fake pump _fake walls  , walls are gone _lol

Indeed, very strange - but interesting. There were two massive walls on either side and they vanished into thin air. LOL

Do you guys know that all this is happening to make others sell at lower prices? At least that's what I'm thinking.

XMG price and volume were nothing a few weeks ago.
Because of the pumps XMG gets attention and the price and volume stays up.  (from 1300 to 3000)
This works much better than nice pictures, for now. Grin
So pump it up guys and let the coin stay alive!

Man, we don't need pump to make magi alive; I'll do Grin; well in part in markets anyways.

That's does sound strange and interesting, but I don't think that sort of would lead to a lower price since price is getting high per pump. You never know what's behind especially when what's happening is upon what's done by individuals, pump / dump. Frankly I don't like this sharp pump though it does bring attention it may come dump too. It's for sure that I can tell, if one sells at 5k and above, it's no doubt to buy in at this moment, or you have done already; well, if one sold at 2k, then go with some strategies.  Cheesy

# Transaction under stake with a value greater than the threshold is being splitted
stakesplitthreshold=600
# Transactions with values less than the threshold will combine into one
stakecombinethreshold=30
how to setup those, I want all inputs that are bellow 30 to combine into at least 600, I still have like 1000+ in inputs lower than 30 Huh

I use:
stakesplitthreshold=800
stakecombinethreshold=1000

which leads to combining any transaction below 1000 into one,
which will be splitted because 1000+ bigger than 800.
I have after two weeks 50% transactions of around 1200 and 50% transactions around 600.
The weight is not very high but the reward is 3.5 % a year.

Well, when you have every little things merged and lined up, why keeping them splitting all the time, for fun?
384  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XMG] Coin Magi | CPU mining | PoS-II | PoM | Unique BLK reward | [MagiPay] on: July 15, 2016, 01:25:57 AM
..
i think joe should maybe give coinpiles always a minimum base chance to mint and just reduce the rewards to zero for old coin pile

this way a wallet which was not minting for a month fix itself

first round of POS with 0 rewards but next round works normal

and no micromanagement by user required

This would be a nice feature.

In order to merge, one transaction (with value less than stakecombinethreshold) needs either mining a PoS block followed by merging with some other small inputs, or being merged with another stake (with value less than stakecombinethreshold) that mines a block. In your case, those transactions with less than 30 have to find block first, which might take longer time to gain a decent amount of weight. The solution then is to enable big stakes to be able to absorb inputs, i.e., to set stakecombinethreshold to a higher value (higher than the big stakes). I do not recommend set stakecombinethreshold higher than stakesplitthreshold, as cryptonit suggested. Let's say your wallet ends up many transactions with nearly equal values say 600 XMG. I would expect they are just staking and won't be splitting; the reason is that there is a window by magi's PoS mechanism in which those transactions with appropriate values will gain the weight faster than those other transactions with values out of the window. In other words, magi's PoS supposes 600 XMG will gain more weights than two 300 XMG in the long run. So I expect all ends up into this window and then keep staking stably and rapidly.

Thank you for the fast response joelao95  Smiley
Yes i see now the wallet is perfect.  Congrats - you have
done a fantastic job!  Magi is starting to go up already...

People will be thrilled and excited (like me) when they
see this super-fast new wallet.  Thank you very much!  Cool

P.S. Take your time with this, it's going to be great.
There is no need to hurry, and i see you are very busy!

Thanks; there has been some pressures from my real works that's a source I've to live by. so.. When I get myself settled well, ill take magi too.  Grin

staking dont seem to work in the new wallet, all my weight from the coins in my wallet are gone

I wasn't aware of this issue as the others seem working well. Have you forgot something such as unlocking the wallet?
388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XMG] Coin Magi | CPU mining | PoS-II | PoM | Unique BLK reward | [MagiPay] on: July 11, 2016, 11:28:30 PM
and pump is over  Grin , looks like pumper is not interested to do more then 4k price

Yeah. It was good while it lasted. Still, it is a great opportunity to buy some extra cheap Magi coins before the Proof of Interest campaign starts. Right now, XMG price is near the $0.02 USD mark but it can go higher anytime soon. I can expect for Coin Magi becoming worth at least $0.05 or $0.10 per coin. Just you wait and see. A coin like this with solid development and a good community has a very bright future. Joe and the rest of the Magi team are working hard to deliver us the goodness.  Smiley

Somebody supporting the price with at least 3.5BTC to price 1700, so looks like somebody (with a large wallet) still has an interest in magi, for the last few months there has been nothing supporting a price. Whoever is supporting may be waiting until they accumulate more Magi before attempting another push.

I hate to talk the price in that gets me off some real works, more or less. At the first look, I was under impression of some speculations going on.  Cheesy

goldlabel, Thanks for the work.

p.s., I'd find time for a talk with you; bear with me. :-)

OK i got the new wallet now, works great and looks great!
Does the wallet have a default split/merge settings, or do I
need to give it the commands?  Also, it would be nice if the
wallet would update the price once every 10 minutes or 1 hour.

So no "stable release" will be issued anytime soon?  Maybe you
are working on an even-better wallet update first?  The warning
at the bottom might scare off any new investors I'm thinking.

It has built-in settings; however, you can overwrite defaults by giving values in conf. This was talked in the past few pages in this thread. "update the price once every 10 minutes or 1 hour" can be done quite straightforward; however, I am not very keen into things be piled up into burdening the wallet. Right now, price is updated per your click. If more people vote for this option, I'll give it a go.

