881  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do 90% of Bettors Lose in Sports Betting in the Long-term? on: August 12, 2023, 07:23:21 AM
Generally I will bet when I get a good prediction based on my own research, for example a meeting between the two teams in football and I will see the chances of winning first before deciding to bet.

Chance of winning alone is definitely not enough and is probably the main reason why so many people lose money. What you need to be looking at is the relation of payout rate to the chance of winning (Expected Value of the bet). So what if the team A has 90% chance of winning if the odds are set at x1.05. This wouldn't be a good bet to make. And if the team B has only 10% chance of winning, but the odds are set at x15.0 - that'd be a good value bet.

Although that is definitely true that the odds of winning are relatively low on the player's side but another major reason is the habit that gamblers develop to keep playing.
Despite knowing that they are losing most of their bets they still tend to keep playing losing more. This is why the losses always overcome the profits.
This is why 90% gamblers lose money in the long term.

I also want Australia to advance to the semis, since they are an Asian team. But winning against France is going to be a very tough task.

Australia is not an Asian team  Shocked

It would be a good game of hockey but France will have an advantage. France and Australia both topped their groups.
In the knockout stages, France beat Morocco 4-0 while the Australian women's team beat Denmark 2-0.

If we go through the odds at Stake, we will clearly see that bookmakers are also favoring France in this match. One may take the risk to bet on Australia and get the odds of 3.45 but i do believe that 2.17 odds for France is pretty decent too.

Most of the people are supporting France which is kinda obvious but if Australia somehow wins then it will be a pretty good reward for them.
The odds are better on Stake when compared to freebitco.in. I usually bet on freebitco.in but it seems that I might have to reconsider it.

883  Local / India / Re: why indians afraid to invest in crypto on: August 11, 2023, 12:39:35 PM
many indian young people are lazy they want everything without doing anything. most of them follow big people or big influencers like warren buffet, some indian business coach like vivek bindra, etc.
they say bitcoin have no base, bitcoin is ponzi, bitcoin is a bubble, etc. and people listen them and be convinced that bitcoin is ponzi and spread every where like in friend circles, family, etc.
they do not do their own research, lazy people...

most of the big crypto youtuber are also don't have good understanding of bitcoin, they just search for crypto news on google and scroll every article and tell... there they done that, there they done that, this will pump, this will dump, etc. i quite watching those fake fuc*ing youtubers

I don't know where are you getting that from but India is one of the top countries investing in cryptocurrencies.
The number of people getting involved with crypto has only increased in the last 5 years.
Although majority of Indian population has still not invested in cryptocurrencies but so are other countries.
So I think it's not just India but all the other countries as well who think crypto is not a viable investment.

I tried the exchange today and it seems that there is some issue with the code TheQuin.
After the exchange a green popup was displayed saying I can play the spin in the new tab that is opened.
But I didn't get any new tab opened and eventually I had to play the spin by going to homepage and clicking on my WoF spins.

That is your browser settings blocking the page from opening. When I exchanged some RP for 1 spin I got a little icon in my address bar and a notice saying a pop-up window was blocked. Clicking on the icon opened up the WOF spin page.

Nice one. I didn't notice it though but after reading your post I had tried again and noticed the popup getting blocked.
I do have adblock and other privacy settings so may be they are blocking the popups.
885  Other / Off-topic / Re: Keeping your gambling habit a secret. on: August 11, 2023, 12:27:16 PM
I think it's mostly because of the fact that they enjoy gambling but are reluctant to disclose it to others because they know that others won't encourage them to do it.
It's when we know what we are doing is not really encouraged by others but still we choose to do it is when people make that thing a secret.
We can't really judge people because of this. It's not about being proud of something but enjoying it.

peoples personality differs and hiding their gambling habit might be for a reason maybe they don't want to disclose personal reasons, and in term of encouragement, it depends if he or she is always getting a win then nobody will say anything bad am very sure of that, in fact, people will see him as a model to copy and want to learn from him, but if the person his always losing people will always try to discourage them from playing but the fact that money is involved will even be difficult to talk people out, judging is truly bad and no one is perfect, the only thing I suggest is we can render advice and its left for them to choose.

