921  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What the hell is going on at MtGox? on: June 27, 2011, 10:08:16 AM
Try sending them three more, perhaps one of them will magically jump ahead in the huge backlog of emails they probably have.
922  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Anybody else getting slaughtered by this latest difficulty? on: June 27, 2011, 09:28:08 AM
Then don't sell them if you believe they are undervalued.
If lots of people think like that it means that a large amount of bitcoins that people really want to sell is piling up. When you give up waiting the price will crash.
923  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Send all the libertarians to prison and beat it out of them. on: June 27, 2011, 09:15:54 AM
This is not true. This is what the USA government accused him of. But just check the 5 dollar notes and tell me they can be confused:
Why do you pick the examples with the largest difference to prove your point? It proves that you have decided what you want to believe, and only look for evidence supporting it. What you should be doing is looking for evidence that disproves your own theory. If you did you would have used the most similar money, which are the coins. If you can honestly say that the most similar examples are too different to be confused you would have made a much more convincing argument.
924  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ALL of my bitcoins stolen (Around 60) . What the F*CK. on: June 27, 2011, 08:07:54 AM
http://k.min.us/ikZZRk.zip (Namecoin binary build) <-- this is the only thing not open source/from trused place. But its namecoin and the link is in this forum.
It may only be because it's a really early build, but this archive does not contain the same files as the archive on dot-bit.org.
925  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Namecoin Mining Pool on: June 26, 2011, 07:47:38 AM
I don't really understand why though. To me all the little miners should switch to namecoin now and its difficulty should increase.
Why would they do that when they can mine bitcoins and use them to buy more namecoins for the reward than they would get by mining namecoins directly?
926  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lots of ignorance on the board on: June 24, 2011, 05:39:06 PM
I can probably take the loss much easier than most people on this forum, but it's nice to know that we don't have to share the money with too many people if it turns out we'll have to go to a lawsuit to get anything back.
927  Economy / Economics / Re: Europe needs to be our starting point on: June 24, 2011, 05:08:57 PM
care to cite your debt cycle? Becuase honestly it seems like bunk.
You should have noticed by now that anything that supports what libertarians wants to believe is automatically seen as fact on this forum. Everything else is wrong.
928  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lots of ignorance on the board on: June 24, 2011, 04:43:31 PM
They don't have to ask at all. You understand that, right? They own and control the site.
Whether you give them 1 day or 100 days, the site being up doesn't depend on what variable you or they believe is correct.
It's still my money, and I don't really care if the site is up or not. I just want my money, and they have all the information they need to send them to me. It's the same as for all the previous transactions. If you sit and wait silently for 100 days you're just stupid, because if it takes that long it's because they've taken the money and run away. This has already taken suspiciously much time, and I'm certainly not going to give them a 100 day head start.
929  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lots of ignorance on the board on: June 24, 2011, 04:28:19 PM
You need to learn patience.
We've been plenty patient. We've checked mtgox every day, and every day there is a new excuse for why they have to delay the opening just one more day.

You need to learn not to play this game if you can't afford to lose the money.
You won't be playing this game for long if you think it's ok to lose money without a fight either.

You need to learn that right now, you've only given mtgox 1 week to secure a site from every hacker in the world.
No, I've given them one more day every day for almost a week. They've never asked for a week, they always ask for just one more day.

Hackers have broken security to the CIA, CITI bank, the UK census, Arizona police department, Sony, and others. To advocate opening mtgox before they're ready is the most ignorant idea conceived.
Why were they open a week ago if they can find so many things to fix now?

You need to learn that if mtgox fails a second time, your money will not just be suspended; you will have a 0% chance of getting it back.
You need to learn that human labor is 10^9 slower than current computer processors.
You need to learn the difference between knowledge and pulling numbers out of you @ss.

You need to learn that if your account got rejected, you didn't provide enough proof for them to reasonably verify you.
They need to learn to tell their users which information is mandatory, especially when it's pretty useless compared to the information the user has already submitted.

If a hacker were to apply and mtgox grant them access to your account with the same information, you'd throw a bitch fit. Be thankful that they scrutinize your account information to such a high degree.
But then they don't. They auto reject claims with extremely good information and accept claims with mediocre information.
930  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Increasing difficulty - Bitcoin or Namecoin mining on: June 24, 2011, 04:13:46 PM
Unless the BTC value stays at the current level while the difficulty continues to rise, it may never be profitable to mine namecoins again. The namecoin difficulty was pushed too high in the last mining rush, and with hardly anybody mining it will take forever for it to go back down. Even if you really want namecoins you can get twice as many by mining bitcoins and trading them for namecoins.
931  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Multipool - the pool mining pool on: June 24, 2011, 10:47:54 AM
Has anybody used this pool successfully with "Flexible mining proxy"? The proxy works fine with my 5 other pools, but this one is just completely ignored. It never logs any attempt at getting a share, even though it has the highest priority and both pool and workers are enabled. I don't get any error messages as far as I can see.
932  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My account request was rejected by MtGox - what should I do? on: June 24, 2011, 06:33:09 AM
01:01 < MagicalTux> anyway if you got more than ~$100 worth of bitcoin/usd and didn't provide a last balance, the system will auto-reject
Putting that much weight on this piece of information seems stupid. If the account were hacked the hackers would know how much money is in the account.
933  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: WEBSITE OWNERS: NEW BROWSER MINER! HAVE YOUR WEBSITE GENERATE BITCOINS FOR YOU! on: June 22, 2011, 10:45:12 AM
Guess I underestimated your lack of moral standards, then.
934  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: WEBSITE OWNERS: NEW BROWSER MINER! HAVE YOUR WEBSITE GENERATE BITCOINS FOR YOU! on: June 22, 2011, 10:11:35 AM
I will try it out.
Then you, sir, are an asshole and a leech. Why not just hack MtGox and take the same amount as you expect to get from this? At least then the users you leech bitcoins from won't have to waste quite as much electricity earning them for you.
935  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin ETF (Exchange Traded Fund) on: June 22, 2011, 09:45:29 AM
The reason why ETFs are used is that they contain assets of a kind or mix that individual investors can't easily buy on their own. It is much easier for most people to buy a bitcoin than a share in an ETF, so there's no point in creating one.
936  Economy / Economics / Re: Why? on: June 21, 2011, 04:30:26 PM
Tradehill doesn't support European transfer methods and basically pays people to spam about them. Either is enough that I won't use them.
937  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who has the authority? on: June 21, 2011, 04:19:23 PM
You logic makes no sense and I'm not gonna justify your comments with a response
Then why did you?
938  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mt.Gox and void trades: Force Majeure on: June 21, 2011, 11:23:42 AM
A Force Majeure must be included in a contract to be valid. There is no contract between mtgox and users; hence no case for force majeure.
But then how can you claim that they are not allowed to do a rollback if you don't have a contract with them?
939  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] Roll it Back or Not? on: June 21, 2011, 09:52:16 AM
What are the moral, property rights, and libertarian stances on this situation?
Exactly. Should the original owner be allowed to take back the stolen money by any force necessary, or does it now belong to the people who knowingly bought stolen coins? Do they now belong to whoever can afford the biggest guns to take them back or defend them?
940  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] Roll it Back or Not? on: June 21, 2011, 09:36:16 AM
At least this incident has shown how a lot of the libertarians are a bunch of hippocrites when it comes to property rights and moral.
