engineer time costs and minimum time increments?

I suppose most standard support ops expected to be free and if we are talking about "extra mile" kind of work, like remote hands, custom sysadmin work on behalf of the customer etc... it is not really something that most professional users are too worried about. For all I care, it could be up to 50-100$ an hour in 15 minute increments, or slightly higher depending on location and type of hosting. It is not uncommon for biz clients to pay their own sysadmins up to 100$/hour or more and they should not be too worried about this, particularly considering that when one has a proficient sysadmin involved need of such service almost never arises.

What do people want in their hosting packages?

often people want more simplicity and less bullshit and no rip-offs on optional components

What price point would be considered a rip-off on optional components?

monthly payment that pays off the component in less than one year is automatically suspect. Hosting biz is highly competitive.

Litecoin is backed by hopium and jealousy.

Anyway, who cares about all your shitcoins. You "shitcoin devs" and whoever "mines and uses" those deserve each other.

Anyway who cares about all those countless amazoncoins, applecoins, whatevercoins. It is nothing more than marketing BS.  Bitcoin cloned shitcoins have more merit than those.

Anyone who cannot see that honest cryptocurrencies will inevitably kill off fiat currencies sooner or later in course of evolution of humankind has no vision.

I do feel its got an advantage over BTC on a technical level
What advantage would that be?

Litecoins are good for buying bitcoins. And it is only thing it is better at than Bitcoin as buying bitcoins for bitcoins makes no sense.

i bought bitcoins with bitcoins. twice. made perfect sense to me. for those bitcoins i acquired were from the 10.000 btc pizza transaction and everybody with blockchain has the proof. but those are special trades.

Well if you buy Casascius bitcoins with bitcoins...aren't we doing that too? Buying bitcoins with bitcoins?  Tongue

Those are not really Bitcoins. That is a currency built on top of Bitcoin backed by full faith in Casascious, the issuer. Bitcoin has somewhat different properties.

Smoothie, isn't what you just described above is effectively using litecoins to buy bitcoins? Just like I said.

18  Economy / Services / Re: UK Bitcoin Debt Collection on: May 28, 2013, 09:32:58 PM
Even if you successfully sue a debtor, don't you still have to collect the debt if you can't get an attachment to earnings?

No. You do not need a debt collector for that it would be a bailiff. A debt collector in England is either a company that writes 1000 letters and making 1000 nuisance calls or someone going round shooting kneecaps.

And yea even if you get a judgement in your favor in some circumstances the debtor will only have to pay you like 1£ a month till the end of days.

I am not against a responsible debt collection agency. However, I do not think there is one in UK and based on what OP said, he appears to me as utterly clueless about the practicalities. I doubt very much that he is capable of forming a "responsible debt collection agency".

It just so happened that I know rather very well both Data Protection Act and Consumer Credit Act here in UK and witnessed way to many times how numerous debt collectors and banks trying to scare poor people into submission using all kinds of lies and underhand or borderline criminal tactics. I have also seen many times how rather simple methods and proper advise turn the tables in favor of people quite quickly and keep scammy debt collectors at bay.

If you hold a legitimate debt in England or Wales. A debt collector in a wrong way to approach the problem. Just sue the debtor or write it off.
