Or should be uncommon, they've been like 16% of the last 50 blocks, mutter mutter rabble rabble.

They are rare if sampled from a statistically significant number of blocks. But if you look at only a few blocks then they will be less rare than expected at times when we have bad luck and more rare than expected at times when we have good luck.

If you use myopenid.com to log in, then add another openid identity NOW. myopenid.com closes permanently this saturday (February 1).

To do this go to "my account" -> "logins" in the bitminter.com website menu.

Note: if you are using Google, Yahoo, Verisign, or any other OpenID identity provider, then there is nothing to worry about.
Well, if you use blogger/blogspot you should also switch. They are extremely unstable and their support department has been permanently shut down.

Are the Ice furys working on bitminter ?

With the Bitminter pool all hardware works. They're not supported in Bitminter client though. I believe they appear as a USB HID device rather than a serial (COM) port, so it would take some work to add support for these. Maybe if I get the time, but don't hold your breath for that.

2014.01.28 [06:25]  Request failed: bad credentials

I'm not sure why the block erupters are sometimes not detected. But it looks like either your user name or worker name is wrong, or both, so mining cannot start up.

New users these days get a worker automatically that is set up as a default worker. That makes specifying a worker name optional. However if you delete that worker and don't set a new default worker, then you must specify a worker name correctly.

The desktop is not frozen this time just that I'am not actually mining but the client shows that I'am .

What hardware was this with again? Are the devices frozen in the GUI? That is, can you stop them and start them again? Are there any error messages in the log?

Are any of the numbers changing? Accepted proofs of work? Rejects? Miscalculations?

To keep us stable could you not bundle the needed java files with your app ? Do you already ? It may have been a windows thing all of a sudden.

It requires Java 6 or higher and all other dependencies are downloaded with the app.

I try to keep it working with all Java 6 and 7 versions. I have some work arounds in the code that are not needed in the latest java 6 and 7 releases, but I keep them in there in case not everyone is always running the latest version. Have you discovered any java version (6 or up) where the client doesn't work?

It happened again  the client showing 3690mhps but I log onto bitminter and I'am not hashing anything ?

The window is completely frozen? No buttons work and no data being updated?

If this happens again, can you see how high its memory usage while it is frozen like this? Under Windows you can check this using task manager (hit ctrl-alt-del).

Yes, when starting to mine. The user name is fandyman. There's no worker name.

You deleted your only worker. You can't mine without a worker.

Go to "my account" -> "settings" in the website menu and add a new worker. Either use the worker's name in the client when mining, or make it a default worker. To do that hit the gear symbol to access the settings and turn on the "default" setting (topmost one).

Site down?

No. What are you observing?

I am getting a credentials error on startup. I haven't changed anything.

fandyman

(sorry if this is a double post...issues)

So not a website problem, but bad credentials error when trying to mine?

Which user name and worker name are you using?

Does the prepay perk/donation ignore high CDF? I seem to get paid even on all these real real high cdf value blocks.

Also: FINALLY some blocks came in!!! Hope we can get some more today. Got my new ants up and hashin'.

You get paid for every block. High CDF just means the block took a lot of work to find.

Can I use an Antminer with the Bintminter software?

Not yet. I'm working on this.

can someone please help?

It's looking for ASIC-based mining hardware: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison#ASIC

Yep. Antminer U1 support coming in next version. I hope to have a beta ready soon. Smiley

I'm trying to connect using stratum+tcp://mint.bitminter.com (on the admin page), and the noncerate is just flashing 0GH/s. I can't figure it out and it's very frustrating.

Try stratum+tcp://mint.bitminter.com:3333

What is the expected payout for this pool? I know that is a pretty broad question, but should someone expect to make a dollar a day, 5 dollars a day, etc?

I know it depends on your mining power and time mining, but is there a way to tell all of that?

Over time the expected average payout is the same as all pools, except for differences in fees, donations, merged mining namecoins.

Doc.  I have a transaction that appears to be stuck in the Chain?   Or at least I didn't get paid out on it.    I am a noob at reading the actual Blockchain.   From what I understand I should have this pay out at this point.   If you go to Tree view my addy shows up as receiving?

Here is the Transaction
http://blockchain.info/tx/e37236a78e155e975a7491bfd65a0a6bda2e24b06b71e92510db09ff90cfa059

Using Multibit as a wallet.   Have already reset Blockchain and Transactions

As you can see on blockchain.info the transaction has 360 confirmations (at the time I write this), and some recipients have already spent coins received through this transaction.

I know this happens often with Multibit that it "misses transactions". But this is normally fixed by resetting blockchain and transactions from the menu. Try asking the Multibit guys what could be causing it.

Hi.. I new to bitcoin mining. Currently have a usb asic miner with a speed of 2Gh/s. By watching the rise of the difficulty, it may not profitable at all because while calculating, i found that higher dificulty requires longer mining and the longer i mine with the same speed, the lower the income. So what should i do? Any suggestion?

As long as the income is higher than the electricity cost, it is profitable. Are you really at the point now where you are losing money to electricity costs?
936  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [440 TH] BitMinter.com [1% PPLNS,Pays TxFees + MergedMining,Stratum,GBT,vardiff] on: January 25, 2014, 09:59:23 AM
So we will only get paid the one block? Is this the reason you should pool hop? Or will we get paid the whole amount or just the one expected amount?

Some people think you should move out of the pool after you had bad luck, and go back after you saw other people have good luck. But that's not really helping you. That is NOT how pool hopping is done.

"Pool hopping" is a specific term that doesn't just mean switching between pools. It means switching between them at very specific moments to abuse weaknesses in their reward systems so you can get paid more than your fair share. The only BTC pools I know of where this is still possible is Slush and Deepbit. All other pools changed to reward systems where this is no longer possible. There may be a couple more vulnerable ones that don't appear on pool lists.

If you mine Litecoin though, there seems to be a lot of pools using the "proportional" reward system. You can pool hop the hell out of those and get paid way more than with normal mining.

Why does Bitminer not show my unconfirmed increasing, I just see a - and the balance isn't moving?

You get paid when we find a block. We're on an unlucky round now, it's been a while since the last block.

Also, if you use the prepay perk unconfirmed will always be "-", payment will happen immediately when the block is found.

Some more info on the payouts here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=27062.msg2769824#msg2769824
938  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BitMinter client (Win/Linux/Mac, BFL ASIC, Block Erupter USB) on: January 24, 2014, 11:33:44 PM
Yeah did that 10 times already, uninstalled driver then reinstall again.  only recognizes COM15.

Sometimes bfgminer picks up more of them than Bitminter client does. Worth a shot.

I'd try the blue/red fury support thread about the rest, especially the devices that don't even show as COM ports.
939  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BitMinter client (Win/Linux/Mac, BFL ASIC, Block Erupter USB) on: January 24, 2014, 11:06:03 PM
Yes COM13, COM15, COM16. and only BitMinter recognize the one at COM15, the other 2 said timeout  Huh Huh

Did you try unplugging and plugging them back in, then scan all ports?
940  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BitMinter client (Win/Linux/Mac, BFL ASIC, Block Erupter USB) on: January 24, 2014, 10:54:04 PM
Finally got one out of my three bitfury worked with BitMinter, still have 2 I just don't understand why they don't work  Huh Huh

Do all 5 show up as COM ports in Windows?
