301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - Secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency - Now on Hitbtc.com on: July 12, 2014, 12:44:33 PM

Also, the amount of obvious new troll/FUD accounts with few posts in this thread is too damn high.

It is a good signal. If this coin is not too good, it will not have so many enemies

Please donate to XMR team https://pay.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/2afh3j/dev_team_donation_drive/ 7 developers are working too hard to keep the ball rolling. XMR will be the best moment in cryptocurrency age after bitcoin
303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - Secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency - Now on Hitbtc.com on: July 12, 2014, 11:17:33 AM
I'm disappointed in Monero’s  debs. They could at least make a nice website, since they compete for the title of best developers.

Best what? Best web developer?  Huh

They are position themselves as excellent and clever developers of one of the best alternative cryptocurrencies

People knows that XMR team are very competent devs

I heard there are very few people who really do mine Monero and the developers use botnet to maximize the demand for this coin. Is it true?

Yep, the Monero team is just a bunch of hackers. In fact, the way they do things, the prospects are dark for this coin.

I agree that XMR team are hackers which are very competent in coding and managing the network. It is great for XMR future. Not sure why you think that "the prospects are dark for this coin"  Cheesy I believe that you find "the prospects are bright for DRK" because DRK supporters are bunch of liars  Tongue
307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - Secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency - Now on Hitbtc.com on: July 12, 2014, 10:37:30 AM
mixers are honeypots.

Yes. Mixing is never the solution for anonymity.

Anonymous coins with mixer are total scam.

Tell it to DRK supporters. They tend to disagree Wink

botnet is exaggerated by DRK liars. Wink XMR miming is dominated by GPU miners and CPU cloud miners
309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: rpietila Altcoin Observer on: July 12, 2014, 10:27:06 AM
I already said botnet is exaggerated by DRK liars. My laptop Windows 64-bit 2 core i5 delivers 45-50 H/s when idle and 30 h/s if I am working on it.

My core i7 Linux PC 4 cores delivers 200 H/s using Wolf miner

It is just a simple example to see how slow a botnet-controlled computer is.
310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LAUNCHED] CryptoNoteCoin - CryptoNote based coin for education purposes on: July 12, 2014, 09:19:49 AM
There will be no such WTB (Want to Buy) and WTS (Want to Sell). Forget it. This coin is for education purpose

So, people should offer WTS (Willing to Send) and WTR (Willing to Receive)

Everything should be free  Cheesy
311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LAUNCHED] CryptoNoteCoin - CryptoNote based coin for education purposes on: July 12, 2014, 07:53:03 AM
CryptoNote team will mine it and give coins away to people. You don't need to mine. Or if you want to help, join them

Also this coin can be as testbed on how network can be maintained after mining for rewards ends. 51% attack for double spending can be simulated too.

I do believe that it would be helpful.

Also, I think that CryptoNote team should focus on writing CryptoNote core libraries
312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: rpietila Altcoin Observer on: July 11, 2014, 03:38:52 AM
He would then allocate this 3% between the alt-coins showing promise in the area he is interested in (strong privacy), trying to invest more heavily in those he believes to be the most legitimate.

Bytecoin (BCN) devs (and supporters) should read this. 80% premined is not a way to make it look legitimate
313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: rpietila Altcoin Observer on: July 10, 2014, 10:11:05 AM
Would be great to see a similar comparison for Monero vs Boolberry if someone is up for it.

I have a dream: BBR and XMR devs become one team
314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: rpietila Altcoin Observer on: July 10, 2014, 01:08:29 AM
Bytecoin devs, someone writes about you and CryptoNote http://www.cryptobang.com/2014/07/09/bytecoin/

PS: Time to dump DRK Wink
315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: rpietila Altcoin Observer on: July 10, 2014, 12:47:19 AM
Who said anything about mixing? Argument was that a government could take down the nodes of a coin or hold people running one liable for breaking whatever law.

>> government could take down the nodes of a coin

Yes, government can take DRK masternodes but not Bitcoin or XMR nodes Wink

Exactly, masternodes and regular wallets form a decentralized network.

There are a big difference between masternodes (Darksend) and regular wallets (DRK daemon). What do you mean here?
316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: rpietila Altcoin Observer on: July 10, 2014, 12:34:15 AM
payment ID is for exchange. It is not recommended by devs  Wink

@Brilliantrocket  You are trying too hard but DRK is not an option for anonymity
317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: rpietila Altcoin Observer on: July 10, 2014, 12:23:26 AM
I think that one of the great features of DRK is closed source Darksend  Wink

Closed source means:

+ Trustless
+ Secure

in the way of thinking of DRK supporters/devs
318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: rpietila Altcoin Observer on: July 10, 2014, 12:12:39 AM
In regards to Anonymint, when he speaks I would pay attention. He is at genius / near genius levels when it comes to cryptography and math. If he says it cannot scale, it cannot scale. The blockchain CANNOT be pruned anywhere near enough for it to be a practical, anonymous currency.
Can you support your claim that a large blockchain makes it not practical or anonymous?

With a 50% or more reduction in size, CrytoNote's blockchain bloat will be only slightly more than Bitcoin's blockchain bloat.
Certainly not right now. In 5 or more years, who can say.

OK 5 years? DRK security issues are much more urgent Wink

What people prefers:

+ XMR or BBR's blockchain is bloated. It is larger than Bitcoin's but its privacy technology is well designed, very secure
+ DRK is insecure. Its technology is obsolete Wink

If CryptoNote has scaling issues with it's anon technology, is that a potential use case for FantomCoin? First use case I can really think of for a merge mined CN coin, but it sounds like it's plausible. It could take some pressure off XMR or BBL or whatever emerges as the main coin.

FantomCoin is just another CryptoNote coin. What do you mean here?
