Greatly appreciated and glad it worked out for you!!
1062  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: PetaHash on: September 18, 2013, 12:08:36 AM
Congratulations to Bitcoin Network!

your kidding right? there are only going to be 3 or 4 big players left in the mining field by january

This is the biggest fallacy ever. If enough individuals buy a few GH/s each we'll get rid of big players entirely. They stand the most to lose. They're the most exposed to the risk. Who's going to take equipment down first? The guy losing $1000/month on power or the guy losing $1.80/month on power?

I agree with you, which is why we setup www.byteminr.com. Mining can easily stay distributed while companies like ours find a way to exist and resist the large corporate mining farms that are being setup.

Keep the network distributed and mine a few coins on platforms like ours - a true virtual rig service where we share the risk/reward equation with our customers as fairly as we can.

But, your prices are absurd.

Full Refund received thanks for answering my PM's and helping everyone. It is so great that BFL is not going to get over on all these people.
Thank you so much sincerely.!

Will be sending tip without question just moving a few things around waiting for confirmations ATM.

Awesome, another one added to the list!!
1064  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Need a PayPal refund for your BFL purchase? on: September 17, 2013, 03:56:05 PM
Holy hell guys...I just responded to 70+ requests for information and have at least 6 responses confirming refunds to add to the list.
I've gotta do a little work (yea, I've got a grown up job), but will respond to any more requests that come in around lunch time.  Keep em coming!!!

Glad to hear you are earning a nice side income through "refund consulting" tips.  Grin  Grin  Grin

I will say although I have received quite a few tips, this has also turned out to be quite time consuming so they are greatly appreciated.  At this point I'm responding to at LEAST 100 messages/day, some of them I can send a standard response to, others have questions that require a personal touch and with the 26 second delay to send messages it takes quite a bit of time out of my day.

It's all for a good cause though which is why I do it!

1069  Bitcoin / Hardware / Need a PayPal refund for your BFL purchase? on: September 16, 2013, 06:57:18 AM
Have you not received what you have paid for from Butterfly Labs?

As you've probably seen in the thread most, if not all requests are being rejected at this point but feel free to give it a shot.  Please note, I will not be replying to PM's asking for help/additional information at this point.  All of the advice I can provide is in this post.

The two email addresses below are for a paypal exec and exec escalation team that you can reach out to that has resulted in getting quite a few of us refunds.

Email: david.marcus@paypal.com AND executiveoffice@paypal.com

Make sure you explain the situation with BFL talking about their missed ship dates, still cannot provide ship dates and will not provide a refund although they have not shipped the product, etc.  Also include the information about your PayPal transaction and a phone number you can be reached at.

Some good advice from OleOle who recently received a refund.
A couple of remarks for those people who are still reading and still considering how to go about getting a refund. I cannot comment on what it's like to try to get a refund via Paypal after the 45 days from date of order, what I will say though is that there are plenty of examples on this and other threads where people have succeeded, so go for it, it is possible and it's your money. The dispute resolution process is basically you writing the circumstances of the transaction and non-delivery in 2000 words or less. After looking at some of the suggested templates and some of the observations on this thread, I decided that it would be far better me writing my own letter, rather than using any template. The reason for this is that by writing your own unique correspondence, it's obvious that you've taken the time to write your own portrayal of events, you're not forwarding a cut-and-paste response and you're letting Paypal know that the matter is serious and that you take the matter seriously. It's my gut feeling that many of the people being refused refunds by Paypal are those people you are just pumping off any old crappolla and not giving Paypal anything to work with. Tell the truth as you see it, be accurate with your dates, times, provide a link to Jody's shipping blog showing the delays. Be clear, articulate and tell it how it is. Remember you are in the right. Draft your response so that it's worthy of being actioned and if it doesn't get actioned the first time, be happy enough with what you've written so that you can forward it to more senior management in Paypal if necessary. Most people have been very reasonable, it's BFL that have been entirely unreasonable and broken almost every 'promised delivery timeframe' in the last year. Paypal are well aware of the situation, the refund comes from BFL, you'll get the email to prove it. Paypal will not be footing the bill, so your aim is to write clearly enough to provide enough ammunition that Paypal can insist that BFL offer you a refund. That's the task, that's what your letter to Paypal has to achieve. It's doable, so go do it, it will take less than one hour of your time. How many days, weeks, months have you waited?

