Let's keep it simple for starters. We could really use a hint as to why returns are so strongly dependent on the size of individual deposits, if not for the reason documented in the Currin Trading Ponzi (http://web.archive.org/web/20091026234156/http://geocities.com/currintrading/ On a side note, the text also documented neatly why an operator rarely replies to garbage like this).

An interesting read at least... Here's the link to the second page if anyone is interested.

@Vandroiy
I think everyone is trying to say: WE ARE AWARE OF THE RISKS! I for one am small time when it comes to my bankroll, and I enjoy the excitement of weekly interest payments and the allure of "doubling up" with the PPT's. If for some reason I loose, God knows it won't be because I wasn't warned. Let us have our fun in peace.

Thank you.

Thanks for the 2nd link! I was so disappointed earlier.

Thank you, Vandroiy, for your well thought-out opinions.

I would sincerely like to read from others who think BTCST is a ponzi. I think/hope there is very little chance of being flamed here (the main BTCST thread meanwhile is a tank of piranhas). Please no flamers. I have said many things I regret in discussions on these forums. But I will not argue here at all.

Please pm me if you would rather not say in public.

Edit: disclosure: I have been blinded by greed. All funds permanently withdrawn from my PPT. I have made a complete fool of myself changing my mind so many times, to such extremes. I read the EVE Ponzi link provided by Vandroiy on the BTCST main thread, and i finally woke the fuck up.

Thanks for the aquatic ape bit. Never heard of it.

Actually, now that I think about it, I think I came up with it on my own one time when I used to get high.

fatigue is my beatiful wife of 9 years. We have two children together. Chester and Flea. Flea loves soccer and was conceived out of wedlock, but she doesn't know that yet. Neither do my parents. Chester isn't the sharpest knife in the book, but he has a lot of friends who help him with his school work. We've had our ups and downs, but overall it was worth it. Love is more than just the butterflies you get during the first three months. Love is a decision to commit. Flea pretty much made the decision for us.

Wilco, Nick Drake, and Vashti Bunyan never get old to me. I like folk, Brit folk, Americana. Anything Vincent moon has featured. Also a lot of that indie shit and some electronic (mostly AnCo). Occasionally some post-punk revival. Various rap artists... Currently entertained by the golf wang. But yeah, Wilco takes the cake by a mile. Saw them in Milan earlier this year. Obviously, I'm bored as hell right now.

I will have free power from January to may, but I have never done any mining. Would you recommend jumping in the game at this point?

960  Other / Off-topic / So I told my father about bitcoin. on: June 29, 2012, 10:53:54 PM
And I think he may start buying about 100 dollars a month of them from me for diversification purposes, onto a paper wallet. I tried to explain the whole system and he was very interested (and extremely confused). His biggest reservation was bitcoin's grey legal status and it's use on silk road etc. But he was fascinated at them same time.

Does anyone have any success/disaster/funny stories about explaining bitcoin to non-technical people?

P.S. (just a side note) This conversation took place on the drive to purchase my first loan-necessitating vehicle. I went to the bank with my dad, and we got a 5500 dollar loan at 3.093 percent APR for 36 months (he cosigned). This will be my first financial venture to establish a credit score. I told him that I could have (at least) applied for a loan in bitcoin, and he was amazed. That's a damn good APR though.