I think gambling is an old form of entertainment that was meant to entertain the rich. When it reached common people the loss and debt trap might have created an image of shame and loss. That is why people tend to hide that they are gamblers due to the shame from society. I have seen many gamblers who do gamble will only disclose it when they have your confidence. I mean mostly they disclose it to friends who are aware of the habits or close friends. I do not think they will disclose how they win or share their strategy as it will only jeopardize their reputation if the results are not positive.

You have a point. Most of the gamblers hide their gambling habits because they lose money in gambling.
If people would win money from gambling they wouldn't feel shy or guilty to share their gambling habits.
It's only when we lose money we get concerned over what people might think of them and that doesn't happen when we win.
886  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I see it, I feel it, I know it and it will live forever. on: August 11, 2023, 12:23:54 PM
I have mentioned the same thing in my previous post. I said that it will surely stay for a long time.
But the harsh truth is that everything has an end and so will bitcoin. We just don't know how and when it will come to an end but it will.
It's a simple fact based on what I said it will surely come to an end at some point of time.

It is not only based on what you stated, there are lots of proof that technology become obsolete, even the means of trade which in the ancient times were barter but now, we can hardly see barter being done today.  In short, it was long established that nothing last forever in this world.

Bitcoin and blockchain is here to stay for a long time but saying that it will live forever is an over statement.  Although we all like Bitcoin to stay but we have to be realistic and accept that one day in the future, some technology will replace Bitcoin making it obsolete.

Yeah exactly, that's what my point is. Even I like bitcoin and want it to stay long but we can't keep saying it will live forever because nothing does.
But one thing we can say is that bitcoin will stay as long as we are living because that is a sure possibility.
None of us will live until 2140 but bitcoin will stay most probably.
887  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to make a life by Day Trading on: August 10, 2023, 02:34:04 PM
Setup your target income per day for me I'm currently happy making $300 a day since it covers my daily life essentials and needs I'm living outside the US so the cost of living in my country is pretty cheap and $300 is a lot already.
Also Setup your target loss per day for me I'm okay with losing $100 a day but that's it once I lose that $100. I will go outside and get some fresh air and come back once my mind is clear again remember once you're losing you tend to increase your leverage which is bad It will cost you a lot.
Trust me I've been there before.

If you are earning $300 a day then you are earning more than an average middle class family. It's a pretty good amount.
But if you are okay losing $100 a day then your risk taking capability is high and I guess this is why you are able to earn so much.
Coming straight to point, can you show your trade history so that we can actually believe what you are saying is the truth.
888  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: As an undergraduate, is it advisable to invest my trustfund in Bitcoin? on: August 10, 2023, 02:08:52 PM
I'm a student still studying, and I've been putting away some money from my trust fund over the last 3 years. Because money doesn't seem to buy as much as before in my country and maybe even everywhere, I'm thinking about what to do with my savings. I've been hearing about this thing called cryptocurrency and Bitcoin. People say you can buy Bitcoin and become really wealthy. Even one of my classmates told me the same thing.

I talked to my classmate, and he said I could learn about it on my own because there's a lot of information out there. That's how I ended up finding this forum. So, here's what I want to know: Is it a good idea if I use the money I've saved up from 3 years of my trust fund to buy Bitcoin?

A lot of it depends on a lot of factors.

You can't become wealthy by investing just a few dollars. You need to keep buying and dollar cost average.
You can't become wealthy if you don't know when to buy and when to sell.
You need to understand market conditions and you should have patience.
We can never predict the price of bitcoin and you need to hold strong in worse conditions and wait for the price to recover.
Don't blindly follow what others say because you need to believe in bitcoin and so you should learn more about it.
Keep learning more everyday and then you will know whether you can become wealthy with bitcoin or not.

Where do you find that option? I tried to look for it in the rewards tab but can't find it back.
That's under number of your reward points in "rewards" tab.
The more you wager, the more reward points you can exchange for wheel of fortune spins every day.
I think you should be able to exchange 1 RP for wof spins daily, even if you haven't ever wagered.

Thanks, looked over it, but just found it back. Never wagered and only placed a couple of smaller bets on events, but apparently I can exchange up to 11 tickets a day!

Are you TheQuin's relative  Tongue (kidding) because 11 WoF spins for RP without wagering much is a big deal.
I think many people would hardly be getting 2 spins for exchange and I just get 1.

I tried the exchange today and it seems that there is some issue with the code TheQuin.