If you receive the standard 45 day notice from PayPal READ THIS: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=295187.msg3350757#msg3350757

To everyone who received a paypal refund with lajz99's help.

Please support the rest of the community and visit the thread below.

Just because you have a positive outcome does not mean you can not still file a complaint with the FTC.

This is your opportunity to give something back, please spare 10 minutes of your time to complete the form.

1072  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Want a BFL PayPal refund? PM me. on: September 15, 2013, 04:31:19 PM
As much as I'd like to help out as many as possible lets not post in BFL forums to avoid drawing their attention.
1073  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Want a BFL PayPal refund? PM me. on: September 15, 2013, 07:06:40 AM
Since only one person has an issue with sending a PM to get the information that is how I am going to proceed.  No payment or tip required, I'm simply providing information on how I and others got a refund and that's all there is to it.

Whether you appreciate what I'm doing or not is up to you, end of story.  I will not be replying to posts like this in the future as there is no need for it.  The information is not being posted publicly and everyone seems to understand why, if you don't, oh well.
1074  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Want a BFL PayPal refund? PM me. on: September 15, 2013, 06:37:38 AM
lajz99:  I sent something to your Cryptsy.  My tradekey is 80f68e261a697f2f3ff994e81a08ddfe6a6ff0f8 .  It represents 1% of my order that was refunded by Paypal.  Thanks!

Glad to hear you got your refund!  I hope to hear of more tomorrow (although it is the weekend).
1075  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Want a BFL PayPal refund? PM me. on: September 15, 2013, 06:36:31 AM

He may not be doing it for the money , but he is hiding the how it is done?

This only suggest  ' I help you , you help me' type of deal. Put it openly and anyone can do it, if tipped great if not than its free. I was never too naive to order from bfl so I have no dog in this fight but making money off refunds looks like a good way of scamming the gullable.

I'm not hiding anything I'm just not posting it publicly and vetting out who I provide the information to so we ensure additional people who want refunds can obtain one going forward.

I also am not charging anyone for the information I've been providing and there are quite a few people who have obtained refunds and have not donated and all will tell you I'm not asking for anything.

Thanks for your input, but you must not understand how a scam works.  The only one winning here is those who get their money back from the ripoff that is BFL.  Whether people want to tip me for helping them to get their $ back is up to them.  Move on.
1076  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Want a BFL PayPal refund? PM me. on: September 15, 2013, 02:26:25 AM
This thread makes me  Grin (one of the few in this forum).

I'm so glad I'm able to help so many of you out!  For now, I'm going to continue sending information privately via PM rather than posting like I thought I might.  It seems to be working for people so lets keep it going!  (I'll save my rant on BFL for when everyone who needs help has been helped)
1077  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Want a BFL PayPal refund? PM me. on: September 14, 2013, 10:18:11 PM
Man, I just got back from a 66 mile bike ride and couldn't be more excited to see how many of you have received refunds!

For all of you who have sent a tip THANK YOU!  It's appreciated!

If you've sent me a message today I'll reply to you tonight!
1078  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Want a BFL PayPal refund? PM me. on: September 13, 2013, 11:25:16 PM
Well count me lucky, I sent request late last nite, no response from Paypal today. But I just got direct refund from BFL so paypal obviously did something Smiley
THANKS lajz99, paypal, and BFL !

Glad it worked out for you!!
1079  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Want a BFL PayPal refund? PM me. on: September 12, 2013, 08:13:43 PM
I'm really hoping the number of requests sent for a single company within such a short time span isn't the issue and they'll still get back to you guys.  If nobody hears anything within the next day or so I'm just going to post the information publicly and maybe THAT increase in volume will encourage them to act.
@ lajz99

Have you received any threatening emails from BFL or it's employees since helping people out with their refunds?

How do todays contact numbers compare to yesterdays 60+?

No, I have not had anyone from BFL contact me up to this point.

As of today, I've sent somewhere around 75-80 total so it's slowed down a bit.  I've been waking up to a whole slew of messages then it slows down throughout the day.
