Right now KORE is one of the best cryptos around.

Appreciate your realistic post and expect it comes form your Due Diligence.
For your Crypto Currency Investment.
KORE does not claim to be the best coin or a competitor to BTC.
BTC is what made KORE possible and we are thankful and supportive of BTC.
There is room for us all. Of course we realize what we have and are putting together
makes us a viable candidate for the top tier spot of coins and for the work already
completed based upon other coin and ICOs etc we could be among them now.
All in good time since KORE had been in Hibernation status for too long.

We aim for the stars.
If we reach a moon around Jupiter,... so be it!

Can you please remove your tweet about bitzure? It is a scam exchange https://twitter.com/NewKoreCoin/status/904141003455680512

I did not realize, Done.
Been under the hood of the vehicle too much lately.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

It´s not the first coin with TOR integration, but it´s a nice feature.

KORE is the first coin to fully integrate Tor about 3 years ago.
Please do your Due Diligence.

Being first even is not what it is about.
It is bringing an entire suite of security and Privacy products to a reality.
Apps, a cross platform Operating System a Smartphone and more.

Awesome News KORE Team!! Super job guys, wallet looks great, update is brilliant! The features you guys are planning is a breath of fresh crypto air  Grin ..really awesome.

Regarding the swap, I'm sure full details will be released to ensure the safety of everyone's coins.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm looking forward to the new KORE wallet to be out myself!
We only suggest you do not transfer coins to any address the day of the swap if
you want to be extra careful and are not monitoring the transition time.
It is as easy as updating their wallet and yours. The transition will be smooth and painless.
You keep your main files and all your balances will be in the new wallet in the exact same addresses.
The same goes for Bittrex.
A guide with instructions will be posted but for the most part it will be what I just mentioned.

MikeMike

This is really great news! So am I understanding this correctly that the swap will simply require us to download a new wallet and simply copy over our existing wallet.dat file? That would be REALLY simple.

I'm running a Linux Mint system, will we have access to source so we can compile our wallets for our machines?

Thanks again Mike for all the awesome work!

Yes, it is that simple, been tested and works.
I'm running Mint and the commands work on both Mint and Ubuntu.
Glad you are liking the KORE Projects!

I'm amazed you guys have kept this project going. I remember when it first launched back in June 2014 and was trying to capitalize on the whole anon craze back then. It didn't last long as the original dev left not long after it started. I think it's been through like 3 additional devs now or something. Anyway, Kore I think could be the only successful community takeover that I know of. Good job!
Not 3 additional, Just me...

Awesome update! Any word from bittrex if they will be ready to swap kore? It would be nice to get them on board and ready before it happens.

The Bittrex ticket has been submitted with 14 days notice and only requires them to load the new wallet.
We expect it to be the or one of the easiest swap updates they had ever managed.
There will be updates posted here and in the social media platforms.

Cheers!

MikeMike

Great news! So does that mean we don't have to move our coins from bittrex? Swaps always get me a bit nervous lol

Must be exciting times for you and the team and as far as I can see, the coin is doing well on Bittrex, so the community probably feels the same Smiley

I/WE can't tell you what to do regarding your coins on Bittrex.
The Swap was made to be painless and simple for them and the Community.
We must always be aware that unless anyone's coins of any Crypto Currency
are in out own possession there is not 100% ownership.

Announcing Swap from KoreCoin to Kore 1:1, New Wallet Release and Rebranding:

On the 14th of October 2017 we will be perform a blockchain transfer from the old Korecoin blockchain and start a new one,
along with a rebranding and a new development team leading us in a new and exciting direction.
Your existing Kore coins will be mapped 1:1 on the new chain and the transition will be smooth and painless.
Note: Bittrex will be closing our KORE wallet and stop trading the token to take accurate snapshots of balances.
If any KORE deposits you had sent to Bittrex are not settled (e.g. marked as pending)
by 6:00 PM PT, on 10/13/2017 (1:00 AM on 10/14/2017 UTC), you may not be credited with KORE.
https://support.bittrex.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001898671-Support-for-the-KoreCoin-KORE-blockchain-upgrade

