881  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Nghitumbwa (May 13) on: April 15, 2023, 09:38:20 PM
He needs to secure this win if he really wanted to create his name in this new division, losing a fight to unknown fighter
will put his career in danger. I mean, if he will lose, then interest from big promoters will be lessened or possibly be forgotten.

Unlike if he will win and take this fight in a much easier as how fans expected him,
the chance of bringing him to a contender for a title holder is possible.

We don't know what might happen after this, but it's really important that Casimero will win every single fight that being scheduled for him.

I got your point mate that for Casimero to fight for a championship, he needs to win all his fights before that and the good thing about his promoter right now is not forcing the issue, and seems to me that they are carefully selecting opponents to fight their ward and even though with that scenario, Casimero himself is not complaining since he earns substantial amount enough to have a not so lavish lifestyle.

Nothing has leaked so far as who will be next opponent of Quadro Alas but one thing is sure that it would not be Inoue.

Well, he doesn't have much of a choice because he could've been more comfortable now if his weight weren't an issue in his previous weight class. Anyway, a defeat is the least thing that Casimero and his camp needed because that will surely mean that his career will go down drastically especially after the fact that he was just defeated by a regular boxer who is so unknown that most of the boxers in the industry don't know about him. What he need is a kind of fight that will help him prepare against the champs yet a secure one while he's still in the lower bracket so that the chance of getting a defeat is lesser.

A defeat at this stage of his career could mean the end of his colorful journey in the boxing world, I mean the promoter's interest in him will be gone if he will be defeated by an unknown boxer but that scenario is a very slim possibility though that might happen but i think this time it won't because like I said above, this is just a tune-up or a "keep busy" fight before going for a belt.

On the promoter's side, i think they are milking Casimero as he is one of the most popular boxers in the Philippines at the moment, though this is not a big fight but at least they could profit through sponsorships and VIP tickets.

Bet ko bukas Warriors ML @1.94, masyadong mataas ang experience ng Warriors pagdating sa ganitong sitwasyon ehh though this is a risky bet but i think it's also a worthy bet.

.....and we still do not know how Inoue will do on his current division as he is yet to fight Fulton.

We will see, but the hype is very high for Inoue dominating the current division. Hopefully, we will not be disappointed in his coming performance. A dominant boxer would always bring joy to the fans, especially if that boxer is not afraid of taking on challengers, just like what Manny did. Maybe we will see someone like him in the future, or maybe it will be Inoue.

Let's see about that. But I believe Inoue can bring his prowess at super-bantam because if we look at it closely, the weight difference is not that much and most probably, 122 is Inoue's natural weight class because at 118 he needed to trim some of his weights just to suit the weight class but there's no problem about it. And so, in this division, I'm pretty much confident that Inoue can dominate 122. It's been quite a while since an Asian boxer dominated several weight classes.

Last time was Manny Pacquiao. I think he can bring his power to 122 lbs, the question is how the natural 122 lbs like Fulton will absorb his power. Although there's not much of a different as far as weight goes, but mostly natural and bigger fighter shows good power absorption. That's why when Manny for example move up in weight, he was not able to knockout the bigger guys in the weight class that he is moving up. But we shall see, this is Inoue's first fight at super bantamweight and so we don't know that to expect from him as far as power and speed as well. Or even his chin as well, if it can hold against the power of Fulton.

One or two division up i think Inoue will still be good at knocking out his opponents, i mean his power will be felt by his opponents. When Manny Pacquaio moved up to featherweight/super featherweight he was a monster back then in that division. Welterweight was the division where he has not knock out his opponents mostly because of the size.

Donaire vs Santiago has no definite schedule yet though this one is a go but i think this will be stage at a later date, anyone got an idea when?

