201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you blame someone for your gambling losses? on: March 13, 2024, 04:24:47 PM

The first step in actually coming back from an addiction is to realize that the gambler is to blame for their own actions. Not anyone else.

People are quick to blame others, but they rarely take responsibility of their actions when they lose.
By blaming yourself for wrong steps due to your careless actions in carrying out gambling activities and often experiencing losses, that is normal and natural, but if we gamblers blame other people for the losses we experience, that is a big mistake. . . because defeat in gambling is determined by the dealer or system, not other gamblers.
Therefore, it is a good idea for us to introspect ourselves on what we have done and immediately improve it.

I agree that gambling is a game of luck and depends on your own personal judgment and experience no one should be blamed here at all. If we ourselves do not gamble no one can force us to gamble. Rightly said it is the result of our actions but there are many who don't want to accept it. If you can put the blame on others you feel better. Gamblers initially denied it. But when it becomes a real problem they stop trying to deny it. So acknowledging the problem is very important.

I think that taking responsibility for what we do should be the standard but its not really what we see around the world
most people want to blame things that are outside them for the situations
not once, or twice
but every time.
202  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: March 13, 2024, 04:13:39 PM
many gambling addicts have lost their minds because their desire to continue gambling overpowers their common sense, hence the importance of "gambling responsibly"
addiction is not a condition you would normally want to find yourself in. I know it's easy to talk about addict as individuals that are inferior to us based on the kind of situation they've gotten into but the reality is that anyone can become addicted into gambling without his knowledge. We all are gamblers who basically do it for fun and for the joy of the game and one of the reason why some of us can comfortably gamble responsibly is because we have a sustainable source of income and taking a portion of it into gambling occasionally isn't a big deal for us but when you don't have a good source of income and your wins in gambling becomes your trusted source of income, addiction will make more sense to you and you will instantly understand the reason behind the increasing number of gambling addicts.

it's easy to talk but the truth is that we don't really know how it'd be to be in that situation
it's easy to say: control yourself, don't fall for x y or z, but truth is that we don't really know how our response would be in a given situation if we didn't go through that situation

one thing to remember is that there's no shame in seeking help if we need it.

204  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Milei - Pacotão de medidas liberais on: March 13, 2024, 12:48:42 PM
A inflação na Argentina continua caindo desde a ascensão do milei.

https://www.infomoney.com.br/economia/inflacao-na-argentina-volta-a-desacelerar-para-132-em-fevereiro/

205  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: March 12, 2024, 03:59:13 PM
~snip~
yes, some habits are deeply engrained in our souls, it takes time, work and effort to correct them
not everyone is willing to do so or will have the necessary powers and support network to suceed.

it's definitely easier for some than others...

Yeah, but at the end of the day most people can do it, at least gradually.

It is hard of course, and everyone is different, but it is simply one day at a time.

I agree, should be doable for everyone if they want
and I put it in bold because from practical experience I say that it's impossible to help someone who doesn't want to be helped
and no one is coming to save us, we have to find the best way in life by ourselves.

Well, the way you talk means to me that you are supported by a person who does like to help, but when you need help from others, no one gives it to you, and I think that has happened to a lot of people, well it has happened to many of us, But I think we have to start from that so that we don't get disappointed in those things, at least I'm very happy when I know that I'm helping a person, whether with words or whatever, but helping, do you know why? because that is the only thing that we practically come to this life to help, and to serve, because apart from that you have not realized that you help someone, with whatever it is, because it is a great satisfaction, I know that many people are not like that, but even when We feel that no one helps us and if we have a place to help, then in some way life rewards us, I say something, we will never be alone, sometimes a person can have a lot of money and be a multi-millionaire, but they don't have the health that we need. Also, they don't have the happiness that we still have even though they have so much money, because those things sometimes don't matter.

