621  Other / Politics & Society / Chicago police arrest 14-year-old boy over sex assault streamed live on Facebook on: April 02, 2017, 04:21:21 PM
Police in Chicago have arrested a 14-year-old boy over the the sexual assault of a teenage girl by a group of young men that was broadcast live on the internet.
The attack on a 15-year-old victim was streamed on Facebook and watched by about 40 people who did not report it .

Telegraph.co.uk: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/04/02/chicago-police-arrest-14-year-old-boy-sex-assault-streamed-live/

I just couldn't find the words to describe how I feel after reading this article honestly, what a world we live in really. What shocked me the most is the age of that boy and the fact that 40 people was watching without reporting it or calling the authorities.

623  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Japan's Bitcoin Law Goes Into Effect Tomorrow on: March 31, 2017, 06:56:58 PM
The country's legislature passed a law, following months of debate, that brought bitcoin exchanges under anti-money laundering/know-your-customer rules, while also categorizing bitcoin as a kind of prepaid payment instrument. It's a debate that began in the wake of the collapse of Mt Gox, the now-defunct bitcoin exchange that shuttered after months of growing complications and, in the end, revelations of insolvency and alleged fraud.

You could read more about it: http://www.coindesk.com/japan-bitcoin-law-effect-tomorrow/

The fact that their exchange will force users to KYC verification is kinda bad news, but in the same time, this should somehow make people trust bitcoin more since the Mt.gox disaster happened.
624  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / F2Pool owner: "Bitcoin can’t fork and won’t fork." on: March 29, 2017, 02:44:42 PM
He made this statement two days ago: https://twitter.com/f2pool_wangchun/status/846266755391512577
I'm not an expert but isn't SegWit a fork too? If that's the case, does it mean that he won't support any of them(BU or SegWit)?
625  Economy / Currency exchange / [WTS] Bitcoin for Payoneer on: March 29, 2017, 08:29:43 AM
I have bitcoin and I need Payoneer. I'm looking to buy 50$ in Payoneer. Please make sure that your account allow the card to card feature (sending funds to other card holders). I won't go first unless you are more trusted then me, otherwise we will go for an escrow.
626  Economy / Service Discussion / Bitaccess ATM? on: March 28, 2017, 05:12:06 PM
I'm looking for someone who already used one of the Bitaccess ATMs before, I've seen a video on it and I saw the the limits are 3000 EUR per transaction. I know that It's necessary to verify your phone number by receiving a code in SMS.

I need to know about selling bitcoins, the thing is that the guy on the video only sold 10 EUR in bitcoins for cash. I have seen on the ATM something that says "transaction above 100 EUR will need additional confirmation", I didn't understand If they meant the transaction confirmation or identity confirmation honestly...

I'm unable to find the Bitaccess email address on their website as well, so If someone could answer my question above or give me their email, I would really appreciate it.
627  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What is UASF exactly? on: March 27, 2017, 11:31:25 AM
I'm not sure I'm getting it? is UASF another version of SegWit that could (and should) be activated right away without the need of miners signalling it? If yes, then wouldn't that be the exact definition of "centralization"?
628  Economy / Web Wallets / Blockchain.info giving API keys again on: March 27, 2017, 09:28:57 AM

630  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Mobi - Global Bitcoin Wallet on: March 20, 2017, 11:51:13 AM
I was just reading on Coindesk that BTCC launched a wallet that works for both iOS and Android and I thought I should share it with you guys, they didn't post the link of the wallet but I found this while searching (which I assume is the wallet they were talking about): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.btcc.mobi&hl=en
631  Economy / Exchanges / Why you should stop using Coinbase on: March 18, 2017, 02:35:06 PM
Coinbase made a few modifications lately and I think some of them means that you guys should stop using them because It's 100% against your privacy and security (for long term).

Some people were using Coinbase and Xapo because they were paying the transaction fees on your behalf, well, not anymore. Coinbase decided to stop doing that.
Another thing worth mentioning is that they are planning to make people verify their ID using Live webcam! I suggest checking the links below for more information's about the other modifications that are going to touch Coinbase. If this is not enough for people to leave and stop using them, then I don't know what will make them do so. Without forgetting the fact that they have some serious problems with the IRS.

633  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What SolidX ETF means to the bitcoin community? on: March 13, 2017, 10:21:28 AM
I still don't know what SolidX is really about so an explication is really appreciated, and I want to know how this ETF (which should take place 30th March) is compared to the twins ETF that got rejected two days ago.

635  Economy / Trading Discussion / Payment method to trade with and allow Visa withdrawal? on: March 11, 2017, 03:32:42 PM
I decided to stop virtual visa cards for the risks involved here as my account could get frozen or something, I made a request at my local bank and I got the visa card however for some reasons, It didn't work for PayPal and I want to continue trading bitcoin with something else that allow linking a Visa card and withdrawing funds to it. I don't care about the fees as long as they are fair.
636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / SegWit (26.8%) vs Bitcoin Unlimited (32.2%) on: March 09, 2017, 06:38:20 AM

I'm not entirely sure of what happened but It looks like Bitcoin Unlimited is seriously catching up with SegWit while SW is pretty much stable and not changing. I want to know now, If BU get 95%, is it when It will get activated and If yes, we will have to download another client or they will take control over the current Bitcoin Core Repository because It looks pretty much confusing... and should we switch our coins somewhere else after that?
637  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / ETF decision before 11th March on: March 08, 2017, 04:17:34 PM
If the news are true then we should expect seeing results either tomorrow or Friday.

"The SEC has an 11th March deadline to make a decision regarding the proposed rule change that would clear the way for the ETF, which would be the first of its kind. Yet because the 11th falls on a Saturday, that decision will come before that date – potentially before Friday, the source said."

638  Economy / Service Discussion / BTC.com Transaction Accelerator on: March 07, 2017, 08:30:07 AM
I know that most of you know that ViaBTC are offering a service to accelerate transactions and everyone seem to send transaction with low fees and use it to make things faster.
I was checking btc.com blockexplorer until I saw an option to accelerate transaction which probably got added recently, I thought I should share it with you.

Unlike ViaBTC though, the service is not free but It's really nothing much when you need to speed up a transaction urgently: https://pushtx.btc.com/

"Cooperating with main Bitcoin pools, we provide transaction accelerator service, which can make the probability of confirming transaction within 1 hour come up to 75% and 98% within 4 hours."
639  Economy / Web Wallets / Priority removed? on: March 06, 2017, 10:03:39 AM
I noticed that blockchain.info removed the part about the priority where It says (low, high, medium) and a notice that says the reason (If it's because of the low fees or something else), anyone knows why they did it? because It was really useful... and removing it wasn't really a good move because It's making people more confused about their transactions and why they are stuck.
640  Other / Politics & Society / Iran announces successful test of $800m Russia-built air defence system on: March 04, 2017, 12:17:43 PM
Iran has successfully tested an advanced air defence system purchased from Russia in another demonstration of strong ties between the two countries.

The S-300 system can track and take out multiple targets at a range of up to 125 miles (200 km) and has been named Damavand after Iran's highest mountain – a potentially active volcano.