I got few things to be done to push out the finals. 0) sort of checking overall; 1) I'm a bit uncomfortable till having some minors changed, such as the icons; and 2) tried to make time for a full prepared binaries in a few OS; OSX is definitely the one. I'm bit struggled with making some time out of my work at this time as I'm upon an urgent project that has to be done as soon as I can. Either way, I'll finalize the things asap so that we can keep eye on going forward.

ALL,

Since I don't see any significant concerns coming up, I recommend using the new RC wallet.

The new wallet works fine!
Only one question concerning the currency on the wallet screen:

One of my pc's says okay:

The other one has only zeros, 0.00.

What can be the problem with this pc, it's the same network, port 8232 open.

My win machines worked at some occasions as well. Price info read from coinmarketcap for now via json, with btc and usd price separately, that's why btc price display zero likely due to unsuccessful data access of the btc channel; I'll figure out. linux/unix absolutely hasn't such an issue.
394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XMG] Coin Magi | CPU mining | PoS-II | PoM | Unique BLK reward | [MagiPay] on: July 06, 2016, 01:30:32 AM
regarding daily POS rewards against daily POW rewards situation is much more unbalanced than i was expecting

i can see after a few days now clear that the daily produced POS coins of whole network are below 300 and the daily produced POW coins are average above 9000

this means the ratio is

1:30

and not the 1:10 i said before

PoW block reward is obviously varying as it is supposed to be. It is a thing we'd take a closer look at in the next move as mentioned, while the reward itself is really a thing out of my very concern at the first place. I'd  make a time for cleaning up what I want to say with respect to all of prior suggestions the others made.
395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XMG] Coin Magi | CPU mining | PoS-II | PoM | Unique BLK reward | [MagiPay] on: July 02, 2016, 02:54:01 AM
I'm not sure if anybody else has noticed, but it looks like m-chain.info hasn't been working for the last few days

Does anybody know who is responsible for the service?

As far as I can see, the last update was 2016-06-24 02:03:13

Thanks =)
I've noticed the following message at the bottom of all of my wallets some located in different places (black writing on almost black bar so difficult to read)

WARNING: Checkpoint is too old. Wait for block chain to download or notify developers.

Can anybody else spot the text on the status bar (difficult to see), or is it just me? I'm using two different 64-bit builds of the wallet (1.2.2.1 and I think a newer version), but didn't try the rc version yet.

Could this also have anything to do with the error on m-chain.info?

I should mention that the block chain is still synchronising, the error message is showing however - I first noticed it yesterday - but since its difficult to notice I'm not sure how long it could have been there for

I missed providing some info here. I'm actually responsible for m-chain.info; as I updated the server to the latest rc version, the database of the site seems down, that needs a resync. However, the warning of your wallet doesn't matter with this site, and will go away if you update to the rc version wallet.

I tried to get specific ideas on the implementation of bridging PoW and PoS I've mentioned, and imo, this could be, in part, an elegant way to solve the concerns. Conclusions may be derived and made from the very general level and very top where we agree on the obvious facts. I shall be done such thinkings.
397  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XMG] Coin Magi | CPU mining | PoS-II | PoM | Unique BLK reward | [MagiPay] on: July 01, 2016, 02:23:11 AM
The new wallet works great so far for me!  It builds fine in Ubuntu and the split threshold appears to work and it loads up much, much faster!  Thank you. I haven't seen it combine any blocks yet but maybe my older smaller blocks don't have any coin weight now as pointed out by fragilefungi.  I'm looking forward to a few months of set it and forget it after a long period of combining blocks all the time to tweak the PoS return up.  Maybe a small boost in the interest rate might keep us hardcore PoS guys from grumbling so much.  Nudge nudge, poke, poke.  Cheesy

I do see your point in keeping it as it is though, coins are all over the place in the interest, block reward cap and PoW rewards and the ones that don't do to well tend to have higher rates of coin production.  I keep thinking that some sort of project to actually make a use for XMG would be a better use of resources than trying to adjust the coin production but we could certainly do both.

I was thinking at one time about doing a multi-player game in PlayCanvas where we could rain coins like we can in IRC but it seems like a lot of work and I'm not sure if there would be enough interest to make it worthwhile.

Other things I have thought about are a virtual reality video in stereo 360 showing a world with XMG coins dropping in it.  It would be viewable in Google Cardboard.

I'm feeling pretty motivated now to do some type of work but can't promise what is going to get done at this point. Smiley I've been having a few issues and a recent hospitalization but things are much better now.

Lightsplasher, I am excited again that old members are still around, very much motivating us to invest efforts. I will do review the games; interesting.

Fragilefungi,

I am so glad to see you again and that your wallet was not damaged. It's been a while that I was off this thread too cause I had to recover from pains of real life business; fortunately got over.

Regarding PoW vs PoS, we had some discussions in the past as I remember. To me, it's very hard to go the direction of suppressing PoW and increasing PoS; well, I cannot simply say no with no reasons. I'll talk more on this topic during weekend.

in my opinion the rewards should fit at least to the amount of block produced

for now 2/3 of blocks are POS blocks and protecting the network
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xmg/#!extraction

2/3 of blocks and protecting the network for 1/10 of the daily rewards
there is something wrong

i can understand if u say u want POW to stay a major coin rollout source
but serious the balance between POW and POS is not right at this moment

PoS blocks vs PoW quite right bud, I'll explain more later, little bit busy.