Here in the forum there are people who need help, they don't say it, but I know they need it, sometimes these types of topics are understandable because there are many ways of thinking and many ways of seeing the problems, but sometimes a piece of advice, no matter how It's silly that it seems, it helps, or can help someone get out of their addiction or that condition, in fact we are people at some point because we have to help, we have to serve others, and then we don't have to suffer, but through our children we could see those Blessings , or through our loved ones, that is something that goes away like that, but I have seen that people who act badly, in some way in the vine pay for it, and keep in mind Surely before dying you pay for the bad that you have done, and we don't know what comes after death, etnoncs the more we can help people I think that is the idea of this, of the thread, of the forum, of everything.

actually I'm supported by myself only but I have a good network of people and family who I can talk to and who would help me if I needed (financially, emotionally, so forth and so on)
my first comment was more relating to therapy, you can force someone to seek this kind of help even if they need it... but when we say "help" I see now that it can mean many things

I agree with you regarding the possibility of knowing if someone need help by the way they type, even easier to do it if you're close to the person and can feel the energy and listen to how they speak
206  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: MEGATHREAD - os livros que o bitcointalk lê on: March 12, 2024, 03:47:25 PM
<...>

A pretensão do conhecimento

207  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: March 12, 2024, 03:26:13 PM
on point! @Fivestar4everMVP

life is dynamic and change never stops, that's beautiful

<..>

The same with AI, if you can use it to make your life better, that's how you will win.

Maybe for gambling AI can be used in an indirect way. Maybe someone already is using it.

probably, I'd love to hear from other users if they're already using AI for betting
how are they using it? are they creating autonomous AI agents to bet for them or using it to refine strategies or something else?

that is a really interesting topic to talk about
208  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: March 12, 2024, 03:09:47 PM
Is it currently better not to register there?
I am looking for a new bookie. The selection of bets looks good.
In my experience, Roobet is one of the best casino that I played in (sportsbook or casino games). Never had an issue playing on their site and the support is responsive if you have concern, so try it for yourself. But as others have said, there's a mandatory level 1 kyc, need to fill a basic details.

roobet is doing great with the marketing campaigns here in the forum, glad they keep it up after so many weeks.
Indeed. They became well known here because of their different marketing strategies (sig campaign, contests, games etc.) the reason why they became popular. Though they already lessen their promotions as well as their sig participants.

what are the games you're playing more often? Lucky or skill games?
do you find some strong lucky-based game that also have a component of skill?

yes, I can see that they keep their presence strong here on bitcointalk, I just question myself how important is it for them I mean, if it's really effective for their marketing or more something they do out of valuing the community here, wanting to give back, principles, I don't know...

What you ask is very interesting, because there are people who confuse games of luck with games of reality. The other day I was talking to a friend who likes to play roulette a lot, but of course in a physical casino, roulette for me is talent given at random, but as he plays and wins because he has his own strategies, this is something that we must see , because we cannot think that we have the skill in a roulette game, or that what we do is obligatory and that he wins, no, that It's not like that, I love roulette, what was roulette is what I play the most in a Physical casino site, so given these things I can't say that I have a lot of luck in these places, no, these are skill games for me. They are poker and black jack, because you have to combine decisions with strategy and some chance, but it is not all random, well unless it is played and Absolutely nothing comes out , if that happens then no way.

But in the order that things happen in a casino , the game of poker Always has a lot to do with strategies and that is why poker is so good, in fact I have friends who are chess players, which were on the team. from the university and they are very good, and they have Currently given up chess a bit because they have discovered that in poker they can make more money than playing chess, so these are things that make me think, because a chess player knows a lot about strategies, and They can apply everything a lot to be able to win in poker, I don't know how well they do at that, because I didn't ask them much, but they told me that they are dedicated to that, I don't know, but I think they personally play at tables and that since their houses, in the casinos that are seeing things like this to make a great platform because it is something that can happen , although I have not seen a casino that suits me with its poker game, maybe I am Used to something Else.

interesting to put poker and chess on the same "bucket" as strategy, and I agree that both require skill but they are very different
chess always has the best move and you get good by knowing what is the best move to do at a given moment
on poker it's more about odds and bluffing could change everything (you can win without a good hand)

curious to hear your friends strategies on the roulette since this is way more luck, are the strategies related to bankroll management?

Well, the truth is, chess has always caught my attention, I have some medals that I won, but only when I was in high school, but it catches my attention because many very good and famous chess players have turned to poker. and that catches my attention, of course I understand their logic, poker is much less complicated, but it requires many strategies and luck, then with all the mental theory that is in your mind any chess player can do something of money if applied with the same discipline as poker, of course there are some things that have to be taken, like experience, like everything related to doing things better in how to be able to have more skill, when playing in PVP mode it is where there is more opportunity to win, at least that's what I think, although several members of the forum say that that has nothing to do with it.

