921  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PhoenixMiner 5.4c: Dual algo mining on AMD broken? on: January 02, 2021, 06:28:12 PM
Command line used:

Code:
PhoenixMiner.exe -amd -eres 0 -mi 12 -dcoin blake2s -pool us-east.ethash-hub.miningpoolhub.com:20535 -wal ################.#### -pass x -proto 4 -dpool BLAKE2S.eu.nicehash.com:3361 -dwal #############.####### -dpass x -log 0 -wdog 0 -cdmport 4001 -gpus 2

This is Windows 10, mixed rig with AMD & NVIDIA cards installed, Amd driver version 3110.7 (OpenCL driver version: 20.7-10/20.11.1)

No matter what value I set for -SCI PM always goes into auto-tuning and never reports any Blake2s hash rate.

This issue seems to be related to the DAG epoch, because I was able to run the excat same command at lower epochs.

Dual mining on Nvidia still works.

Can anyone reproduce?

Posted earlier this week, same issue with my amd cards. I have not received any response yet. Happened as soon as the epoch changed to 385.

No an 8gb card wont help 4gb cards unless you replace all the 4gb cards with 8gb.
Try lolminer ..but honestly windows is about done as far as 4gb cards.  Linux has a few more weeks but it too will succumb.
If you are having issues with hiveos sounds like you got a card or cards with issues.  Watch you rig if you see a card slowing down or failing remove it and try without it..if the others work fine you may have a card issue...or riser issue...etc...
922  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Log miner´s uptime Win10 on: January 01, 2021, 03:30:49 PM
The point is you will need an external meter to measure actual power consumption.  The computer cannot do this on its own.  You need to measure at the outlet what is being drawn.

Something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/BTMETER-Multimeter-Auto-Ranging-Resistance-Measuring/dp/B07C238GTP/ref=sr_1_58_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=data+logging+power+meter&qid=1609514922&sr=8-58-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEzN0JBNk9aVVJIR00yJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNzA5OTQ0MUVCUE45TVFSSkRUMCZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwNTM3NDA4M0NRUDZQWFRFVFVGMiZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2J0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=

Other wise its just an estimate on power usage....the mining software cannot measure fully all power being drawn on the system.

Had you been running Claymore with straps? If so, try "--mt 5" with t-rex, it will increase the hashrate.

Nice it improve my hashrate a bit compared to phoenix but the problem is the shares drop.
Any recommendation to increase shares or config for 1080ti? Tried to set it to intensity 20 and played around 19 to 22 but 20 is more stable good hashrate the only problem is the shares are drop.

Shares are what you get paid for....unless solo mining...then its only blocks.

try using 20.1.3.
thats been my go to for 5700xt.

What difference will that make?  Hes using a laptop with a 2gb vram gpu...a gt930.....  that dog will not hunt!

You need at least 4gb vram gpu.....and then it will only mine a few more weeks before you would need a 6gb gpu.......plus that is a mobile gpu its not a good idea to mine anything on that.....

Minergate....HAHAHAHAHA......go look at their pools.... they are horrible.  They have a slick interface for mining but the actual pool stats....ARE HORRIBLE....

XMR pool finds a few blocks a day
GRIN pool has never found a block
BTC pool Closed
ETH pool last found a block a year ago
LTC pool last found a block 2 years ago
ETC pool last found a block 7 months ago
BTG pool last found a block 2 years ago
ZEC pool last found a block 2 years ago

The newest mining pools are :

EOS
TRON
ICON

Not even coins you can mine...

927  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Analysis Claymore Alternatives after EPOCH 384 (25th December) on: December 29, 2020, 07:16:55 PM
Still studying what the drop is.  The rigs that dropped close to 10mhs are 13 gpu rigs...so it is going to be more than 2x what is seen on a 6 gpu rig.  What odd is some 4gb 570s are still running unaffected and others have slowed even on same miner.

Will take more time to see but definitely dropping with each new epoch.

928  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Analysis Claymore Alternatives after EPOCH 384 (25th December) on: December 29, 2020, 05:37:15 PM
Seeing a slow down on 4gb cards of 5-10mhs depending on miner.

