Just because I got my money back I would not for a second assume its a good sign that this company is legit.
I didn't really want to post I got my money back in case other noobs like myself came along and saw the company freely giving back customers money and getting it in their heads its all above board.
Did you get an actual refund from Bitcoinultra or just ask the credit card for your money back? if the latter then Bitcoinultra had nothing to do with it, they'll simply get the bill from Visa. I'm aware how the system works. It was a Bitcoinultra refund . I did not contact my CC company. |

I just love this law  Jail time for forgetting a password nice! It's OK they hardly ever use this law right? and if your not guilty of anything what's to worry about? Its not like this law can be called upon whenever its needed or anything and lets be honest when have good honest folk ever been screwed by a government. I'm an honest chap and have no issue with my government installing telescreens into my own home. No need for all that GCHQ camera hacking business just send the boys over and hook me up, I'll put the kettle on.  I feel much safer knowing my government has these kind of laws and is looking out for me. |

NO paypal, BTC, or Amazon payment (whatever that is)....I guess they went over their paypal limit or have been reading this thread
Indeed - note of caution - removal of payment methods is a classic... So as I understand it people like myself and others here use paypal and Ccards to buy these miners. If scam then who is the target ? If the Paypals been removed and they don't accept btc or anything other than CC then it stands to reason the target is those purchasing with CC. Or has anyone here been paying over the phone and we don't know about it ? For me I think you are OK V4Vendettas since you paid CC. The possible scam is that you were a 'test' payer where they accept a few CC/paypal payments, gain feedback and trust, then switch to BTC only payments. You'd be CRAZY to send BTC direct unless they become WELL established. For you, you have the comfort of being able to phone your credit card company and getting your money back - albeit with a pile of hassle - and no miner. For others, the risk is that they 'buy in' based on a few success stories and lose their coins. Still could be a legit company, that website is no small effort. Yea I had considered that an option but as far as I can see they have not accepted btc from anyone ( jump in anyone and tell us if thats not the case) . At this stage it seems like a lot of effort to go to just to abuse the credit card information they have from us. Does not make sense unless I'm missing something. Ofc if the next step is btc payments come on-line yea don't touch it until the rest of us actually see some hardware. Well, if it is a simple credit card number grabbing exercise then you are protected from that too by your CC company - by UK law. You'll be able to make a credit card 'charge back' and the recipient will not receive the funds (unless you acted in a 'wreckless' way - which is unlikely and also a bit vague under UK law). Although you are then exposed to the potential of ID theft for other purposes. Let's see if your miner arrives (and if they change to BTC only payments etc) - I am hoping this company is good to go - no import taxes if so... V4Vendettas - did you get your money back from your CC company? - you went very quiet... Yes I got my Money back with no issue and am glad of it or I would be stressing out about lack of updates. Sorry so quiet been outside and everything because this thing they call the sun came out for the first time in months! The math doesnt add up.
20GB wouldnt be many decent scans. mtgox had how many users?
A database of usernames and other details like address and email maybe but not the actual verification scans those would take up heaps of space.
The kind of heaps of space that you would as a disgruntled employee have to walk out with on an external hard drive ? |

hahahahaa ... dude, where have you been? I thought for sure you would be one of the main investigators Lol I have been trying to buy some mining hardware. Honestly have you been over there? Its like every company is manned by and army of cloned Marks its horrible. I have been dropping in and out of threads and keeping any eye on some wallet movements, posting what they are doing but honestly feel a bit out of my depth. I'm still learning the basics of block-chain forensics. In short seems like where ever you look if it had been near gox its just splitting all over the place into fresh wallets stopping then splitting again into more fresh wallets. Also been looking into lawyers etc but what I think is really important for all of us right now while we can do nothing but watch the chain is finding ways to protect ourselves from Identity theft. Lets face it gox is a mess and somewhere 0.5 mil of us have KYC docs and if mark cant set up cold storage for btc what kind of protection did he have in place for our docs? Also trying to find a bridge to the right department out in Japan. I mean our boys here are great in number and picking apart any info they can get their hands on.. how do we get this data to them? As yet not heard of anyone that's got a bridge up...anyone know of one ? |

