The odds say it for Anthony Joshua, it would have been disappointing and a shocker had the outcome of this fight be anything other than expected. But other than his victory, I feel the fight was a very average fight for a fighter like Joshua who we have seen better from in his early years. Had Joshua been more damaging with his right hand that we know is his most powerful hand, Maybe Franklin would have been knocked out, and that would have been a better come back statement for him.

With a win for Anthony Joshua, I wonder the fight that will come first for him, will it be Dillion Whyte or Fury?

I doubt it will be Fury who is next. Wilder might have a better chance to materialize. With that kind of performance which he himself is not happy about, he may want to think about the choices he will make and not just throw a challenge from the top in heavyweight.
We expect KOs in heavyweight matches and we didn't see it in his fight, he may want it but it didn't happen. So if I were him and his camp I'd pick those whom he can surely defeat just like what happened against Franklin. As you said, the odds say it all.

I think Joshua's performance doesn't changed, he just unlucky for not able to knockout Franklin, Joshua is really dominating in any round. It's not good for Joshua to take a challenge to fight with Wilder, either he lose or win he will not get anything. But if Joshua want to take a challenge to fight with Fury, he can grab the WBC belt if he win.

I have a different opinion, I will pick Joshua here because I expect he will become underdog due to his previous fight he not win via KO, but I know Joshua is stronger than that.

But if Joshua does not fight either Wilder or Fury then who else can he fight? Obviously Usyk is not an option as he lost clearly against him twice, so the only belt available for him to contest is the one that Fury is holding, and if he does not fight Fury then the natural candidate seems to be Wilder, now I agree that I do not see him winning over any of them but if he does not take the challenge he may as well just retire.

And like @Silberman said, there's really not much of an option unless he tries to defeat one more weak boxer just to prove his knockout ability before he journey to the popular one on the top of their weight class.
Anyway, like you guys, I may bet for the other guy in the top ranks than Joshua. Not that I underestimate him but we don't know if Franklin has a stronger chin or Joshua's punches are weaker, I believe it's the latter and it's a crucial part of his next fight.

Bob Arum made sure that his cow will make a good impression once he enters the lightweight division because before the Loma vs Haney discussion happened, I heard that it was rumored that Shakur Stevenson has been chosen by Devin Haney's camp as their next fight because they aren't yet due for any mandatory fight. So we can probably say that Shakur has already been groomed to have big fights as soon as he finishes Yoshino.

If Benavidez beat Caleb, the super middleweight boxing will be more interesting because there is a chance that WBC might implement a mandatory title fight between Benavidez and Canelo.  I think Canelo will give in to the order and fight Benavidez.

Actually, that's really the goal of Benavidez as he stated in the interview, to somehow make Canelo accept the deal fighting him in the future. Regardless if Benavidez will have a hard time against Plant, as long as he wins, he will be eligible as a mandatory challenger for Canelo. No choice for Canelo but to accept it not unless he will still insist on his solid statement before that he won't fight fellow Mexicans unless it's really necessary.

Anyways, let's see first what will be the result of their respective upcoming fights and see what will be the post-result happenings after those.

Well, I imagine that Benavidez is a boxer who is looking to win anyway, and he needs to have that match with Canelo, but as I have said before, it seems very strange of Canelo that Benavidez has to do so many things so that he can fight for him. However, I have seen some other boxers fighting to be taken down by their opponents, as is the case of Crawford with Spence, they have not Been able to fight for anything in the world, and that does not seem fair on Spence's part, Crawforded in 2022 He was preparing a lot for that fight, but Spence didn't want to fight it, Which is hard for me to understand.

Many fans may not be interested in seeing a rematch between Canelo and Bivol due to the one-sided beatdown in their previous fight where Canelo was exposed.

I think that's the other way around. Many fans want to see that rematch because they are expecting a different version of Canelo here. Being destroyed by Bivol on their first meetup, Canelo fans want to see if a sweet revenge and comeback will now be able to execute by Canelo.

It just also makes sense that some fans want a rematch between Canelo and Bivol as that was an unfinished task by Canelo that he needed to pass. Not unless Bivol is not interested in any talks about the rematch, then no choice for some fans but to move on.

