881  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: November 17, 2020, 10:39:03 AM

Yes I would need to agree with you on this one.
Even though I like sports and it commencing for the regular league play.
I read a ticker saying one team had to withdraw 5 players due to the pandemic.
Even during the weekend in the NCAAF several matches were cancelled due to it.
I think I read half of a team had tested positive and they can catch it quite easily because they probably use the same facilities to train.
So these friendlies and even Nation league games are really unnecessary because they literally amount to nothing in the grand scheme of things in the end.
Unlike the EPL and league play which determines who hoists the trophy at the end of the season.

I wonder if they will cancel or delay the games if people keep catching covid whilst they're on international duties? They can always play them at the end of the season and I think taking a break from them would be a good idea right now. Places like aeroplanes are probably the worst place to be during a pandemic as there's a lot of outside staff on them who might not be tested as well as athletes are and the air is constantly recycled so it's like an incubation chamber for infectious diseases. Have any managers complained about the internationals or called for them to be scrapped?

Mo Salah did test positive for covid-19 so wouldn't count on him playing for the remainder of the year due to sport league protocols in england.
https://www.thisisanfield.com/2020/11/mohamed-salah-could-still-be-fit-for-leicester-as-egypt-expect-negative-test
Making it even tougher for a roster depleted LFC team to compete for top 5 in the EPL. Embarrassed
https://edition.cnn.com/2020/11/13/football/mo-salah-tests-positive-covid-19-egypt-spt-intl/index.html

I don't think he'll be out for the rest of the year unless there's some restrictions that say people who have had covid have to do so. I'm sure they'll allow he back as soon as he tests negative. Ronaldo was out for a few weeks I think but that's because he kept testing positive. I saw that he apparently was claiming the tests were defective and giving false positives as well which would make sense since he was asymptomatic. I don't really trust those tests at all and they could quite easily be detecting something else or remnants of the diseases that aren't active any more.
882  Other / Meta / Re: Post deleted by mistake or what? on: November 17, 2020, 10:30:20 AM
I didn't handle it but looks like someone reported it as low value.
No disrespect but I think that mods should evaluate the reports of low quality posts more in-depth so this kind of complaints would not happen again. I might be asking for too much knowing that mods have a lot of work to do and a measly single deleted post will not be worth attention which I get will be unfair to the mods of each deleted are reviewed in-depth which takes a lot of time.

Well how in depth do you want someone to go? There's only so much time you can spend evaluating a post and every mod will have a different opinion on certain things or what constitutes a low quality post or spam. I see lots of posts reported for low quality and such and I'm often on the fence about them so I just leave them be but others may be much harsh or unforgiving. A good quarter of posts here could probably be deleted for being low quality but I don't feel that's something mods should be having to deal with as it's mostly spam from signature campaigns and their managers should be responsible for that. Then of course mods also do make mistakes from time to time as well.
883  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How I make 10 000$ month? on: November 17, 2020, 10:24:30 AM
10k a month lol. You don't ask much, do you? The average salary in the UK is £2535 and earning 100k a year would make you pretty wealthy.

So how I can earn 10000$ month?
here?
Id like to ask people who earn this money here Monthly?
I mean mimimum 10k monthly  well in worse case scenario  7k but nothing under 7 k month not interested!!

And this 10k not even good, why?  I need 10k salary one year to get 100k but with 100k you Can't buy nothing much!!
The good house apartment  start from 500k.
and loans are stupid.
Im not to blame on this that Every just normal things cost so much money!!

Indeed I dont ask if its possible or not!!
Im asking how and people who earn share Please your advice thanks Smiley
and no bad attitude comments!!

If you can suck 100 dicks a month at 100 dollars then you will have 10k a month. I know that sounds a lot but it's not at all. In fact, do the math. It's only 3.33333333 dicks a day which is easy. And before you say it's impossible; it really isn't. There's a couple of youtube channels I watch that interview homeless women/sex workers who prostitute themselves to feed their drug habits and one of the questions they get asked is how much do they spend on drugs a day and the minimum they usually say it about 100 dollars but oftentimes it's not uncommon for them to be spending 200-500 a day on drugs alone and they get the money mostly by selling sex so if they can do it then so can you. Hustle like a crackhead and you'll soon be very wealthy because if someone can spend 500 a day on drugs imagine what someone could do with that money if they saved it. 500 x 30 is a whopping 15k a month so get sucking some dicks and you'll be rich in no time. Godspeed.
884  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING ]: Fury vs Wilder III in Las Vegas on 18th July 2020 !!! on: November 17, 2020, 09:41:57 AM
I see no reason why Fury would want to fight Wilder again. In his eyes he just does not does see Wilder as someone he needs to fight again. The clause for the trilogy was triggered because Wilder wanted it but they could not agree terms. I think Fury genuinely believes that Wilder is mentally unwell and because he himself suffered from severe depression he just does not want anything at all to do with Wilder now.

