901  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [3500 TH] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: February 04, 2015, 09:57:48 AM
I have another p2pool question. I am mining on  2 different nodes and I notice on both, the list of miners is always changing in which position my miners are on the list. Is this in someway tied to completed shares even if the shares don't meet the threshold of the difficulty to count as a p2pool share? I guess just wonder if there is a reason for the list to constantly be shuffling around?

Wink we are working on a mobile app so we can view the webpage on our phone on the go Also a quick contact forum so we can get alerts from the Miners if any problems happen with the pool... I will be posting it here shortly...

Happy Hashing!

That sounds great.

Is this how it goes if the pool doesn't find a block for a long time?

I just bought a miner and this is the first pool I've tried.
It's one of the biggest downsides to a PPS pool.  Unless the pool has a very significant amount of BTC held as a reserve there will be times the pool simply cannot afford to pay you because of bad luck.  Nobody talks about the elephant in the room, but there it is.

jonnybravo0311 your right but the pool had a nice reserve as far as I know, but the pools wallet was compromised 2 times and lost over 100+ BTC. I have chatted with the pool operator a few times and I believe him. Me believing him will not help him dig out of the hole of the payments after the 5 days of very bad luck and no blocks. But after finding 5 blocks in 3 days it seems the pool has caught up on payments again. I have been mining a little to check on payments as I really like a PPS pool with no fee as long as my payments come on time.

Is the pool down?

Mine failed over to other pools as well. It looks like it was not down for long.

I have a p2pool payment question. After the blocks were found yesterday I got paid both times then later in the day I received a couple very small payments? Not sure what the small payments were for?
Those are donations.  Some generous souls decided to spread the love.  Whenever my node hits a block of NMC, I convert it to BTC and send the entire proceeds out as a donation.  Since I only have about 4TH/s, it's rare (I've hit exactly two blocks of NMC, one when I found a block of BTC last April and another a month or so ago).  You, too, can donate to p2pool miners if you wish.  Hunterbunter put together a nice web interface for doing it: http://blisterpool.com/p2pdonate.

Thanks for explaining.

You need to ask this on the pools thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=49417.0

The pool is ran by a very good operator.
909  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [BitAffNet] How we're the #1 Bitcoin Mining Pool In The World (proof inside) on: February 02, 2015, 11:54:46 PM
That number is not all correct as the pool has a large amount of its own miners which I would think do not get paid and its coins just stay in the pool.

If that were true, there wouldn't be page after page of complaints about missing/late payments - amongst other things......

Nice to see s0br & co being as transparent as ever with updates & explanations here..... Cheesy

I guess what I meant by large amount  is maybe 10-30% depending on how much he has rented at anytime. I notice when payments are not coming on a regular bases that the renting of rigs is also absent. Also when I said I felt his miners coins stayed in the pool I should have said that I would think those coins are used to make payments or for his renting of rigs. I guess what I was trying to point out was that all the coins due for payouts are not 100% due to outside miners.
910  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [BitAffNet] How we're the #1 Bitcoin Mining Pool In The World (proof inside) on: February 02, 2015, 08:46:48 PM
Or you do it the easy way and go here: https://osticket.bitcoinaffiliatenetwork.com/payments.pl?global=true

97ish BTC pending as of now.

Very cool, that makes more sense..

Well I guess I was talking about how much BTC the pool mined and was waiting to confirm so they could payout payments. The pending payments is what the pool owes. That number is not all correct as the pool has a large amount of its own miners which I would think do not get paid and its coins just stay in the pool.
911  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [BitAffNet] How we're the #1 Bitcoin Mining Pool In The World (proof inside) on: February 02, 2015, 01:47:37 PM
I was paid a number of times yesterday, building up some now but overall it's been reasonable...

Thanks I see the pool has found 4 blocks the last 2 days so that should help.

Amount of BTC pending to be paid: 124.98032482

How do you pull that out? Looked around the site but don't see anything..

Received my back payout overnight so still pushing 60Th/s+ at them..

Just go to bottom of the dashboard page and you will find the list of blocks found and can see how many are waiting to get 100+ confirms so they can use the coins for payout.

913  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Where to mine. on: February 01, 2015, 08:40:32 PM
Hey guys.

This kind of thread might have been made a few times..

But, I want to ask if I have around 1-3 Th/s mining power, where should I mine?

Antpool? BTCguild? Slushs pool?

Where is it best to put the hashrate?

Or do you have other suggestions?

Thank you!

~Hamuki

I would find a p2pool node near you with zero fee and mine there. http://nodes.p2pool.co/

CKpool is a good pool to try but if you want a steady payment then a PPS pool as DFish.

I moved a miner back for a while to check and see if payments are normal yet.
916  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: NastyPoP vs Standard P2Pool on: January 31, 2015, 10:57:17 AM
Just a quick update... it looks like Nonnakip double-spent the coins and as a result I received the payout from last week's mining on NastyPoP.  Thanks!  I wasn't expecting the payout until tomorrow, so it was a nice surprise Smiley.

Anyway, now that the payout has been received, here are the results for the week of 1/16 - 1/23:

NastyPoP - 0.02833329BTC
NastyP2P - 0.03989456BTC
Expected - 0.0352BTC

I didn't capture the 7 day luck last Friday, so I don't have it to report unfortunately.  There have definitely been some growing pains with the adoption of ckpool as the front end for NastyPoP, and the payout reflects it.  Downtime, restarts, etc contributed, and the lower payout is the result.  Things have gotten a tad more stable this week, so we'll see how it stacks up tomorrow.

OP updated with the results.

Edit: you'll notice that I am not including numbers for a miner on my own node any longer.  Last week when I was traveling for work I noticed that the miner had gone down.  When I returned home, I found the miner had hashed its last hash. Oh well... it was an early batch S3 that's long since paid for itself.  Moving forward, I'll be running the test only showing the results of standard p2pool payouts vs NastyPoP with both S3s pointing to nastyfans.org.

Still dropping. Down to 35Ph now.

I moved all miners under one wallet now. I see the one that had shares still shows on the list but only the DOA shares. I guess it will show until it runs @3 days? It looks like Nolimitz84 with his 37TH is sucking up a good amount of shares!
919  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: NEW POOL NO FEE P2POOL ----------->0%<----------- Join us now! on: January 30, 2015, 08:58:25 AM
Yay block!

Hey Nolimitz84 glad to see you here. I remember you from that pool that went belly up.

But I received my first payment and was surprised that it shows as one payment in my wallet even tho I am mining under two address. Both address belong to my CoinBase account and it must be that since both payments are part of the same transaction that CoinBase treats them as the same?

I have all my miners running here right now. Also you may want to lock the other thread as they only want one thread per pool I believe.
