Those are some cool looking Cup/Cap logos.  I could get behind the Cappuccino movement.

Yes, jump on the bandwagon!

lol

I'll send you a free cup if you support me for president... Even though I didn't think of the idea. Tongue

Screw the tea-party, this is a CAP-Party!
882  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Bottlecaps v1.5.2 Just Released Checkpoint Node New Wallet Design! Please Update on: November 10, 2013, 06:43:41 AM
Again, On this computer I am limited... This is just CAP as the logo itself... Just the letter silhouette.

Honestly, I do 3D art for money... lol. You wouldn't know it by these scratch-mouse drawings. I need my tablet and my real art programs running.

Not sure it would look good pulled into a circle.

The coffee is just a logo, like "feather" and "Java", and "Apple"... it is a branding. Few coin names have anything to do with what they are. Thus the plural, "Cappuccinos", not just "Cappuccino"... Implying it is its own thing. Cap for short, or caps...

Once the website is up... after a name-change is determined, if it is determined... Everything will be explained in full. Clearly. Wink

Honestly, if you just called it a digital-check... no-one would invest. They would just think it is a thing, like a transfer-medium. (Well, that is all a coin actually is. But with trades. But the coin itself is just a medium, not a trader itself. Nor is it a company. But it does have a use for a branding.)

With all the "good" names taken, and being stereotypical... We have no choice but to reach out of the box, or make it complex and unrememberable.

Bottlecaps is memorable, but now I have others who don't trade, who I just asked randomly, say it sounds cheap. They all liked Cappuccinos as a name. (But they also liked calling them caps too.)

Oh... lol.. I was like... what?

This is what I was thinking for a logo... (Brand logo) Sorry it is on a cheap paint program. My other stuff is on the other OS.

The logo's both say CAP in the logo, as the cup...

This would have come out better with my vector art program. Tongue But online paint was all I had, and a ball-mouse to draw freehand. It was the concept I was going for. Enough of a logo to disappear as a true cup, and still be "known"... EG, drawing it as the coffee-cup without the breaks that make the logo, for an icon or just a logo itself.

Slogans...

Cappucchinos: (Coffee, Beans, Caps, Grounds)
- "Get your fill of caps, stimulate the economy."
- "Top off your caps today, one cap is never enough."
- "Fast, hot, and easy to hold."
- "The only bean you mine."
- "Best way to wake someone up, is to give them some caps."

lol... lego deathstar...

I think you need a new image host... YOU might see your images, we see ads for lego deathstars...

Though, your wording of what the logo's look like are visual enough to get the idea. I have a few thoughts in my head also, but all my art programs are on my other disk partition.

Yea, starbucks and dunkin-doughnuts would be a far-stretch... but there are a lot of smaller coffee-shops that want something like a starbucks card, or a dunkin-doughnuts card, that is semi-universal. (EG, not just used at the small mom-n-pop-shop.)

I found some decent flavored coffee that can be purchased for about $6.50/lb, which is fresh-bean. Both mild-roast and deep-roast. On the upper end, there were a few that were freaking awesome, but they cost about $12-16/lb. The best bean I ever had cost almost $85/lb. But like I said... I could sell it at a loss, and still make money with CAP. Just because once it starts selling, those CAP's will be purchased and swiped-up from the exchange, or never listed on the exchange, since they will be used to buy things. Thus, the sell value will rise, making the ones I sold at a loss for, not be a loss now. (Unlike just buying coins, which has less of an impact.)
885  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Bottlecaps v1.5.2 Just Released Checkpoint Node New Wallet Design! Please Update on: November 09, 2013, 07:50:14 AM
Oh, I can also mint some "Cap coins"... actual coins, like the BTC ones, as collector promotion tokens. (Not as digital wallets.)

I would not mint them myself, obviously... (Lol, mint, coffee.) However, I know a few good minters who once made all my pachislo machine tokens for a great deal.

