881  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I see many users talk about trading but does anyone here actually trading? on: December 08, 2023, 08:31:49 AM
Trading is not hard to learn, but it is hard to make money with trading. I have over 3 years experience in trading now and I am still in loss than in profit. To make money, trading is hard. To learn, trading is not hard. People can refer to earning money from trading to be hard, which is not wrong but right.
882  Economy / Gambling / Re: How to self exclude from anonymous gambling sites on: December 08, 2023, 07:44:29 AM
Instead of Atomic wallet, Trustwallet can be used. Trustwallet gives decentralized option while Atomic wallet has its own validator. Trustwallet has many validators and atomic wallet is part of them if they support the staked coin.

I prefer to use Keplr wallet which has been the best that I know. If the wallet support a coin that I want to stake, I prefer the wallet even than Trustwallet.

I can understand you, because gamblers would be discouraged to unstake their coins because the unstaking period can take up to a week or more.
883  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambling for newbies on: December 08, 2023, 07:17:28 AM
Hello everyone, as you can see I'm new here, I'm looking for recommendations for a game to bet some money that I don't mind losing, I would like recommendations and if possible a recommendation for somewhere that teaches how to play. Thank you very much. Grin
You can visit livecasino.io or some other gambling sites and go for some games. I will not recommend you any game because our preferences can differ. Just visit the site and try the fun mode.

With fun mode, you will play for free to test the game.

Gamble responsibly. Do not be addicted. Use the amount of money that you can afford to lose to gamble.
884  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador national treasury experience boost after Bitcoin surge. on: December 08, 2023, 07:00:14 AM
There is a long thread crested to discuss the adoption if bitcoin in El Salvador, you can like to be discussing there and this is the link to it:

El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻

If Bitcoin should hit a new ATH and El Salvador profited greatly from the bull market, I have a feeling other countries might be forced to embrace crypto. What do you think? Let's discuss.
Other countries might be fired to embrace crypto? Who will force the countries.

Or you meant that some countries will also want to adopt bitcoin? All countries that are bitcoin friendly are part of what are helping the adoption.
885  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will you say within your limits to encourage responsible gambling? on: December 07, 2023, 08:44:49 AM
For example, suppose you encounter a gambler who has wagered $200 at the table and is currently winning $6k. Would you express to them, "Hey, you're up $6k, and you initially entered this table with $200. Walk away, Take your winnings, go!" or will you say, "It is very admirable to know when to stop"?

What will you say within your limits to encourage responsible gambling?
The worker will not say anything. The worker do not have to say anything. Casinos will have rules, their works should not violate any of the rules. What I have noticed is that no worker will encourage you to stop playing, they will not also encourage you to continue playing. It is you that will tell yourself what that is right.
886  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling with emotions on: December 07, 2023, 08:35:44 AM
This is similar to this thread: Gambling and Behavioral Change!!!

The thread was posted today. There is nothing new to discuss about this that we have not discussed on the thread unless we should repeat positing what we posted there.
887  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Behavioral Change!!! on: December 07, 2023, 08:07:24 AM
Does any of feel behavioral change in you based on the win/loss in gambling. Myself had experienced it, and personally I used to be happy and I used to be polite with my family members and kid whenever I am on profit. On the day of losing it changes exactly in the opposite way, even for simple things I get much anger. Particularly while giving food to kid patience is must. On winning days I let him take his own time and eat. On the losing days I used to shout at him. I'm addicted, and I want fellow gamblers to make a self analysis at regular interval and be on the safer side.
People are different. When I was addicted, what I noticed for myself is that if I lose, I will not be happy, but if I win I will be happen. I do not know if someone can noticed such mood swing in me which can be common to gamblers but I do all best to hide it from people that I am moody when I lost money to gambling. I do not have the anger issue but people are different.
888  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casinos and gamblers are struggling with high tx fees.? on: December 07, 2023, 07:27:25 AM
do people still gamble with these high tx fees? Is the current congestion in the mempool a motivation to some set of gamblers? that they might likely get fortunate since alot of gamblers won't wanna evade the high fees??
This is the third thread that is about high transaction fee on this board in just one week. If anyone can not use bitcoin this time because of high transaction fee, gambling sites are supporting other coins like litecoin, tron, USDT and few others which gamblers can use instead.

Some gambling sites like rollbit and bc.game are also supporting lightning network which are of low transaction fee. No gambler will get motivated with high transaction fee.
889  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling sites and current transactions fee on: December 07, 2023, 12:09:28 AM
Now the gambling site was in the trouble because of the high transaction fee by the exchanges like the Binance. It was unacceptable one for the gambler to pay 26 dollars to withdraw funds from the Binance.Being a gambler,my opinion is to hold till the money in the exchange itself.Surely we get the profit from the gambling site,if we follow some techniques in the gambling site. But my point is why we need to pay the exchange fee of 26 dollars for the single transaction.
Binance is charging fee on bitcoin transaction excessively. They are really using it to make money for their own pockets.

My decision may be seems revolutionary one,but the fact is the same transaction fee will be reduced when the market back to the bear standard. The bull run give huge dollars to the trader who hold from the 31k market price of the bitcoin.I had some arguments with my friends with whom we meet on every weekend. They also had the opinion of hold their money in the exchange till the market fee back to the normal one.So what your standard for the current transaction fee of bitcoin.
If it is small amount of money, move it using a lightning network. The fee is cheap.
890  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will exceed the $100 barrier before 2025 on: December 06, 2023, 05:19:32 PM
Yes, definitely. $170000 is my guess. It is not too late to buy. History is repeating itself again.
891  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Do You Convince Someone On Something That Will Not Work on: December 06, 2023, 04:28:47 PM
Just let him know when to stop and he should not go for lower than 3 odds for martingale to work.

