921  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1 in a million on: April 27, 2017, 11:11:04 AM
being one in a million is one of those interesting topics in bitcoin if you ask me. we all know that there will only be 21 million maximum bitcoins available (ignoring the number of coins lost).

so if you have 21 bitcoins you can be one in a million.

now we all know there are 7.5 billion people in the whole world and there is a very limited supply of bitcoin available.

The following is the cost of being 1 in a million throughout the past years.
* bubbles are ignored and price is average

Year|21BTC cost
2008-2010|Practically free!
2010|$3.7
2011|$84
2012|$188
2013|$2,200
2014|$9,030
2015|$5,670
2016|$12,117
2017|$21,210 Today's price

when you look at things like that, they seem pretty ridiculous that once you could be 1 in a million with only 3 bucks but today you have to pay 21 grand to be 1 in a million
it will be hard now to become one of those who hold 21 bitcoin
it only possible if you will inviest or your an early adopter when the price is low
922  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how strong is bitcoin really? on: April 27, 2017, 11:05:49 AM
We know that bitcoin is strong and all the wallets have milletry grade security but one of my stupid friend today said that maybe someone can hack it with just a calculater because with math and correct formulas we can even predict gambling bets if that is possible then maybe there is any chance of this
it strong and it keep stronger in term of security it will only be possible for your friend if he/she have a better knowledge than the thousand computer that keep on calculating bitcoin network
923  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What type of wallet do you use? on: April 27, 2017, 10:58:33 AM
There is a thread about recomendations for the best wallet to use, but not all practice what they preach, so this poll is to see what people are actually using.
I understand that some people use multiple wallets of different kinds, so this poll asks which wallet is most used, this can be measured either by quantity of bitcoin or ammount of transactions.

if people hold not much bitcoin they usually use web wallet or exchange wallet
but if you they hold a lot they use Wallet for desktop for security and peace of mind

924  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why should people use Bitcoin? on: April 27, 2017, 10:53:22 AM
Bitcoin is the future of money, or so they say.

I would like to hear your opinions on Why should people use Bitcoin?

we cant say that bitcoin is the future money
but maybe just an alternative for atm card or something
we already using physical money for a long time so i think it will be hard to change it
925  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 21 millions people to become millionaires are being created in public on: April 27, 2017, 10:49:59 AM
Only 21 millions people out of 7+ Billions people to become millionaires are being created in public

You've heard it right. There are currently 21 million millionaires are being created in public.

Hint: 21 million bitcoins.
it will not make 21 million people millionaires because some hold more than just 1 bitcoin

928  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is Satoshi Nakamoto? Is he worth over $10 Billion USD today? on: April 04, 2017, 08:17:24 PM
Who is Satoshi Nakamoto?
Where are his Bitcoins?
What is  his Bitcoin address?
Is he worth over $10 Billion USD today?

http://www.criticalblast.com/articles/2017/03/24/search-satoshi-nakamoto-who-bitcoins-enigmatic-creator
satoshi is the one who create bitcoin mine bitcoin early days
but the coin and possible coin he have still not move until now
we can say if he still have the coin there a possibility of sudden crash in the price
for his bitcoin address you can see it in blockchain and start in block 1
as of now if they say he hold 1million btc its worth more than $1 billion so we can say that he worth $1 billion today
929  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin needs altcoins because ... on: April 04, 2017, 08:03:25 PM
...

- Alts work like a testnet for bitcoins (looking forward seeing Litecoin with SegWit)

- Once an alt feature looks working it might get adopted no matter onchain or in a side chain. (RSK)

- Alts mostly need bitcoin to trade and some bitcoins might be always reserved / locked for this.

- Alts might help to generate a closed bitcoin economy

My favorit comes here:

- Alts work like an infinite fear generator (Hydra) against any try of regulators to bring bitcoin down, since there are too many to kill and its very easy to just create a new one (like a Hydra cannot be killed by chopping off some heads, even the biggest one!) > crypto world is anti fragile and it will stay on this solar system from year 2009 on.

Any other things missing here?
alt is needed because its one of the reason why bitcoin keep growing one of the thing is trading
930  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In what situation would Bitcoin die? on: April 04, 2017, 07:58:07 PM
How and why would the end of bitcoin (and any other cryptocurrency) occur? Value decrease? Legality issues? Different technology/ideas to supersede it?
as long as many user use bitcoin to buy and accepting for their product i think end of bitcoin will not come
we can only say its the end when bitcoin stop working properly

932  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Set Decent Fee, 2 Hours Later 0 Confirmations on: April 04, 2017, 07:53:06 PM
The wallet receiving these transactions is https://blockchain.info/address/1HsEpgYU4U8GJna6SeQjAyjydZQJnohMjP
I'm not sure why they haven't gone through yet and could use some help, thanks in advance.

I was also looking here: https://bitcoinfees.21.co/
and noticed that the fee the sender used was in the slowest "channel"
usually when your transaction is too long use viabtc Transaction Accelerator https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/
933  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will happen when 1 satoshi is $ 1? on: April 04, 2017, 07:47:37 PM
What if bitcoin gains much more value than you anticipate? So what happens when 1 satoshi reaches the price of 1 dollar?
What kind of arrangement is made if payment is requested as Cent? Can the bitcoin core be modified?
if that will happen in the future
you will start to think if you will send bitcoin or not because of its fee