KoreCoin Was initially introduced in June 2014 , with the following specifications :-

* Algorithm: X13
* PoW Coins: 1.2 Million
* PoW Block Reward: 450 KORE
* Block 3200 – 4000 = 1000 KORE
* PoW Timefram: 4000 Blocks
* Block Time: 60 Seconds
* PoS Minimum Age: 1 hours
* PoS Max age: 8 Hours
* PoS Interest: 10%
* Total Coins: 12 Million

KORECoin was a coin taken over, the Dev integrated Tor as well as SIP/PBX for in wallet VoIP calling to eventually include Video.
It is a coin central to privacy. The old Dev left the project. MikeMike took KORECoin over, built the KORE Team, renewed that Team,
integrated his ideas and main funder of the KORE Team Projects.

Current coin supply is roughly 2 M coins, these will be moved to the new chain and will be accessible to their owners
within the very first block, more on this below.

Reasoning for the Swap

1) The current code base it very old , so much so that attempting to update it would probably cause more problems than it fixes.
2) We wish to take advantage of new innovations introduced into the crypto space over the past 3 years
3) As we have a new dev team and the chain has had many developers, it is ideal to introduce a new chain providing a clean slate
for the development team to work with. The updated software and new chain would are key steps in the new direction Kore is taking.
4) Introduction of key features such as CLTV and CSV , as well as adequate scaling plans
5)  at the bottom of this page.

The New Kore Specifications :-

* Algorithm: sha256d Bitcoin Core v0.12.2.0-gec0afbd (64-bit)
* PoS Algorithm  PoSv3  *Modified for Security and Functionality, See “Understanding KORE PoS”
* PoW Coins: ~ 20 000
* PoW Block Reward: 5 KORE
* Block 4000-infinity = 0 KORE
* Block Time: 120 Seconds
* PoS Minimum Age: 8 hours
* PoS Interest: 15% - 30% *To be determined
* Total Coins: 12 Million

The first wallet release is going to introduce Masternodes to the Kore community.
The first release will also include the Bittrex trading window for KORE and eventually most all pairs, the Block Explorer,
KORE to USD conversion in send, Mining CPU Core selector slider, Opacity, BTC/USD and KORE/USD tickers.
The Tor Web Browser, SIP/PBX VoIP will be released in subsequent versions in fairly short order.
To entice developers, other skilled professionals and try to offset costs a maintenance fund has been created
that is allocated 10% *To be determined.
Here is a link to a video showing proof of development:
https://youtu.be/wpn_OAnzoBg

* Masternode Cost : 400-600 Kore *To be determined
* Masternode subsidy : 40% *To be determined

Pure Tor Masternodes/Servicenodes a World First:
Tor Masternodes are currently in testing and will provide services to users.
Tor was chosen to increase privacy of users as it obscures your IP enabling use of services without fear for privacy.

Obfuscating your coins from being tracked by a unique mixing feature by traditional Masternodes:
Masternodes use this function to automatically break up private transactions into indistinguishable  multiple identical transactions,
this adds complexity to the original transaction and obfuscates the proof of any particular amount and hides the IP
of those who mix the coins with you through their Masternodes.

Decentralized Governance by traditional Masternodes:
To guarantee the long term sustainability of the blockchain, the network keeps a portion of the block rewards, network subsidizes
approved proposals, the Masternode operators are tasked to act as stewards and invest in the maintenance and expansion of the network.
 This results in faster development and promotion, creating a cycle that benefits all involved.
Most importantly, this gives the blockchain itself a self-preservation mechanism that is beyond the control of any individual.

The system works as a decentralized voting mechanism, where budgets for specific projects are proposed, then the Masternodes
as a whole vote on them. Each project, if approved, is added to the total budget and paid directly from the blockchain to the person(s)
doing the work. With this, we can hire more core developers, marketers and other essential personnel
paying them directly after approval of the work in a decentralized fashion.

