because the current exchange has very low trading volume while on yobit the wallet still maintenance

XMG is a classic, here's to hoping there can be some movement should just relaunch this, do a swap or something the chain is YUGE after all these years, and the PoW algo a tested total loss imo the algo needs to be something long term and stable, as it is now people keep forking the chain by making a GPU miner every few months ; / due to this most major exchanges dropped magi as it was too much of a headache with the forks just make it MTP or some super mem hard shit that is good for gpu or something  MTP, or Cuckoo Cycle are mem hard that kills all light miners. Being hard on mining will disable lightweight devices. |

Hi. How many coins is the optimum for proof of stake? And how to set up this on a linux computer? All I have ever set up for magi wallets is just a gui wallet which doesn't take much setup.
About 500 ~ 1000 XMG per transaction is the target of design. |

Not sure what happened, but I came back from vacation and noticed I had stopped staking. My wallet shows a balance of 65.2 but the block explorer shows my real balance (and the balance I was staking with). https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xmg/address.dws?943uQprgXxp7X316BrqGVvNNqhdrKiTD9r.htmI already dumped my entire blockchain and re-downloaded it through the wallet. @crackfoo Thanks for setting up the pool. PoS is not working here, several days passed, weight is decreasing, no stake.
how much are you staking? How many conformations do you have? I'm using 250 and it's staking every 50 -55 hours. I'm staking 346 in pieces, 25...50, most of them ~35, several days ago weight was ~1000, now it is much less, confirmations in many pieces passed 10000 and... nothing. Strange, it was better earlier. I bought "some" more XMG at the current low, and started staking with all my coins(no more short term trading). It works pretty good and the gains seem to be more or less constant. And needs MUCH less energy than my mining setup. The gains are lower, BUT if you calculate the energy costs, it's a neat setup (and even more if you think of holding XMG long term). Two thumbs up for Magi's POS. The network get consolidated since update and network weight increased, so does the PoS interest. |

I managed to get past my previous problem, and got my P2Pool running after many little issues, but I have another problem now lol.
P2Pool connects to magid and hands out shares correctly to my workers, but when I finally get a block it says it is generated in the P2Pool frontend, but doesn't appear in chainz.crptoid. magid is sending an error when the block is sent ..

I checked on cryptoid and the block version is 6. On P2Pool transaction the block version is 4. I don't know if this is the issue, or something more complex. I'm running Ubuntu 16.4 and have tried P2Pool-master and P2Pool-feldenthorne and they both do the same thing. Oh and I have installed magi-hash also.
Any ideas anyone ??
I'm very interested to getting this going, but barely have time to look into atm; will make some tries whenever I'm able to. If someone else can help, that will be great. |

There are two urgent things that I have in mind all along and been talked so many times; unfortunately fully occupied by a daily job, though I am completely aware of the overdue roadmap: 1) switch to latest bitcoin basis (I already started a while ago, and really should commit to a deadline to accomplish it since this is a such importance); 2) deal with the mining situation (also been talked many times), there are couple of ideas I had other than the algo itself, including approach incentive to PoS staking. We'll talk when they are confirmed to be in implementation.
