This allows the wallet to sync from the bootstrap.dat, boosting syncing speed. You have to be careful with this sort of thing, it could be used by some as an attack vector. Please elaborate? Not sure if you're alluding to the auto bootstrap idea or the bootstrap that I posted; in any case before running anything on here you should really do an antivirus check no matter where it comes from or who says its good. It's easy to make your own fork and distribute it through a package. A coin could find itself forked before anyone knows what's what If it was hard coded into the wallet to download from a set trusted address only, it should be fine. |

As of now, vTorrent network is currently at block number 999,9xx and will be reaching block number 1,000,000 very soon.

a 0.8.1 client is currently connected however this isn't reflected by cryptoguru for some reason.
There are around 8 peers at the moment which is the most I've seen on VTR for about forever.
The 0.8.1 client is only synced up about 60%.
Looks like some testing is still going on, hope dev finishes up soon. |

Please do not worry about that as all of the client running 0.8.1 are getting over 6 connections most of the time.
There are some problems in building Windows client since version 0.8.1, it is compiled with 0 errors but still get dozen of linker issues.
Once we get that problem solved with no other issue, 0.8.1 will be officially release to public.

The only thing I've witnessed is on here: http://cryptoguru.tk/NetworkInfo/index.php?Currency=VTRI've seen a few clients turn up as 0.8.1 and then change back to 0.7.2 and there is a fresh one in the list which has no version information (the last time that happened it was previously 0.8.1). Obviously its silly to read too much into it other than to say that it looks like work is still going on. Thanks for sharing this info. It just validates my assumption. Seems like the client is still undergoing beta testing. And I think the Dev has a good team of coders and beta testers involved with him which is great. P.S. : The price is now is just really cheap. With the right form of marketing, and since this coin is unique from all the rest, it can easily get listed on Poloniex! You see the shit we had to put up with over the last 19 months, it does test you. Keep yourself busy, draft a press release for torrent freak. When the vTorrent does get a press release on torrent freak, I'm expecting a surge of new users and investors, just think about it, a whole new crypto eco system based on torrents, potentially millions of new users, damn that's big! How could that happen unless people starts beta testing the latest client which suppose to be working with that torrent feature? Once tested and running, press releases and promotion will just be easy and not only on torrent freak. Waiting on dev for that one.
