1161  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / LOT Polish Airlines Now Accepts Bitcoin on: August 05, 2015, 03:26:19 PM
LOT Polish Airlines is now accepting bitcoin payments, meaning the digital currency can be used to pay for flights to more than 60 global destinations.

Tickets can be purchased on LOT's desktop and mobile websites. LOT does not accept directly, but exchanges the digital currency for fiat using an unnamed payment service provider, the media outlet said.

LOT now accepts bitcoin alongside payment methods including American Express, PayPal, MasterCard and Visa.

Jiri Marek, executive director of sales and distribution for the company, said the decision demonstrates how LOT is open to "every client need" as well as innovations in the travel industry.

Marek said: (I really liked his statement , it's just a matter of time Grin )

""Many of our customers are shopping online, including flights. It is only a matter of time before virtual currency payments will become as popular as credit card use nowadays. We saw this potential."

1162  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Transactions speed prevent us from going to Mainstream ? on: August 03, 2015, 05:31:35 PM
Could this be the reason , It's like 15-20mn to get at least 1 confirmation if I'am correct ?
Anyway the point is that we need some time to get transactions verified , could this actually prevent us from going to mainstream ?  I mean if you want to buy something from McDonald are you supposed to wait 15mn while that's the time of your launch break ?

When you are buying parking tickets are you also supposed to wait few minuts ?  Huh It wouldn't make any sense .

Honestly , I'am not even sure what controls the speed of the transactions .
1163  Economy / Economics / What do you think about what Satoshi said ? on: August 03, 2015, 10:32:31 AM
In Feb. 14, 2010 Satoshi Nakamoto said : I’m sure that in 20 years there will either be very large (bitcoin) transaction volume or no volume.

Current transactions volume : https://blockchain.info/fr/charts/n-transactions

What do you think about what Satoshi said and how it's going to be in 2029 . As we can see on the Blockchain.info chart volume seems to be increasing with the time however it doesn't seem to be enough , it's not that big ...
1164  Economy / Trading Discussion / SEPA Works outside Europe ? on: August 03, 2015, 09:52:49 AM
I still didn't make my bank account however I will soon and it will be BNP PARIBAS.
I just want to know if I will be able to use SEPA on paying people or it's impossible unless I'am in Europe. BNP PARIBAS have some of their banks in my country. so not sure if I will be able to use that feature just because I have account on that bakn or I should have bank account + be in Europe. GRACIAS
1165  Other / Beginners & Help / Importing wallet.dat ? on: August 02, 2015, 04:38:28 PM
Now and after I upgraded to Windows 10  & as some of you have seen my old threads here and know the high Paranoïa that I have ... I made a blockchain.info wallet , I sent about 0.25 BTC to that wallet which means I have only one address on that account for now .

Beside the 0.25 BTC which are on my btc wallet , I have a backup of my wallet from Bitcoin Core .
I need to basically send funds to my Electrum wallet and I know I could do the following :

for the 0.25 BTC I could just send it but for the .dat it's something else because Electrum don't allow importing it .

I could import wallet.dat to Blockchain.info https://blockchain.info/fr/wallet/import-wallet from here but why It doesn't require connecting to my account there ?

And If I manage to import it , will I have all addresses that I had on .dat to my Blockchain.info account ? I mean I can sign messages from my Blockchain.info of all addresses I had on Bitcoin Core ?

Or .. is there is any wallet.dat reader ? basically convert it to string or something so I can read it using Notepad and I copy private keys and do whatever I need to ?

Gracias amigos  Sad

1166  Bitcoin / Project Development / C# - Give me few project ideas ? on: August 02, 2015, 10:35:24 AM
Now and I have fresh PC and I installed Windows 10 , I 'am planning to install Visual studio 2015 and start developing using C# once again since it's been a long time since I didn't touch any programming IDE  Roll Eyes

So give me few ideas what I should do (Basically for Windows , Android , iOS & Windows Phone) small , medium projects I guess ,nothing big I'am not that professional .

I was thinking on making something for Watch-only ? Basically a program on your PC you can add to it how much addresses you want with Label and once it receives something you get a notification but I'am not sure if it's already available or not .

Anyway just let me know what do you think (about this project) + new ideas
1167  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / OpenBazaar’s New UI Prototype Released , What do you think of it ? on: August 02, 2015, 08:13:14 AM
Don't quote otherwise the thread will become bigger then Burj Khalifa  Roll Eyes and if you do , remove pictures from quotes .

