861  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which Super Cheap Coin is best to invest in? on: May 22, 2016, 04:33:15 PM
Out of the following, which one has the most potential to increase in value and popularity:

BUN - BunnyCoin

CAGE - CageCoin

GCN - GCoin

HTML5 - HTMLCoin

NYC - NewYorkCoin

PAC - PacCoin

Also, if anyone has an informed view on any other super cheap Coins that look to do very well, please by all means suggest😊

What you really want are coins with resilience and proven longevity that the market has unfairly punished.

By using this strategy you will maximize your risk/reward ratio and identify the hidden gems with long-term potential. Cheesy

862  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Altcoin to invest in for 2016 and WHY on: May 21, 2016, 10:18:04 PM
The Lindy effect seems to be proving true as it relates to altcoin longevity. Coins that are capable of weathering the storm year-after-year are resilient and durable.

Keep your eye on coins like Litecoin, Dogecoin, Goldcoin, and Peercoin. This is the generation that has stood the test of time.
863  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Bitcoin be surpassed by Ethereum??? on: May 21, 2016, 07:03:52 PM
I have bought some Ethereum a while back ago and already doubled my investment. Ethereum price has been growing a lot and there's already a lot of people saying that Ethereum will be the next momentum currency.

What do you guys think? Should I hold some more?

We're going to see many currencies make ETH-like moves during the decade. I think the best investment opportunities will come from coins outside the scope of your question.

If we look at the bitcoin block explorer, we can see the blockchain is severely overloaded. If this level of incompetency continues within the core development, I think there will be many coins surpassing it in the near future including Ethereum.

*2016 has a great story too ... we caught BigVern and recovered our coins**

On May 19th, the Cryptsy receivership began auditing and moving the surviving altcoins on the exchange.

It does appear these coins will eventually be returned to their rightful owners. Cheesy
I also read that on Cbx thread who are the rightful owners of those altcoins can it be returned to the dev of those coins especially those coins that are premine and POS coin it's easy to return the coin if the one that's going to manage are the devs of those coins..

The coins won't be returned to the devs. They belong to former Cryptsy customers, and when returned, they will be returned to those users.

868  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could the bitcoin crisis be one of master plans of Satoshi? on: May 21, 2016, 02:29:12 AM
Could it be that satoshi had envisioned this crisis long before? or did he design it in such a way that this crisis ensures bitcoin does not go mainstream and bitcoin remains a low player, very much suitable for criminal activities alone?

No. He just never imagined that intelligent development would come screeching to a halt the moment he left. Cheesy

869  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How safe is to storage private keys in the cloud? on: May 21, 2016, 02:24:49 AM
Can someone know where a private key belongs once a person have found it?

Let's say a private key copy is stored in the cloud and is found for a bad person; is it possible for that person to know where to use that private key?

Just rename the file something like family_pics_2009.zip and it will be totally safe.  Cheesy
870  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would you like to buy with Bitcoin that you can not? on: May 21, 2016, 02:20:27 AM
Is there something you'd really like to be able to buy with Bitcoin, but you just can't, yet?

I don't think there is anything that you can't buy with Bitcoin.
871  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Core have been derelict in their duties. on: May 21, 2016, 02:14:02 AM
Core have been derelict in their duties by showing little foresight around the looming full block situation.

Perhaps the understatement of the century! Cheesy

At altcoin developer with that amount of foresight would be belly up in a matter of days.
872  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to know legit altcoin that offer legit ICO? on: May 20, 2016, 04:02:33 AM
I just had a chat with my friend who is very much into altcoin trading and told me about this ICO being
offered by newly launched altcoin..

Some of these are scam coin who just want to make easy money..

But some of these are legit ..

How would you know if the altcoin that's offering Ico is indeed legit?

The true value of a cryptocurrency is in its people, not its tech. The only way to properly evaluate a coin, is to properly evaluate its people.

873  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can more transaction reduce halving time? on: May 20, 2016, 03:21:20 AM
The next bitcoin halving is on 11 Jul 2016
03:05:22, If volume of bitcoin transaction suddenly increases, will it bring halving much before 11 Jul 2016?Is more bitcoin transactions mean more block creation?
There will be no more transaction, coz blocks are full... i must wait around 4 hours to first confirmation of my transaction with high fee included.
Thats pretty bad for payment network, blocksize should be 2MB by now.

Satoshi would have probably increased blocksize in 2011 (without asking) if he hadn't vanished.

Blocksize reduction to 1MB was only temporary, never meant to be a consensus rule.  Cheesy

Thank you Chris for writing these wonderful books!

I really enjoyed my Dogecoin book (before the chainsaw incident) and am really looking forward to the GoldCoin book. If there are any Goldcoin users reading this post, you can earn 2,5000 GLD by writing a brief statement about your experiences.

Just follow this link to make your statement: https://www.gldtalk.org/index.php?topic=3532.msg16310#msg16310

875  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin already using too much power by 2020? on: May 17, 2016, 05:49:46 PM
Proof of Work (Pow) is not a sustainable reward system. It would be impossible for bitcoin to reach any sort of mainstream adoption with this severely flawed energy-gobbling incentivizing scheme.

If we look at nature, rainfall is not rewarded for nourishing plants. The sun is not rewarded for its life giving rays. I think the ultimate mining system will be one that's sustainable and more closely models nature.

876  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin IS basically DESTROYED on: May 17, 2016, 05:21:50 PM
Well, I'm pretty sure that miners (even with subsidized electricity) are selling over 90% of what they mine just to make expenses.  And it's not terribly unlikely that some are selling 100%.

Make no mistake, mining is mostly about making spendable money.  And the way to make bitcoins spendable in the wider economy, is to trade them for fiat.

Proof of Work (Pow) is not a sustainable reward system for maintaining a cryptographic transaction system. It would be impossible for bitcoin to reach any sort of mainstream adoption with this severely flawed energy-gobbling incentivizing scheme.

If we look at nature, rainfall is not rewarded for nourishing plants. The sun is not rewarded for its life giving rays. I think the sustainable mining system will be one that more closely models nature.

Unfortunately, a solution is nowhere in sight. This is evidenced by a consensus model that has resulted in a maximum block size issue which is crippling the network. The community itself is destroying bitcoin with its continued support for the current fork.

Fortunately, a second generation of cryptocurrencies is being born that is learning from these failures and adapting.

877  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin is the best future currency? on: May 17, 2016, 02:30:29 PM
The best reasons are:
No physical currency involve!

Most likely bitcoin will not be the future of currency, but Satoshi will forever remain the creator that planted the seeds.

The protocol is now spawning into a wide array of diversified alternatives, and it will be this 'currency class' that captures the future.

878  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are there communist cryptocurrencies? on: May 17, 2016, 02:16:59 PM
Interesting question. But I'm not sure if an inanimate protocol or software application can have a political ideology.

879  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We need more proof-of-burn altcoins on: May 17, 2016, 01:55:03 PM
Bitcoin is not decentralized, it's controlled by three gigantic Chinese mining farms. All of them can be shut down in one hour by their government if Bitcoin gets big. But it won't be big, it is no longer the idea it used to be - one CPU = one vote. Time to move on.

Actually, bitcoin is controlled by a handful of core developers (aka economic majority) not Chinese miners.

The core devs can 'checkpoint' the entire country at anytime with the release of a 'maintenance patch'. hehe Cheesy
880  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Theymos: “Bitcoins Belonging to Satoshi Should Be Destroyed” on: May 17, 2016, 12:18:55 PM
Next thing you know they'll start fiddling with the 21 million cap and making transactions reversible. Shocked