This makes me remember when I go to a physical casino I like to play roulette when there are many people, that in roulette you have to win yes or yes, for me it is much better to play like this because I feel that I have more chances of winning than I can play alone against the casino software as such, in fact in current casinos they should give those options in PVP mode, like Black Jack, and with respect to roulette, yes, you have not read Karl's articles on the ebl blog. bitcasino.io? There is a lot of high quality information regarding roulette, slots and all this.

interesting, do you have the link for any of these articles you mention? I'd love to check it

regarding chess vs poker there's a really good book called "thinking in bets" by Anne Duke I read it and it's great
it's more about probabilistic thinking applied to life than about the games itself but it's one worth to check
she says life is way more about poker (unpredictability, possibility to fold, etc) than like chess

210  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It’s unlikely that anyone besides you will be happy with your winnings. on: March 10, 2024, 02:26:08 PM
I don’t think other people will understand the joy of winning for you
Same with talking about videogames with someone that doesn’t play or giving value to a collectible. If you own something that has special value for you but it’s not fungible it will be hard to “translate” this value for someone else specially if they don’t have the context
211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does casino streamers have influence in your gambling life? on: March 10, 2024, 01:13:31 PM
I didn’t even know they existed until this moment so I can say that they have no influence at all in my life
But for sure they influence the people that watch them because everything we see influence us somehow. Each person will have a different level of letting it influence their actions more or less but we aren’t completely isolated from what we see and read.

214  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you avoid some games because of racism? on: March 08, 2024, 07:18:07 PM
Interesting topic and I was thinking about something on a similar idea

Would it be ok to trade a market that deals with something you’re conpletely against like guns or drugs or or clear ponzis whatever

At first my reaction was better to not even provide liquidity to this kind of things but yesterday I was thinking thar: if you’re gonna trade these better do ot with skill and in your best and extract value from this market

Still not sure and with gambling its even worse because its way more luck than skill
But still interesting to consider

216  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Métricas para descobrir o TOPO do Mercado on: March 08, 2024, 02:14:18 PM

https://twitter.com/sovereignorigin/status/1765420109940605101

218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling mistake repeated by the gamblers on: March 07, 2024, 07:22:41 PM
This idea of withdrawing from your account from time to time is a good one. To avoid losing to much or giving back some money to the house after earning it.

Getting overconfident or losing it all in a bad day happens too. The best way is finding tools and strategies to protect yourself from your bad decisions
219  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Patience can help alot on: March 07, 2024, 07:00:06 PM
The game of gambling isn't something that people with low patience can survive be it the different types of gambling @sports betting  @casino games like dice and slots, patience is still the key to survive. Sometimes anxiousness and anxiety can make a gambler take decision that he might end up regretting.

Today I experience this ill feeling although am okay now but I thought I should share my experience and thought with some of the gamblers here to see if we are on the same page.

I made a very wrong decision on a game I staked today and this is unlike me because I don't normally check on my games until its settled because sometimes you will tempted with some crazy things like cash-out which is what I did today and although you won't blame me to some extent but still if I was patient enough as the final results if the games came through and Instead of winning the whole money, I got only a fraction of the funds.

Good topic
I also think that it’s better to think before deciding and after deciding not changing your decision instead of letting it roll
It’s normal not to be 100% right. The most important thing is how much you earn when you are right and how much you lose when you are wrong
220  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Know when to stop on: March 07, 2024, 06:10:41 PM
One of the most important factor of a successful gambler is to know when to stop, most gamblers expecially the addictive type don't even know what is stop when it comes to gambling. So it's very important to;
* Stop when your losing is now getting to you.

* Stop when you are now feeling as is you can't do without gambling.

* Stop when you have a big winning, by channeling the money somewhere else so you won't lose it back to gambling.

* Stop when you are not even winning at all, it's not your thing.

* When your losing is weighing you down, stop and restrategize .

Really good points but probably much easier said than done
What do you think are some good strategies and tools to be able to enforce your rules and stop when these things start to happen if the person has trouble trying to control him/herself
