You guys think were starting to see a legit increase in demand here or is it all still manipulation at this point? You do a search for dogecoin on twitter, and the amount of mentions is going through the roof right now.

For the record: I'm mostly libertarian, I think we'd be just fine if we replaced 99.911% of regulations with voluntary, private, market-based solutions. But that ain't gonna happen any time soon.
That's good to hear! But honestly, that they want to talk to you is simply scary. Afterwards, you'll need to tell us what it was like to be surrounded by Sith.

Good point. (And thanks for the input.) We've got m.howtodoge.com in the works for a mobile site. (It's live, but not "ready".) The problem with the "optimal" solution is that it isn't general. The purpose of How to Doge is to introduce people to Dogecoin AND the broader world of crypto currencies. Sort of using Dogecoin as a "gateway", if you will. We've tried to limit any complexity and keep things as basic and as general as possible. With specific online wallets, you run into the problem that every site is different, and people then run into the problem of "oh, this is different than..." The QT client is common to every currency (or the vast, vast majority at a minimum), so while the QT client may not be the best, it is the foundation wallet that people can expect. Hopefully we'll get more information up on the site and rework some of the content to allow more techno-savvy people to hop on to more advanced paths, like using an online wallet, etc. So while an online wallet might be easier, it's still not a general feature of most currencies, and the dilemma then rests in how to balance general principles/features of crypto currencies with the easiest/optimal solution for most people to use. In any event... the project is ongoing, so we'll add more as time permits.

So, he succeeded in stealing 90,000 DGB from a mother of three - a joyous occasion!
Did you guys change your passwords when I posted to change them...? ;(
Sorry - never saw that post. Threads get too long, and I just can't keep up with every post in every thread. FYI - I use unique stupidly complex passwords for every individual site. There's not a hope in hell of it ever being brute forced. I'll change once you've managed to get the pool back online.

Wow. Network hashrate is down to 4 MH/s or so. Seems kinda rough going here.

Your previous experience is mistaken Hahaha! Very much true in this case! Thanks for being on top of this!

Lost nothing That said, I did put the site into maintenance mode and froze auto-payments until I can get to the bottom of this! Reviewing transaction logs as we speak. Well, in a word, wow! Half the time I need to contact a pool, the contact form is broken. FYI for everyone else - She got back to me by email as well! Impressive.

It looks like the get-by.com pool is compromised. I just checked my mining in the dgb.get-by.com DigiByte mining pool twice - once about 15 minutes ago, and again just a few minutes ago.
My balances were zeroed out and this address was in my control panel:
D5kHqmjyfSvDkwcAfaAbW9epAZD5ge1gD9
I never entered it. This machine hasn't been compromised, and I've never even set up the DigiByte wallet.
Also, the automatic payout was set to 1 coin. I never do that.
It looks like the dgb.get-by.com mining pool server has been compromised. Might be a good idea for other people to check and see if this has happened to them.
I've emailed them, but from previous experience, I never get responses from mining pool operators. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=413334.0Lost everything.

“How to Doge?” ( http://www.howtodoge.com/) is a new site that aims to introduce new people to Dogecoin as an entrypoint to the world of crypto currencies. Focused on non-techno-savvy users, the site gently presents easy steps to help people 1) get a wallet, 2) get some free coins. We’d like to invite the crypto currency community at large to send friends to “How to Doge?” as a fun and simple introduction to the crypto world that we all enjoy here.

Just FYI... Collecting coins in Cryptsy is a really bad idea. Some coins require quite a few to actually send. So, if you have "1" coin of some alt coins, it will be forever trapped in Cryptsy. You need to collect them in a wallet - not an exchange.

Thank you!

Also giving free coins to all the users that register, incase they want to test the site out without playing with their own money!
Just post your alias here.
Could I get a few to give it a spin? My there alias is "Renegade".

If a currency isn't on BTC-e, I'd be very skeptical about investing a significant amount. You don't want to be left trading on Cryptsy... Good luck though. I hope it shoots to the moon for you, but mostly for me.
