Stamina really was an issue for Magsayo and it did affect his performance last night plus the fact that he has to burn that extra pound in the weigh-in, really take a toll on him.

In fairness to Figueroa, he fought very well and deserves that shot of the WBC 126lbs title, him and Vargas is a good fight in the making.

For Magsayo, back to scratch for him and I think it will take a longer time for him to fight in a champion fight as he will be campaigning in the super featherweight division which for me is a tough one for him as he needs to bring his power to create a stir in the 130lbs category.

As for the second game, i think it is a high scoring game because they already score 151 points at the end of the third quarter but i have bet that it won't go over 227.5. There's a high chance that Converge will lose this one as their import's offense is very predictable and the Gin Kings have guarded him well, at the moment he has only registered 4 points in this game.

I definitely agree that Figueroa deserves that win but i don't think the gap on the scorecards is justifiable. In the unofficial scorecards of the commentators, they scored it 114-112 in favor of Figueroa and if not for the point deductions, it could have been a draw in the unofficial scorecards and that point deduction by the ref is also questionable as he did not warn Magsayo not to hold or whatever that warrant a deduction if he keeps on doing it.

Anyways, that's boxing and it's understandable that the ref and judges will favor Figueroa as he is more popular in the US, also Mark Magsayo was not so impressive in that fight.

Some said that being overweight and drained later could have an effect on his strength which I think is the only advantage he had in this fight so if that happens then Mark Magsayo is bound to lose, not a good start for him.

This is a sign that Mark should go up in weight if ever he could overcome this hurdle.

Congrats mate, that was a big win for you there. There was not much defense on that game thus it resulted in a high-scoring ballgame, they even scored 70 points in the fourth quarter when that was supposed to be the quarter where players are already tired and will just play half-court offense.

Just like the OP has said that gambling is neither good nor bad, I agree with that. Mark Magsayo should be able to hurt Figueroa in the early rounds because that way he would take out the confidence of the latter to engage as the fight progresses. We all know that Figueroa has a granite chin so I'm not so sure if Mark could KO him unless he could land those bombs with blinding speed. Also rooting here for Magsayo and I'm hoping that could score points in the early rounds as his opponent is a slow starter, that might make the difference in this match.