The KORE Roadmap:
Will be posted at the time of release of the new wallet on October 14th 2017.

Understanding KORE PoS:

Kore uses customized proof of stake. Using percentages rather than a static amount it ensures all users are treated fairly
for their contribution to the overall health of the network.

* X % stake per transaction  X*To be determined
* 100 blocks to confirm
* 8 hour maturity
* 50 Kore minimum stake

Minimum Stake amount Percentages are used as they better reflect and reward users accordingly, this prevents other users from gaming
and devaluing the currency by simply creating dozens of small transactions and creating hyper inflation. The 100 block wait time
ensures adequate confirms pass before coins are mature to ensure a higher degree of certainty. An additional 8 hour wait period is added
as a means of controlling stake rates and supply growth. A minimum stake amount is imposed as part of the measures to prevent micro-staking,
micro stakes quickly bloat blockchains eventually causing problems when chains have millions of blocks but are less than a GB in size.
X% of this is allocated to MN owners as a subsidy for their vital job of assisting in obscuring transactions and facilitating Instant transactions.
With time the role of Masternodes will expand as part of the development roadmap includes assigning them additional duties on the chain.

This post will be updated with any changes.
Thank you for your interest and patience during these exciting times.

Correct me if I'm wrong. (I mistakenly started writing Korrect me if... so funny).

But correct me if I'm wrong, but the OP says that this is the first coin with Tor integrated. But I don't think this is a new thing. Why would they say that?

Hi,

KORECoin was the first to integrate Tor into all wallet functionality.
A few have come by since then touting Tor and many are claiming as PIVX
to be privacy centric setup to:... "Use Over Tor and VPN".
Well,... nearly everything can be used over Tor but you have to install Tor
and in some countries that puts you on a list just searching for it.
With KORE it is integrated on all levels.
Not only that but it was integrated correctly.

KORE was also first to have VoIP integrated into the wallet
and the old dev made this portion completely closed source.
In this current legacy wallet the VoIP is no longer functional
and we have integrated it in the new wallet to work over Tor.

Please read the entire OP page and then,.. read it again.
Also read my signature...
There is too much tech now attached to the new wallet.
It would make sense to just post you the OP page....

Hello Fellas,

Happy friday to all.

Coinmarketcap updated the link for Kore website to the new one.

Wish a great weekend to everybody.

Tried to click on the link from Coinmarketcap and it gives a certificate error, then a 404 error.

www.kore.life site.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Looks like the issue is resolved.
The link works.
We did upgrade the certificate so that could have been the issue...

MikeMike

Thanks for the quick attention to this Mike. I'm currently running the 2.2.1.0 Linux wallet. Is this the most current?
The old devs version in the GIT is the most up to date one so you are fine.

We gonna have a good announcement, the team is working really hard behind the curtains.
Stop torturing us and get the news out already  Grin
LMAO!!!
If you only knew how much I want the information known!!!
This was not how we planed on things going but so be it.
I wanted to do a Ninja wallet release. Well,... KORE grows up!
Happening faster than I'm comfortable with and going with the flow.
I did my best to get this information out yesterday but
you know how these things go...
Been up all night and day,.. my new "normal".

This project is very interesting i was reading all about it and all the security features and products you're working on, also through the post in general.  Very impressive.  I think I can relate to the up all day and up all night remark hah Wink.  Looking forward to seeing how the development progresses.  Is there any sort of place where I can see development progress or timetables?  Or that doesn't exist yet/won't?

Apologies as a few of the Team working on something for this announcement had a planned banquet
and could not commit to finish up their end due to those bugs that delayed us up a couple days.
And up I mean "up", by nearly no sleep,... Those nasty buggars!....   Cheesy
Overall,... Our thought on it is, we hope you will view the slight delay will be worth it
once you get a sneak peek. We are regrouping to get this information out to you by midnight CST.