Speaking of games for tomorrow, may napupusuan na ba kayo dito?
887  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: April 14, 2023, 10:37:40 AM

I'll put my bet on TNT on this one just because of how they played. I believe that the locals of the TNT are better than that of Ginebra (for me). TNT as the winner, and TNT +4.5 on Handicap are my bets. Cheesy

I definitely like the TNT as well, but I'm willing to take a riskier bet to get the moneyline odds. It's a seven-game series, so winning this game isn't critical as there's still Game 4 to even out the series. Hopefully, the officials won't be biased and allow the better team to win.

The reason I like the TNT is because of their attractive odds, which is the only reason.

Bookies have put attractive odds for TNT because like our speculations that game 3 would be won by Ginebra as this is a see-saw battle that we are all expecting but that remains to be seen but i have bet for TNT +5.5 @1.92 because i think that even though Ginebra wins but it's gonna be a close one like we are seeing now with the score tied at 49 apiece with 2 minutes before half time.

edit:

lost my bet as i deviated from the script hehe. TNT lost by a margin of 16 big points, credit that to the hot shooting of Malonzo, Brownlee and Pringle from the rainbow country. Not all was lost for me as i have betted that this game would be under 222.5 and it fortunately it didn't go over that figure.
888  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: April 12, 2023, 09:36:47 PM
And Ryan has been ripped already, seen some pictures of him on his social media and definitely ready for this big fight. And probably he is just walking within 140 lbs now and just need to cut to get into the 136 lbs catchweight.

And the below picture is one of them hehe. Yeah, he looked ripped already with barely ten days into the fight and that 136 lbs catchweight is very attainable but with the 10 lbs limit rehydration clause i think he would still look like that picture below, i mean he will only be taller, and not a bigger boxer this time. Davis has done a good job of beating Ryan Garcia outside of the ring. His boss (Oscar) knows well how it is to be only taller but beaten by a faster Manny Pacquaio.

Bulls +6.5 @1.85 vs Raptors
Pelicans -5.5 @1.92 vs Thunder

Good luck sa atin kabayan, sana panalo pa rin ngayong araw.
890  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: April 12, 2023, 12:18:26 PM
Still, I might be wrong that the TNT will tie the series, but there's a high chance that they will because of how teams are playing in the past years in the PBA Finals. Just look at the first 2 games of the PBA Finals on the recent Philippine Cup, and Commissioner's Cup.

Most likely that we will have a tied series after game 2 because of the trend and with how TNT plays at the moment. They lead now by double digits, 12 points to be exact at the end of the first half with Jefferson and Mikey Williams leading the way with 13 points apiece while for Ginebra it is only Brownlee who registered double-digits thus far.

Low scoring ball game so far, my bet of under 210.5 might win this time  Grin.

TNT gained control in the first half, and they might continue to play better in the second half. This is necessary because Ginebra is usually good in the second half. Brownlee only scored 7 points in the first half, which is uncharacteristic of him. I think Brownlee has learned how to play the script already.

Brownlee was so quiet in the second half, registering only 5 points if I'm not wrong so maybe he was given the script of how the PBA finals will be played hehe. Like I said, if RR Pogoy plays well chances are they will win and I'm right this time because he scored 17 big points with 3 out of 6 shooting from beyond the arc, a big help for TNT.

Lucky Wednesday for me as my two tickets have won.

Play-in to kaya bawat tira ay may halong pressure so malaking bagay na yong may handicap ka dahil malamang ay low-scoring to, just my thought hehe.
893  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: April 11, 2023, 09:36:29 PM
The odds for game two are out early, and as of now, TNT is the favorite with 1.61 odds or -3.5 using the spread. I have a feeling that TNT will win here and will cover the spread. This kind of spread is very attractive to Ginebra fans, and if we want to see this series go longer, then TNT should even the series in game 2. My bet would be TNT -3.5.

I'm tailing you on this one kabayan hehe. Just what i have said before that this would be a see-saw affair because every time a team loses they will adjust in the second game and the probability of winning is high. It is hard to imagine to see Roger Pogoy having two consecutive nights off in the finals, for sure this time he will contribute on offense as they will win if he plays well historically.