Hell, even a coffee-cup, which they would see every day/morning... or in my case... all day long. Would be a good marketing stretch for the coins promotion.
886  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Bottlecaps v1.5.2 Just Released Checkpoint Node New Wallet Design! Please Update on: November 09, 2013, 06:02:54 AM
LMAO, I must not have had enough coffee this morning.  It took my until now to notice the Cap in Cappuccino.

See... Everyone needs CAPpuccinos... It's a Mafia thing!
Cappucchinos
Capechos
Capcioes
Capinos
Caps

I still find that name to be the most stimulating... Potential. (Coffee is a multi-billion dollar market. Why not slip a little market-aid into it.)

Sell a $10 Cap-n-go card, for drive-by payments...
Selling Mixed-blends of "single-cup" brews...
Selling Life-brews, for regular drinkers... (Monthly/weekly delivery of "daily-use" coffee grounds, ground fresh. Online ordering/gifting.)

This will never be BTC... No matter what it is called. But it can be multi-purpose. (Just as a coffee-house is often multi-purpose. "Dunkin-Doughnuts, Starbucks, Barns-n-Noble coffee-shops... The list goes on and on. It will not take me much effort to get them to accept more money/income... On a potential rising value coin. You already know the high of the largest holders. It will be there again.)

We have to slip into the back door, not bust through the front doors, without any armor.

I have $2000 up for stake... What are you{everyone holding} giving? (That is a polite question, not a rash reply.)

BTW, I spend as much on coffee as I do on cigs... I live off the stuff.

Besides, TP coin isn't as appealing, but it is a never-ending market... Tongue

UPDATE: I got the Cryptsy and MtGox API up and running. Now I just have to have it store and convert the value from the desired USD value of the selling items. Then I will start throwing-up some kind of page to link everything together. I will also have some ad-space, that you can list ads or whatever, for CAPs.
887  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Bottlecaps v1.5.2 Just Released Checkpoint Node New Wallet Design! Please Update on: November 09, 2013, 04:15:53 AM
I like just CAP... (Not capcoins or capcoin as much... Because it looks like capricorn and I am sure google will show capricorn on auto-type and "suggest" correction searches.)

I still like Crowns or Cappuccinos... I believe coins minted back in the day were often called crowns, as they would have the kings-royal symbol stamped into the gold coins themselves, ones that matched a signet-ring. (English and British coins I believe.)

Yea, I am not sure I would exactly call what is happening a pump... as much as a "restoring to value"... There are less people selling themselves short. Not to mention, diff just rose again, so more people are coming back to mine it again. Mining at 851% of BTC value is not dead, by a long-shot. Since the best coins are only 1100% over BTC value, to mine. SXC (Sexcoin) was essentially dead, and now it is rising up above bottlecaps.

I am still up for buying Coffee, in exchange for bottlecaps... also, steam-game cards, paypal cards, ebay cards, amazon cards, or anything else REAL, for your coins. Just PM me with your wish, and I will work out a price. At these low values, I will sell at a loss to the value in dollars, to give you the items for equal value of cash. (Unlike others who charge $25 cash for $20 worth of coins or goods.)

Going to setup my cryptsy API for the website to get some live prices setup.

More random names...
- Community Coin
- Common Coin
- Com Coin
- 7970 Coin
- Hash Coin
- Not a coin
- Blue Coin
- Share Coin
- Trade Coin
- Dot Coin
- My Coin
- eCoin (Sort-of still like that sound... I think that was suggested already.)
- Luminites
- Simple Coin
- Smart coin
- Plunders
- Pents

If you can use it to buy something common, or simple, that everyone uses... it will get used. Using it for explicit things, sold by shady people, or price-rape shops, will only degrade the coin. No point in using coins if it costs you more than buying it with cash, with tax added, when they charge you 110% to 150% more than the value of cash.
888  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Bottlecaps v1.5.2 Just Released Checkpoint Node New Wallet Design! Please Update on: November 08, 2013, 09:08:54 PM
I'm still on the no side to name change but Cyberdymes and Cappuccinos are both great names if it comes to that.