By some, you mean the minority? Because I really don't see that there's a lot of fans expect from Canelo's die-hard fans who are also wishing to see the rematch with the hopes that Canelo can somehow give a difference. I mean, that's just like wishing to see a Caleb-Canelo rematch, it just doesn't make sense anymore because it was a landslide victory.

Also, I think the rematch will probably be interesting enough and will get the people's attention if the rematch will be contested at 168 and not on 175 where Bivol is more dominant just like what we saw in their first fight. If ever this rematch will happen at 175, Canelo might've wanted to add another embarrassment to his career for the sake of money-fight.

Canelo is currently at the peak of his career. Chances of upsetting Bivol in the rematch is always possible. Canelo won't reach his current status if he doesn't know how to adjust. Bivol is on another level that's why it was advised that Canelo shouldn't pursue for a rematch right away but instead take some time and that's what happened.

Even Canelo will lose on the rematch, it's impossible that the same scene we saw on their first meeting will be shown by Canelo. Expect a changes of course regardless if the rematch will happened at 168 or 175.

And about the money and revenue? There's no problem with that as both boxer's name is already enough to attract more sales.

You are absolutely right, although Canelo's chances to beat Bivol are there, it is a fact that Bivol is very focused on his Objectives, but they should fight and have that revenge because if Bivol wins, then his supremacy is already done, there is no more nothing to say, Everything is there, but in the event that he does not win,he will have Canelo there, for me Personally I think that Bivol will beat Canelo,and it is as you say, in terms of income, that is more that demonstrated, it will be a success.

Now I go back and reiterate, in a fight between these titans anything could happen, but let's remember that Canelo also has a somewhat weak hand, I don't know if they operated on it, but that is something that can block the boxer's fight and not be aware of it. 100% in all its splendor, and Bivol knows this.

Correct. It's hard to decide. I cannot even make up a good parlay as I fear one fight prediction might become a mistake. Perhaps I will stick with just singles for now.

Well, Anthony Joshua is a sure win because of his strength but even though he doesn't have many technicalities in his arsenal his strength will surely complement all of the technical aspects he lacks, for sure the most profitable fight for him is surely Tyson Fury only he is number 1 right now, but will this win truly anchor him beside the greats well Deontay Wilder as well as a great profitable fight for Joshua but I really doubt him winning that,

I can't recall what is the odd for Tapales to win in this fight as Murodjon Akhmadaliev is touted to be the biggest puncher between the two and that he is likely to face the winner of Inoue vs Fulton. But everything has change now since Marlon Tapales upset him.

We really really discount that upsets can happen, Tapales has been having a good run though in the last couple of his fights and it seems he is a late bloomer in boxing. His resume is not that good, but then again, with a big heart just like the rest of the Filipino boxers, this could he a shocker, but for his backers, it's not a surprised.

Donaire fight is still unknown when it will happen, but there are many upcoming big matches e.g. Haney vs Loma, Inoue vs Fulton, Taylor vs Lopez etc.

No date yet for Donaire vs Santiago for the WBC version. But boxing is already taking off, with big fights in the calendar year.

Wow, congrats on your big win mate. I missed all the boxing fights today as i'm out of town, i could also bet the same as yours.

Nevertheless, congrats to Tapales for unifying the WBA and IBF super bantamweight title. That was a close one but still a win so Filipinos are proud of him but the road to unifying all the belts is an uphill climb as either Inoue or Fulton is waiting in the wings which will make him the huge underdog if ever that happens in the future.

This fight might be one of the best candidates for upset of the year award.  Although not many fans are convinced of the split decision since some of them are boo-ing the announcement of the fight, it is a win indeed for the Filipino boxers.  I wonder how does the one judge go with his score of 118-110 for the former champion.  It was indeed a close fight, 115 - 113 from the other two judges, while the badhook site have it scored as 116-113 for Akhmadaliev[1]

Our own John Hansen, covering the card live, scored the bout 116-113 for Akhmadaliev, who drops to 11-1 (7 KO).

Anyway, I think a rematch is in hand since not many fans think that the two judges' decision is convincing so we might expect the camp of the former champion to demand a rematch.

But the biggest challenged for him will be the winner of Fulton vs Inoue. It's difficult fight, either who wins, IMHO.

Yeah, I think this will be the biggest hurdle of his career but possibly the greatest opportunity to make his name stamped and be included as one of the legends of boxing history.