He might not want it but if it's contractually obliged then he doesn't have a choice, which it was, but now it's up to arbitration to decide if it's still valid due to time elapsed. And Fury not wanting to fight him again just seems like braggadocio to me. There's still unfinished business as the first fight was a draw. I don't believe he thinks Wilder is mentally ill either. Wilder is a sore loser though coming out with all these bullshit excuses. He's probably just doing it to cause drama and interest to try get the third fight.

https://twitter.com/MTKGlobal/status/1328041743808393219

So Fury will not be fighting for this year or next month, does it mean that they are waiting for the mediation/arbitration then?

And that a trilogy might be possible March 2021 again?

He still might fight someone before any rematch but I'm sure he's waiting the decision of the courts first. Would be silly not to. He might not be allowed to fight anyone if the contract is in fact still valid.
885  Other / Meta / Re: Why don't you add an Staking Board? on: November 16, 2020, 10:18:02 PM
I believe the OP is pertaining here for the Staking which is the transaction validation on a PoS Blockchain and not the Staking of address for identity validation sir.

Oh. Well I don't see why that would be needed. Probably not enough demand and it's probably just another gimmick.
886  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: November 16, 2020, 04:10:36 PM
@hilarious
Agreed, I’m not a fan of international football at the best of times but this year especially it should have all been scrapped except possibly the qualifiers for the Euro’s.
Under no circumstance should the Nations League & friendlies be taking place when we are in a global pandemic.

Yeah, it's a bit silly really. The Euros were scrapped this year so they should have just done the same with the pointless Nation's League which are just gloried friendlies anyway. The EUROs would have actually been much safer because the games are all in the same country and the individual groups are all in the same place so you could easily quarantine teams and not have them flying all over Europe like what is happening with the Nation's League and other friendly games. We really don't need them now with everything that's going on so they should have just scrapped them this but I guess money talks and they don't want to lose out on all the broadcasting rights. It annoyed me that Sky bought up the rights to the Nation's League when it was created. International team games have always been on free-to-air TV over here in the UK but this whole Nation's League thing just seems like another cash grab and to try give friendly games some value and meaning. Luckily I have the German Dazn and that shows all of them, not that I'm interested in most of them, but I usually watch the England games and if there's any other big match ups going on.
887  Other / Meta / Re: Why don't you add an Staking Board? on: November 16, 2020, 04:00:24 PM
Also, due to the bounty section there's plenty of options for people to post their addresses there. If they're deleted or modified admins can see that anyway but people should be sure to stake a bitcoin message or their PGP key somewhere.
Perhaps you are mistaken about the semantic context, especially given this reply:

Hmm... Well we all know this forum is only for bitcoin but when there's boards for Altcoin like (discussion, ann, mining) etc. why not staking..

Well, we could have a thread for people who want to do KYC or prove their identity with their PayPal account but the admins likely aren't going to use that info to recover accounts so it's futile. There are hundreds if not thousands of currencies out there and it would be very messy if we were to have hundreds of threads for staking addresses for every one of them and it would inevitably just lead to much more spam as people see them as just another thread to get a +1 post in. Signing a message from an alt coin should be something secondary or used as a last resort if someone can't prove ownership via other means and accounts have rarely been recovered using alt accounts. I can think of only one I know of.

This two week PL hiatus is no fun; but at least it gives us plenty of time to research our picks  Wink

I'm currently sitting in #4; and only 7.5 points from the lead.

November 21 can not get here soon enough!

Can't research them that much just in case of injuries during the internationals. There's some big games when we return though: Spurs v Man City, Leeds V Arsenal, Liverpool V Leicester are all worth a watch and could shake up the table a bit.

I feel like those fixtures got draws written all over them...  With the players getting back from international duty and all.

But yeah, looking forward to Mou vs Pep for sure.