Sam Patterson from the OpenBazaar core team released a user interface demo prototype this week with configurations, customizations and samples. The software itself is still incomplete, but the browser based UI is almost finalized, with new improvements in the chatting system and store/item display.

Merchants are given the ability to fully customize their stores – from header colors, text colors, background images to color themes.

Item Descriptions

Similar to most e-commerce platforms, users are allowed to upload multiple photos and descriptions of their products, shipping fees, conditions, reviews, etc.

Purchase & Chat

The design of Open Bazaar platform has been changed completely since the walkthrough demonstration of Open Bazaar Beta 5. On the most recent OpenBazaar user interface release, users can chat with other vendors and buyers to discuss the products and resolve related issues, (e.g. shipping, damages, etc...)

1168  Economy / Services / CS:GO Boosting Partnership ? on: August 01, 2015, 01:54:12 PM
I was wondering if someone have CS:GO Boosting rank service around here and want to do a Partnership with me .
However I prefer kind of boosting where we do not take control of the client , It's too much responsability and I don't want to be accused of scam in case something happened to his account .

My rank is : DMG (most likely Legendary eagle in one or two games)
Contact me with the details if want to do that . Smiley
1169  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Can we actually change something on Bitcoin using Change.org ? on: July 31, 2015, 05:29:36 PM
Most of you probably know The world’s platform for change "change.org" Do you actually think that we can change something on Bitcoin and make it mainstream because of Change.org .
I got that idea to ask some companies to add BItcoin as payment method (dosen't matter if it's Gaming , shopping etc ... ) and I wanted to ask about your opinion if sending petition and get a lot of signature from users can actually change something or you think it's a waste of time and useless .

1170  Economy / Scam Accusations / Bitpap - Scam exchange & Idendity theft on: July 31, 2015, 07:51:48 AM
So there is this guy who is doing announcements about this website and moderators are doing their job and deleting the posts when I report them. (not why they do that if they keep saying they don't remove likely scams)

But the guy keep coming back and post on Bitcointalk or StackExchange (Bitcoin section) or other website .

Here is what you should know about the website  :

Official website : http://www.bitpap.com/
On the button of the page , he says that BitPap Global Management Team are :

  • Charles Cascarilla, CEO and Co-Founder
  • Andrew Chang, COO
  • Erik Wilgenhof Plante, Chief Compliance Officer

Yes , each one of those persons are what the website is claiming however not for BitPap but for "ItBit" and ehre is the proof : https://www.itbit.com/h/our-team

Another proof , after searching on Linkedin (as you can see they work for ItBit) :

Charles Cascarilla, CEO and Co-Founder => https://www.linkedin.com/in/chadcascarilla
Andrew Chang, COO => https://www.linkedin.com/in/mrandrewchang
Erik Wilgenhof Plante, Chief Compliance Officer => https://sg.linkedin.com/in/erikwp

A third proof on CoinDesk ItBit Nets $25 Million, Launches NYDFS-Approved Bitcoin Exchange , when you start reading you will find this (I quote) :

Quote

In a statement, itBit co-founder and CEO Charles Cascarilla said that the approval gives the bitcoin exchange broad access to US-based customers, adding:

So that's it . Stay safe and don't use this website
1171  Bitcoin / Electrum / Questions about Electrum - Help please on: July 31, 2015, 07:31:33 AM
I asked on the official topic however didn't got any answers , not accusing anyone of ignoring me but just saying maybe they didn't see it or didn't know the answer, so posting here for more visibility Smiley

I decided to Switch to Electrum lately since Bitcoin Core is screwing my RAM & CPU .

  • Once I write the seed and in case I use it once , does the wallet stay seedable ? I mean I could recover the wallet many times till the end of the world ? over and over and over
  • Is there is any chance on the Electrum icon Huh
  • What is the current version of the wallet ?

I see the icon like this and I don't remember seeing it like this at all before because I used to use Electrum on the past .

What's the latest wallet , in Github it says 2.4 version is the latest while on download on their download page I can only download 2.3.2 version (Windows) which makes me think if I'am downloading the real thing or not . https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/releases we can see that there is even 2.3.3 also

Also what is making me afraid is this page : https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/blob/master/RELEASE-NOTES the Release notes says the following :

Quote
# Release 2.4
 * Payment to DNS names storing a Bitcoin addresses (OpenAlias) is
supported directly, without activating a plugin. The verification
   uses DNSSEC.
 * The DNSSEC verification code was rewritten. The previous code,
which was part of the OpenAlias plugin, is vulnerable and should
not be trusted (Electrum 2.0 to 2.3).