Meaning you have guilt in you that is why you are keeping your gambling activities secretive from friends and family. I like it when people love me for who I am and not because of what they see me do.

I was once secretive about my gambling activities but I couldn't hide it anymore to my close friend because he is always keeping an eye on me. Since we are adult, I told him that it gives me joy and that I do it for fun. Later he didn't criticise gambling anymore because he sees that I don't behave like a gambler that do gamble excessively.

It's not always about the guilt. We know that most of the people don't take gambling in a positive way because of it's obvious image.
It's not that I hide my gambling from others because my friends and family know that I occasionally gamble.
But it doesn't mean that I will go and announce to the world that I gamble.
Unless someone keenly asks about it I think we shouldn't publicize our gambling habits.
891  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I see it, I feel it, I know it and it will live forever. on: August 10, 2023, 01:15:24 PM
do you think it will live forever?

No.

Nothing lasts forever and everything has an end. Bitcoin is here, which is good but I don't think it will stay forever.
It will surely stay for a long time but at some point of time it will seize to exist.
Don't worry though because we all will be dead by that time. We can say that bitcoin will live at least until we live.
I think you are just predicting just the same way some people predict bitcoin price, it is as if you are very sure bitcoin is not gonna last forever.  True nothing last forever,  but when it comes to bitcoin it is too hard to predict if it will not last forever, as far as bitcoin continues to solve the problem of fiat I believe it will last for a very longtime.

If fiat  can continue to be fiat and of course I don't think if their will be any change in the value of fiat. If bitcoin still remains a decentralized currency and being the first decentralized currency because of it reliability it will last very long. No  one can tell how the end of bitcoin will be , let's enjoy the benefit and opportunity while it last.

I have mentioned the same thing in my previous post. I said that it will surely stay for a long time.

893  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wagering - share your opinion on: August 09, 2023, 03:21:06 PM
Dear all,
Here to discuss wagering.
Wagering is an activity to redeem gambling bonuses, increase the rank of your account in a casino and a whole series of other advantages ...
Share your opinion and what are your tips or tricks on this topic

I focus less on wagering and more on the fun but whenever I am into wagering it is mostly for the bonuses and rewards that comes with it.
I know, wagering bonuses can be really tempting but at the same time we have to provide our time and money to fulfill the wagering requirements.
It also happens some times that in the process of wagering we tend to lose all that we have in our account and so we should be cautious while wagering too much.
894  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Deposit limits on: August 09, 2023, 03:14:56 PM
This is how it is on gambling sites:

Quote
Many of our customers use Deposit Limits to manage their spending. Limits can be set for a 24 hour, 7 day or 30 day period and cannot be overridden

You can decrease your Deposit Limits at any time and this will be applied immediately.

Before increasing your Deposit Limits carefully consider if you can afford to do so. Never decide to increase your limit because you have lost money and think that you will win it back by gambling more. If you wish to increase a limit you will need to wait 24 hours before we action your request and then return to our site to confirm that you still want to increase it.

I quoted it from a gambling site.

This is just an evidence that their is nothing called deposit limit. Assuming you set it to 7 or 30 days and you set it to $100. Once you bet and lose the $100, you can wait for 24 hours to increase it above $100.

Without discipline yourself, you will increase the limit and gamble more. I have been into gambling for many years, this is one of the problem I have faced before.

But for people that gamble daily, setting a daily limit can be helpful. It is the only one that is useful.

I think it's a nice thing to have a deposit limit but they shouldn't allow us to change the deposit limit once set for the given period of time.
Only after the duration is over we should be able to change the deposit limit again. But I know they are allowing it to generate more business revenue.
This shows they don't care much about their users are into it only for profits. The ability to create a deposit limit is just a show off for them to convince users that they do care about their users.
895  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lost bitcoins on: August 09, 2023, 03:14:48 PM
I read some old threads about lost Bitcoins ND this question has been on my mind ever since
If the lost Bitcoins were for instance recovered will the price of Bitcoin drop  because in theory it would affect the amount of Bitcoin in circulation which will lower it's price . I saw in those threads that lost Bitcoins are considered a donation to the Bitcoin network. so if my theory is correct then we should be happy those Bitcoins were lost.