If I earn $200 weekly for example, I can use 5% to gamble at once and not think about the losses. I can use martingale for casino game with 3 odds.

Like this:
The first time I gamble I can use 2x
If I win or lose, I will continue to gamble

Anytime I lose, I increase it to $3
If I win, I will continue to gamble with $3.
If I will the second time, I will stop gambling for the day.

If I lost the second, I will gamble with $5.
If I win, I stop gambling for that week. If I lose, I stop gambling.

What I do not like about martingale is that it will only make you gamble for just short period of time like less than 10 minutes. To prolong it, he can just continue to use $0.5 to have fun.

Let him know how martingale can be very dangerous.
892  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you deal with high transaction fee on BTC on gambling? on: December 06, 2023, 04:10:33 PM
I think everyone notice how high the current fee right now on Bitcoin network
I left the bitcoin I have on gambling site alone. If I use my weekly budget finish one day, I will pounce on it. But I have enough gambling weekly budget and I leave it alone the old bitcoin budget alone which I have transferred already to gambling site. I am using stable coins and other altcoins like litecoin and tron to gamble now. As for bitcoin, I will not use it until the mempool become decongested.
893  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to avoid scams on the network? on: December 06, 2023, 02:34:41 PM
To avoid scam, always make sure that any coin sent to you is having at least 1 confirmation before accepting the transaction as a successful transaction. If a transaction is not confirmed, a scammer can use RBF to replace the transaction and the transaction will become not valid again.
894  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finally Bitcoin Devolpers planning to kill Ordinals and Inscription on: December 06, 2023, 12:03:04 PM
This is not new. Bitcoin developers know how to solve Ordinals and Inscriptions issue and we have discussed this before on this forum when BRC20 surfaced.

Miners are making money from transactions and to solve this, a proposal might be proposed. If proposed in Bitcoin Improvement Proposal, did you think that miners will agree? Remember that miners have their own nodes. I do not think any mining pool will agree to this when they are making more money from transactions.

I will also say that bitcoin developers can look for alternatives means to solve this issue of transaction fee because Ordinals makes the use of bitcoin blockchain to widen. Some people that do not like the high fee are the ones that are now complaining.
895  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: help me not to leave btc on: December 06, 2023, 11:01:56 AM
What kind of mindset should I have to stay in Bitcoin? And I think Bitcoin is about to hit the highest price ever, so how should I plan my dca strategy?
It is not too late. Your DCA strategy will depend on the amount of money you are earning and the period of time you are given. If you earn weekly, you should DCA weekly. If you earn money, you should DCA monthly.

The transaction fee is high right now, you can use lightning network.  Many exchanges are having lightning network and you can use it with a lightning network wallet.

If the amount has grown, then send it to a noncustodial wallet.

But you can use side chain instead. They are altcoins but they have low fee. Just until the time the network is not having high fee like this.
896  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: can somebody recommend me a good profitable ALERT app for crypto on: December 06, 2023, 10:21:07 AM
Most exchanges have notifications in a way it will alert you when a coin has increased.

For other coins, example on Binance, you can click on the chart on both the sport or the future market, below it you will see alert. Click on the alert to set the price you want to be notified.

You can also use TradingView.

You can set alert on Coingecko and Coinmarketcap. I noticed that I am getting alert with price changes of the coins that I added to my portfolio on these sites. You can also set alert on some selected coins on the sites.
897  Other / Meta / Re: I have no more merit left to give! on: December 06, 2023, 06:19:44 AM
Eventually when I get more merit I think I will be much more selective in how I distribute it this next time only giving one at a time I think.
In the last 120 days, you sent 7 merit at once to a user which was the furthest in date. You sent 2 merits differently to 2 users. And you sent 1 merits differently to 11 users. I think you are selective already.

So... what does that mean? you can apply become a merit source if you want, AFAIK the requirement you only need to report 10 unmerited posts and then wait for theymos to approve. Even you don't have merit you can still ask other merit sources to merit it [self-moderated] Report unmerited good posts to Merit Source, I don't see any point for asking more merit when there are already few solutions out there.
The chance that he would be given merit source is not high. He is not saying he wants to become a merit source. But he can apply if he wants. Just that theymos is not selecting any merit source from people that have been applying since 2021.
898  Economy / Reputation / Re: Most famous person on Bitcointalk? on: December 06, 2023, 06:00:14 AM
Most of the famous people here on Bitcointalk are those who are always active here on the forum.

You can check the BPIP.org tool to find them and I think they are under the most recognized tab check the link below.

People that are active on Bitcointalk are famous, but they might not be the most famous person. You will see Satoshi Nakamoto Bitcointalk account being discussed in other social media other than Bitcointalk. No one that has account on this forum that will not know Satoshi Nakamoto, but his account on this forum is not active.
899  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you feeling FOMO like I am? on: December 05, 2023, 07:50:09 PM
Anyone else feeling same way?
Anyone that knows about bitcoin that its price is going to over $100000 this time will fomo.
900  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: is arbitrage still possible in crypto ? on: December 05, 2023, 01:15:27 PM
Exchanges listed coins with different prices. Sometimes, you will see huge price difference between the same coin on different exchanges.

Exchanges also are supporting stable coins which you will use for the the trading pairs.

You can start to check some coins on different exchanges and make sure their difference can give you profit.

You will need high amount of money for arbitrage trading. But it is risky, just that small amount of money can not give huge profit.
