821  Economy / Exchanges / Using "Annonymous" Bitcoin debit card is legal ? on: July 27, 2016, 07:37:58 PM
I know this question may sound little bit weird to you but It's not .

I got a free Bitcoin debit card months/year ago (don't remember the time) for being part of the Bit-x signature campaign , I never used he card at ATMs or at shops since shops here don't accept MasterCard or Visa (I live in Algeria)

The card don't contain my name (It says Bit-x only ) and I have a family member who is going to travel soon to UK (assume that this question is for any other country)  and I was wondering if It's normal to use it on shops and ATMs , I mean the SHOP won't ask him why the card doesn't contain a name or something like that ?
822  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Blockstream Buys Bitcoin Wallet to Boost Sidechains Development on: July 27, 2016, 07:30:34 PM
Bitcoin infrastructure architect Blockstream has acquired wallet provider GreenAddress in a move the startup says could impact the development of its signature, still in-development sidechains solution.

Following the acquisition, GreenAddress Wallet's team of three developers will continue to work on privacy and security bolstering features for the wallet as well as compatibility for sidechains, a bitcoin infrastructure component that Blockstream has raised $76m in two investment rounds to engineer.

For a second , I thought they bought Bitcoin Core or something and I was like : "Rip decentralization."

824  Economy / Service Discussion / [Question] Bitcoin -> Neteller on: July 25, 2016, 05:11:30 PM
Hey guys,

I want to ask you guys something , I know that Neteller accept Bitcoin deposits for 1% (It was free then became 5% then finally 1%) It's better compared to other payment methods .

Anyway , I want to know , I heard that I won't be able to to withdraw using an ATM or buy online , but can I use them for Card to Card transfer ? I mean sending funds to another holder of Neteller account ?

826  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin mentioned on Mr.Robot Season 2 and 3 on: July 13, 2016, 09:16:51 AM
Mr Robot new episode came out yesterday and It seems like Bitcoin has been mentioned, I didn't watch the episode yet but according to telegraph.co.uk :

Quote
Several eagle-eyed viewers noticed that the new episode featured a Bitcoin-branded truck. With the global economy in freefall following the finale of season one, perhaps the digital payment system has overtaken the US dollar as a more stable unit of currency.
See more about the episode here : http://www.telegraph.co.uk/on-demand/2016/07/11/how-the-internet-reacted-to-the-mr-robot-season-2-leak/

827  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / How miners sell their Bitcoins ? on: July 09, 2016, 12:58:46 PM
I want to know how the miners (mostly the big farms) sell their coins ? I mean do they sell them instantly once they are generated or they wait x hours/days/weeks ?

The reason I want to know this is to know how the halving is going to effect the price (instantly or it's going to take time) .

I wasn't here when the first halving happened so I'm not sure how it works , because if they have BOTS that sells for them once they are generated , we should see the price affected right away I suppose however If they only sell after couple of weeks etc... It will take sometime .
828  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Halving in 24 hours , SegWit not released yet ? on: July 08, 2016, 05:51:54 PM

830  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / How to get transaction info in Real-Time ? on: July 04, 2016, 03:12:41 PM
I want to know how it's possible to get a transaction info in real time ?

When I say "In real time" what I mean is , once the transaction happens and gets added to the Blockchain.

How wallets are doing it ? are they checking the blockchain each x seconds or something like that ? If you didn't understand due to my poor english or something , please let me know so I explain more.
831  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / People deserve to lose their Bitcoins ? on: July 02, 2016, 09:32:07 AM
I honestly don't mean to be rude or anything but seriously ?

A lot of services scammed or really got hacked (Mt gox , Bitfinex , Poloniex , Bter , Purse.io , Coinapult , BitStamp , Scrypt.CC , Bitcoinica , Bitcurex and much much more)

Till now and after getting people losing thousands/millions of dollars , people still don't understand that they shouldn't keep their coins in Exchange for long term.

If we speak about Cloud mining companies , I think we are giving shitload of warnings when someone ask about cloud mining ... Still , people keep investing there and then cry when the service "claim" that they got hacked and never comeback.

Example :   HashOcean (lately) , Cloudminr , Cloudmining.website and a lot more !

So I really want to hear your opinions on this one guys.

PS : Halving is coming , you may want to start withdrawing your coins .. just in case ?  Roll Eyes

833  Other / Meta / Problem with creating new sections ? on: June 30, 2016, 09:41:55 AM
So once theymos created the new sections "Online wallets" and "exchanges" on the Service discussion section , I'm having this issue ...

No one is posting on the threads however ... they keep getting added when I click "Show new replies to your posts" , and even if I make them as "Mark as read" , I wait more minutes and they get  on that list once again  Huh

EDIT : When I first made this thread I had nothing on the "Show new replies to your posts" , after (let's say 10-20mn) I refreshed the page and I have this :

As you can see , those threads are inactive since April so I'm not sure why they are listed there.

EDIT 2 : Once again :

834  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / The Final countdown [10 Days before the halving] on: June 29, 2016, 11:57:21 AM

835  Economy / Service Discussion / HashOcean disapeared and scammed 700,000 users ? ! on: June 26, 2016, 01:42:50 PM
It seems like the website is down for one reason or another (I got the Live version from CloudFlare for sometime and now it's down again)

=> https://hashocean.com/

and the thing that makes it more suspicious is that they deleted their video from YouTube : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-IFOkrcmP0&feature=youtu.be

I  personally didn't invest on that scam but hopefully, It's not down so people could withdraw their money and understand that this kind of website is never trustworthy.

EDIT [30 June 2016] :

It seems like it's another scam so a petition has been opened (not by me) and over 1200 supporters signed till now : https://www.change.org/p/fbi-fbi-hashocean-700-000-people-swindled Hopefully more users will do the same !

838  Economy / Digital goods / [WTB] CS:GO Gift on: June 24, 2016, 10:43:23 AM
It's 7.49$ at the moment on steam so I'm looking for something cheaper. Keep in mind that the CS:GO gifts bought on Steam summer sale (Of this year) cannot be gifted to someone else according to PCGamer : http://www.pcgamer.com/you-cant-gift-csgo-during-the-steam-sale/

I won't be trading with people with low rank on the forums or people with no trading history.
839  Economy / Exchanges / Coinbase accepting Credit cards and Paypal on: June 24, 2016, 07:01:17 AM
So I just received an email about their blog post : https://blog.coinbase.com/2016/06/22/coinbase-adds-support-for-paypal-and-credit-cards/
It seems like they are now accepting Paypal for Bitcoin sells and Credit cards for buying Bitcoin. Paypal is only for US users at the moment so I want to ask about the Credit card service , is it worldwide ? If it's the case then what are the fees and how good they are compared to Virwox please ?