What are others seeing?
929  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Analysis Claymore Alternatives after EPOCH 384 (25th December) on: December 29, 2020, 04:19:05 PM
Just under 10 mins until new Epoch on ETH DAG.

Please remain seated with your seat belt secure and your folding tray in the upright and locked position.
930  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What should a gpu miner have in his bag of tricks? on: December 29, 2020, 02:27:53 PM
Smart wifi switches are very nice. I can restart the rig remotely when it freezes. I monitor power consumption too.

They are god send!

Ive been using them for years and have saved me so many trips to the moning warehouse Smiley

Mine even have watt meters built in that log the power usage.
931  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Analysis Claymore Alternatives after EPOCH 384 (25th December) on: December 28, 2020, 11:52:57 PM
18hours to be in Epoch 385. Let's see what happen

Nanopool shows 19hrs 36mins.  But yes SOON!!! another decrease for 4gb cards.

What is special for 385?

Dag gets bigger.  4gb cards get slower.

Which miner, what memtweak settings?
I have 6xVega 56 sapphire REF. 56 bios, and max. is 50mhs. No run above 1070cc and /1027mc/mem 820v.

My Vega56 is on :
1090 core

0.812 v
Gets me 53.19mhs on mmpos non modded bios.

it seems that mmpos uses amdmemtweak timings by default ))

yes all that built right in Smiley
Where you set the smart tune(low, mid, high)?

I found it....took some digging.

Get the Y cable the plugs between the primary psu and mobo.  The third leg of the Y goes to psu #2 and turns them on together.

Couple of things:

Gpus should be on risers.

Riser and gpu should be powered by the same PSU...do not mix riser power from psu1 and power card with psu2.  Thats a nono.
Mobo and all its connections (24pin / cpu power plug and molex 4 pins should all be off psu1.

To test if it works you can do without the Y cable.  But you have to run both PSU on at the same time.

Cable is like this:

https://www.amazon.com/Qaoquda-Power-Supply-Adapter-Motherboard/dp/B078W4H16S/ref=sr_1_13?dchild=1&keywords=psu+y+splitter&qid=1608909114&sr=8-13

I have this for my personnel test rig at home with 9 cards + 3 psu EVGA 750W+ and no problem.

https://www.amazon.com/Multiple-Adapter-Connector-Genetek-Electric/dp/B0711WX9MC/ref=pd_sbs_21?pd_rd_w=pMZJD&pf_rd_p=ed1e2146-ecfe-435e-b3b5-d79fa072fd58&pf_rd_r=H0B9JSDPFGYP18RS88DB&pd_rd_r=50e02605-bd01-46e9-9e28-075b9762c62e&pd_rd_wg=gHccX&pd_rd_i=B0711WX9MC&psc=1

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPUQjWDSddE

same idea...but cable i show is cheaper by $3....

Or better yet....Spend $2.99 and link 3 psu for you Wink

https://www.amazon.com/Ports-Triple-Supply-Motherboard-Adapter/dp/B07CMK58RD/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=triple+24pin+atx+psu+adapter+cable&qid=1609012006&sr=8-1

I prefer the cable because it doesnt require any mods and doesnt leave any exposed pins to short against stuff.  But all do the same...

Why is the answer almost always Amazon / Alibaba.....  Smiley
939  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 5 gpu problem at the same time on: December 26, 2020, 03:12:03 PM
The mining Os’s will do the heavy lifting for you.  Not much to learn in linux for them.

i would add mmpos to the list.
I run Ethos and mmpos for my rigs.
Ethos has been solid but not updated in 2+years.   Still runs great.
Run mmpos on all the newer cards to get best results.

Good news is for all listed only need to instsll to a flash drive (usb thumbstick) to try and use.

Once you mine under linux hard to go back to windows,  Just so solid and reliable linux is Smiley

Hardware Requirements for Mining ZCoin
Mining ZCoin with the new MTP algorithm requires a computer with at least 8GB RAM. The video card should have a minimum of 6GB memory as well. The newer Nvidia cards are all suitable and any AMD card with more than 6GB onboard will work too.

Think that makes it clear you need 6gb gpu..you have a 2gb gpu.