TNT -3.5 @1.88 vs Ginebra
894  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: April 11, 2023, 09:28:33 PM
There are games tomorrow:

Atlanta Hawks vs Miami Heat -5
Timberwolves vs LA Lakers -8

Share your thoughts here. I think the Hawks vs Heat game is quite difficult to predict compared to the Lakers vs Timberwolves game. Let's discuss these games.

I would say I like the Miami Heat -5 here, but I really don't know If I'd fancy the Los Angeles Lakers -8 against an healthy Timberwolves, that's a bit of a stretch imo, I might have a slight amount on the Timberwolves ML, if the odds is significant enough, but then I'll have to wait to see who or who isn't available for the Timberwolves, If I can get KAT, Anthony Edwards and Rudy Gobert all available, I'll likely go with the Timberwolves.

Rudy Gobert will not be available as he was suspended by the Timberwolves' management for punching his teammate Kyle Anderson during a heated altercation in the bench while Jaden McDaniels will be out also because of a broken hand after punching a wall  Smiley. But still it is very to bet against the Wolves with a healthy KAT and Edwards towing them so I'm going to bet for the Wolves +9.5 @1.82.

897  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Nghitumbwa (May 13) on: April 10, 2023, 09:39:22 PM
For that to happen, Nghitumbwa should gather all the luck in the world and bring it on that fight just to make Casimero kneel down or worse, kiss the canvass because if he's not that lucky then I think it is already safe to assume that his fate is already predicted as there's no way he can upset the former champion, Casimero. I mean, we surely can weigh the difference of their power just by looking at their records and this Nghitumbwa still haven't got any good calibers in his record that he defeated.

All that Nghitumbwa defeated were his neighbors in his place they said hehe. Even though the former had some power but i think this would not be enough to bring down Casimero. He is not used to fighting in a foreign land which would be a big factor because you will not be comfortable with a hostile crowd plus the fact that the judges here would be biased toward Casimero because this is his fight.

If you look at the vlogs of Casimero where they post some of their training/jogging, it seems that Team Casimero is so relaxed and has no pressure at all, this is a good sign for me going into this tune-up fight.

Just sharing a snap shot from the vlog of Casimero showing Quadro Alas and the Filipino Flash having a serious conversation  Smiley.

There are rumors that Donaire would help in the training of Casimero here in Cebu but with his coming fight with Alejandro, i don't think that it would materialize due to time constraints.

Nevertheless, it is a welcome sight for both of them training in the same gym.

Good news for Filipino boxing fans, because we have a new champion in Marlon Tapales who beat and shocks Murodjon Akhmadaliev to wrestle his two belts with a majority decision with, 115-113 for Tapales and then one judge score it a lopsided 118-110 for Akhmadaliev (maybe he is on the payroll, hehehe). Both started slow but it was more of Tapales outworking him the middle to the later rounds and Akhmadaliev have signs of ring rust. And Marlon showing his shoulder roll

And now we have a new champion at 122 lbs, and Tapales or at least the winner of the Fulton and Inoue will be all go out for a super bantamweight unification fight later or early next year.
Yes! Finally! 2 belts in line, 2 belts taken away by Marlon Tapales and he is going home with proud countrymen all rooting for him to win this one.
This is a good sign for Filipino boxers and should also boost Nonito Donaire because he will be the next one to bring home another title.

All my bets won today. Thank you Tapales. It's really worth the risk. Flexing it here.

I actually missed the fight because I was busy watching the UFC, now I am just watching the replay and analyzing how he got thru the heavy favorite Akhmadaliev.

Wow, congrats on your big win mate. I missed all the boxing fights today as i'm out of town, i could also bet the same as yours.

Nevertheless, congrats to Tapales for unifying the WBA and IBF super bantamweight title. That was a close one but still a win so Filipinos are proud of him but the road to unifying all the belts is an uphill climb as either Inoue or Fulton is waiting in the wings which will make him the huge underdog if ever that happens in the future.