Yeah, I put my provisional scores in before the international break and I've gone for many draws including two from the ones above but I'll likely change some though it will be hard to decide which ones. I've provisionally backed Liverpool to win at home but I might go for another draw given Liverpool's injuries. They still might be too strong for them at home though.

Not long to go until we do battle again Smiley
I despise the international breaks, thankfully this is the last one until March now. Glad to be back to the PL & our pool again this weekend coming.

They should probably scrap the international breaks and just do them at the end of the season in the years where there's no EUROs or World Cup. Managers are already complaining about domestic congestion and the internationals just make it worse as they have to then play catch up at some point which then leads to teams playing 2 or 3 games a week at some point.

889  Other / Meta / Re: Auto Delete on: November 16, 2020, 03:45:09 PM
Hello everyone,

Recently I tried to join in a signature campaign, but not noticed that they already closed for new participants. So now, I need to wait 24 hours to delete my post.

The idea, in deleting a new post automatically after reaching a 24-hour barrier, if the user clicked  "delete".  Also, make it possible to cancel auto-deleting.

Maybe theymos could do that but the trouble with automating it is that people could also automate the deleting and reposting process which could be taken advantage of so maybe it's better to just manually do it. You can always report the post to mods if you wish to have it deleted. Just state so in the report and a mod will likely remove it, but it's not really a big deal really.
890  Other / Meta / Re: Plagiarism as a result of cultural differences on: November 16, 2020, 01:18:52 PM
People really should be given a warning about plagiarism as obviously not all plagiarism is equal. There's obviously a huge difference between someone who comes here and tries to milk signature campaigns or farm accounts by using someone else's postings either from this forum or elsewhere but if someone just posts an incorrectly quoted/sourced answer from google to a question someone asked then that really shouldn't be the end of their account. A warning or at the very most a short temp ban should be enough.
Warning is for newbies who don't read rules, don't know where to read rules or read but don't know the rule of plagiarism. With users are in the forum for a while and are Sr. Members, Hero members or Legendary members I don't agree they need warnings.

Well it depends on the level/type of plagiarism. If someone asks a question like what is the colour teal and someone goes straight to google/wikipedia and posts Teal is a blue-green colour. Its name comes from that of a bird—the common teal (Anas crecca)—which presents a similarly colored stripe on its head. The word is often used colloquially to refer to shades of cyan in general. then I don't think they should be permanently banned for that. A warning would suffice for 99% of people to not do it again.

Quote
Obviously most of us know that plagiarism is wrong but sometimes it's just down to naivety more than anything and a lot of time won't be done with malicious intent with or without a signature. We also really need to get that welcome message sorted where users are urged to read the rules or are given a handful of the most important ones upon sign-up. That alone would stop a lot of this from ever happening.
Roger it, naivety is for newbies not for Hero members 'bitcoinst' abusing signature campaign with alt account & spamming by copy-paste

I'm not talking about specific cases but not everyone reads the rules or ventures into Meta. The rules should be made available upon sign-up. For many users they have little no reason to go here in Meta or it's often the last board they do. A welcome message stating a few of the most serious rules would help tremendously.
891  Other / Meta / Re: Moderator deletion of serious discussion in the Wall Observer on: November 16, 2020, 12:58:20 PM
I didn't remove them but there's a few reports against you there for off topic posts.

Love to know by whom. The WO is supposed to be a place where pretty much anything goes. It’s bad form to be reporting stuff in the WO; I hope it isn’t a regular poster there.

Reports to the moderators are supposed to be confidential.

Yeah, I don't mind sharing what the report was for as people have a right to know it requested and it can help prevent further mistakes either by that user or staff, but who reported it should be left up to the individual if they want to make themselves known.

Report button in WO should be remapped to OP (infofront currently) or removed entirely and that would take care of this issue.

It shouldn't be removed as people can post malicious stuff in there that would need to be removed quickly. There's been multiple waves of spambots recently and many or posting malicious links so they need to be acted upon ASAP.
892  Other / Meta / Re: Why don't you add an Staking Board? on: November 16, 2020, 12:54:08 PM
Forgetting that this is bitcointalk for a moment, it has been suggested before but it's probably largely useless as most staff probably aren't going to verify accounts in such a way. Also, due to the bounty section there's plenty of options for people to post their addresses there. If they're deleted or modified admins can see that anyway but people should be sure to stake a bitcoin message or their PGP key somewhere. There will probably be many more ways to secure your account on the new forum as well so probably none of this will be needed anyway in the future.