Ouch, I finally just saw, first hand, the power of a name... I just got mocked-out of a trade chat, for offering to buy CAP coins, which I just had to explain was bottlecaps... But I guess there is something there to the name, that seems to urk people or degrade the seriousness of the coin.

Yet they openly trade "CopperLark" and "MinCoin" and "DevCoins"... (I didn't realize devcoins still existed. lol. Though I saw them listed.)

Well, their loss, I just offered them $2 on the $1 for any CAP they wanted to pick-up or sell... I'll wait to see if anyone else likes the idea of Cappuccino's as a name, before I start pushing the coin again. I don't want them remembering a name that isn't going to exist in the future, if it does get changed... But the existing name now, doesn't seem to have much actual branding except to those holding the coin. (Unfortunately, those holding are not making themselves money or adding any actual value, they just want it done for them, it seems. That is not towards any of us actually doing work. We can make the reward all our own, by doing this off-exchange. But doing it on exchange will work for all.)

Ok, headed out the door now, back in a few hours...
889  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Bottlecaps v1.5.2 Just Released Checkpoint Node New Wallet Design! Please Update on: November 08, 2013, 08:27:45 PM
I like cappuccino... A big swirled cup of joe/java/coffee as the logo... seems real "euro modern", like two-bucks.. um.. I mean star-bucks...

Also sounds kind-of fun... (I like the imagery of espresso too... tiny glass of HELL YEA!)

But I think Cappuccino has a more unique unused potential to the name, like bottlecaps was intended to be.

Ok, I am awake now, but I have to go to work for a few hours... Retirement isn't all it is cracked-up to be.

I will get started on a generic site, and some ghetto variations, tonight... both as Bottlecaps and Cappuccino, since I like that name the more I say it. It's easier to swallow than bottlecaps too. I'll sell Coffee-grounds for Cap coins, to promote it, at a loss to me.

Cappuccino's: The coin that keeps you wide awake, keeps you up at night, is sure to rise with the sun, keeps you warm all winter mining, and is faster to make than Espresso!

Just a side note, CAP's on the rise on cryptsy... Guess everyone stopped looking at BTC enough to see that it was smart to grab them while the value is low, which will drive the price up, making their purchase of low-valued coins a wise investment. I hoped it would stay low for another two weeks, when I get my next paycheck... but hey, time for the devil to rise, I guess!

OK, I am working on a generic website... Just so there is something to show.

For now, I will ignore the name of the coin, and just host the site on one of my existing names...

Any opinions on which name to list the information at?

I own the following...
WamPow.com
Dabify.com
MYeLIST.com
Curbay.com
PlanetEnine.com

If there are no opinions, I will throw it up on www.MYeLIST.com I guess... For now, I must get some sleep.

The fact that you are here, posting, shows you care... (As we all do.)

Wives are so overrated... Trade her like a coin... Cryptsy takes wives... it's the top traded item... The letters are BCH... (Just kidding, I just couldn't resist. I like wives. I buy them drinks all the time!)

Seriously though... If you still have some coins left, and some time to invest... Are you willing to contribute to the coins value, other than offering it to other investors at a great discount?
892  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Bottlecaps v1.5.2 Just Released Checkpoint Node New Wallet Design! Please Update on: November 08, 2013, 07:56:58 AM
What about just "Crown"... or "Crowns" (I like Crowns better... allows the drop of the cheap sounding coin word... implying they are their own thing...)

Not crown coin... and keep "CAP" as the letters...

Like Kings crown, Crown Royale, Crown victoria, Crown a knight, Crown (the top of your head), Cap (Which is also a crown).

