iCoin is the best name for cryptocurrency.
5. FlutterCoin has no promotion, not too much Facebook fans, 64 followers on Twitter, 11 likes on Facebook. iCoin has wide promotion, 490 likes on Facebook, 25000 followers on Twitter.
6. FlutterCoin grows in price from 400 satoshi to 700 satoshi, iCoin drops in price from 3000 satoshi to 400 satoshi

My conclusion:
Promotion and good name means nothing it there's no innovation

I wanted to say this not because I don't like iCoin.

I know, it's hard to explain this feeling, when you invest in coin just because you believe in team and in name.

But nothing happens, so you lose money... And sitting looking for other promising coins.

You guys, BigRidg, ViperBass... you know that this cryptocurrency convention can make difference to iCoin, i wish you good luck. Maybe, you will make iCoin much better than it's now.

Besides all coins being down, CON for example...https://poloniex.com/exchange/btc_con

People have underestimated the damage from coinmarket.io, I for one have been turned off buying iCoin because of it and still have btc stuck on that exchange. I am sure I am not the only one.
Also freshmarket.io which I believe is the same scammers which no one has mentioned on the coinmarket.io thread yet but I will bring it to there attention now also had the most ltc trade
volume for iCoin.

If you look at all the coins on coinmarket.io and see how they trading on other exchanges it does not look good... coinmarket looked great and most of your buyers probably have stuck coin
on that system still.