It is very simple. The bitcoins that are lost can be considered as burnt and it directly reduces the active supply of bitcoins in the network.
So bitcoin becomes more scarce with reducing supply which gives it more value. If the bitcoins are recovered the active supply increases making the value slightly decrease.
It's all about the demand and supply.
896  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can someone explain how $1000 btc turned to $100 in wallet on: August 09, 2023, 03:06:48 PM
Hi all,

I was expecting a transfer of $1000 in btc.. I saw incoming of $1000 in my wallet, then i also saw $100 incoming from the same sender.

20mins later the $1000 vanished and i had only $100 left.. Can someone confirm what exactly happened? Im confused. I thought once a transfer is sent and you see it on incoming it cant be changed or modified?

You are partially correct. Once a transaction is made on the bitcoin blockchain it can be replaced with another transaction which uses the same input and a higher transaction fee.
The previous transaction should not have received any confirmation on the blockchain for it to be replaced. Once 1-2 confirmations are happened then it becomes near to impossible to replace that transaction.
This is why it is recommended to have at least 2 confirmations for the transaction to consider it done.

@pawanjain it’s all about testing your luck hence you should never give up on Freebitco lotteries and their lambo draws because you never know when you’ll actually get lucky and win the big price. Furthermore I don’t wager much these day’s hence I’ll count on winning more tickets via WoF because I have won few ticket’s while spinning the wheel so I consider them to be lucky for me when it comes to winning the GT.

You can't be getting very many, unless you're getting the bulk of spins from Premium. Myself even at Lv4 anf just one time tier away from max bonuses just get 9 per day. I would be really surprised if I get 100GTs when I redeem my stored spins. I am aiming for 3k spins before using them up but I will for sure share my results Wink

With 3000 spins, I think you will win 1-2 golden tickets but that will be it (but all depends on luck). I saved up to 250 WOF spins and won 1 GT, 2 times 390 RP and lottery tickets and the rest were all the base amounts. Not the best result but at least I won the GT.

And that's exactly why I made that comment on Juggy's post. He claims that he doesn't wager much and yet he gets "a few tickets" from spinning WoF, and here I am collecting for over a year and I only will expect 3 GTs on average lol

Something didn't quite add up over there Wink

It all depends on the luck because even I have received 1 GT twice with just few hundred spins over the year.

And that's exactly why I made that comment on Juggy's post. He claims that he doesn't wager much and yet he gets "a few tickets" from spinning WoF, and here I am collecting for over a year and I only will expect 3 GTs on average lol

Something didn't quite add up over there Wink

Maybe he was just very lucky! Smiley

I am at 11 GTs already, I can't say I wager much, it's just from daily playing... I was level 4, but I returned to level 1 and 12.5k FUN tokens. With FUNs from staking and buying here and there I am close to 15k already. I know it will take time before reaching level 2,3,4... I don't mind that, I just hope I can do it without more deposits, just daily playing/buying and staking.

Wow, that's some nice amount of GTs there. I hope you win.
899  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: ~If you must trade~ on: August 06, 2023, 09:27:20 AM
I was having this strong contemplation, between emotion and patience which factor affects traders the most. I know we have other factors that can make a trader experience huge losses such as FUD, greed, lack of contentment, indiscipline and high expectations and over zealousness.

But I had to narrow my scope to just the emotional and patient factors. I am sure many traders can relate better with this two factors compared to the rest this lead me to seek the answer from traders and prospective traders which do you think should be handled with more caution and between the two which has higher chances of helping a trader have at least 70% of total control of their profit cycle.

I think emotions play a major role in trading and if you can't control your emotions then you are bound to lose your money in trading.
If you control your emotions, you automatically improve your patience level and wait for the right time to enter and exit the market.
900  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Introducing: the bitcoin cycle calculator on: August 06, 2023, 09:17:41 AM
The thing is Bitcoin cycle is independent to the previous cycle because the event and circumstances makes every cycle unique and unpredictable using calculations. Your calculations is based on the chart of previous data and just projectting the future cycle based on how previous cycle form while fundamentals play an important role that affects the price behavior of Bitcoin.

Your idea is good and I might give it a shot just to have a base for the current cycle.

Not sure about the calculator mentioned in OP but I think BTC price chart shows us some patterns which are repeated.
If we observe carefully then we can surely find a pattern. After every BTC halving the price of bitcoin has increased.
This shows that the cycle of accumulation and then a pump is repeated near every BTC halving and we can use this to gain decent profits.