Search for crown logo's (Just to get some visuals to go with the name)
https://www.google.com/search?q=crown+logo&safe=off&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&biw=1253&bih=696

Flashback seeing the hallmark crown in that list of images... lol. I worked there for years, at the northern new england warehouse... Nice place to work!

As of now, the community is nearly 100% investors and 0% users.

The only way to use CAP is to trade it for BTC and buy something with the BTC. Which can be completely automated through any exchange with the exchanges API. However, that requires "selling" the CAP at the "selling price", which simply makes it look like its value is falling. (Because you sell at the asking price, as opposed to holding it and setting a bid higher than value.)

However, going the other way... using a dollar-to-cap automation... The price would always appear to rise. Since they would be buying the bid value "sell". Which is the other end of the chart.

As of now, it is only us trading for future investment, and bots trading for differences of bid/ask values. (Bots use small amounts and instantly move purchased coins to the other side with the 20% gain. Thousands of times a day. lol, battling each other for the top spots.)

The price is low, I am willing to take your caps for anything physical... You want steam-dollars, xbox-live passes, prepaid-creditcards, paypal-cards, ebay-cards, video-games... let me know, I'll get them in exchange for CAPs. But please don't just sit back and do nothing, and complain that we (the other investors) are not "making your investment better". It isn't the job of the coin to add value. The coins job is done, it's a coin. A gateway, a method of transferring value. It is YOU/US who has to give it value.

Any more suggestions that others are willing to DO, are welcome. Need a hand, I'll help. But anyone can have an idea. Ideas are cheap and free. Everyone thought about the lightbulb, only a few actually made them.
894  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Bottlecaps v1.5.2 Just Released Checkpoint Node New Wallet Design! Please Update on: November 08, 2013, 07:22:33 AM
The only thing I have to say on that defence, is that searching for bottlecaps alone, will always give you bottlecaps. Same if you just searched for "bit" or "feather" or "mega"... But "bottlecap coins" always returns posts about "bottlecap coins". Just not the best ones.

Once I got something about fallout... but that image is starting to die in the search-world... few are searching for fallout bottlecaps but there are still a lot of people, millions, searching for "bottlecaps".

The lack of services, is the big kicker, as with any coin.

The mega-coin issue isn't that big of an issue, unless you get a fresh wallet and have to download the whole chain. (Which is every new user, and me... since I don't use that coin for anything except harvesting at value with multipool, because he doesn't let us select coins we don't want.)

Still, it would be nice to see a sister download for all wallets, with the last hard-coded matching block-chunk that goes with the wallet. You have to download it anyways. Why burden people with constantly rejecting connections that download super slow. We all have fast download speeds, but upload speeds are a fraction of that on most ISP's. Thus, the many killed connections. (Also ISP's bump uploads, since they don't like people actually sharing upload data. 90% of the uploads are not affected, but that 10% is where the wallets rest, apparently.)
895  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Noirbits TAKEOVER ! Update v2.2.5.0 - fixes sync issue on: November 08, 2013, 07:07:26 AM
The windows wallet doesn't work, from the noirbits website, gives an error and dies... runaway exception blah blah...

Got one working, not sure where I got it from, but the transaction is stuck in purgatory, 0 confirms...

Had a corrupted wallet... how do I fix that?

I need to recreate the original wallet... I have the address and locked-password... how do I "make" a wallet with that. (Or the partially corrupted file)
896  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Bottlecaps v1.5.2 Just Released Checkpoint Node New Wallet Design! Please Update on: November 08, 2013, 06:23:53 AM
I do understand all of that. Tongue I said the offer was good, for me. Tongue

However, I did notice that all the links on the first-post don't actually accept CAP coins... Not sure what the deal is with that? If there is no-where to spend the coins, there is no reason to buy them. Not even for investment, unless they are low like this... but getting 2000 low isn't actually low.

