Yes,

There's no other way to turn on the PSU unless you have a motherboard.

Really?  Try google.
882  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: DRILLBIT SYSTEM Miners - Thumbs (Temp NA), 8 Boards (0 left) on: November 23, 2013, 02:52:44 AM
So realistically we're looking at delivery no earlier than 12/2?

Just trying to figure out when I should take a day off for delivery and setup...

Barntech- any update on the US bound thumbs?  Did they go out with the others or did they go through Bobsag3?  I havent gotten any notice on tracking numbers and we already see people in AU and SA getting them and posting drillbit Pr0N so just wanted to know .Wink

Bobsag3- any update on the US boards? Do you already have them and started testing or are they still on their way to you? Do you have the lists ready to go?  Anything we can do to help?? Wink

Ditto.  It's Friday and we need an update.

I'm getting a little nervous at this point. Huh

I was hoping to receive notification these were at received by bobsag by now.

Update 22/11:

DHL are really being a problem now they have only just went and told me they will not due to these devices containing capacitors.
New delivery agent is being appointed as we speak and still stock should be here for the Tuesday.

Nothing ever runs smoothly these days

Cheers

Edit: Looks like it's not DHL Fault, China Customs apparently are on high alert looking out for Miners as they know the value and what they can produce. Hopefully will clear customs soon

Thanks

Stop spreading this nonsense or provide proof!!!  Wreaks of scam...

I want to know where you're getting this: "China Customs apparently are on high alert looking out for Miners as they know the value and what they can produce".  FUD.

How can I provide proof if I don't have the stock in hand you muppet as I SAID i will provide photos once stock is in hand END off.

Muppet eh?   Sounds to me like you're getting the run around. Good luck to all of you who overpaid in this buy.

Such an amazing community has been formed around Franko, by far the best coin for someone looking to get started.  Can't beat the stability and future potential!

This one should be able to handle 2 running on high without any issues, correct?

I'm running two cubes with a 600w psu on each.  If i set them to high one will trip the psu off right away and the other takes a few hours but turns off as well.  I'm running them on low so I don't have to keep on top of them as much.
-herener

Questions...questions...
- Fans: Are they loud? Effective? Able to be replaced?
- Do you think it's possible to add a fan to pull air as well and hook it up to an exhaust for the hot air?
891  Bitcoin / Group buys / BTC Guild - Team Drillbit! on: November 21, 2013, 10:50:52 PM
If anyone is interested I created a new team Drillbit on BTC Guild for those of us who mine over there!

Team Name: Drillbit
Team Pin: 0801 (the day the group buy started)

Hope to see some of you over there once you're up and running!
892  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] EU GROUP BUY - BI*FURY Fastes USB miner in the WORLD - 5.2 GH/s on: November 21, 2013, 10:08:11 PM
Why it is you cannot use "BITFURY" in your Subject?

It gets its name from having two Bitfury chips, hence Bi*fury

Fair enough.   Grin

Still absurdly overpriced.
893  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] EU GROUP BUY - BI*FURY Fastes USB miner in the WORLD - 5.2 GH/s on: November 21, 2013, 10:03:06 PM
For about 1 BTC you can get ERUPTER CUBE. 38 GH/s. If these will be about 0,1-0,15 .. than maybe.

So get yourself erupter cube and some PCI-e power supply, some mining proxy host, additional ethernet cable and voila you are ready to go.
Opposite to plug and play USB powered devices Smiley
no one is really forcing you to buy.
IRL you go to a retail store and tell the seller that his vegetables are too expensive? or you just don't buy the thing and walk away? why not act the same way on the internet.

Because it's easier to post and warn people than it is to stand in the doorway of a store and encourage people to leave.  Easy concept.

Why it is you cannot use "BITFURY" in your Subject?  You must be so close they don't want you to ruin their reputation?

 (also, it's "fastest")
894  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] EU GROUP BUY - BI*FURY Fastes USB miner in the WORLD - 5.2 GH/s on: November 21, 2013, 08:57:37 PM
Wow, you can get these for ONLY $63/ghs!  What a steal!   Shocked

Does anyone know where I can find those power cables that are posted in the photos above?  Link maybe?
896  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: DRILLBIT SYSTEM Miners - Thumbs $130 (Temp NA), 8 Boards (0 left) on: November 21, 2013, 02:19:36 PM
Are thumbs being sent separately from board orders? Are all coming from AUS or will USA orders come separately?

Thanks,

Read a few pages back and look for Barntech and Bobsag3's posts.

Thumbs shipping first at least for non-US orders is what I gathered.
bobsag3 is handling US shipping and will be testing each unit before shipping.  Lots of people chimed in saying they want bobsag3 to do a reasonable amount of testing of the units before he ships them to us in the US via UPS. Much better to wait 2 days more than to get a bum unit that we'd have to send back to Australia or China. Bobsag3 is based smack dab in the middle of the USA so it should only take a few days to get it from him after he's done with testing.

Bobsag never said he was testing each unit nor is that necessary....at this point I don't think anyone here wants to wait another few days while every board is tested prior to shipping.   I'll settle for an hour or to on a reasonable % and just expect that a few may need to be replaced.  I'd rather risk a few days of not hashing on 1 board than have to wait a few days for an entire orders worth of boards.

At this point we need some reasonable testing and boards in hand.  It would take WAY too much time for every single board to be tested and that time is very valuable at this point (difficulty rise is coming, again!).

899  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Need a PayPal refund for your BFL purchase? on: November 20, 2013, 07:56:25 AM
Paypal also declined to accept my refund claim and suggested I called Amex - the card I used to fund the paypal purchase. Fortunately I was just within a 6 month window and despite declining on a previous call Amex decided to accept the disputed charge. That was on September 23rd. BFL had 8 Weeks to respond to Amex and they did not so the chargeback was awarded to me today. Total was for 12 Single SC's 60's so not a trivial amount of money. During the process BFL shipped all 12 singles and I had to refuse them. That was tough as the chargeback was not completed. In the end it worked out and I am now at "breakeven".

Good riddance BFL. I hope you appear as a footnote in Bitcoin history as the ASIC company that sucked the most and in the end, proved to be completely irrelevant. As for the individuals involved, you are already irrelevant to my reality - not that you give a shit.

Awesome, glad you got your $ back!
