1021  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Need a PayPal refund for your BFL purchase? on: September 30, 2013, 09:52:46 PM
LULZ, I've canceled/refunded it while back, yet right now, I've gotten a mail about package on the way. So (because I am such a nice guy) I've written them that that order is no longer in place and I was actually optioned to pay it again, via bitpay (I still cancelled it though).
a) They don't have info from paypal
b) They are fishing and hoping that someone will reorder it with immediate shipment.
---
It is sad that all of this wouldn't have happened if they would deliver "on time".

What was your order date?

I've got to disagree with the CoinEX push, they just don't have the traffic.  Why not Cryptsy?
1023  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Linux mining distro for the Raspberry PI - MinePeon on: September 29, 2013, 05:10:46 PM
Is it possible for someone to create an image for me that automatically runs bfgminer for blockerupters?  I'm just not able to figure it out and don't know much about linux.

Would be willing to send .1btc bounty if it is possible.  Shoot me a PM.
1024  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Linux mining distro for the Raspberry PI - MinePeon on: September 29, 2013, 02:59:25 AM
Are these still the most current instructions for switching to bfgminer?

Go to WebUI > Miner > Options and add these:
S   all
icarus-options   115200:1:1
icarus-timing   3.0=100

Now start bfgminer like this:
sudo systemctl stop cgminer.service
sudo systemctl disable cgminer.service
sudo systemctl enable bfgminer.service
sudo systemctl start bfgminer.service

I tried this and it kept trying to start and stop and finally gave up.

Possible to just have this added to the web UI?

It's time to ADD TEK!

^^ Agreed, is this coin dead or is there active dev pushing to get it on some trading sites?

Some advice required please.

I placed an order with BFL in late August 2013 as a result of their promise that they would be up to date and have all orders shipped out by "the end of September". Well, it's now almost the end of September and I've just checked my BFL account and it lists no change in my "processing order" status. I then also checked Jody's shipping blog of 27th September and the upgraded Jalapeno units I ordered are still back-logged to 28th February. That makes them a full seven months behind their 'promise' to deliver by the end of this month.

I was happy to take them on their word that they'd drafted in extra staff and resources and that they'd be able to meet their end of September deadline, however, this has now been shown to be completely unrealistic and yet another attempt to deceive customers and take advantage of their money and goodwill.

I used Paypal and I'll still be within 45 days for both the 5 GH/s unit cost and the additional 2 GH/s upgrade cost, what's the best way in your experience that I go about getting a Paypal refund please? Should I email david.marcus@paypal.com and executiveoffice@paypal.com immediately or should I be doing something else as I'm within the 45 days?

Thanks for any information that you can provide and kudos for helping the community like this, I have to say I was pleased and relieved to see your thread.

Smiley

Since you're within the 45 days you should still be able to file a standard claim via the website to get your $ back.
1028  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Alt. Coin you think will reach BTC price in one-two years? on: September 26, 2013, 11:50:37 PM
I'm a fan of ANC although I don't expect it to ever reach BTC levels.

Not many people take into account that there will (IMO) be SOME SHA-256 coin that becomes popular once all the current hardware becomes obsolete due to BTC difficulty going insane.  (ex. ZET, ASC, OSC)

Maybe you should make this a poll and allow for people to comment as well?
1030  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Would you recommend Cloud Hashing? on: September 26, 2013, 05:10:11 PM

the more i look into CH, the more it looks like a scam.

the payouts are inconsistent. and when you get them they look quite Ponzi-ish.

the guy that owns it only has one machine - if it goes - there goes your contract.

BFL is going to start their own cloud hashing soon. at least they own, and make, the hardware they will be hashing on.

not that i'm endorsing them.

Which single machine can mine at 2,445.50 GH/s?

I like blinking lights.

Update:

I added the email addresses to the main post, at this point I don't think it's worth trying to keep it private since so few people are receiving responses/refunds...

If anyone has any questions feel free to hit me up, however, I will not reply to messages asking what can be done when you don't receive a response.  I simply don't know and I'm not sure I have the time to find another avenue especially since BFL no longer does business via PayPal.

I'm glad so many people have been able to obtain a refund, however, this was very time consuming for me and I don't have an hour+ every day to continue to respond to messages when I could be working or trading.  Best of luck to everyone!
1033  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Need a PayPal refund for your BFL purchase? on: September 25, 2013, 04:51:05 PM
Still thinking about how to proceed...with BFL not doing business with PayPal anymore I'm not sure what more there is that can be done besides going the legal route...

It sounds like a lot of people are no longer receiving responses, unfortunately there's not much I can do about that.  Let's wait another day or so and see what happens.

That guy on reddit probably broke it with his greed (and love of beer).  He even got his own website listing down everything except the email address.

Yes, and that's likely the person who posted the link to that reddit post in this thread near the top.

To those of you who have been rejected, I wish that wasn't the case, unfortunately I have no additional advice at this point.

Apologies if I missed it but is there a way to simply reorder the pools or switch pools easily?

Next year I upgrade to Monarchs.

I believe you mean "next year I hope to upgrade to Monarchs".

This thread is titled "Pictures of your mining rigs!", not "talk about where you bought something"

Respectfully, where would your suggest we ask "Where can I buy that ?" if it's a result of posting a photo to this thread, if not here ? It's only natural.

I feel that personal messages are more appropriate for most of the questions asked in the thread, you've also got a better chance of getting a response unless it's someone who routinely visits.

I feel that you are not a mod and maybe should keep to yourself. We ask in here cause we ask all. Should we PM 40 to 50 people to get a question answered? Take a look, your remarks caused 4 extra posts in the thread that did not solve anything or relate to the topic. Stop cluttering our threads!

I don't care what you feel but thanks for your opinion.  I'm not the only one who has commented on this thread going down the shitter.

Here's another extra post for you!  "Hero Member", what a joke, you're no hero my friend.  Keep trying though, A for effort.

This thread sucks anymore...I stop by quite often to see pictures and details of mining rigs and see nothing but crap comments.

This thread is titled "Pictures of your mining rigs!", not "talk about where you bought something" or "talk about how big of a man you are".

I'm more than happy to moderate a new thread, this one has become a complete waste of time.
