I think most of small crypto users like me just use web wallet to hold crypto-currency. Because we have lack of technical knowledge about bitcoin technology. And as a result most of us don't bother to use wallet software like Bitcoin core or Electrum. I will describe today one of most dangerous disadvantage of web wallet which have a painful example. Usually most of us just limited on few boards and don't bother to read even some important board. That's why I am bothering to create a awareness about that disadvantages. So, please take a look on this thread first and read how OP lost 32 bitcoin at once. If you already read that above thread, I believe you got the point how OP lost his 32 bitcoin. For simple explanation, this user sent fund to a investment platform from coinabse. He used coinbase to buy and sent bitcoin. Usually all web wallet hold their fund to hot wallet and cold wallet. All the transaction will be made from hot wallet. So when OP sent fund, then coinbase sent fund from their hot wallet. Just imagine, they sent fund from xxx address which is belongs to hot wallet of coinbase, and fund sent to yyy address which is belongs to investment platform. So transaction being confirmed and OP has credited fund to his investment platform. Somehow OP were not agree to terms and conditions of investment platform and that platform sent fund back to source account (xxx address ). In a result fund directly entered on hot wallet of counabse which is cause op wallet doesn't show 32 bitcoin. Because address were not belongs to OP, it was belongs to coinbase hot wallet. I have only 1% hope that OP would recover his fund. Only one hope is sent address and receive address were same from both end on both transaction. Whoever made mistakes but OP has lost fund. Do you believe that kind of amount should hold on coinbase and make transaction of 32 btc a once. If OP were use coinbase just buy bitcoin and use own address which he have private key then he won't lost fund like this way. Coinbase create a unique receiving address for us and only that address use for receive fund. We can't sent fund from that address because after receive fund on this address automatically will sent and spent to coinbase hot wallet. So be careful when you are dealing with big amount on web wallet. Use your address which have control private keys. Otherwise fund isn't control by you. Especially if you are dealing with third party like investment platforms or marketplace just your own address to send fund. |

Just ordered now Ledger backup pack Nano-X + Nano-S from Amazon. Seller is Ledger official. I could used Ledger official website for buy this pack but there is some reason. The issue with delivery. Since I am working on abroad currently I am not living in city. So I used someone else address for receive that product and that guy usually use Amazon website to buy products. Ledger official website free delivery which is same price of Amazon price including delivery. But Ledger website will dilvery with in one month. If not then delivery cost too high. Thats why I used Amazon. However, I am fully new with Hardware wallet. If there is any sign that I would know if devices have been used or any other thing that I would have risk? This post just for fun, I am quite curious about "how did you chosen bitcointalk username at the beginning of registrations? And why?"
For me I will share why I have chosen "Coolcryptovator" username for bitcointalk. Since I believe this forum is like a crypto academy so I wondered to create some username with crypto related. Then "Cryptovator" were came on my mind, but unfortunately this username has been taken by someone else. I could add some number with it (like 123) but it was quite annoying to me with username. So I want to add something with "Cryptovator" except numerical. So I add "Cool" with it, because often I use this word on real life and online chat. It was become my habit to use "Cool" word everywhere. And that's how I have chosen my username "Coolcryptovator".
There is few interesting name on this forum. Sometimes I have been thinking how and why he chosen that username.

There was 2 unspent transaction on my address with 0.1 BTC each. Means I had 0.2 BTC on my address. So I were need to transfer almost 0.07 BTC to some address. I were thought since there is 2 unspent transaction I might able to use one of them, and rest 0.1 BTC would remain on same address and 0.03 BTC (except fee) will be move on change address. But when I broadcast transaction, both unspent transaction move from my address and remain 0.13 BTC (except fee) return to my change address. Is that means whatever unspent transaction available on my address all of them will move to change address when I will try to make new transactions? Or am I missing something? I know about send fund from single address even I have fund on multiple address at same wallet. I was use electrum. Here is address: 1Q4xJNNmyPEy3iP3v2xKPn837Uic3i4wYk (it was my first transaction to multiple address at once), Summary is, I can not(1) spent individual unspent transaction from my address if there is multiple unspent transaction. As title says, I have made a topic with details so please read if your are using Bittrex. Since duplicate post isn't allowed by forum, I am posting link of thread. Because matter is quite important and there is risk lost of funds. Here is my topic, Bittrex International shutting down services from 31 countries. Although topic is exist on Trading discussion but I think warn newbie is quite reasonable. More importance is you should share and discusse on your local board if you are reside on ban country.