If you remove bottle from the name, just calling them CAP coins or CAP's... that could have more appeal. (Even as an image. Just change it to a baseball-cap and use caps to promote the coin. I am sure I can find a good source of "fit caps", which are the only thing that should be used for promotion. Since the generic caps are crap and ugly-tall.)

The only CAP that won't mess-up your hair... but it may make you go bald! Tongue

Ok, it's not the BEST idea, but it is a step forward I am willing to get my hands dirty on.

As for the web-page... Simple and functional, without clutter and confusion is best. They want to know where to get the wallet, how to use it, where to go if there is trouble, and lists of places to spend the coins, that actually accept the coins. (Unlike the other listings which seem to all have pulled CAP support, or never had it.)

They don't need a coin history, which is irrelevant, to the use of the coin. The coin itself is just a gateway of value distribution like payapl or e-pay, keep it that simple. If they want gritty details, they can get their hands dirty digging in the mud for coin history or past-life coin changes of mining value. (Since I think all points are now gone, right?)
897  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Bottlecaps v1.5.2 Just Released Checkpoint Node New Wallet Design! Please Update on: November 08, 2013, 05:54:57 AM
Yea, I like the look of Mega's GUI... but I have to keep restarting it to keep it working/connected when trying to get the wallet loaded. That was a nightmare doing that.

Mega to me = mega-man (The old kids video-game.)
Bottlecaps to me = Future post-nuke currency from fallout (The other video-game, which was #1 and is familiar to most digital kids and adults.)

However, google thinks bottlecaps are just bottlecaps... at the moment... unless you add "scrypt" to the search, or "btc".

But that can be changed with some HTML on a webpage, which the forums do not provide.

The seriousness of bottlecaps value... (Thus why the game made fun of it, using caps as currency.)
http://www.ebay.com/gds/Collecting-Soda-Pop-Bottle-Caps-/10000000018076248/g.html

Not to mention, when the game came-out, I sold three bags of 1000+ caps on ebay for $15 each. (Though none of the buyers had ever played the game, they just collected caps. lol, they must have been thinking, "OMG collecting caps is cool again, it's in a video-game!")

If the name remains bottlecaps, I have the domain.

Which name? capcoin.com, or capcoins.com, or bottlecap.com, or bottlecaps.com?

Would you be willing to forward the domain-name (point it) at my servers?
899  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Bottlecaps v1.5.2 Just Released Checkpoint Node New Wallet Design! Please Update on: November 08, 2013, 05:36:21 AM
Seriously asking you... Not mocking you...

What about "Bit Coin", "Mega Coin", or "Lite Coin" appeals to you, in the name? You said Bottlecaps sounds cheap... All three of those other names sound cheap. (BTW bottlecaps are a highly valuable and collectable item, like pez-dispensors and baseball-cards. More valuable than gold, if you want to talk about value. $0.00001 cap is sold for $10.00 and by weight, it is more valuable than gold.) Only BTC is on the rise, LTC is mostly a flat-line of low-value increase, and MEC is well... premined by a millionaire who still holds a majority of the premine, the rest he sold-off to take your investment in his pumps. BTC itself like CAP, had nothing to do with the value. It is not the coins job to be valuable, it is your job, as a coin holder, to find value in it. Apparently, you don't have value in it, and are unable to deal with risk, or manage risk. I told you how to cut your losses, but instead, you want to turn it into a loss, not cut losses. (Which are all in your head, because until you sell, they are not a loss.)

If you are willing to sell, I made you an offer, that is reasonable, to me and apparently to the reality of the market you wished to sell-out to. Take it, and the loss is real. Ignore it, and it isn't a loss. Do nothing, and it will surely be a loss.

I'll sell you anything you want, with any low-value coin, and I will continue to buy things with my high-valued coins, because that is how you make money. In two months, this coin did what BTC and LTC and MEC has done, rise and fall. You should be selling your high-value BTC, and buy more CAP. Again, if you don't understand that logic, you shouldn't be investing, and risking investments.