On most of these threads, it seems to me that it attracts the least mature people - perhaps in years or only mentality or perhaps both. To demand pictures by a certain date and then claim scam if they don't comply with your childish impatient stance is just fail. Bitcoinultra's situation right now is that they have opened their order books in a "pre-order" fashion despite stating that they would not do so. This does not make them a scam. To not comply with an adolescent's demands to produce pictures of a working rig by a certain day does not make them a scam. My own view is that I will wait until there is any further updates from the company if they want my money, if they don't provide updates then I will continue to go elsewhere. I see "V4Vendetta" ordered as soon as there was a picture of a blue box, and now has already requested a refund. This shows immaturity and an increased likelihood (in my view) of getting scammed in the future. I am not picking on you, I am just saying what I see. This thread is now almost entirely filled with people who are flaming - and I suspect calling and emailing the company every single hour of the day for updates which causes delay for everyone and again shows how childish people can be regardless of age. I suggest that you put your parents' credit cards back in their wallets for now and wait for further developments.....  J Totally fair opinion. I want this miner but in retrospect am unwilling to take the risk . I now know this and have acted on it. They did say they would not take orders until they had everything they needed to be 100% sure they could deliver. That would mean they have all the components ? Why not just take a few snapshots and post them ? Its not asking a lot in my view but still that's my view. I have said it plenty of times I hope its all real and if it is I wish them the best god knows we need a good supplier here in the UK. So yes I would consider myself immature to the pre ordering market for sure and when push comes to shove I have found I don't want to be part of it. Cant say I did not learn a little of myself. Bitcoin is amazing...but it has a public perception problem. The Bitcoin foundation should hire a PR firm to right the ship.
Don't forget the more bitcoin survives the tougher it looks and/or is. I have a few friends who heard about bitcoin a few years ago come to me recently and say wtf that bitcoin stuffs still around? Wait didn't gox kill it all ? Didn't it like crash already? I just say yea it crashed a few times since you last looked hey take a look at the numbers for your self. They mostly then say wtf its worth that much now ? Fuuuuu I could have got in when it was £2... but I don't get it after all this bad stuff has happened why is it not close to zero if its all over. I do agree tho some cat getting urgent heart surgery funded by bitcoins or other news might be nice once in a while. |

I guess I got my hopes up. So much drama and we're only in March! Although I still have full confidence in bitcoins future, I can't help but think the publics perception of bitcoin has been damaged a lot recently. Lot's of thefts/fraud/possible criminal activity being reported, of course that's all the media report on anyway. But damn, when do you ever hear of a 500 MILLION DOLLAR THEFT in the real world? Blows my mind! This has affected a lot of bitcoin users too. I for one lost all but 2btc of my holdings thanks to mtgox (and 50btc). Not only did I lose a fair amount of confidence but I am also no longer a strong holder of coins anymore. With no fiat to buy back in again I just feel like an outsider looking into the bitcoin world. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
I wonder what drama will unfold next...

The little I have left I was going to get some mining gear but for the life of me I'm finding it hard to find some that's not vaporware/preorder/outright scam. oh pls..... i can have sympathy for the OP, but you...? nah.... You lost money because of greed. The sooner you admit it the faster you can move on. You were the one thats fcking wiring money into MtGox hoping to buy cheap coins....(after they stopped btc withdrawal) despite many warnings on here. Stop who gives a shit about your lost now? Lolz not after sympathy was my own fault for trusting anyone but myself and yes I traded my way up from £1000 to 73 goxcoins because I wanted to have some money and ( yea it paid for me to live too) call that greed sure I suppose it was. That was my job and I can tell you its kinda hard work day trading if your a noob with no trading experience like me. Only thing i ever sent to gox was 2 years ago I was not one of those wiring in money looking for more cheep gox coins. I already had more gox coins than I wanted. So kindly fuck right off I'm moving on and trying to get back into bitcoin. |

Just wait for things to happen, if you're so anxious you're about to shit your pants, then just pick up the telephone and call the company and ask questions because making up your own assumptions and pulling ideas out of your ass isn't helping anybody, you could sit around and speculate bullshit all day. If you really are that bothered just phone them.
No no this guy is right!!! Its not like people are getting scammed or let down by companies every other day now is it? People have been asking for some very basic things in this thread that any legit company could have sorted out in a second. If its legit it makes zero sense to have not come forward and addressed these concerns. It could be the company is so confident they are choosing to let their actions speak for themselves and will deliver on or ahead of time with a product fit for purpose. Should that happen I personally will be over the moon and will be telling everyone I meet about this great company while throwing the last of my money at them. Disclaimer: I was order 45 and have since requested a refund. I fully intend to be a returning customer upon evidence that all things are as they should be and this is not a scam/hack job. |

Its the other 6,999,000,000 people that have not seen that video that need to see it. Again guessing at a 7 bil population and god knows how many of them just care about when they can eat next or find clean drinking water.
