i am planning to buy a AMD FX 8320. And also a GTX 970. I have used intel till date. Do you think, AMD will perform well in the field of mining ? Or it will interrupt GPU mining??
AMD alone wont interrupt GPU in general, but bundled with magi will do.

My single core VPS at DigitalOcean (cheepest, 5$ a month) is making around 15 khash...
There were few reports that they put limit in box once they found out high CPU usage; probably you can lower the hashrate a bit down so that CPU is not running at 100%.

Why are some of the miners detected by anti virus program`s and some not, are they bad news or is it just the code of the miner that trigger the anti virus program`s It's just a false positive detection; which AV you're using and which miners your AV is complaining?

Joe. I heard a rumour that gcc 4.7 might produce faster code than the latest 4.9 version. Is that what you are up to? I'm curious about that but not in any rush to attempt it.
Not quite sure of that, but it is true that the latest version might not be giving the best result. What I compiled is based on 4.9; I just tried 4.6 which is the mingw32 version on current Debian release, but it's inferior to compilation by 4.9. I will try out 4.7; 4.8 happens to be on xubuntu, will be quite easy to get a try.

What's the compiler flags you used? I noticed that your compilation is the fastest so far. Btw, I was running your miner under win 8 but got killed by McAfee. Those compiler flags are ... what I use to maintain my reputation as a miracle worker McAfee hates me. The feelings are mutual. I recommend uninstalling. Edit: I have noticed that Google Chrome hates me now too. I am fully deactivating McAfee now since the machine is only for crypto stuffs, only doing update & full scan sometimes. I also did a false positive submission to McAfee through GetSusp, will see if they remove it.

hefty, very nice collection; someone before was asking hash data like this, that's handy. Post your XMG address (put it in the sig so that people can easily find where to donate ); will send over tips. Hey joelao95 i benchmarked 70 machines at work in last 2,5 days and 31 different cpu-s with last spexx miner, i have another 290 machines to go i hope i can make list of about 100+ cpus and they magi hash. Would you mind if i ask here now on this forum all the people and you to help me by pm-ing me your cpu, clock, os, khash so i can make more accurate data/list of khash for all of us magi miners. Few people already pmd me about khashs and what cpu to recommend, so when i finish the list ill post it here on this forum ofc or i can send it to you so you can post it for everyone. cheers Thanks hefty, we are appreciated for your work, that really helps and you deserve a lot ; I'm wondering you got over 300 CPUs? will PM for details. All, please post your CPU hashrate, or PM hefty so that we can sort out a list.

I can see what you did there A lot of time and effort and I think you may be just one or two compiler flags away from my final effort. What a superb collection of minerds and I had some fun benchmarking that little lot. Its the same pattern as my efforts - the ones with AVX and AVX2 instruction sets are slower than the generic version - in this case slower than the SSE2 version Is that magic? Yeah, that's right; either way I am not quite sure of the difference and reason, was curious as to the difference by cross compiling, but I did see the difference between using different gcc; I am about to compile the gcc source code from scratch in my debian box and keen to see what's the difference I may get. What's the compiler flags you used? I noticed that your compilation is the fastest so far. Btw, I was running your miner under win 8 but got killed by McAfee.

How to add password to the wallet in ubuntu, encryptwallet <passphrase>? Will it affect POS/POW for pool operation if encrypted? I am testing in setting up a pool for fun.
Yes, that's right; never tried on pool, I think no effect; but you have to unlock to enable PoS.

What's wrong with block 170487. It has date in the future 2015-02-03 22:14:57 GMT Looks weird..

In addition to dev's VPS/Debian guide, can someone put an AWS/Ubuntu copy-paste guide as well?
Compiling on Ubuntu should be exactly same as on Debian. Let us know where you stuck?

We need more votes to get listed on cryptsy.
Addition to voting, I suggest everyone writes to cryptsy through their support and asks for adding XMG, that will be more effective in my view. You mean by email? Or twitter? Or both? After login, there is option to submit support ticket.

i tested more than 20 different cpus at work and at home only on windows 64 with spexx last miner, and 4 core i5 intels are on par with 6 core phenoms when using all cores on both and im getting similar to your hash even with fastest i5, 4690k is giving just a little more hash than your cpu. cpu stock oc peak khs i3 - richlands, 35 - 48 khs i5 - phenoms, 50 - 68 khs buldozzers, 73 - 82 khs (only tested FX-8150 at 3,6 and 4,2) visheras, 85 - 104 khs i7 - 1150,2011, 96 - 128 khs (i get best hash with spexx first miner with 1 instance per thread) intel mobility i3 i5 non oced, 18 - 30 khs all stock khs and max oc khs i could get and they have 5 - 15 % lower real stable hash than peak one, i can make accurate table in a week or 2 with all cpus/khs if youre interested. if you have cheap el power 8320 with good mobo 990fx is beast and most easy to oc proc it goes to 4,5 almost on stock v just multi up if you dont have cheap power i7 can undervolt easy, stock ghz 68w and turbo ghz 80w. hefty, very nice collection; someone before was asking hash data like this, that's handy. Hi!
Any ETA when the new Magi site will be available?
I'm working on the site, mostly in my off-work time (night); I will make it up ASAP.