Briton Tyson Fury has abandoned plans to fight in London on 5 December.

The 32-year-old world heavyweight champion, who has not fought since beating Deontay Wilder in February, had been expected to confirm a bout against Germany's Agit Kabayel.

I didn't think this was going to happen. Seems like a bit of a pointless fight and he might be in some sort of legal limbo with the Wilder rematch since it's in arbitration right now. The wise thing to do would be to wait to see what the outcome of the arbitration process is before he makes any decisions. Regardless, I still think he should fight Wilder and put that speculation to rest and he's going to have to wait for AJ anyway. It's still going to be the biggest fight for both of them.

Fury's younger brother even called out Wilder's younger brother recently:

https://talksport.com/sport/boxing/789293/tommy-fury-deontay-wilder-brother-marsellos/

Maybe that fight could be on the under-card. That would certainly add some more heat to the fight. Can even bill it as a war of families.

@all LFC supporters out there

You guys really got an extraordinary run of bad luck lately. First Salah with corona and then Robertson and now I hear even Henderson got injured.
So that is now whole first team defense (Robertson, Dijk, Gomez, Arnold) + Fabihno, then you are missing Thiago, Henderson and Salah. Who is gonna play?

Good thing Jota started really well so attack should be more than fine, midfield you can sort of also make work but defense is a total problem IMHO.

The league couldn't be more open right now which is a good thing in my opinion. Liverpool probably won't win it due to all their injuries. City have been very inconsistent and have drawn three games out of their last five. Leeds and Everton were doing very well but both have three losses out of their last five. Leicester are currently first but I don't think they've got the squad or stamina to keep it up. Spurs and Chelsea haven't been playing too bad but not looking unbeatable though I wouldn't put money on them. Southampton are currently fourth and only two points behind first place but you'd be foolish to think they'll be able to keep up their current form for the entire season, so I've no idea who will end up winning it.

@DdmrDdmr
I asked long ago about the possibility to have multiple owners of one thread, but I haven't heard since. We don't have a local section, only a thread in the other languages and the OP is a newbie with 2 posts and last active back in march 2012. I thought since this is our official thread, it could be changed an updated a if someone share the ownership with the OP.
It can be a solution in your case too.

It probably won't happen on this forum but hopefully it'll be on the new one. It would be a useful feature for sure.
896  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING ]: Fury vs Wilder III in Las Vegas on 18th July 2020 !!! on: November 13, 2020, 10:06:16 AM
Look, nobody wants to watch this fight again including me.
Fury is to smart for Wilder, and looking Wilder behaving like a little desperate girl will only push away Fury even more.
Let him first fight with Joshua, and later we can consider having that trilogy Smiley

Lots of people want to see it including me. First fight was a draw and the second was finished by the towel being thrown in regardless of Fury dominating so there's still unfinished business in my opinion. Joshua has a fight in the meantime as well so taking the Trilogy fight isn't going to delay anything. Also, it's probably not as easy as fighting someone else in the meantime for Fury especially if the belts are on the line because Wilder was contractually allowed to try win them back in a rematch.

Wilder responded to Fury's offer of help yesterday:

"Hey Tyson Fury, don't worry about me I am fine, blessed.

The only thing I want from you is for you to honour your agreement and fight me. I gave you two shots when I didn't have to and it changed your life. Now it is time for you to be a man and give me my shot as you agreed to."

https://www.sportbible.com/boxing/news-deontay-wilder-responds-to-tyson-furys-offer-to-help-him-20201112

I think Fury should honour the contract and if he wins then it will be undisputed and we can all look forward to the Aj fight.
897  Other / Meta / Re: Report flagged as bad by mistake? on: November 13, 2020, 09:32:48 AM
I always wonder what exactly I typed for the bad report. Unfortunately I can't see that anymore, and I report too many posts to remember everything.
My latest bad report was on this post. I'm pretty sure I reported it because it's a duplicate of this post, which isn't allowed:
12. No duplicate posting in multiple boards (except for re-posting it in the local language boards if it's translated).

You can have a duplicate thread in both the bitcoin and alt coin marketplaces obviously providing they accept the relevant currencies, if that's what's happened here. You can always PM a Global mod at the time and ask them what the report was marked bad for.