 * Payment requests can be signed using Bitcoin addresses stored
in DNS (OpenAlias). The identity of the requestor is verified using
   DNSSEC.
 * Payment requests signed with OpenAlias keys can be shared as
bitcoin: URIs, if they are simple (a single address-type
output). The BIP21 URI scheme is extended with 'name', 'sig',
   'time', 'exp'.
 * Arbitrary m-of-n multisig wallets are supported (n<=15).
 * Multisig transactions can be signed with Trezor. When you create
the multisig wallet, just enter the xpub of your existing Trezor
   wallet.
 * Transaction fees set manually in the GUI are retained, including
when the user uses the '!' shortcut.
 * New 'email' plugin, that enables sending and receiving payment
   requests by email.
 * The daemon supports Websocket notifications of payments.

Which makes me not trust the older version so is there is anyway or any link that I could get the latest version 2.4 from ? that would be epic .
One more question , how much adresses are generated ? If we use one it goes to the "Used" tab as fais as I know, once an adress goes there another is auto generated ? ty

1172  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Can I take wallet.dat while Reindexing ? on: July 30, 2015, 11:36:58 AM
If you saw my other posts and threads on the last few weeks then  you will understand that Bitcoin Core is screwed up on my PC and I'am struggling and I decided to move to Windows 10 and make all fresh to make I'am good to go .

So , Bitcoin Core don't want to Reindex (at least it take shitload of days) now I want to know if I take backup of wallet.dat and save it somewhere safe , Unistall windows and install the new Windows 10 could I import the wallet.dat ? or that wallet.dat won't be updated because the Reindexing with the network wasen't finished ?

Also what are the wallets that I could import wallet.dat to safely without any issues because I'am thinking to switch to Electrum after the Installation of the new windows .
1173  Other / Politics & Society / US Presidential Candidate Rick Perry Reveals Bitcoin Stance on: July 30, 2015, 10:54:15 AM
US presidential candidate Rick Perry has stated he supports "regulatory breathing room" for digital currencies such as bitcoin.

The comments came during a new interview with The New York Observer that found Perry elaborating on issues that could form the core of his fiscal policy.

In the interview, Perry roundly denounced perceived issues in the financial system, stating:

"“Wall Street should not be left off the hook for their bad behavior … instead of them being punished, it was the average American who paid the tremendous price. The fact of the matter is, to be quite frank: we got screwed."

1176  Bitcoin / Press / [2015-07-29] Microsoft Hosts bitcoinless Bitcoin 2.0 Event for 'Social Good' on: July 29, 2015, 04:20:54 PM
In another splash into the Bitcoin space for Microsoft, the tech giant's Civic Innovation team organized a Bitcoin event in New York earlier this week. Co-organized by MIT Media Lab's Digital Currency Initiative – which currently funds Bitcoin Core development - the evening's headliners at the newly opened LMHQ event space in lower Manhattan explored Bitcoin's potential for “social good.” With one topic conspicuously absent: bitcoin.

1177  Economy / Service Discussion / Darkwallet vs. Bitmixer.io ? on: July 29, 2015, 03:27:32 PM
I want to know what's exactly is the difference between those two services , I never tested any of them but I know how basically Bitmixer.io works and I didn't test Darkwallet because they said it's not Safe and not stabe and we should use it at our own risk.

I thought Darkwallet is giving Off-chain transactions however from reading there website seems like it's not ?

I saw that they use CoinJoin Mixing or something like that so what's exactly is the difference between those two and if it's just mixing then why it need so much money to get developped https://www.darkwallet.is/donate/

1180  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Creation of more powerful Hardwares Could destroy Bitcoin ? on: July 26, 2015, 06:06:37 PM
I really was wondering , we always tell people to hold their bitcoins for the next 5-15 years on Cold storage then come and sell them and they make shitload of profit , yes but .. I got this suddenly , what if CPU's & GPU's gets more developped and become better and better and faster over the years of course , would that destroy Bicoin ? I mean if it's easy to mine  , Bitcoin should logically lose it value ?  Huh

Feel free to let me know if I don't know what I'am talking about , won't take it as an offense Embarrassed