I am about 700 good and 10 bad. Yet every bad I get pisses me off so much that it is quite remarkable even to myself. Grin.

I don’t complain to the mod that marked it bad. As I realize I could be wrong. But ego is funny that way.

Damn. I'd suggest maybe not reporting things if it makes you irate or only reporting things you know to be 100% correct as there are a lot of grey areas and things that are completely subjective. Grin. Like I said above, you can always PM a mod to try find out. I think it would be helpful if staff could state the reason why it was marked bad on the report.
898  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Which websites have hit you with random I.D Verification freezes on: November 13, 2020, 09:25:46 AM
It might be annoying but it's just part of the cryptosphere now and if you want bitcoin to become mainstream then things like this are inevitable like it or not. There are pros and cons to it though. Would you want someone who isn't you to be able to withdraw your coins? At least it's another layer of security in that regard but if you're not comfortable with this sort of verification I would look for other exchanges that don't require them.
899  Other / Meta / Re: Report flagged as bad by mistake? on: November 12, 2020, 12:42:35 PM
Only admins can change the status of the report but I wouldn't bother them with it as nobody is going to care about one report.

I also had a situation where the report was marked as bad, although it was a very obvious mistake of whoever handled the report (it was a referral link). I contacted the moderator in charge of that board, and he deleted the ref link, but of course the report still remained marked as bad. I have to admit that I was not aware that only admin/s can change that status. This is good information for all those who find themselves in a similar situation, and I think that in most cases there is no need to burden admins with such things.

Mods handle thousands of reports a month so occasionally ones will be incorrectly marked though it will be fairly rare. I remember one time back when I was a reporter I had one marked incorrectly as bad and BadBear did manage to sort it for me and get it changed but it honestly doesn't matter really unless you're going for a perfect 100% or something. I think theymos has mentioned before that anything over 80% is considered very good so one or two bad reports or incorrectly marked bad reports really isn't going to make a difference.
900  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING ]: Fury vs Wilder III in Las Vegas on 18th July 2020 !!! on: November 12, 2020, 11:55:30 AM
Deontay Wilder is really forcing this trilogy fight now and most people knows that he would only lose again.
Look at Tyson Fury now offering to help him with his mental issues, and he is not showing interest to fight him  Smiley
Fury said he is preparing and hoping for his next fight on December 5th with Agit Kabayel in London:
https://www.boxingnews24.com/2020/11/tyson-fury-worried-about-deontay-wilders-mental-wellbeing-offers-to-help/

Anthony Joshua is fighting against Kubrat Pulev on December 12, and everyone is expecting Fury vs Joshua next.

For now, slowly the interest of this Trilogy is going now, they are not in the situation where fans are dying to see these two fighter fight in the ring, the interest now has shifted to Joshua vs Fury, and slowly Wilder is loss somewhere, of course he can get back, but not with a fight with Fury this time.

Both of these fighters would win their respective match, and I would say it's easy for them.

I don't think the interest is going anywhere and I'm sure most would want to see a trilogy fight than one against someone like Agit Kabayel. Surely people would rather see him face Wilder again than some bum or journeyman? The AJ fights are a long way away and AJ is fighting this month so there's no point Fury waiting around. The fight against Agit Kabayel might not even happen either and if AJ loses again there'll be another rematch.

It is clear that for Fury the trilogy with Wilder does not carry much meaning now and he has moved on, how any mediation is going to resolve this issue now when Fury is going to fight Kabayel? Maybe talk of a trilogy will be seriously revived if Fury wins his next fight then fights Wilder if it can be arranged. Things are not that straightforward any longer that Fury and Wilder can have their third fight, it is more complex to negotiate now and it is Fury that has the balance of power with him and Wilder simple is at a disadvantage.

It carries a lot of meaning to Wilder as it's his only chance to win his belts back along with the biggest payday he'll be getting, not to mention he will feel like he's owed it as the rematch was in the contract and that's what mediation will attempt to sort out. I don't think the Agit Kabayel fight is a done deal anyway or it certainly didn't seem that way in the interview Fury did yesterday so if that doesn't happen he can take the rematch or put that aside to do it next month, which is probably a bit too soon in my opinion but if Fury is ok with fighting Agit I can't see why he can't fight Wilder but maybe Wilder isn't ready.
